ASUS teased the launch of the ASUS ROG Ally for the Indian market yesterday. The device debuted in the global market last month, and it is set to launch in India in the coming few days.

The ASUS ROG Ally is the first handheld gaming device from ASUS which features a 7-inch Full HD+ display, AMD’s Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, up to 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD storage, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

This means that we can expect the device to launch before the sale date. ASUS is yet to share an official launch date of the handheld gaming console.

ASUS is all set to launch its newest Zenfone series smartphone, the ASUS Zenfone 10, on June 29. The company had confirmed the launch date of the device a couple of days back. Apart from revealing the launch date, ASUS also disclosed some key specifications of the device and the phone’s design.

As per the specifications shared by ASUS, the Zenfone 10 will feature a 5.9-inch punch-hole display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, and wireless charging support. In a recent development, the Zenfone 10’s renders are revealed courtesy of reputed leakster Evan Blass.

Asus ZenFone 10 renders leak ahead of launch

New renders of the Asus ZenFone 10 have been posted online, showing off five different colour variants. Its design is mostly identical to that of its predecessor, complete with two large camera modules and prominent ZenFone branding.

The Asus ZenFone 10 is confirmed for a June 29 global launch. In the US, it could come with a US$749 price tag, something that will certainly vary based on markets. A recent Geekbench listing confirmed it would run Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Now, thanks to renowned leaker Evan Blass, we have a good look at the ZenFone 10’s design and colourways (black, blue, red, white and green).
Looks-wise, the Asus ZenFone 10 hasn’t strayed much from its predecessor, the ZenFone 9.

It keeps the two large vertically-aligned camera modules, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, hole-punch selfie camera and volume rocker. The Asus ZenFone branding, however, has been moved to directly below the camera modules. It doesn’t advertise its camera prowess and gimbal stabilization, either.

Unfortunately, the renders do not clarify the Asus ZenFone 10’s screen size. There are two speculations as of now, 5-9 inches (same as the ZenFone 9) and 6.3 inches. The chances of it being the former are higher, as the ZenFone is one of the few devices that cater to the niche market of sub-6-inch smartphones. Plus, it would involve redesigning a new chassis from the ground up.

ASUS Zenfone 10 To Launch In Five Colours

As per the renders shared by @evleaks, aka Evan Blass, the ASUS Zenfone 10 will be introduced in five colour options – Black, Red, Blue, White, and Green. The Green colour option will be new this time, as the Zenfone 9, which debuted last year, was introduced in Black, Red, Blue, and White colourways.

Additionally, the renders reveal the design of the handset. If we look at the renders, we can see that the smartphone will feature a dual-camera setup accompanied by a LED flash. The device will have a punch-hole cutout at the top left corner of the screen, which will accommodate the selfie camera.

The power and volume keys will be located on the right side of the device. As far as the specifications go, the Zenfone 10 is confirmed to feature a 5.9-inch display. We can expect the smartphone to come with an AMOLED panel which could offer a 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the smartphone is also confirmed to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It might pack up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of internal storage.

As far as the rest of the specifications are concerned, the handset is tipped to feature a 200MP primary camera which could have OIS support. The details about the secondary sensor at the backside remain unknown currently.

The official looking press renders reveals that the Zenfone 10 will retain the same design as its predecessor. It will feature a compact form factor with a boxy design. The device has volume rocker and power buttons on the right side.

The the back panel has two traditional camera rings.The press renders reveal that the Zenfone 10 will be available in black, blue red and white colors. There will also be a green color variant this time.
Apart from this, the press renders do not reveal any additional information of the Asus Zenfone 10.

Ans) OnePlus’s decision to merge its OxygenOS with Oppo’s ColorOS met with a bit of criticism from long-term OnePlus fans. After a bit of back and forth, the company backtracked its plans to bring a unified OS by merging both the OSes and announced that it’ll continue to update existing OxygenOS on the OnePlus devices. The company, however, maintained that it’ll continue to base the new OxygenOS builds on top of the ColorOS. It said that doing so will help it bring a bug-free OS and release new features at a faster rate to its users.

