Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: 3NM Chip For 2024

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) is producing most of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets with the promising 3 nanometer technology that will prove to be a gamechanger in the market.

At the moment, the much awaited Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC chipsets for smartphones will be launched around early to mid-2023 for which many users are excited to try out the new chip model that will be a prominent one among Samsung‘s flagships.

Motorola Razr 3 specs update: Will come packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset

Highlights

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will begin production by the end of 2023, following the launch of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets.
  • The 3 nanometer technology chipset is created by TSMC for which Samsung has a lot of hopes.
  • However the 3nm production from Samsung‘s end would be only 10-20% due to which Qualcomm can employ other methods of production as a supplement to chip inventories.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chipset to Launch in 2024

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is an awaited chipset in 2023 that will come equipped with different Samsung flagship models, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is being worked upon by TSMC with the help of the promising 3 nanometer technology for which Samsung is doing its best.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

It goes without saying that Qualcomm teams are working extremely hard on the follow-up of the chipsets as recent reports have confirmed that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will begin production by the end of 2023.

As TSMC has been given the responsibility for the future manufacturing of the chip, the company’s new method of production in 3 nanometer would succeed 80% of the time, while the iPhone 15 chip too will be using the same method for manufacturing.

TSMC stands to gain in this regard as it will be allowed to create both chipsets without having to put a cap on inventories. It was Samsung that first declared the arrival of 3nm manufacturing technology in July 2022 and gained an edge over TSMS by making a statement.

However, it needs to be kept in mind that Samsung‘s contribution in the production of 3nm is only around 10-20%, due to which it is very likely for Qualcomm to employ this production method as a supplement to chip inventories.

TSMC is the only manufacturer in the market that has the capacity to provide Apple, Nvidia, Qualcomm, AMD with most of its processors from the newer generation because there is no opposition from Samsung and other competitors.

TSMS also has the advantage of setting prices as it sees fit due to the technologies required for production being of cutting-edge quality are extremely costly to produce.

Google Chrome Will Block All Suspicious Downloads

0
Google Chrome

Google Chrome is working on a new feature that can block suspicious HTTP downloads that are prevalent everywhere due to which a solution has been in discussions for a long time and may arrive with Chrome 111.

There are many HTTP websites that are unsecure for use that Google has to deal with but currently the secure websites have been blocked from using these unsecure platforms because there are plans to encourage browsing in a safe and secure manner.

Add Hues To Your Google Chrome Browser’s Tab

Highlights

  • Google Chrome currently flags HTTP websites as “Not Secure”.
  • Chrome currently blocks secure websites from using insecure web forms.
  • The browser also uses an “Always use secure connections” toggle.

Google Chrome Plans to Block Fake HTTP Downloads

Google Chrome is the most reliable and, therefore, the most used search engine we have today where people simply have to type the keywords they want to search and press ‘Enter’, following which many solutions pop up in the form of articles and blogs.

Google Chrome

As of late, there have been numerous HTTP downloads that are deemed dangerous due to which Google Chrome is working on this new development where user data will be protected from such fake HTTP downloads.

Most of the secure websites are using HTTPS encryption but Chrome is firm on blocking all HTTP downloads so that users can browse in a safe and secure manner, while currently, the browser has only a handful of security features where you have mixed elements, along with an “Always use secure connections” toggle in the security settings.

If recent reports are anything to go by, there was a new code change spotted online with a feature that warns users regarding insecure downloads from sites via HTTP, while the browser comes with a ‘Not Secure’ warning for older websites that are HTTP-encrypted in the address bar.

The browser will block all downloads that it deems unsafe even if the HTTP encrypted website redirects users to a server with an insecure HTTP for download so that the user is taken to another secure HTTPS connection but if the webpage is available only via HTTP encryption, all the downloads from the site will be blocked by Chrome.

Google Chrome plans to bring this new update with Chrome 111 that comes out in a few months in March 2023 where it will soon undergo testing to make sure that it will be safe for use once it is launched, while Chrome could bring out more information about it very soon.

iPhone in 2023: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Ultra, iPhone SE 4, iOS 17

0
iPhone 15

Apple will soon be launching the iPhone 15 series in 2023 that comprises of iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Ultra, iPhone SE 4, iOS 17. The company’s smartphones remain the biggest portion of its phenomenal business where they account for more than half of tech giant’s sales at $394.3 billion in the 2022 fiscal year.

As usual, there are numerous rumours circulating around the upcoming series that is expected to come out during fall season, less than a year after the launch of iPhone 14 series.

