The Realme Pad from last year was easily one of my most recommended option for people looking at the sub Rs 15,000 market.
This time around with the Pad 2, the company has done some stellar improvements that is surely going to make the tablet a crowd favourite for its starting price of Rs 19,999.

Realme Pad 2: Unboxing
The unboxing experience of the Realme Pad 2 is quite standard. Opening the box, you see the tabletplaced on the top.
It is packaged expertly in a translucent cover that comes off quite easily. We have received the Inspiration Green colour variant which looks quite good from the outside.
Below the tablet are two compartments, one of which houses a 33W white charger and companion USB Type-C cable.
The second compartment has the regular paperwork, involving an operational manual, and a SIM ejector toolkit.
Realme Pad 2: Design and Display
Realme Pad 2: Design
Let’s first look at how well the Realme Pad 2 is crafted. Its extremely thin and light design make it a handy companion when you are travelling.
With just 7.2mm in thickness the device is quite easy to hold although the rest of its dimensions may want you to prop it on a table for better utility.
Currently no case or keyboard folio is on offer for the Pad 2 although it’s likely that Realme can announce both in the future. The construction on the tablet is metallic in nature which gives it a sturdy look.
Inspiration Green colour scheme
From a durability standpoint the tablet’s exterior is quite firm and doesn’t bend even when considerable force is applied on both sides.
The tablet weighs just above 500g, which is decent enough for device with a 11.5-inch screen.
As mentioned above, we quite like the Inspiration Green colour scheme which is present in two shades of floral green. The portion with a lighter shade runs vertically down the camera module while the darker tone is present across the rest of the back.
On the bottom you can spot a Type-C port for charging purposes and it is flanked on either side with speakers.
The top edge also has a couple of speaker grills, which provide the tablet with stereo sound, and there is the power button on the side.
Realme Pad 2 Display
Apart from that the camera housing encloses a single sensor even though the size of the camera hump falsely suggests room for more optics. Also the camera ring does jut out ever so slightly from the back.
Talking a bit about the viewing experience, we did enjoy the expansive screen offered on the Realme Pad 2. What’s more it is the only device in its segment to offer an 11.5-inch screen with full 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Any operation or swiping or just navigation in general is extremely fluid on the panel. Realme also claims to display 1 billion colours on the Pad 2 thanks to the O1 Ultra Vision Engine.
Realme Pad 2 Side View
While there is no HDR capability on offer, the content we viewed on the tablet was punchy in its colour reproduction and quite vivid.
Brightness levels of 450nits can be achieved which we feel is good enough for indoor usage.
Apart from that bezels surrounding the panel are relatively trim and offer enough space to place your fingers without incurring accidental touches.
Realme Pad 2: Features and Software
Realme Pad 2: Features
The device is meant for usage in landscape mode and most of the tablet’s UI elements are catered to accomplish that.
We checked apps like Chrome, YouTube, and several of the pre-installed Realme applications, all of which utilise the Tab 2’s large screen real estate.
On Chrome the interface is quite akin to what you experience on a PC or a laptop with tabs present on the top half. YouTube is similar as well with the a list of recommended videos displayed alongside the main video that is playing.
Realme UI 4.0, based on Android 13 is running on the tablet. There are of course the familiar issues of bloatware that plague the device but apart from that the interface is actually quite nice to use.
The multitasking capabilities of this system offer a range of convenient features. With Split Screen, you can effortlessly use two apps simultaneously side by side.
Realme Pad 2 Software
Additionally, the Flexible Window feature allows you to create floating windows within apps, making multitasking even more intuitive.
For quick access to functions and apps, the compact Smart Sidebar panel comes in handy.
Moreover, the Reading Mode enhances the e-reading experience by replicating the texture of real book pages, providing users with a comfortable and eye-friendly interface that closely resembles reading a physical book.
On the back you can also find an 8MP camera which is not the best for any great photography needs but can be used for a standard point and shoot experience.
The 5MP selfie shooter is at the centre of the top-bezel, an ideal position for effective video calling, which the device accomplishes without a hitch.
Realme Pad 2 Back Panel
The device also has 4G LTE functionality and you can insert a nanoSIM inside the tablet to have internet on the go. We did test it out on Jio’s Noida network and got decent download speeds.
The audio quality on the Realme Pad 2 is also quite impressive. Its quad-speaker setup has very good depth and also reasonably good bass, while the volume can get pretty loud without cracking up.
