It appears that Apple is collecting app data of its users and sending a detailed log of how they interact with apps on the App store, which is what cyber researchers have clarified in a recent news report, while they’ve also added that Apple is tracking the app store since iOS 14.6 was launched in May 2021.

It has not yet been specified as to why Apple is collecting data analytics for iOS 16 as the app store is apparently sending data even when the personalized ads option has been turned off.

That’s more than double the usual number.”

According to Rochko, he started coding for Mastadon in 2016 after he turned “disillusioned with Twitter.” Rochko has been quoted in the international media saying that his sole intention behind building Mastodon was to have a short blogging platform not controlled by one corporation.

The latest news doing the rounds is that most of these big tech companies have been asked to pay network costs by European Telecom Operators or EU Telcos, while they’ve asked the European Union to implement new laws to facilitate the same.

It seems that EU Telecom wants to follow the example set by Australia, where US tech firms have to pay adequate network costs, due to which its telecom operators are lobbying hard for the terms to contribute financially as companies like Google, Facebook, Instagram, Netflix, among others, continue to use a major part of the internet traffic of other countries.

The Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) has asked all the big tech giants to contribute richly to European Infrastructure Investment for which a letter will be sent to the EU industry chief in the coming weeks.

Alphabet and Meta, who own Google and Facebook, respectively, have already been notified about the same and have been asked to take quick action on the matter as EU telcos want them to make their investments in the European infrastructure given the internet traffic they use via their organizations.

Conclusion

The big tech giants have not commented anything as yet on the matter as they’ve been asked to pay for online news content as EU telecom operators feel that it is an attempt to encourage these companies and news publishers to come to an agreement as they will eventually be compelled to go for this last resort procedure.

However, over the years, things have not been too smooth for these platforms as they’ve also been embroiled in controversies of many kinds with the latest one involving Cloudtail India, a renowned Amazon Seller, as The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has accused it of selling pressure cookers on Amazon in violation of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

The Government Body has imposed a fine of Rs.1 Lakh on Cloudtail India where it has demanded the seller to recall 1,033 pressure cookers and to reimburse the money to all its customers.

CCPA has also issued an order against Cloudtail India citing violation of consumer rights and unfair trade practices as it has sold domestic cookers and therefore has violated mandatory standards by doing so.

All the standards have been prescribed under The Domestic Pressure Cooker (Quality Control) Order, 2020, where CCPA has accused most of the aforementioned e-commerce platforms of violating mandatory standards and has issued suo-moto action against them.

Cloudtail India, on its part, has given its reply to the CCPA that it has suspended pressure cooker imports after the Quality Control Order (QCO) came into force, while CCPA countered back that while the import has been suspended, Cloudtail continues to sell pressure cooker to consumers and therefore been fined.

CCPA has ordered Cloudtail to submit a compliance report on the matter within the next 45 days as it feels that violating mandatory standards of QCO, Cloudtail and other platforms have endangered public safety by making consumers vulnerable to injuries that could lead to loss of life.

For its part, CCPA has decided to issue safety notices to consumers so as to caution and alert them against buying goods and products that don’t have a valid ISI mark and also violate BIS standards as mentioned above.

A major reason is speculated to be the rising US Dollar (USD), which has cast a huge impact not just in the US but throughout the world. The silver lining is that PS 5 accessories will be available at the same price as before and won’t be subjected to any hike, at least not yet.

Samsung India Sells Smartphones Worth Rs. 14,400 Crore During Festive Season

This festival season, when the people are in high spirits to buy new gadgets just proved to be a big hit for the Samsung company, as it has just made a whooping sale worth Rs. 14,400 Cr between two months September and October. The expanding consumer trust and reliability in this smartphone manufacturing company, along with the amazing reviews on smartphone Galaxy S22 series and its recently launched flagship, foldable smartphones added to the extraordinary sales numbers. This still going strong company for the last 10 years is making its mark as an imperative smartphone manufacturer. Aditya Babbar, Senior Director and Head of Product Marketing at Samsung India confirmed the same record and further concluded that this soaring revenue of INR 14,400 crore of the company was met through the insane number of sales of smartphones, smart wearables, and tablets amidst the festival period of 2022. Samsung’s in-demand devices were considered to be under affordable rates and had some heavy rebates on the prices that lured most smartphone users.

