Drishyam 2 was made at a modest budget of Rs.15 crore and its estimated gross as of December 7, 2022, is Rs.273.1 crore, which makes it the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022, while critics have praised the cast, story, editing, and cinematography.

Bollywood Hungama has given it a 4/5, while Times of India gave it 3.5/5, praising its twists and turns that keeps everyone guessing. Firstpost gave it a 3.25/5, praising the cinematography and performances of Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Akshaye Khanna, who was called its surprise package.

All in all, Drishyam 2 has been called a worthy remake of the original movie by Jeetu Joseph that has remained faithful to it, which is why its OTT release is even more awaited than usual.