Together the massive display and the audio setup make the Pad 2 a very competent media consumption machine.
Realme Pad 2: Performance and Battery
Realme Pad 2 Battery
Running underneath the hood is a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, a capable budget chipset that has been efficient on several smartphones before.
This also includes a few phones from the Realme stable as well. While our testing process does include benchmark numbers to give a more quantitative analysis of the performance of a device, for some reason none of our standard apps were downloading on the tablet.
However, in general, our usage was relatively smooth, helped, of course, by the fluid 120Hz panel. App switching was fast as were their opening speeds.
The 8GB of RAM also aids with the several Chrome tabs that we operated while testing the device.
You can increase this memory via virtual swap with the internal storage so that the total operational RAM becomes up to 16GB.
A Perfect Tablet For The Budget Audience
We also tried BGMIon the tablet and it ran effectively at 45fps while graphics were set at Ultra.
Of course, there is scope for improvement in the performance aspect of the device and users with more processing needs might not be entirely satisfied with the Pad 2’s output.
As for the battery life, the device’s 8,360mAh cell makes the tablet quite easily a two day device, if all you are doing is browsing media content and social media.
I kept the device running at 120Hz and at about 60 percent screen brightness the entire time, for this battery test.
Charging up the device with the 33W charger in the box is slightly slow and takes more than three hours to completely juice up.
Final Verdict
Realme Pad 2 Screen Quality
For its starting price of Rs 19,999, the Realme Pad 2 is actually a very good deal. It certainly has a spec sheet that imbibes Realme’s philosophy of providing the best bang for the buck.
Chief amongst them is a 11.5-inch 2K panel that refreshes at 120Hz, a feature that no other tablet is offering in the segment.
There’s also the design aspect of the tablet which makes it quite ergonomical to use although having a case provided alongside would help a lot.
Performance did not feel lacking although a better chipset could have been used in my opinion.
Realme Pad 2 Rear Camera
The software is modified effectively for tablet usage, but Realme still insists on using a lot of its own pre-installed apps.
As for the battery life, it is in the acceptable range, and I’m really impressed with the speaker setup on offer.
Overall, the Realme Pad 2 gets my thumbs up as an effective media consumption tool under Rs 20,000.

* Future iPhones may come without any visible bezels on the front. * Apple is already in discussions with display suppliers such as LG and Samsung for the development of the new technology. * It could also implement an under-display camera, a major revamp in the internals would be required.
A future iPhone could have an extremely expansive display, with Apple asking its suppliers to develop a version that loses the need for a front bezel at all.
When Apple introduced the edge-to-edge display in its iPhone X, the company considerably increased the amount of the front of the iPhone dedicated to the display.
If Apple’s intentions for a future iteration come true, there could be even less space wasted by non-display elements.
In a Monday report from TheElec, Apple has made a request to screen suppliers Samsung Display and LG Display to develop a version of an OLED display that eliminates front bezels completely.
As part of the same request, Apple also wants improvements to the Thin Film Encapsulation (TFE) and under-panel camera (UPC) technologies. It also wants a more secure antenna space on top.
Both Samsung and LG are said to be working on the bezel-less OLEDs, as per Apple’s request.
Tipster IceIniverse that apple is in touch with South Korean Display Suppliers ( Samsung & LG)
While Samsung has progressed with a curved edge display in its smartphones, a technique other vendors have also used, Apple apparently rejected the technology.
This was seemingly due to an optical distortion of the technique and an increased vulnerability to external shocks.
Creating a flat bezel-less display has its challenges, such as making the outer film encapsulation thinner and some limitations of UPC tech, including making components like the camera indistinguishable from the rest of the display.
Making the TFE thinner is a challenge since it consists of a tacking of inorganic and organic films, with the first blocking moisture and oxygen and the second increasing its flexibility.
iPhone with an under Display Camera
Thinning the inorganic film makes it harder to block moisture while doing the same to the organic film makes it tougher to block fine gaps in the inorganic film.
A thinner TFE process also makes it harder to add touch electrodes required for such displays to operate.
It is unclear when Apple will incorporate such displays into its product lineup, but it will probably take a few cycles to properly surface.
TheElec does have a good record when it comes to supply chain rumors, and less so for feature claims. It’s framed the rumor as stemming from the supply chain, making it more believable than not.
