Samsung announces new updates for Galaxy Watch4 Series, details inside

To help users reach their health and wellness goals and express their personal style, Samsung Electronics has announced a new update to the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic.

According to the latest update, users can expect new improvements like advanced interval training designed for any cyclist or runner, a new sleep coaching program and new body composition insights. Galaxy Watch4 users will now have even more ways to customize their look with upgraded watch faces, and a new line of stylish straps.

“We understand the growing needs of smartwatch users, and are committed to guiding our Galaxy Watch4 series community on their unique wellness journeys with our latest update,” said Janghyun Yoon, Executive Vice President and Head of Software Platform at Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Electronics. “We are excited to continue this effort as part of our wider initiative to redefine holistic wellness through expanded experiences and new innovations.”

Motivation to move

The latest body composition update gives users even more insight into their health progress. Samsung Health will also be providing body composition insights powered by Centr, a digital fitness program curated by Chris Hemsworth, to help users transform their health, fitness, and mindset. In addition, Galaxy Watch4 users will receive a 30-day trial3 for full and unrestricted access to Center.

Whether you’re just looking to get active or training for an upcoming race, Samsung’s new interval target feature for runners and cyclists lets them pre-set the duration, distance, and a number of sets for their workout. From there, Galaxy Watch4 guides them through a custom intensity training session with a series of high-intensity workouts interspersed with low-intensity workouts, making for an impactful and targeted workout every time.

Work towards a better night’s sleep

Building on Galaxy Watch4’s robust sleep tracking capabilities, the new sleep coaching program helps users develop better sleep habits. By tracking sleep patterns over seven days and completing two related sleep surveys, the program assigns one of eight sleep symbol animals representing the user’s sleep type. Then, it will guide users through a four to five-week coaching program that includes missions, checklists, sleep-related articles, meditation guidance, and regular reports to support users as they work towards improving their sleep quality.

When it comes to waking up refreshed, a peaceful and quiet environment is key to achieving a healthy rest as well. Galaxy Watch4 recognizes when users fall asleep and automatically turns off Samsung SmartThings enabled lights to help create better sleeping conditions.

Deeper insights for a healthier heart

Combined with the advanced BioActive Sensor technology and Samsung Health Monitor app,6 Galaxy Watch4 measures both blood pressure7 (BP) and electrocardiogram8 (ECG), allowing users to monitor their heart health anytime and from anywhere. Since the first introduction in 2020, the Samsung Health Monitor app is currently available in 43 markets globally, expanding to 11 more in March, including Canada, Vietnam, and South Africa.

Greater selection of matching straps and watch faces

The new Galaxy Watch4 update makes the wearable experience even better, from the inside out. Users can further customize their watch face with additional colors and digital clock fonts that make the watch truly their own. Also, new strap colors9 such as burgundy and cream, and the new fabric band and link bracelet will be available for a more personalized look.

Committed to expanding compatibility within the android ecosystem

Coming soon through an additional update, users will be able to stream music over Wi-Fi or LTE from the YouTube Music app on their Galaxy Watch4. This means that users can leave their phone behind and still enjoy their favorite artists as they work out on-the-go.

Additionally, Google Assistant will be available on Galaxy Watch4 series in the coming months. With access to both Bixby and Google Assistant, consumers will be equipped with advanced voice assistant functionality to meet their various needs.

Availability

This software update will be available via the Galaxy Wearable app for Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic starting the day of the Unpacked – February 10. Users can purchase the new watch straps beginning in late February.

Samsung Galaxy S22 will launch in the Metaverse

It is claimed to detect dust particles as small as 10 microns. The vacuum cleaner has a five-stage filtration system that captures 99.99 percent of dust particles, according to the manufacturer. V12 is expected to contribute to the creation of healthier homes at a time when over 70% of people in urban India are purchasing more cleaning products than ever before. The Dyson V12 Detect Slim costs Rs 58,900, which is higher than the company’s previous flagship model in India, the V11 Absolute Pro, which costs Rs 52,900.

Tecno Pop 5S with dual cameras launched

Techno has released the Techno Pop 5S as an affordable smartphone. The smartphone has a 5.7-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 720×1520 pixels. It is powered by the quad-core processor which is paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage option. The affordable Tecno Pop 5S is powered by a quad-core Unisoc processor and features a dual rear camera setup. It has been launched at MXN 2,239 (roughly Rs 8,089). The device comes in purple and green color options.

Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G goes on first sale in India

Oppo recently launched its Oppo Reno 7 series that includes Oppo Reno 7 and Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G in India. A 4,500 mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC fast charging, a 32-megapixel front-facing camera, and a triple back camera configuration are among the new series’ strengths. Both phones are powered by Android 11 with ColorOS 12 layered on top. The Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G launched on sale in India for the first time last night and is currently available for purchase. Sony Mobile, a subsidiary of the electronics giant Sony Corporation, is expected to launch Sony Xperia 5 IV soon. It is expected to be in the market in April this year. Though, anything concrete on the release date and specifications are yet to be announced.

According to rumours, the upcoming model of the Xperia range is likely to have specifications similar to Sony Xperia 1 IV.

The Sony Xperia 5 IV is expected to be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 5000mah battery with 45w charging, 12/16GB RAM and 256/512GB storage. The model is also likely to have improved quad camera system with new sensors and improved design. The report also claims that display of the Sony Xperia 5 IV is likely to be similar to the Xperia 1 III. The Xperia 1 III was launched on August 25, 2021.

Sony should consider offering wireless charging for its upcoming model as it has become a standard feature for high-end handsets. Sony Xperia 5 III does not offer it.

Tech giant Apple is preparing to release a new entry-level MacBook Pro with a few modifications this year. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who has highlighted what to expect from this upcoming MacBook in his ‘Power On’ newsletter by releasing a few nuggets about the new laptop.

According to Gurman, the Touch Bar, as well as the mini-LED backlighting, will be removed from the entry-level MacBook Pro. While it will be eligible for an M2 chip, which is the successor to the M1 that arrived in the 2020 MacBook Pro, it will be without ProMotion display technology and miniLED. Apple’s ProMotion display refresh rate technology determines the appropriate refresh rate based on the content up to 120Hz. But that is not the only compromise you should expect.

To differentiate itself from last year’s MacBook Pro, the upcoming entry-level MacBook Pro may have less storage, lower performance, and no Touch Bar. “I’d expect the next entry-level MacBook Pro to match the high-end MacBook Pros by losing the Touch Bar, but important differentiators will include smaller displays, CPUs, and storage, as well as no ProMotion or miniLED,” Gurman wrote in his newsletter.

The M1 Pro and M1 Max CPUs enable Apple’s highest-performing MacBook Pro, the 2021 MacBook Pro. Despite the fact that the M2 processor will be superior to the M1, analysts believe it will not be as powerful as the M1 Pro or M1 Max, resulting in a performance reduction in the forthcoming MacBook Pro.