However, the company a while back held an Open Ear Forum, where it admitted its faults and said “OxygenOS 12 did not launch to a standard that meets our own expectations or those of our Community.”

Now that the Android 13 is nearly ready to roll out to the masses, which the OxygenOS 13 is expected to be based on, OnePlus is once again committing to building its in-house skin in a way that will please the enthusiasts. After receiving the required feedback from its Open Ear Forum, OnePlus said that they’ll work on these areas for the

Aquamorphic design

OnePlus is introducing a new design language called “Aquamorphic design” with OxygenOS 13. The company says that it is taking inspiration from nature to create a “burdenless design” and has come up with the “Aquamorphic design”, which is inspired by the amorphous properties of water, is “effortlessly smooth”, and features “fluid adaptation, seamless integration, natural vitality”. The new UX includes a completely redesigned colour scheme, icon design, interface, and layouts, says OnePlus. OnePlus further notes that it has made at least 595 meticulous design changes in OxygenOS 13 to ensure UX consistency across the OS.

Improved resource allocation and memory management

OnePlus is making changes to the way OxygenOS manages resources and memory. OnePlus has optimised the OxygenOS 13’s AI System Booster to achieve up to 30 percent fluency rate, up to 20 percent faster app installation speed, and up to 10 percent faster app startup speed. OnePlus says that the OxygenOS 13 elevates the overall experience of OS and now offers a “smooth, stable, and seamless experience.”

Improvements to OxygenOS AOD features

The company has always used AMOLED panels on most of the portfolio of its Android devices and has offered an Always-on Display (AOD) feature to quickly glance at important information while the phone is locked. The company is now heavily iterating on the AOD feature. OnePlus has extended its partnership with Spotify and is offering extensive controls for Spotify on the AOD screen. You now get music recommendations along with the music controls such as play/pause, forward/backwards, and favourites shortcuts. Further, the company is extending AOD features to Food Delivery AOD, Insight AOD, and Bitmoji AOD.

Gaming improvements
OnePlus is giving a big boost to gaming as well. The company has integrated an improved HyperBoost Gaming Engine and GPA 4.0 frame stabiliser for a smooth and effortless gaming experience. It also includes performance modes to tune the battery savings or prioritise high frame rates for pro gamers.

Quality of life improvements to System launcher

OnePlus has improved the system launcher and has introduced what the company calls ‘Smart Launcher’. The system launcher is now efficient and intuitive at handling things and the large and small folders now dynamically adjust for a more organised space on the home screen. The company says the smart features also extend to other aspects of the launcher including widgets, app handling, and update notifications.

Sidebar Toolbox improvements

Dolby Atmos, Spatial Audio, and fast pair
OnePlus is introducing support for Dolby Atmos (requires hardware support) and support for Spatial Audio to improve the music listening experience. There is now support for Fast pair, which is a feature introduced by Google to make it easy to connect wireless earphones. OnePlus is also adding support for Audio Switch to the OxygenOS 13 to make it easy to switch between multiple connected devices easily.

Support for Nearby Share, RCS messaging, Safety Centre

OnePlus is borrowing many Android 13 features for the OxygenOS 13 update. It even arrives with support for more than 100 sports modes along with other features like music controls, camera controls, and other functionality.

The entertainment bundle, on the other hand, offers just the back cover and is priced at a generous Rs. 25,498, with the higher-end version costing Rs. 27,498.

2) How is Xiaomi Pad 6 Design ?

Ans) Adding some premium elegance to a smart template

The Xiaomi Pad 6 adds a touch of elegance and class to the smart design of the Pad 5. Although both tablets have displays of the same size (11 inches), the Pad 6 is actually more compact.
It measures 254 mm in height (in portrait mode), 165.2 mm in width, and a very impressive 6.5 mm in thickness, as compared to 254.7 mm x 166.3 mm x 6.9 mm of the Pad 5. It is also lighter at 490 grams as compared to the 511 grams of Pad 5.
This drop in weight is remarkable when you consider that unlike the Pad 5, which had come with a plastic back and metal frame, the Pad 6 has an aluminum back as well as a metal frame.

