In the past decade or so, the TV viewing experience of Indians has significantly changed to a large extent, thanks to the introduction of Smart TVs, which has enabled them to upgrade their tastes from the smartphone to a larger screen whilst having an illuminating experience in doing so.

The massive popularity of OTT platforms has affected theatres immensely as people much prefer watching movies online rather than go and waste money for popcorns, soft drinks, and other things.

Smart TVs now offer a theatre-like experience, which has significantly increased the demands for wider screens across the country, which continues to grow with each passing day as people want to get a theatrical experience with their smart TV sets.

Flipkart has offered its own insights in the matter by claiming that the demand for 43-inch TV (4K especially) over 32-inch TV has rapidly increased in the first half of 2022 over 2021, in fact, more than doubled within this time period.

This also represents a noticeable shift in the consumer’s preference from previous years as they want to have a surreal experience of watching their favourite flicks on a 35 or 70mm screen but in their homes via their Smart TVs, which the makers are constantly trying to accomplish.

During the January-July 2022 period, there was 2 million increase in searches for premium large screen TVs, which is a massive increase compared to the previous years the customers want to avail the best options available in the market, which is why they’re looking for better resolution (FHD or 4K) and features such as 4K UHD, Dolby technology, smart assistant, among others.

This trend was also consistent in the recently concluded Flipkart’s Big Billion Days Sale event with both small and larger screen TV sets being one of the most sold items than ever, which was a huge number compared to the previous years.

The customers were able to upgrade their tastes by utilizing the availability of large screen TVs, which coupled with affordability constructs like Buy Now pay later helped them in deciding accordingly as to what they wanted.

While metros accounted for over one-fourth of the demand, tier 3 cities and beyond hold nearly 50% of the demand share, which is not surprising at all as metro cities have always had an edge over smaller cities in this matter.

There were many affordable payment constructs such as No Cost EMI, Debit Card EMI, which helped over 30% of customers upgrade to large screen TVs using the former constructs from January-July in 2022 over the same period last year.

Truth Social was already launched in the US on Apple’s App Store in February 2022, but due to content moderation, Google Play Store was unable to launch it on the platform on time and Google had expressed concerns to the app regarding violations of its Play Store policies that prohibited content like inciting violence and threats.

A PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court by Mirzapur resident, Sujeet Kumar Singh, who felt that the series, aside from being gory, vulgar, and distasteful, portrayed the city of Mirzapur in a negative light, where viewers now see it as a hub of Mafia, crime, terror, prostitution, and other illegal activities.

After the Supreme Court rejected to put a stay on the third season of the renowned web-series, on the grounds that there can be no pre-screening for any content released directly on online platforms, the PIL appeals to the government of India to set up a pre-screening committee for films, series, and programmes released on OTT platforms.

The plea further states that the Information & Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry should make a certificate mandatory from govt. authority before releasing it so that anything vulgar or negative against the city can be censored.

It remains to be seen whether this plea will succeed or not because Mirzapur is an extremely popular show so one can only wait to see where this conversation goes but anything is possible in such circumstances.

Basic with Ads Plan will provide personalized user experience, content, etc. where users will be allowed to change or cancel the plan at any time of their choice, which is similar to the Basic subscription offer.

The good news is that Netflix will also come up with the HD viewing experience for both Basic and Basic with Ads plan from November 2022, where subscribers will get an average of 4 to 5 minutes of ads per hour, while there are licensing restrictions for TV shows and movies.

Motorola too has jumped into the foray and started rolling out 5G updates on two of its smartphone models, Motorola Edge 30 Ultra and Motorola Edge 30 Fusion, whilst simultaneously revealing that the company plans to make Over-the-Air (OTA) updates available for its other 5G smartphones.

Motorola has taken care to reveal the timeline for coming out with OTA updates as it doesn’t want their users in the dark as they too would want to know about certain information regarding the updates.

As mentioned above, telecom companies like Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are enabling 5G services in select cities and will do the same for other regions of India in a systematic and phased manner, while the nationwide coverage will be completed in the next couple of years.

