Jio AirFiber was unveiled by Reliance Industries at its 45th AGM last year. As the name suggests, Jio Air Fiber is designed to give users fiber-like speed wirelessly through a 5G antenna.

Jio AirFiber is also claimed to provide internet speeds up to 1Gbps. There hasn’t been an official launch date yet but it is speculated to debut sometime this year. A new report now suggests the Jio AirFiber launch will take place in another month or two.

The Jio AirFiber services will reportedly launch in June or July this year, according to a YouTuber “The Technologist”. The YouTuber has also uploaded a video showcasing what’s said to be the Jio AirFiber, and has demonstrated its unboxing and installation.

According to the video, there are two variants of the AirFiber where one is a Wi-Fi router which is non portable, and the other is portable and comes with Wi-Fi 6 support. Even the expected pricing has been tipped with the non-portable one retailing at Rs 5,500, and the portable one at Rs 6,000.

India’s largest telecom operator, is expected to launch its new services soon. The telecom operator is likely to launch Air Fiber services in the country in the coming months. The Air Fibre services are expected to increase Jio’s connected home strategy. The Air Fiber services are known for providing high-speed internet without traditional wires.

The new development has been shared by Reliance Industries President Kiran Thomas. He said that Jio Air fiber be available in the coming months and it will accelerate the company’s strategies for connected homes. He added that the company plans to bring this service when 5G will be available to the majority of people.

Also, Jio plans to expand Jio Fiber and Air Fiber services to 100 million houses in the coming two to three years. Thomas also believes that Air Fiber services will increase the home broadband base due to its advantage of 5G network.

Reliance Jio Profits In March 2023

Besides, Jio has managed to increase its profit by 13 percent to Rs 4,716 crore by the March end; however, this is the smallest growth in profits due to investments made in 5G services and no plans to raise tariffs. The profit was Rs 4,173 crore in the Q4 of the last financial year. On the other hand, the company has increased its average revenue per user to Rs 178.8 from Rs 167.6 in March 2022.

Apart from that, the company announced that its users have consumed over 10 exabytes of GB of data in a month. The report issued by Jio said that the average user is consuming 23.1GB of data every month. This is 10GB extra or more in the last two years.

In addition, the company said that it has added more than 3,50,000 5G cells all over the country. Plus, the company shared that so far its True 5G services are available in 2,300 towns and cities and plans to cover all 22 circles by the end of this year. How to use Phone Link for iOS

Once it’s available, a pop-up screen explaining what Phone Link is will appear. Here, you’ll have to choose whether you want to connect an Android or iOS phone to your Windows PC.

So your iPhone has to be always connected to the Windows PC via Bluetooth to use Phone Link features. Also, Phone Link supports only iOS and not iPadOS. iMessage support on Phone Link also comes with limitations as you cannot share photos or videos, and access group chats on Phone Link.

The limitations are due to iOS, and there’s no word on whether it will be relaxed in the future. But for now you can enjoy the basic features on Phone Link for iOS.

A large number of counterfeit Apple products valued at approximately $290,000 (R2,36,92,855) were confiscated at Washington Dulles International Airport in the US. On March 15th, at Dulles, officers examined four shipments sent from China to an address in Fairfax County, Virginia.

As per the US Customs and Border Protection release, the shipments comprised 1,000 Apple AirPods Pro and 50 Apple Watches, NBC Washington reported.

The officers detained the products for investigation, suspecting them to be counterfeit. The Machinery Centers of Excellence and Expertise (CEE) trade experts have examined pictures of the products and concluded that they are fake.

Authorities seized counterfeit Apple products On March 29th. However, no charges have been made in relation to the incident, the report said.

Apple iOS 16 feature to detect Fake AirPods

The issue of counterfeit products has been a longstanding battle for Apple, with AirPods and AirPods Pro being particularly affected. According to a report in 2021, Apple has suffered a loss of approximately $3.2 billion (Rs 261,883,539,200) due to counterfeit AirPods. Because of this, Apple added a feature to iOS 16 that tells users if they connect a fake pair of AirPods.

Apple introduced a new verification check in the iOS 16 update to identify fake AirPods. Users will receive an alert from iOS indicating that their headphones are not authentic when they pair fake AirPods. Users are not prevented from pairing or using fake AirPods with this feature. The notification notifies the user that they are utilising fake AirPods.

Apple has battled counterfeit products for years, but it’s been a major problem for AirPods and AirPods Pro especially. In fact, a report in 2021 estimated that fake AirPods had cost Apple around $3.2 billion.

To counter this, Apple added a new system in iOS 16 last year that warns users when they attempt to pair counterfeit AirPods with their iPhone or iPad.

Still, some manufacturers of fake AirPods have already found ways to circumvent that iOS 16 warning.

In the past, Apple has said that it works with “law enforcement, customs, merchants, social media companies, and e-commerce sites” around the world to remove counterfeit product listings.