Apple iPhone Bezels Are Getting Smaller, But Will They Ever Totally Disappear?
Example Concept
As you know, Apple prefers to focus on developing its own technology rather than manufacturing it.
This means they rely on manufacturers like Foxconn and TSMC to actually make their products like iPhone and Mac.
The story is similar for screen technologies. The company doesn’t make their own screens, so they work with companies like Samsung and LG.
So, if the tech giant wants to make a phone with a bezel-less OLED display, they’ll have to collaborate with these competitors.
However, creating an iPhone with no bezels is not an easy task. To achieve this, Apple would need to move all the electronic parts that currently live in the bezel to underneath the screen.
Future Of Display-Bezel Less iPhone
This involves making big advancements in two technologies called “Thin Film Encapsulation” and Under Panel Camera.
TFE, is like a protective coat for the screen, made of several thin layers of special materials.
This “coat” protects the OLED screen from getting damaged by moisture and oxygen. Apple is asking for these protective layers to be even thinner than they are now.
In this way, the company plans to achieve a full-screen experience not only by making the frames thin by simply arranging the circuits, but also by placing sensors such as the front camera and Face ID under the screen.
Although similar technology is already used in some Android models, the image clarity is not up to par due to insufficiently thin screen layers. Imagine looking through a window with a mosquito net; you can see outside, but the net affects the view’s quality.
Completely Bezel Less iPhone with a Glass Unibody
This could be a problem for a phone known for its camera quality. And it’s not just Apple; other big players like Samsung, Huawei, and Vivo also believe this technology needs more development before it’s ready for their top-tier models.
Furthermore, there are additional concerns to address. Apple is reportedly worried about potential antenna interference, which is a critical issue.
Plastic is an excellent material for signal transmission, which is why we can find plastic lines on the stainless steel frames used in iPhones. However, these lines have faced criticism in the past due to their negative impact on the phone’s durability.
Despite using plastic frames on the display for smooth signal traffic, they may not be enough to solve the problem.
Relocating the antennas beneath the display could lead to interference with cellular and Wi-Fi signals, creating further complications.
Crystal Vision- iPhone that will look Liker “Piece of GlasS”
As a result, the development of the much-awaited ‘bezel-less’ iPhone might take an extended period to complete. Consequently, Apple’s plans for releasing a smartphone with a bezel-less OLED display remain uncertain.
Nevertheless, reports suggest that the company is actively collaborating with Samsung Display and LG Display to overcome these technical challenges.
If they succeed, Apple’s bezel-less iPhone would undoubtedly mark a significant innovation in the smartphone market.
iPhone with an under-display camera : Will this wish come true Another difficulty would be applying an even thinner touch sensor technology. An Under Panel Camera (UPC) could be implemented by this future generation of iPhones.
Samsung uses an early version of this technology for their Galaxy Z Fold seriesof devices and has named it UDC.
Future iPhone to have no Bezels
However, there are quality concerns as the display pixels block a good amount of light that can enter the camera sensorand the hole is still clearly visible at certain angles.
This new generation of panels would greatly help iPhone seem like a sleek slab of glass with an uninterrupted display.
The full range of the new iPhone 15 series is expected to adopt the Dynamic Island which is the shape of a pill at the top of the display.
iPhone 15 series is also expected to feature much thinner bezels than its predecessors.
Apple iPhone Bezels-Smaller or No More
Faqs
1) Is Apple in talks with Samsung and LG for the supply of new panel technology?
Ans) The trillion-dollar company is apparently looking for a design that completely eliminates the bezels on the front of the device.
Apple is looking into panels that will appear to users like a piece of glass slab and continue with flat edges for their devices. The brand is not interested in curved displays similar to what Samsung and Chinese phones implement due to image distortion and durability issues.
Tipster Ice Universe tweeted that Apple is in touch with South Korean display suppliers, Samsung and LG Displays for the new technology.
The major challenge with the development would be bending all the circuits present in the bezel of the screen.
Further, antenna interference would need to be taken care of.
A new generation of TFE (thin film encapsulation for AMOLED displays) would need to be implemented to ensure that moisture and oxygen do not affect the screen.
2) Apple pushing suppliers to develop truly ‘bezel-less’ iPhone displays.Detailed Report ?
