Realme has silently launched a new budget handset in the market. The smartphone maker has introduced Realme Narzo 50i Prime. A 6.5-inch HD+ display, Unisoc T612 chipset, up to 32GB expandable storage, and an 8MP rear camera are key specifications of the Realme Narzo 50i Prime.

The newly launched smartphone will be sold via AliExpress later this month. There is update about the availability of the smartphone in India.

Featuring a water-drop notch to accommodate the selfie snapper, a single rear camera, and a boxy design, the new budget entrant to the Narzo series appears to be a rebrand of the Realme C30 that debuted in India recently. Realme Narzo 50i Prime shares similar design and hardware specifications.

Key Narzo 50i Prime specifications include a 6.5-inch HD+ display, Unisoc T612 chipset, up to 32GB expandable storage, Android 11-based Realme R edition custom edition, and an 8MP rear camera.

With an aim to provide age-appropriate experiences, the Meta-owned instant photo sharing app has announced a new way to tackle the age issue in a better way. According to the latest update, Instagram will now require users to upload a video selfie for age verification to provide age-appropriate experiences.

Instagram has confirmed the development through a blogpost. Users will now be able to ask others to vouch for their age, or use technology that can confirm their age based on a video selfie. If someone attempts to edit their date of birth on Instagram from under the age of 18 to 18 or over.

The facility will start with people based in the US. This has been confirmed by the photo sharing app through a blogpost.

In addition to providing an ID, people will now be able to ask others to vouch for their age, or use technology that can confirm their age based on a video selfie. Instagram has partnered with Yoti, a company that specializes in privacy-preserving ways to verify age.

The feature is getting tested to make sure teens and adults are getting the right experience appropriate for their age group. In 2019, Instagram started asking people to provide their age when signing up for Instagram to provide appropriate experiences to different age groups, specifically teens.

People must be at least 13 years old to sign up for Instagram. In some countries, minimum age is higher to use Instagram.

Testing new ways to verify age

Social Vouching: Mutual followers will be asked to confirm your age if you opt for social vouching option. One person can vouch just one person at one time and the one who is vouching must be at least 18 years old. You need to select three people to vouch for you.

Users will still be able to upload their ID to verify their age with forms of identification such as a driver’s license or ID card.

Noise Colorfit Vision 2 smartwatch launched with always-on display

Noise has unveiled its Colorfit Vision 2 smartwatch in India. This is yet another budget launch from the popular domestic wearable and audio brand. The smartwatch comes with an always-on display and up to 40 sports modes. It also comes equipped with a heart rate sensor giving the maximum battery hours. Furthermore, the watch is currently retailing with a special introductory price tag of Rs 2,999.

The smartwatch is available in three different colours: Black, Blue, and Green. It’s available for sale starting today on online websites like Flipkart. Users can also get their hands on the watch through the brand’s official site. Noise Colorfit Vision 2 is a straight competition to Fire Boltt’s recently launched Ninja Bell. It is also retailing for Rs 2,999. Additionally, both the smartwatches sport Bluetooth calling with 60 fitness and sports modes and is capable of SPO2 monitoring. HP launches the latest laptops in the Omen and Victus lineup

HP has rolled out new editions to its Omen and Victus lineup of laptops in the Indian market. The brand has launched four laptops: the Omen 16 (2022), Omen 17 (2022), Victus 15 (2022), and Victus 16 (2022). Both the series aim for the gaming community paired with Ryzen 6000 series- the 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processors. Additionally, the laptops come with RTX 3000-series GPUs featuring up to 32GB of RAM.

Talking about the latest Omen lineup first, it comes with a 16.1-inch IPS display with Quad-HD resolution paired with a 165Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the laptop is powered by the 12th generation Intel Core i7-12700H or AMD Ryzen RX 6650M processors and has Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU. It also sports up to 32GB DDR5 RAM paired with up to 2TB of PCIe SSD storage. The other one, The OMEN 17 (2022) features a 17.3-inch screen and the same specs as Omen 16 (2022). The Victus 15 (2022) features a 15.6-inch display with Full HD resolution. The laptops come powered with a 12th generation Intel Core i7 processor, installed with Nvidia RTX 3050Ti GPU. It also sports up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. On the other hand, the Victus 16 (2022) comes with a Full HD+ resolution paired with a 144Hz refresh rate. The display on this one features Eyesafe low-blue light emission technology paired with AMD Ryzen 7 6800H processor. The HP Omen 16 (2022) starts at Rs 1,09,999, while the HP Omen 17 (2022) starts at Rs. 1,99,999. The Victus 15 (2022) price begins at Rs. 67,999 and the HP Victus 16 (2022) starts at Rs. 82,999.

ASUS ROG 6 to come with the latest Snapdragon chipset

Asus has confirmed that its latest edition to the ROG series- ROG Phone 6 will make a debut next month. It is also confirmed to come with the most enhanced Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The smartphone is set to release on July 5 with some tidbits here and there. Additionally, a renowned tipster has also confirmed some specifications and price details of the smartphone.

Asus ROG Phone 6 will be a gaming phone succeeding the ROG Phone 5. The device will come with some notable improvements over the predecessor. OnePlus to launch two new TWS in India

OnePlus is reportedly preparing to launch two new TWS in India soon. According to the report, the launch is expected to happen alongside a couple of upcoming OnePlus smartphones in the third quarter of this fiscal.

Further, the report claims that OnePlus will launch an OnePlus Nord-branded TWS and an OnePlus TWS. The news has been revealed by tipster Mukul Sharma. Any specific details, launch date and price details are yet to be confirmed by the Company. We can expect an official announcement in coming time.

Additionally, the brand is also expected to launch OnePlus Watch 2 and Band 2.

The upcoming TWS will join the bandwagon of the already available TWS by OnePlus in the market. Currently, OnePlus Nord Buds, OnePlus Buds Pro and OnePlus Buds Z2 are offered by the OnePlus.

Launched in April, the budget wireless earbuds OnePlus Nord Buds is the first audio product under the “Nord” banner. Priced Rs 2,799, OnePlus Nord Buds price is available in two colour options Black Slate and White Marble. According to the Company, the launch of OnePlus Nord Buds is aimed to offer a Buds Z2 or even Buds Pro-like experience at a more affordable price. TWS market size in India

According to the latest research from Counterpoint’s IoT service, the TWS market in India posted 66% YoY growth in Q1 2022. The growth was driven by local brands such as boAT, noise, Boult Audio, and pTron. Thanks to aggressive celebrity endorsements and domestic manufacturing research that helped boost the demand in this segment.

Other emerging brands in Q1 2022

Mivi, OPPO, OnePlus, Apple and Nothing were among other five brands that emerged in the first quarter of the fiscal 2022.

Due to its focus on domestic manufacturing and introducing feature-rich devices at low price points Mivi, a domestic brand maintained a position in the top ten list. While good performance of its low-priced models Enco Buds and Enco W11 and newly launched Buds Air 2 in the mid-price band helped OPPO grow 365% YoY.

OnePlus with its Buds Z2, in its mid-priced TWS portfolio and Buds Z model boosted its market presence in the country. The Buds Z2 was offered by the OnePlus after the huge success of its previous Buds Z model.

Coming to the premium segment, Apple took the leadership position. The launch of the Airpods 3 was a major boost for it. On the other hand, competitive pricing and innovative design were the prominent factors that helped Nothing to maintain its position within the top five premium brands.

Truke, an online-centric local brand grew 75% YoY in Q1 2022. Consistent launch of new models in each quarter since Q2 2021, celebrity endorsements and entry-level offerings contributed to its significant growth.
