Moto X40 with the new and improved Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Soc will be launched in the Chinese market in December 2022, according to a trustworthy confirmation recently received. Since Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has been officially announced, no smartphone manufacturer wants to be left behind in the race to launch devices with this updated chip.

Many brands such as Vivo with its X90 Pro+, Xiaomi and iQOO with their soon to be unveiled smartphones are ready to hit the market with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SOC powered devices. And now it appears that Motorola too isn’t going to be too far behind in the race since the brand is all set to launch Moto X40 in the coming December. Let’s find out all we know about Moto X40 and its now confirmed launch.

The General Manager of Lenovo’s Mobile Division, Chen Jin shared a confirmation about the Moto X40 launch in December via a Weibo post. Jin confirmed that the smartphone will be released in China in December even though no exact launch date has been mentioned.

Jin wrote in his post, “The Moto X40 this time supports IP68 waterproofing. We would like to call it the SUV in the mobile phone. December, get ready to go!”

However, tech bloggers believe that users should expect the device launch to happen in the first half of the month so that it can get a decent window to expand its reach well before the holiday season. Jin also revealed that Moto X40 will have an IP68 rating and will thus be water and dust resistant.

According to such leaks, the smartphone will sport “a 6.67-inch OLED panel with curved edges on all four sides. It will support an FHD+ resolution, 10-bit colours, and feature an under-display fingerprint scanner.”

Moto X40 will most likely come to the stores with up to 18 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. It is expected to run on MY UI 5.0-based Android 13 operating system.

Some tech bloggers have earlier confirmed Moto X40 would be packed with a powerful 5,000mAh battery supported by 68W fast charging.