Highlights

  • Apple iPhone 15 series will soon be out this year in 2023 that includes iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Ultra, iPhone SE 4, and iOS 17.
  • It is rumoured to come with a periscope-style telephoto lens, a titanium alloy body, and haptic buttons.
  • The star of the entire series is the iPhone 15 where it is said to be far more upgraded than iPhone 14 released the previous year.

iPhone 15 Series Set to Come out in 2023

Apple’s iPhone 15 series is arguably the most awaited model of 2023 that is expected to come out during fall season, which will be enough for people to make their own speculations regarding the series.

iPhone 15

Whatever lies in store for Apple in 2023 might begin and end with the iPhone 15 series where even a spring iPhone has been strongly speculated. Prior to the release of iPhone 15, iPhone SE 4 seems to be in works as well that may hit the market first around early to mid-2023.

There are ample reasons for introducing a new device in the iPhone SE series as the current model has a similar design to iPhone 8, which includes the big bezels and other things, but the problem was that many people thought it looked out of synchronization with times in 2022.

Therefore, one can expect iPhone SE 4 to adapt the old iPhone 11 design, with minimum bezels and a notched display. When it comes to optical features, iPhone SE lacks a dedicated night mode even though its cameras have been well received.

Apple also runs the grave risk of getting shut out of the end of the market in case the iPhone SE spends the year on the bench as its rivals, Google and Samsung, will definitely produce new versions of their mid-range smartphones.

iOS 17 New in 2023

However, one thing can be said for certain that the iOS 17 will release around the same time as the iPhone 15 series, although the future prospects of the software update will be revealed much earlier as Apple has a habit of previewing the newer version of the iOS, which happens during the Worldwide Developers Conference, which will happen in June this year (2023).

Apple seeks to end its App store monopoly by opening up the iPhone to third-party app stores where reports are suggesting that Apple may have something in place for outside apps by the time iOS 17 is launched.

iPhone 15 Pro Port Faster than iPhone 15; Asserts Analysts

iPhone Vs iPhone 15 pro

iPhone 15 series comprises of three models viz. iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, although it has been widely speculated that the latter will be a rebranded version of iPhone 15 Ultra, which means that it will be a 6.7-inch model.

iPhone 15 Latest Rumors

The Dynamic Island feature will find its way into the iPhone 15 model in 2023 but an added bonus from Apple for people intending to go for iPhone 15 Pro is the USB-Type C charging port where they can avail faster data transfer rates.

There have been many people pitting iPhone 15 with iPhone 15 Pro, which is similar to the iPhone 14 Vs iPhone 14 Pro where there were modest changes made in the base model in the 2022 model where iPhone 14 retained the A15 Bionic chip from iPhone 13 Pro.

iPhone 15 Pro is also rumoured to come with a periscope-style telephoto lens, haptic buttons, and a titanium alloy body so as to make the handset more durable but Apple needs to confirm its plans for September 2023 when the iPhone 15 is rumoured to release.

iPhone SE Pros & Cons

iPhone SE was launched in March 2022, which was nearly two years after the last iPhone SE update, while Apple introducing new SE models in the coming years could be unprecedented due to the device having a niche audience.

It is likely that Apple launched a new model two years after iPhone SE in 2020 because it wanted a 5G version of the model so that users can avail the new network as soon as possible.

Apple Foldable Phones- iPhone Flip

There are many surprises that Apple has planned for 2023, which might include the company’s first ever foldable smartphone that is speculated to be iPhone Flip that might adopt a clamshell-style design that opens up to reveal a folding screen in a similar manner to Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.

However, many users have low expectations about the foldable model releasing anytime soon and expect it to be launched in 2024, which might well happen, although Apple needs to officially confirm it.

MacBooks 2023: MacBook Pro M2 Pro, 15-inch MacBook Air And More; Here’s What To Expect

0
MacBooks 2023

In recent years, Apple’s line of MacBooks has consistently been at the forefront of the laptop market, offering a range of options for consumers looking for a reliable and powerful device.

As we enter the year 2023, it’s worth taking a look at what the future holds for MacBooks in 2023 and what we can expect from the technology giant in the coming years. From rumors of new features and designs to potential updates to existing models, there is no shortage of speculation about what the next generation of MacBooks will bring.

In this article, we’ll explore some of the most exciting possibilities for MacBooks in 2023 and consider what the future holds for this popular line of laptops.

MacBook Model

One of the most anticipated developments in the MacBook world is the rumored release of a new model. According to various reports, Apple is working on a completely redesigned MacBook that could potentially be released in 2023.

