iQOO is a brand new tech company that was launched in January 2019, and has rolled out some good devices in the past two years that have also received good reviews from all sundry.

While the likes of Apple, Samsung, Google, Xiaomi, and others have dominated the year with devices like iPhone 14 series, Pixel 7 series, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, among others, iQOO is also looking to contribute to the list in the form of its own device.

The company is all set to come out with a new model in its Neo series of smartphones called iQOO Neo 7 SE, which will be a mid-premium range model that will soon be launched at a global scale as its promo poster is now available to the general public.

Weibo is a renowned social media platform in China where the poster was put on display along with the expected key specifications of the model that apparently match the rumours that have been circulating around it.

It will apparently be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC that will be based on the TSMC 4nm fabrication process, aside from the fact that its rival will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 SoC, which will be interesting to see as their performance will be inevitably compared.

The battery capacity is speculated to be 5,000mAh units that may come with a 120W fast charging support, along with an optical image stabilization (OIS) on camera with a 50MP rear end and 16MP sensor at the front for taking selfies.

Jio Cinema Ruins FIFA World Cup 2022 Streaming in India with Glitch-Ridden Stream

0
FIFA World Cup 2022

FIFA World Cup 2022, the most highly anticipated sports event, had a grand opening in Qatar this week with much fanfare and grandeur. However, the football festival started on a not-so-fun note for Indian viewers who planned on streaming the inaugural match on Jio Cinemas App. The online streaming platform suffered constant glitches and intermittent lags throughout the game. The inaugural match was played between Ecuador and the host country, Qatar.

Jio Cinemas, the flagship streaming app of Reliance Jio, has the online streaming rights for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the company is providing free access to its platform for Indian football fans to enjoy the event. However, it appears that the streaming platform wasn’t really prepared to handle the stream on such a huge scale and a lot of difficulties cropped up for viewers across the country. The unexpected error encountered during the live stream along with frequent glitches and buffers. Many fans also complained of low quality video whenever the stream was working.

Miffed fans across the country were quick to turn to social media to voice their disappointment. One of the viewers tweeted, “Streaming is lagging a lot. I even missed the first two goals of this year’s FIFA world cup. Really disappointed.” Another user said in their tweet, “Wow #JioCinema you guys should have tested your servers before putting in your bid for broadcasting #FIFAWorldCup in India. Pathetic service.”

One viewer noted how offering free streaming to viewers would mean nothing if the services are poor, “Can’t even watch 1 min. I subscribed to Voot for the matches. I don’t mind paying instead of this. Very disappointed.” At the same time, another user also pointed out, “Did upgrade the #JioCinema app, no improvement. Still stuck after 3-5 seconds. Awful experience.”

FIFA World Cup 2022

Many viewers even posted buffering videos and screenshots to validate all the issues they were facing trying to stream the game. One viewer posted a video that showed how the live stream started buffering right before an important goal. Soon, negative hashtags against Jio Cinemas started trending on Twitter with the disappointed fans trying to vent their frustration by noting everything that was wrong with Jio Cinema’s streaming service.

Following the backlash on a large scale, the Reliance owned streaming platform had to come out, acknowledge the multiple issues faced by the viewers during the live stream, and tweet an apology. The company, however, tried to apologise with light hearted TikTok meme in an effort to keep the temperature down. The company tweeted, “We are continuously working to give you a great experience. Please upgrade your app to the latest version to enjoy #FIFAWorldCupQatar2022. Apologies for any inconvenience.”

Fans, however, were not really convinced by Jio Cinema’s apology and the light hearted approach of sharing memes while being regretful didn’t really work with the disappointed fans. “At 300 Mbps broadband connection, the picture is getting stuck again & again. It is a very bad experience. Now even @SonyLIV seems superb in comparison to this. It’s gonna be a horrifying experience for Indian fans. Get ready to be disappointed,” wrote one such disappointed Jio Cinema user.

  • Previous rumours tipped the phone to launch as the Xiaomi 14 instead
  • The new tip pegs the phone to offer 120W fast charging, and more

In Brief

Xiaomi has had an excellent 2022, along with its rival tech giants like Apple, Samsung, Google, and others, where all of them have come out with some excellent devices this time around.