Turn on the display, and the reason for the compactness will become evident – Xiaomi has narrowed the bezels around the display, leaving just enough for holding the tablet. The back and sides are flat, but the back of our Mist Blue model seemed mostly metallic but changed shades to a light blue depending on the angle of the light falling on it.
The camera unit also has been designed to look like the square-ish one on the premium Xiaomi 13 Pro. There are two speaker grilles each at the top and the base of the tablet, with “Dolby Vision Atmos” branding between the speakers on top and a USB Type C port on the base. One side is plain, while another has volume rockers and a charging pad for charging the Smart Pen stylus.

Interestingly, Xiaomi has opted to keep the pin connector to its keyboard on the lower part of the back rather than on the side that connects to the keyboard.
The brand says that this ensures better connectivity with the keyboard, and while we did have fewer accidental disconnects with the keyboard, just how well this plays out, in the long run, will be interesting.

3) What are Xiaomi Pad 6 Specs?

Ans) Beneath all that modern jazz lies an old, but still strong, heart!

The Xiaomi Pad 6 packs in some impressive specs.
The 11-inch display has what Xiaomi calls a 2.8K resolution, which actually is 2880 x 1800. It gives the display a pixel density of 309 ppi and also gives it a 16:10 aspect ratio, more rectangular than the slightly square-ish iPad and OnePlus Pad.
The display is quite bright (550 nits) and vibrant and comes with a 144 Hz refresh rate, which can adjust itself to different levels depending on the content being shown on it.
It is not as sensitive as the 1 Hz- 120 Hz refresh rate range you get on some high-end devices, but it is definitely better than having a single high or low refresh rate for all content.

The presence of four speakers, which adjust their delivery depending on whether you are handling them in portrait or landscape mode (a neat touch that we saw in the Xiaomi Pad 5 as well).

There is support for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, which makes this a very capable multimedia device.
The cameras are a little on the basic side – a 13-megapixel one on the back and an 8-megapixel one on the front.
They are good enough for regular snaps, the odd video, and video calls, but nothing beyond that.

There is no subject tracking in video calls.
Driving all this is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870G processor, which is definitely not the latest and greatest processor around (it was launched in early 2021) but has solid budget flagship genes and has proved itself to be a capable performer for most tasks.
There are two RAM and storage variants – 6 GB/ 128 GB and 8 GB/ 256 GB. There is no 4G/5G variant, though, as Xiaomi, like OnePlus, has put its Internet connectivity options in the Wi-Fi basket. We do not think this is a dealbreaker, given the availability and accessibility of 4G/5G phones and Wi-Fi.

In terms of connectivity, you get Bluetooth and Wi-Fi – there’s no 3.5 mm audio jack or infrared port, but then those are increasingly nearing extinction in the tablet world—the tablet packs in an 8840 mAh battery with a 33W charger in the box. A big miss here is the fingerprint sensor, which we would expect in a device at this price point. There is support for Face ID, but it is not secure enough for transactions.

On the software side, the Xiaomi Pad 6 runs on Android 13 with Xiaomi’s MIUI 14 UI on top of it, with a number of tweaks and touches for being used on a tablet.
There is support for Xiaomi’s Smart Pen (2nd Generation) stylus and also Xiaomi’s keyboard, although the tablet will work fine with just about any Bluetooth keyboard and even a mouse.

The absence of a newer chip and a fingerprint sensor might disappoint some, but the Xiaomi Pad 6 is easily one of the best-specced tablets at its price point.

The team has now expanded the feature globally including India. It has also added a few new features to channels to make them more engaging.

