POCO X5 5G, POCO X5 Pro 5G specifications, Design leaked via marketing material ahead of launch

POCO has in store for us ahead of their much-awaited POCO X5 Pro launch in India on February 6th 05:30 pm (IST).

POCO X5 Pro Price

The event will be live streamed through the company’s social media channels.

Tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has tweeted a bunch of images which give us a glimpse of what the POCO X5 5G and the POCO X5 Pro 5G may have in store for us.

It turns out that the Poco X5 won’t be launching in India alongside its Pro sibling.

Instead, we’ll see the X5 in Europe.

So now the question is – will the X5 Pro be available in Europe too, or just India? There’s no answer to this yet, but at the rate the leaks are going we’ll surely find out in a few days at most.

Poco’s official teaser confirms that the X5 Pro will be available in the company’s iconic yellow colour. It also reveals that the Poco X5 Pro will go on sale through Flipkart after its launch in India.

While details surrounding the Poco X5 Pro are still under wraps, the recent announcement does reveal the phone’s design.

The official poster for the Poco X5 Pro reveals a large camera island on the back and a triple-camera setup with an LED flash module.

The back of the phone is reminiscent of Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition, which was unveiled earlier this year.

Past leaks also suggests that the Poco X5 Pro will feature the same specifications as the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition.

The images reveal the specifications of the phone as well as its design.

According to the tipster, the POCO X5 Pro price in India is said to be in range of Rs 21,000 and Rs 23,000, excluding any bank offers. The phone will be available in three models: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB model.

He states that the first sale of the device will kick off on February 11, after the price reveal on February 6.

POCO X5 5G and POCO X5 Pro 5G Specifications

POCO X5 Pro 5G

The leaks seem to have been sourced from POCO X5 5G’s marketing materials. It reveals that the device will most likely feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Other display features that the device is expected to offer include 1200 nits of brightness and a 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut.

The brand has also revealed performance numbers of the Poco X5 Pro by posting its AnTuTu score of 545,093 points.

AnTuTu score

Ithas compared the performance of the device equipped with the Snapdragon 778G to other devices equipped with MediaTek’s new Dimensity 1080 chip.

This is definitely a shot at smartphones that have recently launched with the Dimensity 1080 SoC on board like the Realme 10 Pro series and the Redmi Note 12 Pro series.

The phone is tipped to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC. The leaks suggest that the device will pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

In terms of optics, the phone is expected to offer a triple-rear camera setup with a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera. It is also expected to offer a 13MP camera at the front.

The tipster also notes that the marketing materials were initially in a “non-english” language and were translated using Google translate. When asked about the availability of the vanilla POCO X5 in India, Ambhore replied that the phone will launch in Europe.

The Indian launch of the phone is doubtful as the POCO only launched the POCO X4 Pro 5G in India.

Even on the official Indian website, the company is only promoting the POCO X5 Pro, which seems to suggest that this will be the only device to launch in India.

POCO X5 Pro Price

The company has confirmed that a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC will power the phone. Ambhore’s leaks build upon that by suggesting that the device will get a triple-rear camera setup with a 108MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera.

The device is expected to offer a 16MP front camera.

Other leaked features include support for 67W fast charging.

Both the phones are expected to launch globally on February 6th.

iPhone 15 Pro Max / iPhone 15 Ultra Launching with Apple First ever Periscope Camera

0
iPhone 15 Pro Max

Periscope camera would only be limited to iPhone 15 Pro Max / iPhone 15 Ultra, claims analyst

  • Apple is expected to release its first periscope camera with the iPhone 15 Pro Max / iPhone 15 Ultra.
  • With the new technology, the iPhone 15 Pro Max / Ultra could have up to 6x optical zoom.
  • The iPhone 15 series will rxelease in the second half of the year.

Tech giant Apple plans to unveil the iPhone 15 lineup in the second half of 2023, and it is expected to be the first series from Apple to feature a periscope camera. In a recent tweet, renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed the tech giant will limit the periscope lens only to the highest-end model launched by the company, which will also be the convention in the iPhone 16 series.