There have been many speculations surrounding the upcoming Xiaomi 13 that has been much awaited for a long time and many users have constantly expressed their disappointment at not being able to get any information about it.

Among the many rumours, one of them was Xiaomi in talks of skipping the ’13’ moniker and launching the flagship model as Xiaomi 14, although it turned out to be untrue, but it is expected to come out in the next few weeks.

The supply chain too has revealed certain specifications surrounding the model along with a name change but there are reliable tipsters that are closely connected to inside sources in the company that know the skuttle bug of what is going on, one of whom has totally refuted all such rumours as fake and baseless.

Apart from this, a leaked image has surfaced online which many experts have confirmed to be Xiaomi 13, which reveals a dummy phone made of aluminum that is flat and has squared edges but due to the Xiaomi flagship, the company had no choice but to do away with the round edges.

Xiaomi 13 images that have come out closely resemble an iPhone and that isn’t just due to the squared edges but also the new design on the rear like a camera bump, which again closely resembles the camera modules of an iPhone, the only difference being that this bump occupies more space on the rear than an iPhone.

Then we have the battery capacity which is 5,000mAh units that is said to come with a 120W fast charging support, which is more than 67W to what was the capacity in the Xiaomi 12 model.

The Chinese tech giant wants to make sure that Xiaomi 13 is quite different from all its predecessors which is why there are many features and newer upgrades that users can expect from the upcoming flagship model.

Coming to camera, Xiaomi 13 may come with a 50MP primary rear camera setup, along with an optical image stabilization (OIS) and will be powered by a Sony IMX-8-series image sensor.

ISRO Launches First Private Rocket with Flying Colours; Details Inside

ISRO
Vikram-S

Highlights

  • The Vikram-S successfully lifted off at 11:30 am on Friday from the Sriharikota spaceport of the ISRO.
  • The Vikram-S is named after Indian physicist and astronomer Vikram Sarabhai.
  • It aims to support communication services like broadband internet, GPS, IoT from space, and earth imaging.

In Brief

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is the second largest space agency in the world after National Aeronautics Space Association (NASA), which has acquired a stature and reputation that is difficult to match.

Being the national space agency of India, the fastest developing country in the world, it is not easy to escape the watchful eye of other country’s space agency, especially after the hugely successful Pokhran-II tests in 1998 that threw USA off guard completely.

It was a bolt out of the blue for the superpower that was America where the Central Investigative Agency (CIA) and NASA did not know what hit them and from where, by which time it was too late, and they were left with no choice but to lick their ‘nuclear’ wounds.

They could vent out their frustration only by leveling a couple of sanctions against India, by which time India had already achieved its goal of establishing itself as a full-fledged nuclear state.

Now, in 2022, ISRO has also launched India’s first ever private rocket called Vikram-S, while the mission has been codenamed ‘Prarambh’, which saw the rocket three massive payloads that totally weighed around 85kg.

Barely 3 minutes after taking off from the ground, the rocket had already reached an altitude of 81.5km, while another five minutes later, the payloads separated from the rocket, following which it crashed into the Bay of Bengal after the success of deploying the payloads into orbit.

The Vikram-S has been named after renowned Indian physicist and astronomer Vikram Sarabhai and was developed by Skyroot Aerospace, a private aerospace manufacturer based in Hyderabad, for which it took nearly four years.

ISRO

Sarabhai is considered the pioneer of space exploration who hugely contributed to India’s development of nuclear power, while the payloads deployed were from Bazoomq Armenia, N-Space Tech India, and Space Kidz India, all of which were equipped with sensors to study pressure and acceleration.

Conclusion

Vikram S-series consists of Vikram-I, Vikram-II, and Vikram-III, where the former two had a payload capacity of 480 and 595kg, respectively, for Low Earth Orbit, while the latter had the capacity of 815kg to 500km Low Inclination Orbit.

It took nearly two and a half years for Skyroot Aerospace to develop the rocket with the backup of more than 200 engineers contributing to the project as launching payloads into Low Earth Orbit with nearly 800kg will be validated by the mission.

