In Brief

The Indian Mobile Congress event took place in New Delhi on October 1, 2022, where 5G services were officially launched in India by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and was attended by many dignitaries, most of which were the who’s who of the tech industry.

It was also an occasion where Airtel and Reliance Jio rolled out their 5G services, which was met with a standing ovation while Ookla, a web service that gives a free analysis of internet performance via Speedtest.

Speedtest is for testing the performance speed of 5G services and the recent Speedtest intelligence report has revealed that its speed is 500Mbps where it is expected to be much more than 4G LTE.

Ookla had conducted the 5G speed test prior to the 5G services’ launch on October 1 while telecom operators are continuing to gauge their speed and network as they expect more stability in both.

While some experts have voiced their doubts regarding 5G’s speed vis-à-vis 4G LTE, the Ookla reports claim that this is highly plausible under conditions like ideal network coverage and no network congestion.

Jio too had its own speed test done in New Delhi in June 2022 where it was found that it had a 600Mbps median download speed while the same for Airtel was 197.98Mbps.  The same report also claimed that nearly 89% of the people of India were ready to upgrade to 5G.

5g speed

Among the brands that are ready to switch to 5G include Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Realme, Sony, among others but it is the iPhone that is said to be more capable of handling 5G services as iPhone 12 is said to be the most popular 5G handset in the country.

Conclusion

5G services were launched with much fanfare as all the telecom companies are testing it out in numerous cities with Airtel alone accounting for 8 smart cities of India where it has successfully tested 5G network and found that it is perfect in most smartphones.

Other companies like Reliance Jio too are following suit so it can be said that things are going smooth, as of now, as there have been numerous 5G tests conducted in different parts of India.

We all are fond of playing games from time to time despite having crossed that age long back. It could be because there are still those that never lose their rebellious streak or maybe perhaps, we still have a little child buried deep within us that yearns to come out every once in a while.

There are two operating systems that are found in smartphones of different brands- Android and iOS, and most of us own either one or both models where they have their own significance.

When it comes to choosing games, Android has the Google Play Store while Apple iOS comes with an App Store, where there are a variety of gaming apps and other platforms that come up at regular intervals.

Google Play Points

Google Play Store is coming out with a new feature programme called Google Play Points, which is touted to be an initiative to hand out rewards, and is expected to be launched in India in the second week of October 2022, although official confirmation is yet to come out.

The good news is that there is no monthly or recurring fee that you need to join this programme as all you need to do is to tap your profile icon from Google Play Store on your Android smartphone.

There are going to be four different levels in Google Play Points Programme viz. Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, which are based on the number of points collected by the players where everyone gets numerous perks, conveniences, and prizes, with each new level depending on the tier the player is in.

Google has had long term associations with many game developers and popular applications with India alone having more than 30 players that Google has partnered with, which include the likes of Ludo Star, Ludo King, 8 Ball Pool, Evony: The King’s Return, with Truecaller and Mysa added for good measure.

If any player wants to have his points redeemed, he/she can do it via Google Play Credit while the programme itself is available in more than 28 countries while Google has claimed that it has been used by more than 100 users.

Conclusion

Google Play Points Programme was first launched in Japan in September 2018 in a bid to encourage players to buy stuff through Google Play Store, while US and South Korea had their launches the following year, which allowed Google Play Store to provide a good competition to App Store.’

Gautam Adani is a name that needs no introduction and is ranked among the richest business magnates not just in India but the whole world, along with Birla, Tata, Ambani, etc. to name a few.

There is no dearth of industrialists in India as the above names are proof of that, while Adani Group is one of the biggest multinational conglomerates in India, which started out in 1988 by Gautam Adani as a business of trading commodities with Adani Enterprises as the flagship company.

Adani Group became the third Indian conglomerate, in 2021, to cross $100 billion US dollars in terms of market capitalization, which alone speaks volumes of the respect, stature, and prestige that the name ‘Adani Group’ commands in India.

Adani Data Network (ADNL) is one of the units of Adani Enterprises, which has just been granted a unified license for accessing services, due to which they will be able to provide telecom services throughout India while Adani Group has recently purchased spectrum in a recently held auction, thereby finding a place for itself in the telecom sector.

ADNL now has the right to use 400MHz of spectrum in the 26GHz millimeter wave band, which is worth around Rs.212 crore for 20 years, which was revealed at the recently held 5G spectrum auction.

Adani Group has made it clear that it plans to use airwaves for its data centers along with the super app, which aims to support businesses ranging from electricity distribution to airports, along with gas retailing to ports while it will use the 5G spectrum to accelerate the scale of digitization in the company by creating a unified digital platform.
