Apple has rolled out the most-awaited iOS 16.4 update to all eligible iPhones i.e iPhone 8 and later.

This update brings some notable features and improvements such as the eligibility to receive notifications on web apps from Safari and will also include badge count on the home screen.

These notifications are configurable with Focus mode. The update also adds Voice Isolation for cellular calls, the same feature that was previously available on FaceTime.

The iOS 16.4 is one of the last few major upgrades before the iOS 17 arrives at the WWDC 2023 conference, probably in June.

iOS 16.4 update features

The Voice Isolation feature for cellular calls is claimed to improve ambient noise reduction.
The feature is currently available on FaceTime and other third-party VoIP call apps.

There are a total of 21 new emoji symbols with the new iOS release and these include hand gestures, a pink heart, jellyfish and a Wi-Fi symbol.

Photos app gets the ability to remove duplicate photos and videos across iCloud Share Photo Libraries.

Apple has brought back the page turn animation to the Books app in the iOS 16.4 build.

The update also brings improvements to crash detection on the iPhone 14 series and VoiceOver support for maps in the Weather app.