The iPhone 15 series is expected to consist of four smartphones – iPhone 15, iPhone 15
Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will likely be renamed iPhone 15 Ultra.

What Is A Smartphone Periscope Camera? And How Does It Work?

iPhone 15 Pro Max

Simply put, a periscope camera (also referred to as a periscope zoom lens) in a smartphone refers to a mobile phone camera unit which, due to employing a prism mirror system, extends its focal length by positioning the image sensor and zooms lens array sideways.

This limits the protuberance at the back of the phone while providing greater optical zoom than usually found on a typical smartphone camera.

The first mainstream smartphone to feature a periscope zoom camera is popularly believed to be 2019’s Huawei’s P30 Pro, although Oppo unveiled this technology at the Mobile World Congress back in 2017.

However, some people believe that smartphone periscope camera technology dates back to 2004 with sharp 902 mobile phone which had 2x optical zoom. This is pretty impressive given that the first camera phone had hit the market only a few years earlier.

What is a periscope zoom lens?

iPhone 15 Pro Max

The smartphone periscope camera is sometimes called a periscope zoom lens. This is mainly because of how the smartphone camera’s zoom lens array is positioned. To better understand this, let’s look at how typical mobile camera components are arranged.

On the back of a smartphone, you’ll find the round space(s) where the camera unit is installed and fitted with a protective glass/plastic layer that protects the lens(es) and the camera unit as a whole.

When the camera captures light information to create a picture, it enters the camera straight on and goes directly through the lens array and then onto the smartphone camera sensor.

How does Periscope Camera Work ?

iPhone 15 Pro Max

To understand this better, think of what the word periscope is most associated with– submarines. Submarine periscopes are basically bent tubes with mirrors used to see what’s happening above the water from below the surface. The mirrors are placed at an angle at the corners of the pipes and reflect light as it enters until it reaches the eye via an array of lenses.

A periscope camera works similar to submarine periscopes. A mirror system is installed where the lens would have normally been. So, instead of having light enter the camera directly through the lens and then onto the camera, the periscope system takes the incoming light and reflects it 90 degrees through the lens array and onto the sensor.

Periscope zoom vs optical zoom vs digital zoom Optical zoom relies on moving mechanical and glass elements to achieve magnification with minimal loss in picture quality. When the glass elements that make up the lens array move back and forth in relation to each other, you can capture a wide shot of the scene or a more zoomed-in shot.

With digital zoom, this is not possible because there are no moving glass elements that can magnify the image. To make up for this, the camera crops the image and enlarges it.

It then uses computational photography to fill in the rest of the pixel information that is missing. However, the results aren’t as good as with optical zoom. Periscope zoom on smartphone cameras is similar in operation to optical zoom in that it has a lens array with multiple lenses that move back and forth to zoom in and out optically. The difference is the focal length of these two systems.

The further you zoom in, the more the focal length increases. This is why telephoto lenses for DSLR cameras are so long. They can range from about 70mm to upwards of 300mm, which is very long.

iPhone 15 Pro Max / iPhone 15 Ultra Camera

iPhone 15 Pro Max

The analyst stated on Twitter that Apple would release its first periscope camera with the iPhone 15 Pro Max / Ultra, implying that the lens will be a key differentiator between the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max / iPhone 15 Ultra, thereby giving buyers an additional incentive to buy the most expensive model. A periscope lens is said to provide optical zoom capabilities allowing for 5x or even 10x optical zoom.

With the new technology, the iPhone 15 Pro Max / Ultra could have up to 6x optical zoom.
A previous report also indicated the same information. However, the tweet from the analyst contradicts recent information from The Elec, which claimed that the periscope camera would be available on both the iPhone 16 Pro Max / Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro.

What’s the Big Deal about a Periscope Camera?

iPhone 15 Pro Max

The technology refracts light onto the lens sensor for magnification, with the lens mechanics built into the inside of the smartphone rather than the outside, as a traditional zoom lens for a DSLR does. It has progressed to the point where lenses in smartphones are compact enough to fit into a standard lens enclosure and do not take up too much internal space.

