The rapid digitalization has changed our everyday life. It is hard to imagine a life without technology. With digitalization everywhere investments are also not immune to this. The evolving technology has led to the development of digital investments and Non-fungible tokens (NFT) is one of them.

Created using Blockchain technology, NFT is the digital representations of real-world things such as art, music, videos, and in-game purchases. They are unique which makes it non-fungible.

They have become quite popular with collectors of all types including sports trading card collectors. Blockchain technology is used to handle the transaction and encode the identity of the owner of the NFT.

The first NFT

Minted in 2014, Quantum, an octagon-shaped animation by New York artist Kevin McCoy, is regarded as the first NFT. Quantum was sold in November 2021 for $1.4 million.

Digital objects such as Art, GIFs, Videos and sports highlights, Collectibles, Virtual avatars and video game skins, Designer sneakers and Music can be created as NFT.

What is NFT and how does it work

Explaining the new digital asset, Priya Ranjan, professor, Bhuvaneshvar Institute of Technology, says that a non-fungible token (NFT) is a financial security consisting of digital data stored in a blockchain, a form of distributed ledger.

Talking further, professor Ranjan says that the ownership of an NFT is recorded in the blockchain, and can be transferred by the owner, allowing NFTs to be sold and traded. “NFTs can be created by anybody, and require few or no coding skills to create. NFTs typically contain references to digital files such as photos, videos, and audio.  (From Wiki) It is a simple idea of creating an asset from a file which is secured using blockchain and then it is being shared/traded,” adds Ranjan.

Is NFT a Cryptocurrency?

Eradicating confusion between NFT and cryptocurrency, Ranjan says that one should not get confused between NFT and cryptocurrency. “All crypto currencies are equal but NFTs are different from each other. NFTs can be different file with different data, graphics, music and art form,” he adds.

Physical money and cryptocurrencies can be traded or exchanged for one another while NFTs are different. Each NFT  has a digital signature so it cannot be exchanged for or equal to one another.

Are NFTs a Good Investment?

According to him, one should not consider NFT for future investment. On why NFTs are not a good idea for investment, Ranjan adds that it has been collapsing.

Where to sell NFT

Those willing to get into NFT trade must have access to digital wallet and use cryptocurrencies to pay for their purchases. OpenSea, Rarible, SuperRare, Foundation, AtomicMarket, Myth Market, BakerySwap, KnownOrigin, Enjin Marketplace, Portion, Async Art, Nifty Gateway, and Decentraland are some of the prominent places to buy-sell NFT.

Global brands with their own NFT

Recently, MG Motor India forayed into the non-fungible token (NFT). With the launch of NFT, the British brand became the first carmaker in India to launch a collection of NFTs. The MG NFT collection went on sale on December 28, 2021. With 1111 units of digital creatives as part of the launch collection. Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality for Educational Purpose

0
Education
Education

We all know the importance of education for every human being where there are many other benefits that can be reaped apart from getting a well-paid job. Students are fed up with sitting in a classroom of forty people where one teacher cannot focus on any particular weak student.

Today people want to move on with times because Artificial Intelligence is the call for the 21st century. The idea that a human brain can gain knowledge through Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) would have been laughed off a couple of decades back but today it has become a topic of interesting discussion.

In this article, we are going to know about the most important benefits of AR and VR and how they play a major role on young minds so that they get to learn things the smart way instead of the hard way.

Advantages of Augmented Reality

The importance/necessity of computer generated imagery (CGI) is a paramount thing in superhero movies and it is interesting to note that it is slowly rubbing off on the education sector as well.

Augmented Reality is defined as the one where CGI images are superimposed in front of the user’s eyes and influences his view of the physical world, which is real and it gives out a feeling that what is happening in it are happening in the real world.

AR will allow students to study 3D models of different objects and they can use internet through their smartphones where they can also scan images by linking it to the AR model and gain more info regarding the topic.

AR is easy to use and requires no rocket science on behalf of the user because the technology used is highly interactive in nature and all the students need is to gain access on the education models, which is available on their devices that enables them to grasp the concept better.

They can learn the art of recreating images and locations that they did not have access for earlier. While attending a lecture, teachers can provide the necessary resources and materials regarding education.

These are the present era tools that’ll help students in understanding all concepts easily rather than mindlessly cramming stuff into their minds from a 500 page book, which will only add to mental exertion.

A big problem of the Indian education system, among many others, is that it mainly focuses on theoretical learning with very little practical analysis because learning about subjects like science and math with complicated terminology is impossible for many students.

Advantages of Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality is defined as the simulated experience that can be both similar and different from the real physical world and is used in different fields like business, management, healthcare, education, entertainment and many others.

AR vs VR Education

However, it is a vital asset in the field of education especially in classrooms because one of the toughest jobs for a teacher is to keep the students focused in class amidst countless distractions that they easily fall prey to.