Ans) While iPhone bezels have gotten significantly smaller over the last several years, Apple wants its suppliers to do even more. According to a new supply chain report today, Apple is pushing Samsung and LG to develop technology that would truly make iPhone displays “bezel-less.”
The report comes via The Elec, which says that Apple has requested that LG Display and Samsung Display “develop OLED that removes all iPhone front bezels.”
To do this, Samsung and LG would need to improve different aspects of the iPhone display hardware, including the thin-film encapsulation and under-panel camera hardware. “It is a technology that still needs time to be applied for mass production,” the report explains.
The report goes on to explain that Apple is opposed to employing the curved edge displays used by Samsung on its flagship smartphones. In Samsung’s case, the company uses a “magnifying glass effect” around the edge of the phone display to make it appear truly bezel-less. Apple, however, has been “reluctant” to use this same approach.
Without applying a curved display like this, it is said that in order to implement the bezel design that Apple wants, it is possible to bend all of the circuits currently in the bezel area under the display. At this time, we need to free up antenna space and solve the interference problem.
Challenges to implement the bezel-less screen include thin film bag (TFE) and underpanel camera (UPC) technology. Product outer thin film bags should be thinner than they are now, and UPCs can be made so that they are not easily distinguished from the rest of the display to expand user immersion.
While these plans are further down the line, Apple is still aiming to significantly reduce the size of the bezel on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Even doing this, however, has led to production issues, particularly for LG. A report last week suggested that the iPhone 15 Pro could face severe supply shortages due to production issues for the new display technology.
Netflix’s password sharing crackdown has begun in India and it aims to tackle unauthorised access of one account by multiple users.
Stricter security measures are going to be implemented to detect suspicious login patterns for devices that are outside a set household.
The limit on simultaneous streaming devices will still apply in India as per the subscription plan.
Similar practices have already been implemented by Netflix in the US market and surprisingly it has seen a rise in subscriber growth
Undoubtedly, Netflix, the OTT giant, has revolutionised the consumption of video content. With an extensive collection of movies, TV shows, and original content, all just a click away, it has rightfully earned its reputation as a pioneering platform in the world of online streaming.
However, with the rise of several new players in the OTT industry, such as Amazon,HBO, Disney and more, Netflix’s market share is dwindling.
Add to that a very big issue that has persistently challenged the streaming giant is password sharing.
With multiple users often sharing a single account, Netflix basically is faced with significant revenue losses that are further making it lose ground on its competitors.
Taking a bold stance, the company announced a sweeping password sharing crackdown that commenced in May with the United States.
Many users thought that it would be the end of Netflix and that its subscribers would move to other platforms rather than paying for the service.
The effect has been the opposite with Netflix announcing that it gained a whopping 5.9 million subscribers in the second quarter of 2023.
It would appear that users are now willing to shell out money and get a Netflix subscription rather than moving towards the competition.
Now the American streaming giant’s password crackdown shenanigans are coming to India as well.
Let’s explore the implications of this move by Netflix, its potential impact on users, and the broader industry implications it may bring.
What will Netflix’s password crackdown entail?
Netflix’s password crackdown entail
It used to be extremely easy for several users to log into one account if they knew the password. Netflix is now going to limit it to one household only.
The company said on its website “Everyone living in that household can use Netflix wherever they are — at home, on the go, on holiday — and take advantage of new features like Transfer Profile and Manage Access and Devices.”
So, what exactly defines a household and how will members be able to log on to Netflix when they are outside?
Basically, Netflix will be using the users’ IP address, account activity and other identifiers to know if the device you are using to log in is from the same household.
Once it has registered the number of users in a particular household, these members are free to access the service wherever they wish.
Registering for Netflix Household
Registering for Netflix Household
The first step would be to register a Netflix Household. To do this go the Netflix TV app and go the ‘Get Help’ tab. You should see ‘Manage Netflix Household’ option. Click on it.
After that you will be asked for a confirmation if the TV you are currently operating is in your Netflix Household
A verification will then go to your registered email or mobile number with a link that contains further instructions.
Upon clicking this link Netflix will take you to a web page which shows all devices that are currently connected to your home Wi-Fi network.
After you click confirm, all devices that are connected to your Wi-Fi will be registered as household devices. You can carry these devices outside your home and log out/log in with ease. No other device will be able to connect on the same account.
Users who try to access an account but are not registered to a household will get a message that will tell them to create a new account.
What could this mean for the Indian market?