Galaxy Z Fold3

Highlights

  • Two new Samsung foldable handsets to be updated with One UI 5.0
  • They will be the latest models that will be availed with the update after the 2021 variants
  • The new update will prove to be quite convenient to the users as they can manage things out more smoothly

Brief Summary

Be it Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, OPPO, Infinix, or any tech giant, they all have launched excellent devices this year that will be counted amongst their best for years to come.

As 2022 draws to a close within a few weeks, there are a slew of devices lined up for release from most of the tech giants and in 2023 as well, which is why many users are excited at the prospect of trying out some new ones.

These days, even an Android or iOS that is more than two years old is considered outdated, which is why users are easily bored with their handsets and start looking for better options.

This is why the tech giants have a hard time in bringing out newer updates at regular intervals with the latest one being the One UI 5.0 that Samsung is rolling out for most of its smartphones, beginning with their flagship models in 2022.

Samsung Galaxy Z flip3

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 are now the latest foldable entrants that will get this Android 13 based One UI 5.0, although only those users who were part of the beta program can avail it in the initial stages because Samsung wants to test it on beta models to check if there is any critical bug in the firmware.

Security Patch of Galaxy Z Fold 3

To sum up, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are not, at least now, getting any of the perks that come with One UI 5.0 but there will be a new design for the lock screen, along with newer options for customization purposes, while Monet’s theming engine too has been implemented perfectly.

Due to the theming engine, colour customization can be easily managed through UI, while Bixby too can be improved via widget options as the new firmware comes with a new and upgraded security patch that came out in November 2022 itself.

Both Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 have been equipped with Android-11 based One UI 3.1.1, while also getting OneUI 4.0 in late 2021, which means that One UI 5.0 will be their second major update and they are eligible to get two more.

Samsung galaxy z flip3

Samsung has now promised four years of new updates on Android and security updates of up to five years, which is good news for their users as they can get long time support ahead.

Amazon Is Not Done With Layoff Yet! Next Year More Layoffs

0
Amazon CEO

Hard to witness but many big companies are on a mass lay-off spree, the reasons can vary but the bottom line is employees are getting terminated from their prestigious positions of renowned names, among these names we have recently got Amazon. This multinational e-commerce industry has resorted to terminating a number of its employees from different departments; moreover, Amazon CEO, Andy Jassy added to this new development that the company is observing the decision to lay off more employees after already laying off 3 percent of the workforce through emails. The reason that has surfaced for this fiasco step by the e-commerce giant is due to the “unusual and uncertain macroeconomic environments.”

The company shared its opinion on resuming their operation to slack down some more employees possibly the next year 2023 on the recent conversation with the Amazon’s CEO, Jassy conveyed his idea “Yesterday, we communicated the difficult decision to eliminate a number of positions across our Devices and Books businesses, and also announced a voluntary reduction offer for some employees in our People, Experience, and Technology (PXT) organization. Our annual planning process extends into the new year, which means there will be more role reductions as leaders continue to make adjustments.”

Further he also added addressing the steps the company will be taking ahead about the continuation of the lay off process “Those decisions will be shared with impacted employees and organizations early in 2023. We haven’t concluded yet exactly how many other roles will be impacted (we know that there will be reductions in our Stores and PXT organizations), but each leader will communicate to their respective teams when we have the details nailed down. And, as has been the case this week, we will prioritize communicating directly with impacted employees before making broad public or internal announcements.”

Amazon CEO

Besides this, the CEO has also cleared the air about how the further layoffs will take place, along with why the company is taking a little time before laying off the employees and what plan has the company jotted down to lower the termination levels as the company seems to be making a plan regarding the recovery ammonut for its terminated employees. As the CEO has not given a clear picture; however, given an idea by stating that “We are working to support those who are affected and trying to help them find new roles on teams that have a need; and in cases where that’s not possible, we are offering packages that include a separation payment, transitional health insurance benefits, and external job placement support.”

Conclusion

As Amazon is having words about having a layoff round 2, with which the company will be terminating 10,000 employees in total; however the company is trying to save the interest of their employees but if left helpless they will lay off a good number of employees by the next year 2023. Right now, Amazon is looking for ways to decrease the number of further termination and scrutinize employees’ performance.