Apart from Motorola Edge 30 series, the company plans to roll out 5G updates in other smartphones like Moto G62 5G, Moto G82 5G, Moto G71 5G, among others, where the process will begin on October 25, 2022 and gradually move ahead with the project in the coming weeks and complete it by the end of November 2022.

All in all, the DXOMARK Camera score is 147, which means Google Pixel 7 Pro is very high in terms of ranking, while the last Google device to get this score was Pixel 2 in 2017, and Pixel 7 Pro has achieved good and consistent results in all test categories.

It did receive a little less in the video and image section, but is quite comparable with the best models in terms of being a total package as the tests claim, in no uncertain terms, that Pixel 7 Pro is still the best option for users even in videos and image performance.

It comes with a 4K resolution at 30 frames per second while the HDR10+ option stands disabled. The device takes perfect images for a variety of skin tones in different weather condition and takes care of realistic rendering.

Low light score is also included in the Camera test protocol where it determines Pixel 7 Pro’s capability in taking pictures in different light condition, and while the image quality isn’t perfect, it is still much better than Pixel 6 Pro as Photo, Zoom, and Video have considerably improved.

Pixel 7 Pro is good even when it comes to close-up pictures for which the credit goes to the automatic switch to its ultra-wide camera. The test protocol concludes that its performance is lower than that of iPhone 14 Pro as the latter has a detailed and excellent rate.

However, 7 Pro does offer interesting contrast in portrait shots and offers a perfectly dynamic range in all condition. It is takes good landscape shots, bird’s eye view shots, and many others while the indoor lighting is also good in showcasing dark and fair skin tones.

All in all, Google Pixel 7 Pro has passed the camera test protocol with excellent scores as 147 is one of the highest that any device can get and it isn’t easy to get such a high score when the tests are conducted by DXOMARK Camera test suite. Therefore, it is well worth your time and money.

An effective marketing strategy would have a mix of Google Ads and Social Media platforms. While we have a large number of our audience present on social media platforms, we can’t ignore the fact that many people search for any product or service on Google.

“Meta” is a big platform for advertising, so we would like to know more about Meta, it’s upcoming features which are paid and how is it going to affect the businesses?

We are yet to go full Metaverse. Internet users are always looking for personalisation and a more immersive experience, and Metaverse is here to offer just that. Recently, we have witnessed a lot of brands creating their own virtual experiences for their customers. However, to fully use the technology, the equipment needed for support is still not accessible to a significant chunk of the audience.

At last, we would love to know your opinion on ” Digital Marketing and it’s untapped potential in the Indian Markets”

Technology disruptions are happening every second, creating many opportunities for digital to tap into. The pandemic brought an unprecedented acceleration to digitization, and since then, more and more businesses are open to taking their business digital. The world of digital will only grow from here on.

At first, we would like to know the realme’s POV towards the massive industry of electronics and smartphones in India where the competition is at its peak!!

Since the outset, we have welcomed the challenges that have come our way in the fiercely competitive smartphone market. Since the introduction of our first smartphone, we have made it clear that we will only introduce smartphones that are suited to the requirements of our customers and offer the best in terms of design, technology, and performance. In regards to competitiveness, realme believes that healthy competition is good for everyone in order to grow further. It keeps the market competitive, permits brand evolution in terms of product engineering and ideologies, and—most importantly—provides customers with the greatest products at the lowest possible costs. So it’s not a case of ‘competitors vs. realme’ or the other way around. Only this strategy, we believe, can foster healthy competition that benefits everyone, including customers.

Please tell us about your target segment of your relevant audience and why so?

realme has been able to outperform other well-established companies by focusing on the global youth young courageous professionals, who are open to trying new things and dare to leap with us in different markets. realme believes in offering products that suit everyone’s budget without making a hole in their pocket. As a result, we have launched numerous series of feature-rich smartphones in the last four years. At this time, we offer everything that will meet everyone’s wants and expectations.