Netflix’s password
The significance of this step, at least for India remains to be seen. Netflix is the world’s largest OTT platform, in terms of subscribers, but in India it occupies a very small percentage of the total market.
Local players like Disney+ Hotstar, Sony LIV, and now recently Jio Cinema have garnered considerably more subscribernumbers.
However, if the US market trend is anything to go by, Netflix’s Indian subscribers may start to grow gradually.
The company has also invested a lot on original content in several Indian languages, which may work in favour of increasing user growth.
The far-reaching effects of Netflix’s password crackdown in India should become clear in the company’s earnings report for the upcoming quarter.

* Twitter is being rebranded. * It will now be called X. * Elon Musk has been pondering over the idea for quite some time. * X.com already redirects to Twitter. * Musk says he will replace the Twitter bird logo with an interim X logo in the coming hours. * Linda Yaccarino, Twitter CEO, also expressed her excitement about the Twitter rebranding.
Elon Musk has officially confirmed Twitter is rebranding to X.
The new name highlights the billionaire entrepreneur’s ambition of taking the platform beyond social media and turning it into an everything app.
He further revealed Twitter’s iconic bird logo will also get replaced with an interim “X” logo in the coming hours.
Twitter users in India woke up to a mysterious tweet by Elon Musk on Sunday morning. The billionaire asked people to prepare to say goodbye to the beloved Twitter logo and gradually, ‘all the birds’ as a rebranding of the micro-blogging was going to take place soon.
Even though such a move came out of the blue, it surely wasn’t unexpected as rumours of Musk planning a full rebrand of Twitterhad been floating on the internet for quite some time.
Twitter’s rebranding into X has already begun, and the social media site’s official handle no longer has changed its display name to ‘X’.
The iconic blue bird logo in the profile picture has also been replaced by X and the handle’s bio has also been tweaked.
With X, Musk is hoping to create a super app of sorts that can do a lot more than merely being a social media platform for interactions.
Bunch of Things
Talking about rebranding Twitter, Musk wrote in a tweet on Sunday, “And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.”
In another tweet, he added that if they are able to find a good enough logo, it will be made live soon.
And looks like the team did find a good logo as Musk pinneda video of the X logo on his Twitter profile.
Later, he changed his profile picture to display the logo. Twitter CEO Yaccarino also shared a picture of the logo and wrote, “X is here! Let’s do this.”
In a separate tweet, Musk added that the domain X.com will now redirect users to Twitter. And indeed, if you type X.com on your web browser, the Twitter website will load.
This makes us wonder if the domain Twitter.com will cease to exist in future and be replaced by X.com.
Even Twitter’s official handle is no longer known by the blue bird. The X logo has replaced the bird and the handle’s display name also says X. The bio reads, ‘What’s happening?’
In April this year, a document submitted in a court in California hinted that Twitter no longer exists as an independent entity.
Linda Yaccarino
The company had been merged into X Corp. “Twitter Inc. has been merged into X Corp. and no longer exists. X Corp. is a privately held corporation, incorporated in Nevada, and with its principal place of business in San Francisco, California,” the document read.
The merger was submitted on March 15 and according to the filings, Musk is the president of the company as well as of its parent, X Holdings Corp, that was created in March as well.
The name X.com reportedly has a nostalgic connection for Musk. As per an Insider report, X.com was an online banking company that Musk had started back in 1990.
The company was eventually merged with Confinity, a financial startup cofounded by Peter Thiel, to form PayPal.
Even though Musk was the CEO of the newly-formed PayPal, he was fired by the board while he was on a vacation in Australia.
Thiel became the new CEO. A Forbes report had said that the reason behind Musk’s firing was that he had started a huge fight amongst the co-founders of PayPal over shifting their servers from the Unix operating system to Microsoft’s Windows.
Musk has time and again expressed his desire about creating an ‘everything’ app, X, that can emerge as a go-to app for various needs of the user.
Shortly after buying Twitter, he had written on the micro-blogging site, “Buying Twitter is an accelerant to creating X, the everything app.”
bunch of things
As per a New York Times report that dates back to October 2022, Musk had revealed plans of a new product called X and aimed that it would have 104 million users by 2028.
Other reports revealed that Musk had earlier said that he could be inspired by China’s WeChat.
