Ans) As per the latest information, multiple users are getting messages from the platform delivering this sad news. The message says that the Live TV channels will be discontinued from SonyLIV from August 30, 2023. The brand has also updated the Term of Use policy to reflect the latest changes.
For the unintended, SonyLIV has a Live TV section where it shows live telecasts of various Sony-owned channels, including Sony Set, SAB, Sony Marathi, Sony Max, and BBC Earth. So, from August 30, users won’t be able to see these channels and their content on the platform. That said, the major reason behind removing these live channels is not known at the time of writing. However, three could be different factors in the play.
One could be the shrinking user base of SonyLIV, which is forcing the company to limit its availability. Another reason could be the fact that the company wants people to subscribe to their channels on the set-top boxes.

* Netflix has replaced the Downloads tab in its mobile platforms with My Netflix. * My Netflix is a mobile hub housing My List entries, downloads, saved videos, liked movies and shows, etc. of the user. * The feature is already rolling out to iOS users and will land on Android in August. * With this new update, Netflix aims to improve how users find movies and shows on their platform.
Amid the global crackdown on password sharing, streaming giant Netflix has begun rolling out a new feature, called ‘My Netflix’ for mobile app users.
The new ‘My Netflix’ tab aims to improve how users find movies and shows on their platform.
Netflix has introduced a new My Netflix hub on iOSand Android platforms. The OTT streaming platform is known for its intuitive interface, making it extremely easy for users to find what to watch next or resume watching.
The company has now made it even easier to help users choose what they want to watch with the launch of My Netflix hub on Android and iOS.
My Netflix
Let’s take a look at what My Netflix is and how it can be beneficial to users.
Netflix launched today a new shortcut option for mobile users who want to quickly find their favorite and need-to-watch titles.
Dubbed “My Netflix,” the feature acts as a dedicated space for recently watched movies and TV shows, downloaded titles, trailers, reminders for upcoming titles, liked (thumbs up) titles, “Continue Watching,” the “My List” section and more.
“My Netflix” is replacing the “Downloads” tab located at the bottom-right corner of the screen, the company says.
The new feature allows viewers to easily access all the series and movies that they already want to watch in one place.
Plus, it’s our opinion that the location of My List on the home screen is way too far down and takes a lot of scrolling to find it.
My Netflix hub
Going to the “My Netflix” tab could cut back time on endless swiping and browsing Netflix’s huge library of titles.
“Keep in mind that the more you interact with and tell Netflix what you like, such as saving more action-thrillers like ‘Extraction 2’ to My List or giving a thumbs up to every season of ‘Bridgerton,’ the more you’ll see on the My Netflix tab,” Netflix noted in today’s blog.
The new destination is available on iOS devices starting today and will roll out on Android devices in early August.
Separately, Netflix reported its second-quarter results last week, gaining 5.9 million subscribers for a total of 238.4 million global members.
Netflix Accounts
“When you’re on the move with your phone, go directly to My Netflix, where you can quickly choose something you’ve saved or downloaded to watch. You can still visit your Home tab and other sections of the app to discover our full catalog of series and films,” Netflix Product Manager, Edith Chao, wrote in a post.
While it sounds like a handy new tab to have across all of the places where you use Netflix, it’s only on the mobile apps to start.
I asked Netflix if it’s coming to the company’s web and TV apps. That’s “something we’re exploring, but no exact timeframe yet,” Netflix spokesperson MoMo Zhou tells The Verge.
Netflix Household
The streaming giant recently announced that users in India could no longer share their Netflix accounts with people outside their households.
This move comes after Netflix announced a crackdown on password sharingin countries like the US and Canada in May, which resulted in nearly 6 million new subscribers for the platform.
Under the new policy, only those who belong to your ‘Netflix Household’ will be allowed to access your account.
Netflix will use information like IP addresses, device IDs, and account activity to check if a device is part of your Household.
My Netflix Tab Availability
My Netflix Tab Availability
As far as availability is concerned, Netflix says that the new tab will be available in its iOS app globally starting today and that the Android app will get the functionality later in August.
My Netflix Tab Features
My Netflix Tab Features
The newly launched ‘My Netflix’ tab takes over the Downloads tab.
Under this tab, users can find all their downloaded TV shows and movies that they saved for offline viewing. The ‘My Netflix’ tab also offers a consolidated view of various things, including:
1) TV series and movies that users have liked by giving them a ‘thumbs up.’ 2) Shows and films added to their personal My List watch list. 3) Trailers they have watched. 4) Reminders they set for upcoming releases. 5) A list of titles they are currently in the middle of watching. 6) A record of what they’ve recently watched.
