Netflix has introduced a new My Netflix hub on iOS and Android platforms. The OTT streaming platform is known for its intuitive interface, making it extremely easy for users to find what to watch next or resume watching.

The company has now made it even easier to help users choose what they want to watch with the launch of My Netflix hub on Android and iOS.

Netflix launched today a new shortcut option for mobile users who want to quickly find their favorite and need-to-watch titles.

Dubbed “My Netflix,” the feature acts as a dedicated space for recently watched movies and TV shows, downloaded titles, trailers, reminders for upcoming titles, liked (thumbs up) titles, “Continue Watching,” the “My List” section and more.

“My Netflix” is replacing the “Downloads” tab located at the bottom-right corner of the screen, the company says.

The new feature allows viewers to easily access all the series and movies that they already want to watch in one place.
Plus, it’s our opinion that the location of My List on the home screen is way too far down and takes a lot of scrolling to find it.

Going to the “My Netflix” tab could cut back time on endless swiping and browsing Netflix’s huge library of titles.

“Keep in mind that the more you interact with and tell Netflix what you like, such as saving more action-thrillers like ‘Extraction 2’ to My List or giving a thumbs up to every season of ‘Bridgerton,’ the more you’ll see on the My Netflix tab,” Netflix noted in today’s blog.
The new destination is available on iOS devices starting today and will roll out on Android devices in early August.

Separately, Netflix reported its second-quarter results last week, gaining 5.9 million subscribers for a total of 238.4 million global members.

“When you’re on the move with your phone, go directly to My Netflix, where you can quickly choose something you’ve saved or downloaded to watch. You can still visit your Home tab and other sections of the app to discover our full catalog of series and films,” Netflix Product Manager, Edith Chao, wrote in a post.

While it sounds like a handy new tab to have across all of the places where you use Netflix, it’s only on the mobile apps to start.

I asked Netflix if it’s coming to the company’s web and TV apps. That’s “something we’re exploring, but no exact timeframe yet,” Netflix spokesperson MoMo Zhou tells The Verge.

The streaming giant recently announced that users in India could no longer share their Netflix accounts with people outside their households.

This move comes after Netflix announced a crackdown on password sharing in countries like the US and Canada in May, which resulted in nearly 6 million new subscribers for the platform.

Under the new policy, only those who belong to your ‘Netflix Household’ will be allowed to access your account.
Netflix will use information like IP addresses, device IDs, and account activity to check if a device is part of your Household.

As far as availability is concerned, Netflix says that the new tab will be available in its iOS app globally starting today and that the Android app will get the functionality later in August.

The newly launched ‘My Netflix’ tab takes over the Downloads tab.

Under this tab, users can find all their downloaded TV shows and movies that they saved for offline viewing. The ‘My Netflix’ tab also offers a consolidated view of various things, including:

This new tab will not only house all of a user’s downloads, but it will also show all the TV series and movies that users’ gave a thumbs up to, shows and films that they have saved to My List, trailers that they have watched, and the reminders that they have set.

In addition to that, the new My Netflix section will also showcase the TV shows and movies that users are in the middle of watching, or have recently watched.

Simply put, the My Netflix tab will have all the content that users have ear-marked on the platform.