A Business Insider report quoted Musk saying in May that WeChat can do everything and combines apps like Twitter, PayPal, and a ‘bunch of things’ into one (app). “It’s really an excellent app, and we don’t have anything like that outside of China,” he had added.
In 2020, Musk had appreciated the idea from a Tesla investor to create a holding company called X for his various ventures.
One of the world’s richest men, Musk was once best known for his innovative efforts through companies SpaceX and Tesla (TSLA) to launch rockets and build electric cars.
Elon Musk
Now, many of the headlines he makes are for his eccentric remarks on his personal Twitter account – often sharing conspiracy theories and getting into public spats on the social media platform.
Musk overhauled the site after acquiring it for $44 billion in late October, then followed with mass layoffs, disputes over millions of dollars allegedly owed in severance and Musk’s note to employees that remaining at the company would mean “working long hours at high intensity.” He wrote: “Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade.”
The upheaval prompted organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League, Free Press and GLAAD, to pressure brands to rethink advertising on Twitter.
The groups pointed to the mass layoffs as a key factor in their thinking, citing fears that Musk’s cuts would make Twitter’s election-integrity policies effectively unenforceable, even if they technicallyremain active.
Musk also began overseeing controversial policy changes which led to frequent service disruptions at Twitter and upended his own reputation in the process.
X Is Live Now
In June, Musk named Linda Yaccarino, a former NBCUniversal marketing executive, CEO of the company.
She commented on the name change on Twitter Sunday afternoon: “It’s an exceptionally rare thing – in life or in business – that you get a second chance to make another big impression.
Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.”
As the new venture begins, it faces challenges. Musk recently disclosed that the platform still has a negative cash flow due to a 50% drop in advertising revenueand heavy debt loads.
Criticizing the exit, or pause, of such Twitter advertisers as General Mills (GIS), Macy’s (M) and some car companies that compete with Tesla, Musk has called himself a “free speech absolutist” and said he wanted to buy Twitter to bolster users’ ability to speak freely on the platform.
Musk explained his approach to free speech by saying: “Is someone you don’t like allowed to say something you don’t like? And if that is the case, then we have free speech.”
He added that Twitter would “be very reluctant to delete things” and that the platform would aim to allow all legal speech. Many users have worried that could mean a rise in hate speech.
Meanwhile, the initial frenzy around rival Threads appears to have come back to earth, especially as it has been plagued with spam and lacks several user-friendly features Twitter, or, now X, offers.
Elon Musk said he’d rebrand Twitter’s logo to X
Adam Mosseri, who is overseeing the Threads launch for Meta, has hinted at plans to add features such as a desktop version of the app, a feed of only accounts a user follows and an edit button.
Its ability to draw advertising support is, as yet, unproven.
Twitter is also working towards generating more revenue and turning profitable.
It is the reason it is aggressively pushing the Blue subscriptionby introducing more and more paid features.
It is even adding existing free Twitter features behind the paywall like limiting DMs unless you pay.

1) Twitter rebrands to ‘X’ as Elon Musk loses iconic bird logo.Details?
Ans) Twitter has officially rebranded to “X” after owner Elon Musk changed its iconic bird logo on Monday, marking the latest major shift since his takeover of the social media platform.
The website Twitter.com remained live and branding on the app version of the platform did not appear to change as of early Monday morning.
Twitter’s world-renowned bird logo was transformed into an X, however.
Early Sunday, Musk posted a short video of a flickering “X.” Asked if the logo would change in a Twitter Spaces audio chat, he said “yes,” telling an unknown speaker: “We’re cutting the Twitter logo off the building with blow torches.”
Early Monday Musk tweeted an image of the X branding beamed across Twitter’s headquarters.
Musk tweeted Sunday that the idea of changing the logo to “X” was to “embody the imperfections in us all that make us unique.”
“And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds,” he wrote.
By Sunday afternoon the web address x.com was already redirecting to what was once Twitter. The domain returned to Musk in 2017 after it was relinquished under the merger that became PayPal.

3) ‘A second chance’ -By Elon Musk .Details?

4) Twitter Will Soon Be X.Details
Ans) Elon Musk revealed Twitter’s rebranding process is underway through a series of tweets. His first tweet came yesterday morning when he said, “And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.” Soon after, he added, “If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we’ll make go live worldwide tomorrow.”