The reason that seems to support this longshot, double-digit profit and robust sales of Samsung smart devices is owing to the gaining demand for premium and advanced devices, where Samsung has the utmost trust value. This famous South Korean company auspiciously paved its way through the last quarter of the year 2022. The company claims that its overall mobile phone business grew by 20 per cent and has a 22 per cent revenue market share in the first nine months of 2022. Babar further spits out the facts by addressing the factors that make them a leading smartphone manufacturer in India “We have also been the number 1 brand in terms of value since 2013. Consumers are adopting more 5G and premium phones. We are at the forefront of the democratisation of 5G with a Rs 10,900 device. We have 20 devices which are enabled with 5G. We are number 1 in the 5G brand for the last four quarters,” Being there in the market for this long, Samsung understood the importance of taking the advantage of being the first in the market to welcome revolutionary dynamics; Hence registering rising levels of sales. It’s an undebatable point that Samsung is the best fit and adhering to the Indian population criteria list ever since this hardware company has earned the goodwill to remain at the top of being among the highest in-demand android-based smartphone manufacturer.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT, Radeon RX 7900 XTX High-End Gaming GPUs Announced, Check Details

AMD has unveiled its brand new high end Graphic Processing Units (GPU), the Radeon RX 7900 XT and Radeon RX 7900 XTX, based on RDNA 3 architecture that the company claims is the world’s first modular design chipset based GPU. Both GPUs, as per the announcement, will be available globally starting December 13, 2022.

AMD also said that both the new GPUs will provide 54% higher performance per Watt or up to 70% better performance as compared to the previous generation GPUs which were based on the RDNA 2 architecture. The GPUs are built by multiple scalable “chiplets” that have been developed using a 5 nm fabrication process. The modular design will allow these GPUs to be easily tweaked for any future modifications.

The all-new Radeon RX 7900 XTX will directly compete with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4000 series. It comes with 96 compute units, 24 GB of GDDR6 RAM and a clock speed of up to 2.3GHz.  As per AMD, the total board power consumption is estimated to be 355W. On the other hand, another version of Radeon RX 7900 XT, the little bit cheaper version of the GPU, comes with 20 GB of GDDR6 RAM, a clock speed of 2GHz and 84 compute units. This particular variant of the GPU uses 300W of power.

If we refer to the promotional photos released by AMD for both the variants, it shows two standard 8-pin PCIe power connectors. The photos also show HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB Type-C for various other visual outputs. Both of the Radeon RX 7900 series GPU variants, as per the company announcement, support DisplayPort 2.1 for outputs of up to 8K at 165Hz or 4K at 480Hz. Any branding partnering with AMD for these either of these GPU variants will always have the option to change its own product offerings. Some additional features included in both variants of the newly launched GPUs are hardware-level support for up to 8K 60fps AV1 encoding, simultaneous encoding/decoding with the AVC and HEVC codecs and much more.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT

Any conventional monolithic GPU is usually split up into various Memory Cache Dies (MCDs) and a Graphics Compute Die (GCD). These have the compute units that actually develop the graphics rendering pipeline. In comparison to these conventional designs, the new Radeon RX 7900 XT has been developed with five active Memory Cache Dies along with a bus width of 320 bits. As for the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, it is being made available with six Memory Cache Dies each on a 64-bit wide bus. Both of these various total 384 bits. The Memory Cache Dies are developed with a 6 nm process and while the Graphic Compute Dies are created using a 5nm node. These two manufacturing details allow AMD to merge and match different components in order to optimise the manufacturing process costs as well as resources.

As per the company, these chipsets support DisplayPort 2.1. AMD says, “The graphics cards are the industry’s only high-end gaming graphics cards to support DisplayPort 2.1 technology with UHBR 13.5, enabling high-refresh 4K (up to 480Hz) or 8K (up to 165Hz) gaming on next-gen displays.”