While details are scarce, it’s believed that this new model will feature a completely overhauled design, with a thinner and lighter form factor and potentially even a foldable screen.

Some rumors have also suggested that the new MacBook will come with a more powerful processor and improved graphics capabilities, making it a great option for those looking for a high-performance laptop.

It’s worth noting that these are just rumors at this point, and it’s important to take them with a grain of salt until more concrete information becomes available. However, the prospect of a completely redesigned MacBook is certainly an exciting one and has many tech enthusiasts eagerly anticipating its potential release.

Macbook Pros

Apple is rumored to be introducing internal updates to the MacBook Pro 2023 by using M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the M2 Max chip will have a 12-core CPU, which is an improvement from the M1 Max’s 10-core CPU, and a 38-core GPU, which is an increase from the current maximum of 32 cores.

These updates are expected to enhance the performance and efficiency of the upgraded MacBook Pro models.

The M2 Max is also rumored to have support for up to 64GB of Unified Memory, while the M2 Pro is expected to be less powerful. Leaked Geekbench results for the M2 Max, found in a Mac labeled Macbook 14.6 inch suggest moderate performance improvements over the M1 Max.

The M2 Max earned single-core scores of 1853 and 1889, and multi-core scores of 13855 and 14586, while the M1 Max earned a single-core score of 1755 and a multi-core score of 12333.

MacBook Air 2023

According to Ross Young, the production of panels for a 15.5-inch MacBook Air is set to begin in the first quarter of 2023, leading him to believe that the device will be launched in the spring of that year.

There have been rumors circulating about the potential release of a new Macbook Air model in 2023, possibly called the Macbook Air Plus or Macbook Air Max. One of the most highly anticipated features of this new device is its expected improved battery life.

The Macbook Air Plus or Max is rumored to be equipped with an M2 chipset, similar to the 13-inch Macbook Air, but as a larger device it may also have more room for a bigger battery. This could result in a battery life of up to 23 hours, making it one of the longest-lasting Macbook models on the market.

The M2 chipset is known for being more energy-efficient than the M2 Pro and M2 Max, which could lead to a fanless design for the Macbook Air Plus or Max. This would be a welcome feature for many users, as the lack of a fan can result in a quieter, cooler, and more lightweight device.

In addition to its improved battery life and potential fanless design, the Macbook Air Plus or Max is expected to be more expensive than the current 13-inch Macbook Air due to its larger display.

It is speculated that the price difference could be anywhere from a hundred to two hundred dollars, depending on the specific features and specifications of the device.

Overall, the rumored release of the Macbook Air Plus or Max in 2023 has generated a lot of excitement among Macbook fans and technology enthusiasts.

If the rumors turn out to be true, this new device could be a game-changer in the world of laptops, offering improved battery life, a fanless design, and a larger display at a slightly higher price point. It will be interesting to see what Apple has in store for its Macbook Air line in the coming years.

What Else To Expect From MacBook Next Year?

  • MacBook Pro in 2023 are coming with M2 Pro and M2 Max chipset.
  • MacBook Pro will have 12 core CPU
  • MacBook Pro will come with a 38 core GPU
  • MacBook Pro is expected to come with 64GB of Unified Memory
  • MacBook Pro M2 with Max earned single-core scores of 1853 and 1889, and multi-core scores of 13855 and 14586.
  • MacBook Pro M1 Max earned a single-core score of 1755 and a multi-core score of 12333.
  • MacBook Air is to come with a 15.5-inch display size.
  • MacBook Air will potentially be called Macbook Air Plus or Macbook Air Max in 2023.
  • MacBook Air will have a better battery life of up to 23 hours.
  • MacBook Air can be fanless and hence noise less.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the future looks bright for MacBooks in 2023, with a range of exciting updates and new models rumored to be on the horizon.

Whether it’s the prospect of a completely redesigned MacBook, the internal updates to the MacBook Pro, or the potential release of a new Macbook Air model with improved battery life, there is no shortage of speculation about what Apple has in store for its popular line of laptops.

While it’s important to take these rumors with a grain of salt until more concrete information becomes available, the potential for even more powerful and efficient MacBooks in the coming years is certainly an exciting prospect for tech enthusiasts.

What to Expect from Google in 2023: Pixel 7A, Pixel Tablet, Pixel 8 and more

0
Google Pixel

If speculations are to be believed, it appears 2023 is going to be an eventful year for Google. After unveiling the updated Pixel line including the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Google Pixel 6a, and the Pixel Watch in 2022, every smartphone enthusiast is all eyes and ears for next year’s revelations.