Musk first teased the new Twitter logo through a tweet and he also made it his profile picture. The same logo has now been confirmed officially as the new Twitter identity by the company CEO Linda Yaccarino. Even Twitter’s account name is changed to “X” but the username continues to be “Twitter”.
He spent the whole day tweeting with messages referencing Twitter’s rebrand to X. He revealed that X.com now redirects to Twitter and tweets will soon be known as simply “X”. The choice of the name is not surprising as Musk established “X Corp.” earlier this year and made it the parent company of Twitter. It is also the name you see as the developer on the App Store and Play Store when you search for the app.
Musk’s affection for the letter “X’ goes way back to his early days in the world of entrepreneurship. PayPal was originally called X.com and his spacecraft engineering company is called SpaceX. He also launched a car model under Tesla’s lineup called Tesla Model X. His newest AI company is called “xAI”.
Linda Yaccarino, Twitter’s new CEO, also expressed her excitement about the rebranding. She said, “Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.
X is the future state of unlimited interactivity – centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we’re just beginning to imagine.”
Her thread about Twitter’s brand overhaul makes it clear that Twitter is set to become the platform for everything. It is also evident from the recent feature rollouts and changes from the company. Twitter has begun testing posting job vacancies on the platform that will help verified organizations hire talent. It is also exploring the option of letting anyone post long-form articles with in-line images directly through the app.
Twitter is also working towards generating more revenue and turning profitable. It is the reason it is aggressively pushing the Blue subscription by introducing more and more paid features. It is even adding existing free Twitter features behind the paywall like limiting DMs unless you pay.
5) Elon Musk History : Everything You Need to know why Rebranding X ?
Ans) One of Musk’s first ventures was known as X.com, first launched by Musk as an online banking and financial services platform in 1999. A year later, he was forced to step down from his role as CEO of the firm.
‘Everyone tried to talk him out of naming the company that back then because of the sexual innuendos, but he really liked it and stuck with it,’ said Ashlee Vance, the author of Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future, about the X.com domain, according to NPR.
Three years later, he made $165 million when the site, by then merged with PayPal, was bought by eBay.
Musk would later buy the domain X.com back from PayPal in 2017. That site now directs people to Twitter.
‘Thanks PayPal for allowing me to buy back X.com! No plans right now, but it has great sentimental value to me,’ Musk wrote on Twitter in 2017,
That domain was Musk’s first major use of the letter X, but not his last.
Musk is also the founder and CEO of SpaceX, which is formally known as Space Exploration Technologies Corporation.
He founded the company in 2002 and it recently launched its $3 billion – a test flight which was deemed a great success even after it burst into a spectacular ball of flames.
SpaceX and even NASA all hailed the mammoth new rocket’s maiden flight as ‘exciting’ and a success. Musk was particularly buoyant in the aftermath — vowing to launch again ‘in a few months’.
Tesla, where Musk is CEO, sells the Model X, which went on commercial sale in 2016. The car, a mid-sized luxury crossover SUV is recognizable by its falcon doors.
‘The idea being that the Tesla models would spell out the word ‘sexy,” said Tim Higgins, the author of Power Play: Tesla, Elon Musk, and the Bet of the Century. However, Ford owned the right to the Model E, which forced Musk to turn to the Model 3 – which is ‘kind of a backwards E,’ Higgins noted.
Musk also infamously brought the letter into his personal life, giving his son the letter as a nickname.
Musk and his former partner, the musician Grimes, raised eyebrows in May 2020 when they revealed the name of their newborn son: X Æ A-12.
The billionaire is said to have given the little boy, three, the nickname X for short.
Soon after he was named, X Æ A-12 had his name changed to X Æ A-Xii following a violation of California’s naming laws around which alphanumeric characters can be used.
The name of the couple’s second child was later changed to ‘Y’ from Exa Dark Sideræl Musk.
Musk’s love life has been the subject of intrigue for years, with the Space X founder going through a series of divorces and high-profile relationships in recent times.
The CEO first alluded to some big name changes to Twitter- which has been fighting reduced usership and increased competition in recent months – early Sunday morning, revealing the bird logo would soon be replaced with a plain ‘X’.
He hinted the symbol came as part of a larger rebrand of the entire platform as he searches for the right design.
Of the newly announced logo, which is still in limbo, he claimed: ‘Interim X logo goes live later today.’
Musk has long wanted to build an ‘everything app’ similar to the popular WeChat, according to NPR. That app has a strong hold in China, but no US version.
