Hirect App Review: A well-balanced platform for both companies and job seekers, with impressive interface

Hirect App Review

Many elements of our lives have been altered as a result of the pandemic. Our work, as well as the components associated to it, is now available online. India has the largest workforce on the planet, with an estimated 2 crores young people joining the workforce every year. While traditional recruitment platforms are still in use, they have begun to incorporate newer technology such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to improve their user experience. They believe that their AI-powered solutions would solve the problems with the present hiring process, saving time for both job seekers and recruiters. New-age hiring platforms solve the problem. There is a new hiring platform that was launched during the first phase of COVID-19 lockdown in India and now the company has grown multifold. In this article, we have reviewed the Hirect app which allows job seekers and recruiters to meet each other and work efficiently. Let’s have a look at the app review.

About the app

If you haven’t heard about Hirect, then let us tell you that it’s a chat-based direct hiring app designed for high-growth startups and SMEs to meet their hiring needs without consultants and with 100% data privacy. The Hirect app started with a vision to connect India’s talented startup ecosystem with the great talents. The app has recently clocked 7 million+ downloads and more than 60,000 verified startups are already actively hiring on the platform.

Hirect was launched in September 2020, keeping in mind the startup ecosystem in India. The in-app voice and video calling features are helping the users to conduct the interview without navigating to other platforms.

Features and UI

Hirect is available to download both on Android and iOS devices. The app is really convenient to use and a good solution available in the market for talent acquisition needs. The UI/UX of the application is outstanding and convenient. We used the app for the first time but it was super convenient to use.

While signing up, the user first needs to choose whether he/she is a job seeker or a recruiter, followed by which s/he needs to provide with the phone number to set up the profile. The user needs to fill in other necessary details like skills, job experience, and qualifications to set up the profile. Once you are done with setting up the profile you are good to go with job search.

On the top right corner of the application, there will be a search bar where the user can enter the job role, preferred location, post which the app will start showing all the listed jobs on the platform along with the company details and CTC slots. You can choose from the list and start applying for the jobs. Furthermore, you can also add a filter, as per your preference to narrow down the job search.

Moving to the recruiters’ perspective, the basic steps match those of the job seekers; you need to enter a functional mobile number, verify it, add your basic contact details and the type of job you want to post. This could be a full-time, contractual role, or an internship. This is followed by the domain page, where the recruiter is asked to put in the correct domain for the job posting. The next window asks for the job description, salary range, experience needed, and location. A step that should have been there at the time of recruiter sign-up has been moved to the end.

After filling the job description and associated parameters, the recruiter is now asked to provide certain documents to verify the job posting. This includes a cancelled cheque, a PAN card, and GST details, which are then verified by the Hirect team in under an hour. Once the details are verified, the job posting is made online. Once the applications have rolled in, the recruiter can initiate a chat with the job seekers, which can be followed up with a voice call or a video call within the platform.

Hirect also suggests you new job openings depending on your job search, recruiters can directly start chatting with the potential candidates to initiate further discussion. The in-app AI algorithm makes the hiring process faster and smarter and eliminates fake profiles.

The best part about the app is, it doesn’t have a feed like social media platforms have, this is to make the platform lite and avoid confusion among the job seekers. We have seen a lot of users post random jobs on the feed which are not even verified by the platform which leads to fake jobs and people taking advantage of freshers. Hirect makes sure that all the startups listed on the platform are verified by the company. Hirect doesn’t charge startups for the first 3 job posts; with only marginal costing for successive job posts. Moreover, the company doesn’t charge any fee from startup job seekers.

“The best part about the app is, it doesn’t have a feed like social media platforms have, this is to make the platform lite and avoid confusion among the job seekers. We have seen a lot of users post random jobs on the feed which are not even verified by the platform which leads to fake jobs and people taking advantage of freshers”

Conclusion

Hirect certainly has a different approach with their AI-based chat model at the centre of the whole recruitment scene. We did notice the algorithms working on point filtering and feeding relevant data. During our brief use of the app, we found it to be a well-balanced platform for both companies and job seekers. In all key verticals with clearly defined JDs, there were lots of active and low-to-high-paying positions. We would advise prospective job seekers and employers to explore Hirect as well, in order to maximize their chances of finding good possibilities.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has recently shared a short demo video showcasing some of the capabilities of upcoming high-end virtual reality headset, Project Cambria.

In the video posted on Facebook and Instagram, Zuckerberg can be seen highlighting the upcoming headset’s ability to do high-resolution and full-color passthrough. Cambria is expected to be out later this year.

Cambria is among various other virtual reality headsets that Meta plans to introduce over the next several years. Mark Zuckerberg has given a first look at Meta’s Project Cambria virtual reality headset without actually showing it.

With the help of the headset, wearers can interact with virtual objects overlaid onto their real-life environments.

This is for the first time, Meta has shown the headset after it was revealed that Cambria would be a work-focused device, unlike the company’s Meta Quest (previously Oculus Quest) VR headset.