Meta announced today that it is expanding the Instagram broadcast channels feature to all users globally.
The social network began rolling out the feature that allows creators to send photos and videos to their followers directly in February. But now, it should start becoming available to all users.

Creators will be able to use broadcast channels as a public one-to-many messaging tool where they can invite all their followers and share text, image and video updates. They can also share voice notes and create polls to source feedback from fans.

Of course, only creators will be able to send content in the channels and followers will be restricted to reacting to content and voting in polls.

Instagram Broadcast Channels Details

Instagram Broadcast Channels is a public one-to-many messaging tool for creators to stay connected and engage with their followers.
It also allows followers a new way to stay updated about what their favourite creators are up to. Since it is essentially a broadcast feature, only creators can send messages to a channel.

Creators can connect with followers by sending text messages, photos, videos, and voice notes. They can also create polls to get feedback from their followers about anything.
Followers can only react to messages sent to a channel and vote in polls. Some of the popular broadcast channels in India are MC Stan, Mumbai Indians, ICC, Smriti Mandhana, and Armaan Malik.

Instagram has introduced a new channel feature called Collaborators. It will allow creators to invite other creators or fans to participate in their channel. The feature is already available globally.
The team is testing a few more features like creating question prompts, a dedicated channels tab, setting an expiry date and time on channels, and assigning moderators.

How to use Instagram Broadcast Channels?

Instagram says whenever a creator creates a channel, their followers will receive a one-time notification about the same. It will be up to followers whether they want to join a channel. While all channels are discoverable and their content can be seen by anyone, only channel members will receive notifications about future updates.

A member can choose to mute or leave a channel whenever they want. The default notification setting for channels is “Some” but it can be changed to “All” or “None”. All joined channels will be accessible from the inbox and will appear alongside other chats.

How to Join an Instagram Broadcast Channel?

There are multiple ways a Broadcast Channel can be joined. The first one is to tap the channel sticker in the creator’s story or channel link pinned in his/her bio. The one-time notification about a new broadcast channel can also be used to join.

In other related news, the Meta Verified subscription service is now available in India. It lets users buy verified badges for their Instagram and Facebook accounts by paying Rs 699 per month. The subscription is not available for Business accounts yet and legacy verified accounts will not lose their Blue tick.

Broadcast channels and How they will work

If a creator gets access to broadcast channels, their followers will receive a one-time notification to join the channel after the creator sends their first message. They can send this message from their Instagram inbox. Any user can discover broadcast channels and see the content within but only followers who join the channel will get notifications when there are updates.

Followers will have the choice to leave or mute any broadcast channel they have joined whenever they want. They can also control their notifications from creators by going to a creator’s profile, tapping the bell icon and selecting “broadcast channel.”

By default, notifications will be set to “some” but users can change this to “all” or “none.” Followers will only get the invitation notification from a channel unless they have signed up for it.

If they add a channel to their inbox, it will appear with other message threads and notifications will be turned on. At that point, it will function like any other chat except that most users will not be able to reply.

How to join a Broadcast channel

You can access a link to a creator’s broadcast channel through a link on their Story sticker, or one pinned to their Instagram. Or you can join through the one-time notification mentioned above, sent to existing followers. After clicking on any of these, tap “Join broadcast channel.”

New broadcast channel Feature

Apart from expanding the broadcast channel feature globally, Instagram also announced a “Collaborator” feature where creators can invite other creators, or even fans, to participate in their broadcast channels. Think of it like inviting a special guest to a podcast. This feature is also now available globally.

There is a feature called “Collaborators” that will allow the creators to invite other creators or perhaps fans to take part in the Broadcast Channel. From an expert interview to a casual conversation, the followers will be able to keep tabs on the exchange between the creators and their special guests. This feature is available in India.

The option for creators to use question prompts to gather input and responses from followers is one of the new features Instagram is still exploring.
Another is a dedicated channels tab in the inbox, which will make it simple for users to access the channels they have subscribed to and find new ones. These are currently being tested and are not yet accessible in India.
