Nothing will be launching the Nothing Phone (2) in the US, India, and other markets in July. The exact launch date of the device is yet to be announced by the company.

While we wait for the launch, the brand has been confirming several aspects of its upcoming smartphone through its Twitter handle.

Recently, the company confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2) will pack a bigger battery and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Additionally, the brand revealed that the Nothing Phone (2) will be made in India. We even saw the renders of the Phone (2) courtesy of reputed tipster OnLeaks yesterday.

Nothing Phone (2) is expected to launch in July in India and some other markets. Yesterday, prominent leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer collaborated with the publication SmartPrix to unveil the initial renders of the Phone (2) prior to its official launch.

However, shortly after, Nothing founder and CEO, Carl Pei, posted a tweet containing a single word, “fake,” which supposedly refuted the authenticity of the leaked renders.

The leaked renders showed that the Phone (2)’s design language would be quite similar to the Phone (1) from last year.

Just like the original model, the Phone (2) was seen sporting a corner punch-hole screen, a dual-camera setup, and an LED lighting system on the back. The report mentioned that the new device’s back panel will have some changes in the lighting elements.

The publication said that the renders were produced using live shots of Phone (2)’s testing stage unit, highlighting that they represent the device at a specific development stage. The company may incorporate minor design changes before the official launch.

With Nothing already starting to disclose the key specifications of the Phone (2) and the launch date set for July, it is probable that the company will soon begin teasing the device’s design.

This will provide insights into any potential differences in appearance compared to the previously leaked renders.

Nothing has already been revealed that the Phone (2) will be built with sustainable materials.

It will arrive with a 6.7-inch AMOELD display and an aluminium frame. The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and a 4,700mAh battery.

It will come preloaded with Nothing OS UI-based Android. The phone is confirmed to receive three major Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates.

Carl Pei Likely Refutes The Authencity Of Leaked Nothing Phone (2) Renders
The leaked renders revealed that the Nothing Phone (2) will have the same design language as that of the Phone (1) with a few minor changes.

However, soon after these renders were posted, Nothing CEO Carl Pei posted a Tweet containing the single word “Fake”.

Through this Tweet, the CEO supposedly is refuting the authenticity of the leaked Nothing Phone (2) renders.

It is worth noting that the publication when posted the Nothing Phone (2) renders claimed in its report that renders are created based on live pictures of a testing stage unit.

The renders represent the device at a specific point in the development stage, and it is possible that we could end up seeing some minor changes in design until the official launch.

If we have a look at the above renders, we can see that the device has thin bezels across the display and a punch-hole cutout. The rear of the handset includes a dual-camera setup. The lighting elements besides the camera module have been redesigned.

Additionally, the renders also showcase that the Phone (2) frame has been slightly rounded, thereby providing a more comfortable grip and a premium aesthetic appeal.

The LED flash at the back also has been upgraded to a dual-LED configuration, as well as the wireless charging coil has undergone a significant change as it now has multiple small strips of light.

As far as the specifications of the Phone (2) go, the device is confirmed to boast a 6.7-inch AMOLED display.

Nothing Phone 2 everything we know so far

Ahead of launch, the Phone 2 is being touted as one of the most sustainable smartphones on the market. The phone is said to be using 3x more recycled or bio-based parts than Phone 1 with 100 percent recycled aluminium for the outer frame and entirely plastic-free packaging. The Phone 2 also has a carbon footprint over 5kg lower than the Phone 1, Nothing says, and the final assembly plants where it is being build are claimed to be powered by 100 per cent renewable energy.

The Phone 2 is confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship— but a bit dated— Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, theoretically giving it about 80 percent faster performance than the Phone 1 with the Snapdragon 778G Plus inside. It will come with a screen that is 0.15-inch bigger than Phone 1’s (i.e., 6.7-inch) and boast of a battery capacity of 4,700mAh (200mAh up from the Phone 1’s).