The minute-long video shows the device being used by Zuckerberg to play with a virtual pet similar to Pokémon GO’s augmented reality, browsing on a virtual computer, and working out with a virtual fitness trainer.

Meta CEO also confirmed the release of a software development tool called Presence Platform. This will allow developers to work on augmented reality experiences for use in Cambria.

The device will reportedly be one of four VR headsets released by Meta in the next two years, with two, including Cambria, being work focused and the others for games. However, any detail on later is yet to be revealed by the Meta.

Meta has been working on various tech developments. Earlier, the Company reportedly decided to create its own currency, called ‘Zuck Bucks’. The reported currency got named after Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

According to reports, Meta is considering implementing a centralised in-app currency system that will be shared throughout its different platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Parent company of Facebook and Meta has been working on various technological developments. Recently, Zuckerberg announced that they would start testing digital collectibles or non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on its photo sharing app Instagram. Initially, the testing will be limited to select users in the US only.

According to the updates, select users will be able to see NFTs on their Instagram Feeds, Stories and in message. While there will also be a new NFT tab added to participating accounts, with a tick in a hexagon to indicate verified NFTs.

Sony unveils new design for WH-1000XM5 headphones

Sony unveils new design for WH-1000XM5 headphones

Sony has been making excellent headphones for years, beginning with the all-around incredible Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones that were released in 2018. Sony introduced its sequel, the WH-1000XM4, in 2020, and after a brief period of leaks and speculations, the corporation has officially announced the Sony WH-1000XM5. They come with a fresh look, better ANC, and new features like Microsoft Swift Pair and Quick Access. Sony claims that the “best noise-cancelling just got better” with these headphones, claiming that there are now two processors in the headphones that handle data from eight different microphones. These eight microphones are employed to improve noise cancellation in the mid-to-high frequencies, which are notoriously difficult for noise-cancelling headphones and earbuds to achieve. Sony’s HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1 is still in use here, however, it’s combined with the Sony WF-1000XM4 headphones’ Integrated Processor V1.

Android 13 rolled out its Beta 2 update

Google has published a new beta version for its latest mobile OS Android 13 on the sidelines of the Pixel 6a, Pixel Buds Bro, and other hardware announcements at Google I/O 2022. This is the second beta for the future operating system, which is anticipated to be unveiled later this year. Furthermore, the Android 13 Beta 2 upgrade is available for compatible OnePlus, Realme, Vivo, Xiaomi, and other devices, in addition to Pixel devices. Anyone may join the beta program as long as they have a device that meets the requirements, which can be found here. You will be offered the opportunity to enrol in Android 13 Beta 2 if you have a compatible Android device. It’s a one-click process, and your device should receive the beta update within a few hours (or less). OEMs, on the other hand, do not follow Google’s timetable. They run their own registration scheme, so don’t blame Google if your qualified Android 13 Beta 2 device doesn’t receive the update.

Apple is soon to bring its first iPhone with USB-C

Apple is soon to bring its first iPhone with USB-C

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said on Wednesday that in the second half of 2023, Apple will produce an iPhone — potentially the iPhone 15 — with a USB-C port instead of its proprietary Lightning connection. Kuo’s forecast was based on a supply chain survey. Switching to USB-C, according to Kuo, might improve hardware design transmission and charging rates. Regulators and customers have pressed Apple to make iPhones compatible with USB-C cables, which many people already own. USB-C has already been the norm on everything from rival smartphones to the Nintendo Switch. The more widespread option is now used by MacBooks and iPads as well. Apple’s final holdout is the iPhone.

India TWS shipment goes up by 66% YoY in Q1 2022, here is why

0
TWS

Driven by the strong value proposition offered by local brands, aggressive celebrity endorsements and domestic manufacturing together helped India’s TWS (True Wireless earbuds) market post a very promising growth in the first quarter of 2022.

According to the latest research from Counterpoint’s IoT service, India’s TWS (True Wireless earbuds) market posted 66% YoY growth in the first quarter of this financial year.

With 98% YoY growth in Q1 2022 driven by new launches, multiple celebrity endorsements and discount offers, boAt led the market for the seventh consecutive quarter. Noise and Boult Audio bagged second and third positions, respectively. boAt TWS Airdopes 131 was the most popular TWS earbuds and took a 32% share in the brand’s portfolio.

The fourth slot was bagged by PTron while Chinese brand Realme got fifth position.

Driven by multiple sales events and the introduction of a new model in the low-priced VS series helped Noise to maintain its second spot for the second quarter in a row with 214% YoY growth. The Noise Airbuds mini was the best TWS model for the brand, capturing 38% of its portfolio.

With 266% YoY growth, Boult Audio reached its highest ever share of 7%. Focus on low-price segment and gradual increase in number of its TWS offering clubbed with active participation in the Amazon Great Republic sale event in this quarter helped Boult Audio to maintain its position.

PTron rose to the fourth spot with a 5% share driven by its strong presence in the entry-level price band (less than INR 1,000 or $13). PTron’s growth was pushed due to value-for-money products, domestic manufacturing and multiple alternatives.

