Byju’s appoints Puneet Bhirani as senior Vice President for operations

Byju’s today announced the appointment of Puneet Bhirani as senior Vice President for operations.

In his role, Puneet will oversee the company’s overall operations strategy as well as build a strong and innovative technological support to scale the business. Given the company’s growth across new products and platforms, he will strengthen internal capacity as per the strategic objectives.

He has also been associated with brands like Ola, Digital Risk, MphasiS, Planet Asia, and Asea Brown Boveri Ltd.

Puneet holds an advanced MBA degree from the University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School and an MBA from S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research.

Sumo Digital announces further expansion with new Bangalore Studio

Geographic Information System (GIS) software and solutions provider Esri India today introduced Site Scan for ArcGIS, a complete cloud-based drone mapping solution, which encompasses flight planning, data capture, data processing, analysis, data sharing and drone fleet management. It is offered as ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) with unlimited storage and computing. Site Scan for ArcGIS is hosted in India, on a cloud approved by the Government of India, and ensures that the drone data is stored and processed within India in compliance with the government regulations. Site Scan for ArcGIS exhibits the capability to process data captured by most of the drones manufactured in India or abroad.

The recent announcement by the Ministry of Civil Aviation on the New Drone Rules 2021, simplified the procedures and reduced the compliances required for operating a drone in India. Earlier in February this year, the New Geospatial Data Guidelines announced by the Department of Science and Technology had deregulated the collection, processing, and storage of geospatial data. According to a report on India’s Mobile Phone market for July by Counterpoint Research, Transsion across brands (itel, Tecno & Infinix) has emerged as the no.1 handset player by capturing 28% percent market share in sub 10K segment.