The irony is that while technological breakthroughs like smartphones, tablets, social media platforms, etc. have made studying a lot easier, they have simultaneously made it difficult for students to concentrate on their studies.

It is here when VR comes into the picture because if done in a planned and orchestrated way, it will keep the students’ mind off distractive elements and allow him/her to focus more on the topic.

Learning Made Easy

The best way for the mind to learn about something new is to understand it, which is the first step to acceptance and which in turn leads to recovery.

It is no secret that students are fed up with the traditional methods of teaching that is confined to a huge classroom with a blackboard, box of chalks and rows of seats.

VR and AR will help them to virtually travel to far off places while being physically present in the same place. The corona virus has worked as a blessing in disguise in this matter as it has opened up many opportunities for students through online learning and mobile apps.

The most difficult of topics that require a great deal of mental concentration to grasp has been made easy through AR and VR through which students can now develop their own individual identity by exploring new areas of interest in the different subjects.

The students represent the five fingers of the hand and each has his own learning style through which he/she grasps concepts in their own speed, pace and time. With the help of AR/VR, they can create their own profiles and craft a way of learning that matches their style.

It is impossible for teachers to teach unless the students cooperate and actively participate in the daily activities without being forced to do so. AR/VR will pique students’ interest so that they willingly participate in class through which they can learn easily and quickly.

Last but not the least, the traditional way of learning was limited to reading and listening but now they can touch, hear and envision through all body senses thereby creating a sensory synchronization and not just limit itself to one sense.

Android vs iOS debate rages on

The eternal debate on which of the two is better, Android or iOS, continues to rage on where fanatics continue to show their favorite up at the cost of degrading the other. Well, fanatics will be fanatics and no amount of arguments can reach a definitive conclusion.

Tech-Wrap-iPhone13pro

There are countless smartphones from different brands that will cater to the needs of many a customer because all of them have different tastes. This isn’t about which device/brand is better than the other.

This is just to show that there are mature people that provide arguments in a constructive way but are helpless when it comes to convincing the die-hard fanatics. The final decision is up to you, the customer, as it is you who have to decide on which one you want to buy based on preference.

The one that has experienced the use of both Android and Apple can decide which one he’d want to pitch to a customer but that too is a subjective opinion because it all depends on what features he’s looking for in the smartphone he wants to buy.

Some prefer strong battery life while others opt for the best in-class display and yet others want nothing beyond a nice camera set-up. At the end of the day, it is your decision as to which one you want of the two based on your own liking and preference.

The instant messaging app WhatsApp is expected to announce a new feature very soon. According to the latest update, WhatsApp is working on a feature called companion mode. This upcoming feature will allow users to sync chat history between multiple devices. It is believed that WhatsApp users will be able to link a secondary mobile device to their WhatsApp account without having an active Internet.

Users are advised not to get confused between WhatsApp’s new feature and its multi-device support. These two are not the same. The multi-device feature allows users to link four different devices to one single account and does not let users link two smartphones to one account.

According to Wabetainfo, after the introduction of the new feature, currently under development, it will be easier for users to link a second phone to their WhatsApp account. Twitter asks employees to refrain from tweeting about Elon Musk deal, here is why

Employees of the micro-blogging site Twitter have been asked not to tweet anything related to the Musk-Twitter deal. Twitter has sent a memo to the employees asking them not to tweet about the Elon Musk deal. On July 8, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced to cancel the $44 billion Twitter deal.

Twitter was flooded with memes and jokes after Musk announced his decision to pull out of the deal. Citing the reason behind his decision, Tesla honcho has accused Twitter of not providing adequate details about the bot and spam accounts on the micro-blogging site. The Tesla CEO also accused Twitter of breaching multiple provisions of the merger agreement.

Twitter chairman Bret Taylor has now announced to pursue legal action to enforce the merger agreement. The $44 billion deal was inked in April.

As per the letter obtained by The Verge, Twitter employees have been asked not to tweet as it is an ongoing legal matter. The memo has been sent by Twitter’s general counsel, Sean Edgett.

According to the letter, Twitter employees have been asked to refrain from posting Tweeting, Slacking, or sharing any commentary about the merger agreement.

They have been promised to be updated with the latest information. Meanwhile, they have been asked to be patient during an uncertain time.

Earlier in May, Tesla’s CEO announced to keep the Twitter deal on hold citing pending details in support of the calculation that spam and fake accounts indeed represent less than 5% of users. However, it was not taken seriously at that time as he was tweeting various non-serious thing.

Musk is known for his critical attitude towards Twitter’s moderation policy. He has said he wants Twitter’s algorithm to prioritize tweets to be public and was against too much power on the service to corporations that advertise.

Twitter on April 25 announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by an entity wholly owned by Elon Musk at approximately $44 billion. Twitter was to become a privately held company after the completion of the transaction.