OnePlus 11 photos leaked, showing a ceramic body and more!

0
OnePlus 11

The smartphone market is becoming more and more competitive, and it appears that one of the market leaders has raised the stakes once again. The recent leaked images of the new OnePlus 11 showcase that the device will have a ceramic body, giving it a luxurious appearance in the user’s hands. The ceramic material on the rear surface will replace the plastic and glass as we have seen them in the previous models. It’s interesting to note that this will not be the first time that OnePlus will use ceramic material for their devices, as they have already released a limited edition ceramic version of the uber-successful OnePlus X back in 2015, which was sold exclusively in the Indian and European markets.

The device may have a metal frame sandwiched between the ceramic back and the display in addition to having a luxury design and good performance, according to the Chinese Tipper Digital Chat Station. Keep in mind that the tipper referred to the phone in the leaked photographs as the OnePlus 11, not the OnePlus Pro, which the company produces each year with the standard model.

The tipper further added that the phone will come with as much RAM as 16GB. Additionally, UFS 4.0 storage, offering extremely high transfer speeds, can also be one of the specifications provided by OnePlus. The device will grab a 2K display with a QHD+ resolution of 3,216 x 1,440 the device is also rumoured to have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display on the front that supports a 120 Hz refresh rate and has a QHD+ resolution. This would be a first for a vanilla model from OnePlus that has a QHD+ resolution.

The device may include a 5000mAh battery with 100W fast charging capabilities and run OxygenOS, which is most likely based on Android 13. The 32 MP front camera will be accompanied by a 50 MP primary camera and a 48 MP ultra-wide camera on the back.

It is a given that the recently released Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset will be used in the device’s processor. OnePlus has stated that its upcoming flagship will be the first to include the aforementioned SoC at its core. The new Qualcomm product claims a 35 percent faster CPU, a 25 percent quicker GPU, and an up to 435 percent improvement in AI.

As Metaverse Plummets, WhatsApp and Messenger Looked Up to for Sale Growth

WhatsApp

Highlights

  • Metaverse has flopped miserably due to which there is chaos
  • Mark Zuckerberg now has high hopes on WhatsApp and Messenger for Sale Growth
  • Investors are extremely disappointed at Metaverse’s abysmal performance and want a better alternative to put their hard earned money on

In Brief

It seems that Meta is going through a rough phase these days due to a massive drop in Metaverse sales that has plunged investors into a pall of gloom from which they are not able to come out.

It could be that they had pinned all their hopes and money on such an ambitious project given that Metaverse is a way to study the branch of alternate reality and they were perhaps hoping that it will prove to be useful in the future.

As if things were not bad enough, there was a mass layoff a couple of weeks back that affected nearly 11,000 employees big time and the failure of Metaverse has indeed hit investors where it has hurt them the most as most of the invested dough has gone down the drain.

Even Zuckerberg has acknowledged it as a huge blow to the company as he has lost a small fortune, which is why he is now looking up to WhatsApp and Messenger to recover lost ground as he is hopeful that sales will boost exponentially because both are two of the most prominent messaging platforms in existence.

Metaverse

However, it is abundantly clear that Zuckerberg has to tread his steps carefully as even a slight miscalculation can cause disaster but as of now, it is not yet clear as to what exactly his plans are regarding WhatsApp and Messenger.

It seems that the company has decided to add new ads in the messenger application, which can later be used as Status, although there are many speculations that it will be a subscription plan.

Telegram already has a premium tier where subscribers get many advantages and perks, which is why Meta may try out something similar so that its fortunes soar up once again like adding new tools to the groups, work out business advantages, along with many other perks.

WhatsApp is the most popular messaging platform in the world with the maximum followers from Brazil and India, which has moved on from being a mere platform for sending/receiving messages to something much bigger, which is why Meta is keen on expanding its investments in the app.

Whatever the situation maybe, Meta has many cards up its sleeve that it will utilize at the right time so that the company comes back on the right track for which it plans to use WhatsApp and Messenger as the Aces.
