The Moto Edge 50 Pro represents a significant shift in design philosophy from its predecessors, reminding me strongly of the Edge 40 Neo but with a more luxurious feel.

The vegan leather back not only adds to the grip but also makes the device stand out aesthetically.

The Lavender Luxe variant, in particular, is a showstopper, ensuring that the phone doesn’t just blend into the crowd.

The phone’s design is unified with aluminium frames painted to match the back panel, creating a seamless look.

Despite housing a triple-camera setup and additional sensors, the Edge 50 Pro maintains a remarkably slim and light profile, weighing in at 186 grams and measuring 8.19mm in thickness.

The IP68 rating for water and dust resistance is the cherry on top and assured me of the phone’s durability.

Motorola’s partnership with Pantone extends to the Edge 50 Pro’s display, featuring a 6.7-inch 3D curved pOLED screen renowned for its color accuracy.

The colors are vivid and punchy, and with the panel supporting DCI-P3 color gamut and HDR10+, every visual was a delight.

The 144Hz refresh rate and 10-bit color depth, along with a peak brightness of 2000 nits, ensured that my gaming sessions and outdoor usage were uncompromised.

The upgraded triple camera setup on the Moto Edge 50 Pro is a significant leap forward.

It boasts a 50MP primary sensor, a 10MP telephoto lens capable of 3x optical zoom, and a 13MP ultrawide lens that doubles as a macro camera.

Initial tests showed that the camera system is versatile and capable, although I did notice some inconsistencies in color reproduction that I plan to investigate further in my detailed review.

Performance and Features: First Impressions

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, the Edge 50 Pro matches the performance levels of competitors like the OnePlus Nord CE 4.

Apart from that you do get up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Also for the audio, the slim profile is able to pack in a stereo speaker setup powered by Dolby Atmos.

Software and Battery: Initial Experience

Switching to HelloUI from MyUX on Android 14 has been a refreshing change.

The interface is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and, most importantly, intuitive to navigate.

Except for the pre-installed Facebook app, bloatware is noticeably absent, allowing for a smooth user experience that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed so far.

The 4,500mAh battery supports up to 125W charging, with my unit coming equipped with the powerful charger.

The addition of up to 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging pleasantly surprised me, showcasing Motorola’s commitment to integrating advanced tech features
