Linking an account to a number can demonstrate that it was created with greater care than the simplest macro. This number can also filter out which tweets appear most prominently or pass through the various levels of quality filters. The same phone number can be linked to up to ten different Twitter accounts, and programmers can tag automated accounts to indicate that not everything being posted is being done by a real person.

For “blue check” verification, accounts with a verified phone number or email address are already required. Then-CEO Jack Dorsey mentioned having users verify information about themselves when talking about plans to allow verification for everyone, which may have been similar to how services like Tinder and Airbnb use phone numbers as part of their account verification procedures.

When users are encouraged to link their phone numbers to their accounts and display the status, security of that information becomes a concern. On August 5th, Twitter provided details about an incident that gave an attacker access to 5.4 million account names associated with particular phone numbers and email addresses. The company claims that the privacy flaw was introduced in a June 2021 update but was not found by Twitter until January and was only discovered by Twitter after rumours about someone trying to sell the database began to spread in the media in July.

During the 2020 hack, attackers employed social engineering to gain access to Twitter’s internal tools, enabling them to tweet about Bitcoin from Jack Dorsey and Joe Biden’s accounts. An ex-employee who allegedly used his position to “access the email addresses, phone numbers and birth dates of users who were critical of the Saudi government” was found guilty of spying earlier this month. According to a different Bloomberg report, some contractors had spied on celebrity accounts using Twitter’s tools.

When Twitter agreed to a $150 million settlement in May for improperly using phone numbers and email addresses obtained for two-factor authentication in its ad targeting, the potential for data leakage was made clear.

This has been going on since the past few years with the latest one coming in the first week of August when the Information & Broadcasting Ministry (I&B) banned around ten YouTube channels, including three based in Pakistan that were propagating things like ‘ban on Bakra-eid celebrations in India’, purported attacks on mosques and Rohingya colonies, and many others.

‘Cover Point’, another YouTube channel claimed that India has lost a nuclear war to Pakistan, which has sealed the victory for Pakistan and ISI, which is the intelligence agency of Pakistan, Inter-Services Intelligence.

In December 2021, around 20 YouTube channels faced suspension for trying to incite Muslims into violence against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) by claiming that Muslims are being imprisoned in detention camps and will be deported out of India upon revoking their citizenship.

Poco F3 GT

The Poco F3 GT is a performance-oriented successor to the original Poco F1. The Poco F3 GT is well-built, with a metal frame and a glass back. This metal frame features “maglev” trigger buttons that are activated by sliders on the side.

You get a large 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It supports HDR10+ and has a touch sampling rate of 480Hz in-game turbo mode. Poco has chosen the Dimensity 1200 SoC to power the F3 GT, along with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. This device has storage options of 128GB and 256GB.

Poco managed to cram in a 5,065mAh battery and a 67W fast charger in the box. The phone can last more than a day and a half on a single charge and perform admirably in our HD video loop test. The included charger charged the huge battery quickly as well.

The Poco F3 GT features three cameras: a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The smartphone performed well in both daylight and lowlight conditions. The macro camera captured good details despite having a lower resolution.

Overall, the Poco F3 GT is a gaming-oriented smartphone with excellent performance for the price. However, it isn’t a great all-arounder and could use some camera improvements.

Poco F4 5G

The Poco F4 5G is a well-designed smartphone with a premium look and feel. It has excellent gaming performance, an above-average battery life, fast charging, and a beautiful display that supports Dolby Vision HDR playback. The IP53 rating is an added bonus. This phone is a better buy than the Xiaomi Mi 11X (Review), which is essentially the same device but charges slower.

Realme X7 Max

Realme released the new X7 Max 5G, which has a significantly more powerful SoC but a lower starting price than the X7 Pro 5G. The Dimensity 1200 SoC is ideal for both gaming and basic productivity. A 4500mAh battery and 50W fast charging are included, with a 65W charger unit included in the retail box. The battery life is excellent, and you should be able to go for several days on a single charge. The 6.43-inch Super AMOLED screen is bright and clear, but it isn’t the best we’ve seen. Stereo speakers improve the experience of playing video games and watching movies. Realme UI’s default apps do display some annoying notifications, but there are also many features.

Oppo Reno 6

The Oppo Reno 6 shares several features with the Pro model, including the camera app’s Bokeh Flare Portrait effect, 65W quick charging, and a high refresh rate AMOLED display. The design is strongly reminiscent of the iPhone 12, but it appears to work in its favor. The 6.42-inch AMOLED display looks great. It has a full-HD+ resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and a claimed peak brightness rating of up to 700nits.

This is the first phone in India to utilize the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, which is powerful enough to tackle daily duties and games at full-HD+ quality, according to Oppo. The 4,300mAh battery capacity may not seem particularly impressive, but in daily use, I was easily averaging more than a full day on a single charge. The Oppo Reno 6 lacks the Reno 6 Pro’s rear depth camera, but otherwise has the same set of sensors on the front and back.

Mi 11X

The Xiaomi Mi 11X offers the very powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC at a surprisingly low price, with camera quality as a tradeoff. While this phone is great for gaming and entertainment, it takes average photos and videos during the day and performs poorly in low light. You get a large, bright, and vibrant 6.67-inch 120Hz full-HD+ display as well as a battery that will easily last you all day. Premium features include Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, an IP53 rating, and stereo speakers. The Mi 11X comes with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, however, storage is limited to 128GB. Games run smoothly, and videos look fantastic on the screen.

Xiaomi always comes out with interesting updates regarding its devices every now and then with the latest being Android 13 based MIUI Beta update, which is now available for Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro handsets but only for 200 users during the first wave of updates.

Xiaomi made the announcement via Twitter and also added that all those testing the beta version should have a backup of all their relevant data before updating their handsets as the update process is going to take a longer time than is expected and affect the performance of the phone due to overheating.

The Xiaomi 12 update has the firmware version V13.0.4.0.TLCMIXM while the Xiaomi 12 Pro update has firmware version V13.0.4.0.TLBMIXM and both are over 4GB in size apart from the regular features.