The Buds Q2 Neo drove the majority of Realme’s shipments followed by the Buds Air 2 in the first quarter. Realme stood fifth in the top five TWS brands’ rankings. Launch of the Buds Air 3, a new affordable model in Q1 2022, with prominent features like ANC and transparency mode helped it to perform better in the TWS shipment.

Thanks to the quick response in terms of upgrading their product portfolio, India-based brands emerged as top four performers. They which captured more than half of the total TWS market.

Due to its focus on domestic manufacturing and introducing feature-rich devices at low price points helped Mivi, a domestic brand, to position itself in the top 10 list.

Due to the good performance of OPPO’s low-priced models Enco Buds and Enco W11 and newly launched Buds Air 2 in the mid-price band helped it grew 365% YoY.

The first quarter of 2021 also witnessed launch of the Buds Z2 by OnePlus, in its mid-priced TWS portfolio after the huge success of its previous Buds Z model.

Apple topped in premium segment

Driven by its recent launch of the Airpods 3, Apple took the leadership position in the premium segment. While, Nothing maintained a position within the top five premium brands due to its competitive pricing and innovative design.

Consistently launching new models in each quarter since Q2 2021, celebrity endorsements and entry-level offerings contributed to significant growth of online-centric local brand Truke grew 75% YoY in Q1 2022.

The counterpoint research report also indicates that the premium segment registered 53% YoY growth in the first quarter led by Apple, Samsung and Sony. According to analyst loyal customers, advanced product portfolios and growing smartphone ecosystems were vital in writing the growth story of the premium brands.

Sony emerged as the fastest growing brand in the premium segment, having refreshed its portfolio with two new devices. In terms of models, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, Sony WF-C500, Nothing Ear 1, Apple Airpods Pro and Airpods 3rd Generation were the best TWS devices in the premium segment, confirms the analyst.

According to Anshika Jain, Senior Research Analyst, Counterpoint, Indian brands put more emphasis on targeting the low-price tier (less than Rs 2,000 or $26) and forming partnerships to market their devices.

Additionally, a growing emphasis on domestic manufacturing led to an overall YoY decline of 19% in ASP in Q1 2022. Local production stood at 14% this quarter with 113% QoQ growth. Experts expect brands to go aggressive in the second half of this year to introduce made-in-India devices. “boAt is expected to locally manufacture more than half of its total portfolio in the coming period. Other top players like Noise and realme are also expected to release locally-made devices within the first half of 2022,” she added.

Technologies that will change businesses forever

0
Future technology feature image

In recent times, we have observed most leading companies invest in Artificial Intelligence; it’s faster, more accurate and seamless. We are already living in the era of Big Data. As we get better at collecting more data, machine learning algorithms are becoming better at processing the data. Soon, advanced data processing could be the personalisation of marketing messages. AI-driven data collection that runs in the background on websites, social media and other platforms, this is live data.

Through the use of Artificial Intelligence, we are able to drive engagement and create content that matches popular searches by our intended audience.

Voice Search

We all are experiencing the growth and emergence of Voice Search with Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant. Today, more and more people are conducting voice search instead of typing. By the end of this year, 50% of all searches on the internet are expected to be voice searches. Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri understand speech with an accuracy consistent with a real human being. Most leading brands and businesses have started aligning their Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and content strategies with Voice Search, as it tracks data on customer needs and popular demands.

AI and Chatbots

The emergence and growing trend of Artificial Intelligence brought about it the development of Chatbots. This feature has become a staple on many websites and social media platforms. Chatbots are helpful in most industries for basic customer service, driving sales, and collecting data. The users today are getting used to interacting with chatbots which allows businesses to cater to all the inquiries from their customer across different time zones. The Chatbot allows for a very comprehensive form of support because it is active 24/7 and can cater to maybe even multiple languages. In the coming future, user will expect Chatbots as a standard feature on brand websites or on the hotline contact number with Voice-Conversion technology. Its food for thought that chatbots could become as or more efficient than a real human in the near future. Some people are skeptical of this technology because they feel the chatbots could develop their own language. Even though, businesses who do not invest in Artificial Intelligence will probably be left behind by their competition.

Data Privacy

With AI and the large-scale collection of data, comes the issue of data piracy. As this issue has been projected into the spotlight, pressure has been placed onto major governments around the world to take action and restrict the unfiltered sharing of their data. Recently, governments have struggled to limit major companies like Apple, Google, Amazon, and Facebook because this is an unprecedented issue that is not addressed by the current laws. Although governments have not been able to make changes, customers have put pressure on big companies by demonstrating their discontent. The effects of this can be seen with Apple’s latest software update which allows users to choose whether they want their data to be shared. This new feature is putting companies such as Facebook’s billion-dollar business at risk.

Regardless, the only constant in marketing is change – innovation in technology is bringing new challenges and also new opportunities. The most successful people will be those who can adapt to the new environment while still delivering a relevant message to the right person at the right time.