Even though there hasn’t been any official confirmation, there are hardly any bonus points for guessing that the Alphabet-owned company will be taking the Pixel line forward.

As per rumours, the year 2023 for Google will bring with it the Pixel 7a, Google Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Watch 2 as some of the (non)confirmed launches. Let’s take a look at what to expect from Google in 2023.

Google Pixel 7a

Google Pixel 7a
Google Pixel 7a

Google Pixel 7a will be a 6.1-inch OLED Screen display smartphone with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution, 424 ppi and 90 Hz refresh rate.

To ensure high-end performance, the device will be powered by Google Tensor Chipset, Octa Core Processor, 6 GB RAM and 128 GB Inbuilt Memory. For photography support, Pixel 7a is going for a dual rear camera setup with a 12.2 MP + 12 MP sensor along with an 8 MP selfie shooter.

Expected to be launched in early 2023, the Google Pixel 7a price in India is rumoured to be ₹34,990.

Google Pixel Tablet

Google Pixel Tablet

Google has already announced the Pixel Tablet and it also is known to be coming out in the New Year. Even though the official launch date is yet to be announced, this 10.95-inch upcoming tablet is also expected to have a Pro variant coming out in near future.

The tablet will most likely feature a Google Tensor G2, Octa Core, 2.85 GHz Processor, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB inbuilt, and Android v13 OS. Targeting the mid-range tablet segment, the Google Pixel Tablet price is expected to be around ₹39,999.

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro

google pixel 8

The products in Google’s 2023 lineup that everyone is anticipating are the successors of the Pixel 7 line.

The Pixel 8 series is expected to have an official arrival by fall 2023. After the success of the Pixel 6 and then Pixel 7 lines, these next launches will most likely have a higher flagship-grade design and performance while many bloggers have expressed hope that Googe will be addressing the previous complaints of poor battery support.

It is expected that Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro prices will be around ₹53,990 and ₹70,990 respectively.

Google Pixel Watch 2

Pixel Watch 2

So, we just had Google Pixel Watch hitting the stores in October 2022 and it might seem too soon for an upgraded version but speculations suggest Google Pixel Watch 2 is on the cards in early 2023.

A sequel to the Pixel Watch, which received a decent response from customers upon launch, will definitely take forward the feature combination one notch higher.

We don’t have much information about the features of this upgrades smartwatch yet but we are hoping Google will stick to Fitbit and Google Assistant integration along with reducing the current watch’s chunky bezels.

Google Pixel Fold

Pixel Foldable

Google will be seen entering the foldable phone segment with Google Pixel Fold in 2023 and this is going to be the smartphone that will have everyone talking.

No spec or feature is out officially yet, Pixel Fold will likely sport a 7.69-inch foldable dual display with 1440 x 3120 px resolution.

As per speculations, other features in this Google’s first foldable phone will include a Google Tensor G2, Octa Core, 2.85 GHz Processor, 12 GB RAM, 128 GB inbuilt and 5000 mAh Battery with 30W Fast Charging. Moreover, the Pixel Fold price is expected to be around ₹99,999.

The rumour mills are getting stronger as the launch date of Galaxy S23 Series draws closer and closer with each passing day as many tech experts have are speculating their own theories regarding the Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup, which is rumoured to come with a new cooling technology for performance enhancement.

The smartphone series has been subjected to numerous leaks in the past few months where many people were not very impressed with the multi-core scores for the upcoming models but it has been said that the series might be powered by a tweaked version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which is a TSMC product from Taiwan.qualcomm snapdragon

There are several tipsters claiming that Galaxy S23 Ultra’s night photography is going to be a ‘night vision’, which remains unconfirmed whether it is the feature’s new marketing name or a completely new mode altogether and if so, it will be similar to the green-tinged goggles for night vision.

With the launch of Galaxy S23 series just a month away, Samsung might very well reveal newer details regarding the camera features or might shift it to the launch date as the Korean based tech giant is well known for doing.

5 Things We Want to See from Xiaomi in 2023

Xiaomi in 2023

After gaining the top spot briefly in 2021, Xiaomi again slipped down to the third spot below Apple and Samsung in 2022 thanks to pandemic aftereffects and some misses from the brand itself. Xiaomi’s product line, however, has been impressive throughout with multiple new launches in 2022.

There is the Redmi Note 11 making a mark for itself in the mid-range smartphone segment, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra with an impressive primary camera sensor, and a range of Poco smartphones hitting different price segments.