What does the My Netflix Tab exactly do ?
My Netflix section
As Netflix explains it, the My Netflix is a “one-stop shop tailored to you with easy shortcuts to help you choose what you want to watch”.
This new tab will not only house all of a user’s downloads, but it will also show all the TV series and movies that users’ gave a thumbs up to, shows and films that they have saved to My List, trailers that they have watched, and the reminders that they have set.
In addition to that, the new My Netflix section will also showcase the TV shows and moviesthat users are in the middle of watching, or have recently watched.
Simply put, the My Netflix tab will have all the content that users have ear-marked on the platform.
My Netflix on iOS
Faqs
1) Netflix Replaces Downloads Tab With My Netflix on iOS And Android.Details?
Ans) According to the official announcement on the Netflix blog, the dedicated Downloads tab in the Android and iOS apps of Netflix is going away. Previously, the downloads tab was used to list all the movies and TV show episodes users have downloaded for offline viewing.
There was a My List option hidden deep within settings, which displayed movies or TV shows added to the list or liked by the user.
Netflix is now consolidating both these sections in My Netflix hub, which replaces the My Downloads tab in the bottom right corner. The new tab will continue to show the movies and shows that the users have downloaded or saved.
It also shows users the movies or TV shows they have given thumbs up to. Apart from these, the My Netflix tab also lists the content that the user has saved to My List, reminders of upcoming shows or movies currently watching or recently watched, among others.
It lists everything you are looking forward to, are currently watching, or have already watched recently. Therefore, whenever users are looking for something to watch and are confused about what to watch, they can simply head to the My Netflix tab to find something that interests them.
According to Netflix, the key to having a great My Netflix hub is to interact more with Netflix and add more info like rating shows you watch, adding favourite content to your list, setting reminders, and liking or disliking the movie or show after you have finished them, and so on.
Users can still head to the Home and other sections of the OTT platform to explore the complete list of content and find something new that excites them. The My Netflix hub will be available to Android users in August and is already rolling out for iOS users.
2) Netflix Rolls Out ‘My Netflix’ Tab for Quick Access to Saved Shows and Downloads.Details?
Ans) The tab is described as a tailored one-stop shop that provides shortcuts to the shows and movies you want to watch. And it appears the more you interact with it, the more content will appear in the tab.
If you’re an iPhone user, you’ll be able to take advantage of this new feature starting today. Android phone owners will not get this feature right now. They have to wait a bit. Netflix says it will roll out this new feature for Android sometime in early August.

The Realme Pad from last year was easily one of my most recommended option for people looking at the sub Rs 15,000 market.

Realme Pad 2: Unboxing
The unboxing experience of the Realme Pad 2 is quite standard. Opening the box, you see the tabletplaced on the top.
It is packaged expertly in a translucent cover that comes off quite easily. We have received the Inspiration Green colour variant which looks quite good from the outside.
Below the tablet are two compartments, one of which houses a 33W white charger and companion USB Type-C cable.
The second compartment has the regular paperwork, involving an operational manual, and a SIM ejector toolkit.
Realme Pad 2: Design and Display
Realme Pad 2: Design
Let’s first look at how well the Realme Pad 2 is crafted. Its extremely thin and light design make it a handy companion when you are travelling.
With just 7.2mm in thickness the device is quite easy to hold although the rest of its dimensions may want you to prop it on a table for better utility.
Currently no case or keyboard folio is on offer for the Pad 2 although it’s likely that Realme can announce both in the future. The construction on the tablet is metallic in nature which gives it a sturdy look.
Inspiration Green colour scheme
From a durability standpoint the tablet’s exterior is quite firm and doesn’t bend even when considerable force is applied on both sides.
The tablet weighs just above 500g, which is decent enough for device with a 11.5-inch screen.
As mentioned above, we quite like the Inspiration Green colour scheme which is present in two shades of floral green. The portion with a lighter shade runs vertically down the camera module while the darker tone is present across the rest of the back.
On the bottom you can spot a Type-C port for charging purposes and it is flanked on either side with speakers.
The top edge also has a couple of speaker grills, which provide the tablet with stereo sound, and there is the power button on the side.
Realme Pad 2 Display
Apart from that the camera housing encloses a single sensor even though the size of the camera hump falsely suggests room for more optics. Also the camera ring does jut out ever so slightly from the back.