However, Apple wont be the first smartphone brand to bring this technology as it has already been seen in smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra models, the Google Pixel 7 Pro and 6 Pro, OnePlus 10 Ultra and a few others. OPPO was the first to introduce the periscope lens technology and it was first seen on a mainstream phone on the 2019 Huawei P30 Pro. The company’s new technology, dubbed 5x, manages to cram a telephoto lens inside a smartphone, enabling 5x “lossless” zooming.

iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra Specifications (Expected)

iPhone 15 Pro Max

All iPhone 15 series models may feature the Dynamic Island introduced with the iPhone 14
Pro models. However, the iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra will come with features like an A17 chipset, increased RAM, a titanium frame, solid-state buttons, and much more.

A recent report said that Apple is working on 8K video recording, but it’s unclear if this is just for the iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra or the iPhone 15 Pro. The report also said that Apple might be working on making the iPhone Ultra’s battery last up to 3-4 hours longer. The same report also stated that the tech giant might raise the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra to $1,199, up from $1,099 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Nothing Ear 2 TWS Earbuds Renders Leaked Online, Reveal Similar Design

Nothing is back in the news, with Nothing CEO Carl Pei confirming that NOTHING PHONE (2) will be “more premium” and will be launched in late 2023.

Away from all this, we got our hand’s on Nothing Ear 2 Buds product images along with all the feature details. The Nothing Ear 2 is the successor of the Nothing Ear 1 TWS (true wireless) earbuds, which stood out for their unusual see-through appearance and excellent sound quality given its affordability.

Much earlier than the Nothing Phone 2, Nothing could launch the Nothing ear (2) TWS.
We were given exclusive access to Nothing Ear 2 render photos by reputable and well-known tipster Steve H. McFly (aka Onleaks).

The audio wearable’s exterior has seen minor alterations in the Nothing ear (2) pictures.
The company is all set to foray into the US market later this year.

The brand started off its journey with the launch of Nothing Ear (1) in 2021 and now it looks like the successor might be launching soon, though we don’t have a timeline yet. The Nothing Ear (2) Buds renders have surfaced online, courtesy of noted leakster OnLeaks in association with Smartprix.

The first impression of the TWS earbuds is that the brand is retaining a familiar design with a transparent look.

As said, the design hasn’t changed much except for some minor alterations. The only visible change to the external design is the placement of the noise-cancelling microphone, which was previously on the top and has now been moved to near the red-colour marking on the front.

The Nothing Ear (2) boasts of a similar design as the Nothing Ear (1). The carry case has a transparent look so do the earbuds. Other than the noise-cancelling microphone, the design is almost identical to the predecessor. If you liked the Nothing Ear (1) design, you will definitely like the Nothing Ear (2) as well.

Nothing Ear 2 Features

Though the design hasn’t changed much, the publication reports some new features and inclusions. The Nothing Ear 2 will come with personalised ANC support, which allows users to have the freedom to set the level of noise cancellation as per their preference. There will also be a Transparency Mode, which as the name suggests will let the ambient noise in while listening to music.

The Nothing Ear 2 Buds will have support for dual connectivity, which means users can connect with two devices simultaneously, and the user can switch between them seamlessly.

Lastly, Nothing is also adding support for Advanced EQ with the custom settings and the Find Earbuds Feature.

Nothing Ear 1 vs Nothing Ear 2 buds: What Changed in Design?

Well, the only external difference we can see in the adjustment Nothing team made with the placement of the noise-canceling microphone which was at the top previously no has been moved to near the red color marking on the front.

Minor adjustments have been made in the visible part of the internal components (highlighted yellow and orange).

How to recover deleted / archived WhatsApp chats on Android and iPhone – Step by Step Guide on WhatsApp Chat Recovery

WhatsApp is a popular messaging app and almost everyone with a smartphone uses it. The Facebook-owned messaging app has over 1.5 billion monthly active users globally.

WhatsApp is a feature-packed application and new features are added to the app regularly. One of its basic features is its ability to clear all messages, whether it is private messages or group messages at once.