We have experienced an exhilarating journey over the past four years, and our growth has been exponential. We have enjoyed the ups and downs of this journey, and we are eager to see what lies ahead for our brand and the greater industry. In a huge leap, realme now is present in 63 countries & has a user base of 140 million users worldwide, 70 million of them from India. I would say that the key to this remarkable success lies in a very simple aspect: customer happiness & innovation in the product. Our users love what we are bringing to them, which is innovation in products and realme believes in interacting with its user base regularly via different platforms and seeks regular feedback so that we can deliver the best to them and I believe this mantra helped us till date to grow as one of the most loved brands by smartphone users in India.  We are proud to share that with each new product, we have been able to meet the needs of a new set of audiences, who are then embraced into the realme family.

It’s always been and will be our customer. realme’s aim has always been to provide products that can satisfy the diverse needs of our large customer base. As a brand, realme values the input and insights it receives from its customers and creates new products in response to users’ needs. So, the end product we introduce in the market is what our user is seeking and we address their need with the new innovation in the products.

There are many big old fat players in the Indian tech industry!! So we are very interested to know the realme’s insight over this fact and if it is a challenge or an opportunity for you.

As I mentioned earlier that realme believes in healthy competition and is not about the timing but the trust you built among users. realme recognized that user needs change over time, necessitating brand innovation and new product development. To step up the process, we envisioned creating a platform where our users can freely share their feedback, initiate conversation, users get regular product updates, basically, a one-stop platform for our users, and this is how we built realme community. This platform helped us in many ways like creating new products based on user needs, bringing users close to the brand, reaching out to a wider consumer set, etc.

We want to know what is the biggest challenge and the biggest opportunity, you consider while planning your business expansion in a market like India?

Our journey in the last four years has been nothing short of exciting, and we have grown exponentially. We have been able to carve out a niche for ourselves both domestically and globally in just four short years. We are really proud of the fact that Realme has been one of the few brands in recent months to experience positive growth. According to IDC statistics, we were recently ranked as the second-largest smartphone brand in India, and we are trying to maintain the position going forward.

With over 140 million users worldwide, 70 million of them are from India, and with the number rising daily, our user base in India and other nations has significantly increased. As we move into our second phase of expansion, we will concentrate on fostering targeted, long-term growth. We have developed a three-pronged plan for this that consists of market cultivation, optimizing e-commerce, and simply better strategy.

Additionally, we also see the 5G launch in India as an exciting opportunity for us1. We are already closely working with operators to test 5G services and look into bundling offers for customers. realme is very enthusiastic about the arrival of 5G, and we are working hard to provide this cutting-edge technology to as many users as we can.

What does realme strive for while launching a new product, is it the features, quality, price, or trend or is it the cocktail of all?

I’d say it’s a blend of all of them. A great product can only be described as having high-quality features that meet user needs while also being reasonably priced for them.

Trends nowadays are like waves of tsunamis, massive, powerful, and frequent!! So what are your views on this “ever-changing” & “non-lasting” trend environment?

Even if trends are continuously changing and evolving, it’s nevertheless fascinating to learn how rapidly customer tastes and preferences are changing. While the majority of trends keep on evolving, some do alter market dynamics permanently. Technology, especially digital technology and growing information processing capacity, is what’s driving the transition. Technologies by themselves do not alter business landscapes; rather, how they empower people does. For example, the smartphone industry looks drastically different today than it did three decades ago and the only constant this whole industry has understood is the need for constant innovation and addressing the constant needs of users with technology.

In such a competitive market, how does Realme set itself apart from the herd?

It’s about the consumer experience. Even if a company advocates cutting-edge strategy and innovative products, its efforts will be in vain if the experience is subpar. We looked at a number of variables and came to the conclusion that when a company works on each variable and combines several features like product design, touch, feel of the product, in-store premium experience, and finest customer service, it will provide people with the best experience. We wanted to change the definition of the customer experience in the smartphone industry. According to our opinion, the quality package you offer to your consumer at the most reasonable price range determines the experience. It is about providing experience, not about price. So, realme strives to give customers the best overall experience, regardless of the price range that a given product falls into.