Talking a bit about the viewing experience, we did enjoy the expansive screen offered on the Realme Pad 2. What’s more it is the only device in its segment to offer an 11.5-inch screen with full 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Any operation or swiping or just navigation in general is extremely fluid on the panel. Realme also claims to display 1 billion colours on the Pad 2 thanks to the O1 Ultra Vision Engine.
Realme Pad 2 Side View
While there is no HDR capability on offer, the content we viewed on the tablet was punchy in its colour reproduction and quite vivid.
Brightness levels of 450nits can be achieved which we feel is good enough for indoor usage.
Apart from that bezels surrounding the panel are relatively trim and offer enough space to place your fingers without incurring accidental touches.
Realme Pad 2: Features and Software
Realme Pad 2: Features
The device is meant for usage in landscape mode and most of the tablet’s UI elements are catered to accomplish that.
We checked apps like Chrome, YouTube, and several of the pre-installed Realme applications, all of which utilise the Tab 2’s large screen real estate.
On Chrome the interface is quite akin to what you experience on a PC or a laptop with tabs present on the top half. YouTube is similar as well with the a list of recommended videos displayed alongside the main video that is playing.
Realme UI 4.0, based on Android 13 is running on the tablet. There are of course the familiar issues of bloatware that plague the device but apart from that the interface is actually quite nice to use.
The multitasking capabilities of this system offer a range of convenient features. With Split Screen, you can effortlessly use two apps simultaneously side by side.
Realme Pad 2 Software
Additionally, the Flexible Window feature allows you to create floating windows within apps, making multitasking even more intuitive.
For quick access to functions and apps, the compact Smart Sidebar panel comes in handy.
Moreover, the Reading Mode enhances the e-reading experience by replicating the texture of real book pages, providing users with a comfortable and eye-friendly interface that closely resembles reading a physical book.
On the back you can also find an 8MP camera which is not the best for any great photography needs but can be used for a standard point and shoot experience.
The 5MP selfie shooter is at the centre of the top-bezel, an ideal position for effective video calling, which the device accomplishes without a hitch.
Realme Pad 2 Back Panel
The device also has 4G LTE functionality and you can insert a nanoSIM inside the tablet to have internet on the go. We did test it out on Jio’s Noida network and got decent download speeds.
The audio quality on the Realme Pad 2 is also quite impressive. Its quad-speaker setup has very good depth and also reasonably good bass, while the volume can get pretty loud without cracking up.
Together the massive display and the audio setup make the Pad 2 a very competent media consumption machine.
Realme Pad 2: Performance and Battery
Realme Pad 2 Battery
Running underneath the hood is a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, a capable budget chipset that has been efficient on several smartphones before.
This also includes a few phones from the Realme stable as well. While our testing process does include benchmark numbers to give a more quantitative analysis of the performance of a device, for some reason none of our standard apps were downloading on the tablet.
However, in general, our usage was relatively smooth, helped, of course, by the fluid 120Hz panel. App switching was fast as were their opening speeds.
The 8GB of RAM also aids with the several Chrome tabs that we operated while testing the device.
You can increase this memory via virtual swap with the internal storage so that the total operational RAM becomes up to 16GB.
A Perfect Tablet For The Budget Audience
We also tried BGMIon the tablet and it ran effectively at 45fps while graphics were set at Ultra.
Of course, there is scope for improvement in the performance aspect of the device and users with more processing needs might not be entirely satisfied with the Pad 2’s output.
As for the battery life, the device’s 8,360mAh cell makes the tablet quite easily a two day device, if all you are doing is browsing media content and social media.
I kept the device running at 120Hz and at about 60 percent screen brightness the entire time, for this battery test.
Charging up the device with the 33W charger in the box is slightly slow and takes more than three hours to completely juice up.
Final Verdict
Realme Pad 2 Screen Quality
For its starting price of Rs 19,999, the Realme Pad 2 is actually a very good deal. It certainly has a spec sheet that imbibes Realme’s philosophy of providing the best bang for the buck.
Chief amongst them is a 11.5-inch 2K panel that refreshes at 120Hz, a feature that no other tablet is offering in the segment.
There’s also the design aspect of the tablet which makes it quite ergonomical to use although having a case provided alongside would help a lot.
Performance did not feel lacking although a better chipset could have been used in my opinion.
Realme Pad 2 Rear Camera
The software is modified effectively for tablet usage, but Realme still insists on using a lot of its own pre-installed apps.
As for the battery life, it is in the acceptable range, and I’m really impressed with the speaker setup on offer.
Overall, the Realme Pad 2 gets my thumbs up as an effective media consumption tool under Rs 20,000.