It is easy to clear all the messages at once, without having to select messages one by one. However, you may have accidentally deleted some important messages and now want to recover them.

Today, we will look at ways to restore deleted WhatsApp messages for Android and iOS users. We will use the most recent backup to restore messages on WhatsApp. It is to be noted that you will lose messages that were received after your last backup. WhatsApp allows you to delete any chat or message on the online messaging platform.

If you delete an important WhatsApp message or chat by accident or lose it inadvertently when resetting or changing your device don’t worry you won’t lose those messages forever & there is an option to recover them.

From Google Drive

When retrieving deleted WhatsApp chat messages from Google Drive, you need to ensure that you’re using the same phone number and Google account used to create the backup.

Here’s how you can recover WhatsApp chat backup from Google Drive on Android:

1. Uninstall WhatsApp from your Android device and then, reinstall.
2. Now, open the app and enter your registered WhatsApp number to sign in. Type in the OTP received on the same number for verification.
3. Post verification, you’ll get a prompt to restore your chat backup from Google Drive. Tap on Restore to initiate the recovery process.
4. Once the initialisation is complete, tap on Next to find all your chats.
WhatsApp will continue to download media files including photos, videos, documents and more on your Android smartphone in the background.

From Local Backup

If you don’t have your chat history backed up on Google Drive, WhatsApp will automatically pull the same from your local backup file.

You’ll need to transfer the backup WhatsApp files to your Android phone using a file explorer, computer or SD card. Follow these steps:

1.Download a file manager app on your Android phone or open the one that already comes pre-installed with your device, if any.
2.In the app, navigate to the /sdcard/WhatsApp/Databases or Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp/Backups for Android 12 and above devices.
3.From the list of backup files, copy the most recent one and paste it in the Databases folder in the internal storage of your existing or new device.

4. Now, uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp on your Android phone and log in using your registered phone number.

Uninstall WhatsApp

5. When prompted, tap the Restore option to recover all your deleted or missing chats from the local backup.

Note: Your phone’s internal storage automatically stores last seven days’ WhatsApp history in local backup files. This backup is created every day at 2.00 am and saved as a file.

How to Recover Deleted WhatsApp Chats on iPhone

    • 6. Before you go on to follow the below-mentioned steps, you need to verify that you have an iCloud backup for WhatsApp in the first place. Open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Chats > Chat Backup. If you find that the backup was performed, proceed as mentioned below:
    • 7. Uninstall WhatsApp from your iPhone by choosing Remove App > Delete App.
  • 8. Now, go to the App Store and reinstall messenger on your phone. Once the installation is complete, open the app and verify your phone number.

9. Follow the prompts to recover your deleted or missing messages from iCloud.

How to Recover Deleted Media on WhatsApp

Following the above-mentioned ways to recover WhatsApp messages on Android and iOS will mostly retrieve any deleted media from your chats as well.

But if that doesn’t work, it is possible to find them either in your phone’s internal storage or on the cloud storage.

Here’s our guide on how you can recover deleted media from WhatsApp chat history:

On Android

1. Go to File Manager > WhatsApp > Media and you might find the deleted photos you want to recover in one of the folders.

2. Take a look inside your phone’s Gallery app (Albums > WhatsApp).
3. Check Google Photos if you have turned on the automatic camera upload feature.
4. If you have enabled the Save to Camera Roll feature in WhatsApp, you might find a backup copy of the deleted images in Photos app.
5. If you have enabled image backup on iCloud, you may want to check inside Camera Roll, Camera Uploads or a similar folder on the cloud.

How to Backup WhatsApp Messages

By now, you must already know that you can only restore deleted WhatsApp messages and media if you have your chats backed up on cloud storage.

Even though WhatsApp creates a local backup every night on Android devices, it won’t be of any use if you end up losing the phone.

Therefore, it is vital that you create a cloud backup on Google Drive or iCloud.

