iQOO 11S: Official picture reveals familiar design for future flagship

A Vivo executive has confirmed that iQOO plans to release a new version of the iQOO 11, six months after the flagship’s launch.
The iQOO 11S is expected to arrive later this year with 200 W fast charging and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or Dimensity 9300 chipset.

It appears that iQOO is close to releasing a refresh of the iQOO 11, which it announced in December 22. References to the iQOO 11S have been seen before, with Digital Chat Station referring to the device at least twice in recent weeks.
While iQOO has not confirmed the existence of the iQOO 11S yet, Jia Jingdong, Vivo’s China VP and GM of Brand and Product Strategy, has shared a picture of the device on Weibo.

For reference, Vivo is the parent company of iQOO, itself a brand of BBK electronics. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the back of the iQOO 11S appears unchanged from the iQOO 11, as is the case with the upcoming Vivo X90s.

Thus, it seems likely that the former will retain the latter’s 6.78-inch display, which operates at 1440p, 144 Hz and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Reportedly, the iQOO 11S will rely on a smaller 4,700 mAh battery, albeit one that it can recharge at 200W, an 80 W higher peak wattage than its predecessor.

However, it is unclear which chipset will power iQOO’s future flagship. Previously, Digital Chat Station has claimed that iQOO would continue to rely on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the same chipset it uses in the current iQOO 11.

With no ‘Plus’ mid-cycle refresh, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 remains Qualcomm’s most powerful smartphone chipset until later this year.
Conversely, GSMArena asserts that the iQOO 11S could be a candidate for the Dimensity 9300, an unreleased chipset that MediaTek is not expected to announce until the autumn.

iQOO is working on a new smartphone under the iQOO 11 series. The upcoming iQOO 11S smartphone is said to feature improved fast charging support and better performance.

The handset, according to a new leak, has been tagged as the iQoo 11s. The smartphone could debut with a new processor or may go with an existing option. Keeping the new processor in mind, the placement of the new handset in the iQoo 11 series hierarchy also remains unknown. There is also a model number and details regarding the variants of this upcoming handset that have leaked online.

Tipster Paras Guglani (@passionategeekz) along with MEFMobile have collaboratively leaked out information about an upcoming iQoo smartphone tagged as the iQoo 11s. The handset will reportedly have the model number V2304A when released in China, but will have a different model number when it is released globally. This indicates the phone will first be launched in China followed by a global release. The source also claims that the iQoo 11s will be launched in China in the “third quarter” and is expected to release in global markets by August or June this year.

As for specifications, the iQoo 11s is expected to arrive in two variants. There could be a base variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage and a second option with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The iQoo 11s is expected to feature a 6.78-inch QHD+ resolution (3,200 x 1,440 pixels) E6 AMOLED panel made by Samsung. The handset is expected to be powered by a yet to be announced MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC or an existing Dimensity 9000 series SoC when released in China. The handset could also be equipped with UFS 4.0 RAM.

Other details about this new handset remain unknown. This includes details regarding its camera specifications and its battery charging-related details, which would give us a better idea about whether it is placed alongside the iQoo 11 Pro or below the iQoo 11 in terms of value. While a global launch is expected, it’s unclear whether the iQoo 11s will make it to India as iQoo has also held back on launching the iQoo 11 Pro model this year.

The iQoo 11 was launched in India in January priced at Rs. 59,999 for the base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The smartphone was also launched in a 16GB RAM variant, which is available at Rs. 64,999 in India. Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 12, an inexpensive smartphone with a 90 Hz and 1080p display.
Also packed with a 5,000 mAh battery and a 50 MP primary camera, the Redmi 12 will be available in multiple configurations with three launch colour options.

Xiaomi has now lifted the lid on the Redmi 12 after several detailed leaks. According to Xiaomi’s Thai website, the Redmi 12 relies on the Helio G88, a mid-range chipset that MediaTek released in 2020.

For reference, the Helio G88 contains two ARM Cortex-A75 CPU cores clocked at 2 GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores restricted to 1.8 GHz and a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU that peaks at 1 GHz.

Xiaomi complements the mid-range chipset with LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 flash storage, plus a 5,000 mAh battery that recharges at up to 18 W.

Additionally, the Redmi 12 packs a 6.79-inch IPS display with a 2,460 x 1,080-pixel resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate.
However, the handset can vary its display refresh rate between 36 Hz, 48 Hz, 60 Hz and 90 Hz to reduce power consumption.

Elsewhere, the Redmi 12 has a MicroSD card reader for up to 1 TB of storage expansion, along with 50 MP primary, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle, 2 MP macro and 8 MP front-facing cameras.

The device also runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13, unlike some other recent mid-range Xiaomi smartphones like the POCO X5.
Currently, Xiaomi has only announced the handset in Thailand, although the Redmi 12 is expected to cost €199 in the Eurozone.

The Redmi 12 retails for THB 5,299 (~US$153) in Thailand with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. A cheaper 4 GB of RAM option should be available too, but neither of Xiaomi’s official retailers stock such a variant yet.