‘He wants to create an app similar to how WeChat is used in China, where it’s part of the fabric of day-to-day life. You use it to communicate, to consume news, to buy things, to pay your rent, to book appointments with your doctor and even to pay fines,’ Vance said.
Now, the social-media site Musk purchased for $44 billion appears to be undergoing the changes he first promised in October.
‘Buying Twitter is an accelerant to creating X, the everything app,’ Musk said at the time of the purchase.
Many thousands of users weighed in Musk’s X tease, dropping design suggestions for the new logo, as well as questions behind his reasoning for the new name.
Several posters sarcastically joked about what would come of the already widely accepted term ‘tweeting’ in the revamp’s aftermath.
‘I am not sure how it will be called now! Post? X-post? Xost?’ someone wrote.
Another similarly asked: If Twitter rebrands to X then what would we call future ‘tweets’?’
Someone else sniped: ‘So it’s not tweet anymore it’s what?’
Others seemed to poke fun with the famously flippant exec after his announcement, with some sighting the increased pressure he is facing with the recent advent of Meta-owned Threads, and the diminishing market evaluation of his new company.
‘ur[sic] actually so annoying. genuinely what is the reason,’ said one person moments after the announcement – which put a cap on a stream of consciousness style series of tweets from Musk alluding to a large-scale rebrand.
‘Get on threads at this point,’ someone else added.
Musk, in trademark fashion, looked to play along with storm of sarcastic posts, asking his some 149million followers within moments: ‘What should we call tweeting?’
Several responded in turn with their own self-made verbs to describe the act of posting on the now changing social media site.
‘Xweeting,’ wrote one; ‘Xpressing,’ wrote another.
Hours earlier, Musk alluded to some smaller but still seminal changes to the platform, with various photos containing some stylized form of the letter x – including a photo of himself crossing his arms.
‘And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds,’ one morning post from Musk read.
Another aired shortly after added: ‘If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we’ll make go live worldwide tomorrow.’
He followed up the announcement by offering some creative guidance for potential designers: ‘If the X is closest in style to anything, it should, of course, be Art Deco.’
He then posted a darkened version of the current Twitter logo and wrote, ‘Like this but X.’
Eventually, Musk posted a flickering video of an X overtaking the bird and pinned it to the top of his profile.
The image was suggested by Sawyer Merritt, the co-founder of a sustainable clothing brand, and designed by Alex Tourville, a physics engineer.
It is not clear that the pinned X is the one Musk will use for the company logo moving forward.
The site’s current logo, known as Larry the Bird, has been Twitter’s emblem since its creation in 2006, with the current design in use since 2012.
According to Twitter’s website, Larry is ‘our most recognizable asset’ and is ‘why we’re so protective of it.’
In April, the site’s logo was briefly replaced with a picture of a Shibu Inu dog, which helped boost the market value of Dogecoin, the popular meme coin, by $4billion.
That same month, an email was sent to Twitter’s business partners informing them that the company had been renamed the X Corp following a merger, but that the short-form social media platform would keep its original name – for now.
X Corp may also act as a future parent company for Musk’s other businesses: Neuralink, SpaceX, Tesla, and The Boring Company.
When the corporate filings became public in April, Musk tweeted a simple ‘X’ to his millions of followers. It is unclear if, or when Musk will change the name of Twitter.
The logo announcement arrives nearly two weeks after the launch of Musk’s new artificial intelligence startup, xAI – which is now the sole occupant of Musk’s Twitter bio.
The startup, to be led by Musk, will aim to provide an alternative to ChatGPT.
According to Musk, who has repeatedly warned about the unregulated development of AI, the company will create a ‘maximally curious’ AI.
‘If it tried to understand the true nature of the universe, that’s actually the best thing that I can come up with from an AI safety standpoint,’ he said. ‘I think it is going to be pro-humanity from the standpoint that humanity is just much more interesting than not-humanity.’
The logo change would be the latest in a number of changes that have shaken up the company since Musk’s takeover.
He has previously been criticized for gutting the company of the grand majority of its employees, as well as monetizing the ‘verified’ blue check status in April.
Earlier this month, Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta launched its own short-form posting app, called Threads.
Mark Zuckerberg said that more than 30million people signed up for the rival service during its first 24 hours.
Twitter has threatened to sue the company over allegedly stolen trade secrets.