Read on to know how you can backup WhatsApp messages on Google Drive and iCloud:

On Google Drive (For Android users)

1. Open WhatsApp and tap the three-dot icon at the top-right for more options.

2. Go to Settings > Chats > Chat Backup and select Back up to Google Drive.

3. On the page that opens, select a backup frequency from Daily, Weekly or Monthly.

4. Next, choose the Google account where you’d like to back up your WhatsApp chat history (or Add account if you haven’t linked your phone to any Google account).

1. Now, select Back up over and click on the network you wish to use for backups. (It is preferable to use a stable Wi-Fi connection for backup rather than cellular data.)

2. If you wish to manually back up your WhatsApp chats to Google Drive at any time, just open the app, open the three-dot menu, and tap Settings > Chat > Chat Backup > Back up.
3. Open WhatsApp and tap the Settings tab at the bottom.
4 .Go to Chats > Chat Backup and select Auto Backup.
5. Now, select a backup frequency from Daily, Weekly or Monthly.

WhatsApp on iOS also gives you the option to include or exclude videos from the backup. It might take a while for the iCloud backup process to complete so it is better to use Wi-Fi. In case you wish to create a manual iCloud backup of your WhatsApp chats at any time, open WhatsApp, go to the Settings menu, and tap Chats > Chat Backup > Back Up Now.

Note: Every time a new backup file is created, WhatsApp deletes older backup files. Android phones store backup files for up to seven days’ while iPhone keeps only the latest one.

How to Recover Archived Chats in WhatsApp

Before we look at recovering deleted WhatsApp messages, there’s a chance that you might have just archived a missing chat, not deleted it.

But what’s the difference?

Archiving removes the chat from your list, allowing you to hide conversations that you’re done with for now.

You can unarchive a chat at any time to access it again, and archiving doesn’t delete anything in the chat.

Conversely, deleting a chat erases its contents, so they’re no longer accessible to you.

On iPhone, when you archive a chat, you can immediately reverse the archival by shaking your device and choosing Undo to recover the archived chat.

But even if you miss this, it’s easy to retrieve archived WhatsApp chats later.

FAQ’s on WhatsApp Chat Restore

1) Can I restore WhatsApp messages from Google Drive to iPhone?

Ans) There is no official method from WhatsApp, as Google Drive-based WhatsApp backups are incompatible with iOS devices. Again though, many paid third-party apps claim to be able to do it. Take these claims with a pinch of salt, though.

If you can’t find any backup file for WhatsApp on your Google Drive, please check that:

* You are logged into the same Google account you used to create the backup.
* You are using the same phone number that was used for creating the backup.
* Your chat history or SD card is corrupted.
* You have enabled the Chat Backup option on WhatsApp.

If you’re unable to restore a WhatsApp backup file from Google Drive, verify the following:

* You’re using the same Google account and phone number used for backup creation.
* There is enough free space on your device to save the backup files.
* You’ve installed Google Play services on your Android device.
* You’re using a strong and stable internet connection, preferably Wi-Fi, for backups.
* Your smartphone is 100% charged or plugged into a power source.

2) Can I recover WhatsApp messages without a backup?

Ans) You need to have a backup of some description. Because of end-to-end encryption, WhatsApp doesn’t keep copies of your messages on its servers. Plus, from a cost point of view, it’s cheaper to leverage Google Drive or iCloud as backup options. If you haven’t backed up to the cloud, you’ll need to have a backup in your internal storage or SD card. But this only applies to Android devices.
The only way to recover your deleted WhatsApp messages is if you’ve backed them up. In case you’ve forgotten to enable the Chat Backup option, the chats will be lost forever.

3) Can I restore WhatsApp messages from Android to iPhone?

Ans) WhatsApp has recently finally brought out the much-requested feature to transfer message history from Android to IPhone .

4) Why am I unable to restore iCloud backup?

Ans) If you’re unable to restore the backup of your WhatsApp from iCloud, verify the following:

* You’re using the same phone number and iCloud ID used for creating the backup.
* There is enough free space on your iCloud and your device to restore the backup.
* You’re using a strong and stable network, preferably Wi-Fi, for backups.
* Turn iCloud Drive off and then back on from iPhone settings.
* You’re using an iPhone with iOS 12 or above, if the backup was created using iCloud Drive
* Log out of your iCloud, reboot the phone and then sign back in.

