Google’s first phone in the country in almost 2 years-Pixel 6a coming soon

One of the main issues with Google’s Pixel series is its restricted distribution, but it appears that Google is now stepping up its efforts. The Google Pixel 6a will be available in India, marking the company’s first smartphone sale in the nation in over two years. Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States are among the 12 nations where Google’s Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are available. According to Google’s documentation, the next Pixel 6a will be available in the same locations, as well as returning to Puerto Rico after Google bypassed the US island with its Pixel 5a. The Pixel 6a will be available in India “later in 2022,” according to Google. Google’s first launch in India in over two years will be delayed. The Pixel 4a, which debuted in India in October 2020, was the company’s most recent new smartphone for the country.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 renders reveal the design of the upcoming foldable phone

This year, Samsung will update the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip, most likely at an Unpacked presentation in August. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 will be released this year. These will be the follow-ups to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, both of which cemented Samsung’s supremacy in the foldable market. In collaboration with Steve Hemmerstoffer of OnLeaks, 91mobiles brings you your first look at the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 exclusively. From the outside, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 resembles its predecessor with the exception of a few minor measurements. The handset should be offered in a variety of colours. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 has the same appearance as the Z Flip 3. As with its predecessor, the phone has a thin profile and a flip-style form factor. When the phone is fully opened, it reveals a tall flexible display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera and a presumably improved hinge design. The phone looks to feature a glass back panel and an aluminium frame.

WhatsApp to soon bring chat filters to your inbox

WhatsApp to soon bring chat filters to your inbox

WhatsApp added conversation filters to its WhatsApp Business app for Android, iOS, and the desktop in 2018. Now, some four years later, the business is said to be working on adding a similar function to its normal app as well. According to WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned messaging service is also working on adding conversation filters to regular WhatsApp accounts. Users of WhatsApp’s regular app will be able to sort through their messages by applying one of four filters — Unread Chats, Contacts, Non-Contacts, and Groups — in a future update, according to a screenshot published by the blog site. These filters are identical to those currently offered in WhatsApp’s Business app. In addition to this, the messaging app will also make these chat filters available all the time in its standard app. “Standard WhatsApp accounts will also be able to use the same feature in a future update of the app, but there is another difference: the filter button will be always visible even when you are not searching for chats and messages,” the blog site noted.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet has announced the addition of eight Indian languages including Assamese and Bhojpuri to Google Translate. The other Indian languages are Dogri, Konkani, Maithili, Meiteilon (Manipuri), Mizo and Sanskrit. With the addition of eight languages, a total of 19 Indian languages are supported by the service.

The announcement was made by the Pichai at the annual Google conference I/O that began on May 11. The two-day event is being held online. The Google I/O will conclude on May 12.

Other than Indian languages, Aymara, Bambara, Dhivehi, Ewe, Guarani, IIocano, Krio, Kurdish (Sorani), Lingala, Luganda, Oromo, and Quechua have been added to the Google translate. Pichai in his keynote address said that Google Translate has been a crucial tool for newcomers and residents trying to communicate with one another in the countries around the world.

Sundar Pichai

“The addition of 24 new languages is aimed to make Google Translate universally accessible,” adds Pichai. He adds that more people are using Google Translate than ever before, but we still have work to do to make it universally accessible. Google CEO also informed that together, these languages are spoken by more than 300 million people. Breakthroughs like this are powering a radical shift in how we access knowledge and use computers.

After the addition of 24 languages, Google Translate now supports a total of 133 languages used around the globe.

“So with advances in machine learning, we’ve developed a monolingual approach where the model learns to translate a new language without ever seeing a direct translation of it. By collaborating with native speakers and institutions, we found these translations were of sufficient quality to be useful, and we’ll continue to improve them,” says Pichai.

Apple retires iPod Touch after two decades

Apple retires iPod Touch after two decades

Apple is retiring the iPod Touch, marking the end of the iPod product line, nearly two decades after its inception. The main reason for the decision is that the product is no longer relevant in the era of current technology. Apple Music may now be streamed on an iPad, iPhone, HomePod, MacBook, and even through an Airpods and Apple Watch environment. The introduction of these products has reduced iPod sales. Customers can still buy the music streaming gadget (for US$ 199) until the current stock runs out, according to a company statement. It went on to say that the iPod’s legacy will be carried on through its other devices. “Today, the spirit of the iPod lives on. We’ve integrated an incredible music experience across all of our products, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod Mini, and across Mac, iPad, and Apple TV. And Apple Music delivers industry-leading sound quality with support for spatial audio. There’s no better way to enjoy, discover, and experience music,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing in a statement.