Xiaomi, even after maintaining a strong foothold in the smartphone market since its first appearance still has a long way to go as a brand with scope for improvement in software, flagship devices, smartphone pricing and more. As we enter a new year, here are 5 things we want to see from Xiaomi in 2023.

Workout on the Pricing of The Flagship Smartphones

Xiaomi started off as a brand with pocket-friendly flagship smartphones and continued the trend for years. The Mi 9 was unveiled in 2019 at ₹41,490 (now for ₹39,490) competing with Samsung Galaxy S10e launched in the same period at ₹ 62032.55 (now retailing at ₹ 44,990).

The same brand this year has changed its strategy to an extent that a rather standard Xiaomi 12 price at the time of launch was ₹ 62032, while some of Samsung’s best handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 and the Google Pixel 7 were priced at ₹ 66173 and ₹ 49609 respectively.

In 2023, we truly hope Xiaomi as a smartphone brand works out on the pricing of the flagship smartphones and goes in with a little more aggressive pricing approach.

Let the Xiaomi Foldable Smartphones Enter the Global Chat

We have been hearing about it for a while, maybe it’s time to finally let it see the light of day. It’s not like Xiaomi’s foldable smartphones are out of reach for everyone.

The brand has already released Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 with a Chinese market-only approach in August 2022. The fact that Xiaomi hasn’t yet allowed any of its foldable devices outside China is what we are hoping will change in the coming year.

Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, scheduled to be launched in 2023, could be the device to land in the global smartphone market.

Extend the Update Policy to Mid-Rangers

The Xiaomi 11T series of 2021 was the first release where Xiaomi came up with its extended update policy. As per the policy, the brand offered three OS updates and four years of security patches.

Apart from Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro, the extended update policy was also available for other handsets such as the Xiaomi 12 series.

However, Xiaomi needs to extend this to mid-range devices as well. For example, Samsung is offering extended updates to even the Galaxy A50 series smartphones.

Get the Product Lineup in Order

The Xiaomi product portfolio is something that the brand urgently needs to work on and we hope 2023 is going to be the year when they do. The brand is known for offering region-specific smartphones, rebadged handsets, and multiple smartphones with almost no differences in the spec sheet.

With more than a dozen handsets launched under Redmi Note 11 series in 2022, Xiaomi’s product lineup went a lot more convoluted. We are hoping the brand gets the product lineup in order in 2023.

Introduce a Fresh Android Skin

MIUI must have a better and more original visual identity for it to even stand a chance amongst its rivals. The Android skin shared extensive similarities with the iOS in terms of appearance and navigation that it mostly feels like a copied version.

Samsung One UI and Oppo Color OS have already proved that it’s very much possible to imbibe elements than making a direct copy of iOS.

In 2023, we would like Xiaomi to provide a different UI experience along with some exciting functional changes.

India has made it official that USB Type-C Charging will become mandatory for all smartphones and other devices from March 2025, which was officially announced a couple of days back by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

BIS has also set quality benchmarks for the charging port, while the Consumer Affairs department has asked all device manufacturers to put in their products for USB Type-C chargers, while the government brings in two types of common charging ports.

Highlights

  • The European Union Commission (EUC) had proposed a legislation in 2021 to establish a common charging port for all electronic devices.
  • EUC had announced the legislation to curb consumer inconvenience and e-waste that had become rampant over the past few years.
  • Central Consumer Protection Authority also formed a subgroup comprising of educational institutions and industry representatives so that the role could be enacted very soon.

India to Make USB Type-C Charging Compulsory for All Devices from March 2025

Following a major legislative proposal from the European Union Commission (EUC) to have a single charging port for all electronic devices back in 2021, India recently announced that all USB Type-C port will be made compulsory for all smartphones from March 2025.

It was the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) that took the decision as it mandated the use of a single charging port for all devices as it feels that the new rule will prove to be a quality benchmark for the charging port, for which the Consumer Affairs department has instructed all device manufacturers to implement.

Following BIS’s decision, the central government will soon be coming up with two types of charging ports for smartphones and other wearable devices as the BIS has already notified all standards for Type-C ports.

March 2025 will be the deadline that the government has chosen after massive consultations with industry stakeholders, educational institutions, and representatives as the Central Consumer Protection Authority set up a sub-group for studying the feasibility of a uniform charging port.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has claimed that a uniform charging port will be a fruitful steps towards ‘Lifestyle for Environment’ (LiFE) mission, which was launched by him at the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland.