5) Can I recover older deleted WhatsApp chats from local backup?

Ans) Only Android devices allow you to restore older WhatsApp chats since they give you access to their local backup files. Here are the steps to restore chat backups from a later date:

* Download a file manager app or open the one pre-installed on your Android phone.
* In the app, go to WhatsApp > Databases under sd card or internal storage folder.
* From the list, find the backup file you wish to restore and rename it from msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt12 to db.crypt12. (Remember to not change the crypt extension or any other part of the name barring the date).
* Now, uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp on your Android smartphone.
* Log in with your mobile number and follow the prompts to initiate backup restore.

6) Does WhatsApp keep your messages?

Ans) When you delete a message on WhatsApp, it disappears. However, it isn’t gone forever. Your messages get stored in the cloud (Google Drive or iCloud). They also get stored on your device. For these reasons, you can recover your deleted WhatsApp messages even if you need a third-party service.

7) I reinstalled the app, but none of my messages appeared. What’s happening?

Ans) When you follow the instructions above to uninstall the app and reinstall it, you must log in to the correct account. Using a different email, phone, or phone number is the likely culprit of your missing messages.

As shown above, open the WhatsApp Settings and tap on Chats. Then tap on Chat Backup. You can verify the last time WhatsApp saved your chats and the email address associated with that backup.

8) What Can You Do With Wutsapper?

Ans) As mentioned, Wutsapper has a couple more features that can come in handy, besides recovering any deleted messages.

One of the features is Android to iPhone, which allows you to transfer all data between phones. You can do this by using a USB-C to Lightning cable or by using the desktop toolkit. You can also make the transfer the other way around – from iPhone to Android.
Wutsapper will also help you operate multiple WhatsApp accounts on the same device or the same account on different devices, depending on the situation you’re in.

6. To access all recoverable data, you also need to root your smartphone.
7. WARNING: Rooting a phone basically grants you developer access on your device, unlocking options, files and settings usually not available to users. It also isn’t a completely safe process, so a backup of all your phone’s data before attempting this is strongly advised.
8. Next, go to “Device Ready to Scan” and choose whether you want to do a “Quick Scan” or a “Deep Scan”.

13) How to Recover WhatsApp Messages to Preserve Memories

This is why the advanced backup strategy is worth setting up if you’re an Android user. iPhone owners don’t have as many options.

Now that you know you won’t lose any WhatsApp messages in the future, it’s a good idea to discover some of WhatsApp’s other cool features that aren’t immediately visible.

14) How to Export Retrieved WhatsApp Messages and Return to the Latest Backup?

Ans) When you walk through the above, you’ll lose any messages created since the backup you restored. If you only performed that process to restore a few deleted messages, and don’t want to lose recent messages, you can export the retrieved chat messages and then restore WhatsApp to the latest backup. You’ll have to run through the entire process again, but it’s not difficult.

To export messages, open the chat containing the messages you want to save. Tap the three-dot Menu button at the top-right, followed by More > Export chat.

If the chat has media, you’ll see an option to export Without media or to Include media.
Including media will add all recent images as attachments, which obviously increases the size of the export file. You can export up to 10,000 messages with media, or 40,000 messages without media.

After you make your choice, choose an app on your phone to share the text file (and attachments, if applicable) containing your messages. You can email this to yourself, add it to cloud storage, or similar. Repeat this for any other chats with messages you want to save.

Once you’re done exporting, follow the steps in the above section again to access your WhatsApp backups. When you come to renaming the backup files, reverse the process.
Rename the existing msgstore.db.crypt12 (which contains the messages you retrieved) to msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt12, using today’s date. In case there’s already a file with today’s date, use DD.2 instead.

Next, rename msgstore-latest.db.crypt12 (the latest backup created when you started) back to msgstore.db.crypt12.

Uninstall WhatsApp, delete your Google Drive backup again if needed, and reinstall the app. After you restore from backup, your latest chats will reappear. The messages you exported won’t appear inside WhatsApp, but you can at least see them in the text file whenever you need them.
