The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series is expected to break cover this year as a successor to the powerful Galaxy Tab S8 lineup, currently ranked among the best Android tablets on the market.
We’ve already come across a fair bit of info about the upcoming flagship tablet trio, including high-quality renders of the Galaxy Tab S9+ and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra within a month of each other, providing us some context on the design differences (if any) between the 2022 and 2023 models.
The Galaxy Tab S9+ and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra have now popped by the FCC for routine certification purposes, pointing towards an imminent release.

It’s worth noting that the full FCC certification page isn’t live yet, possibly for confidentiality reasons.
But SnoopyTech managed to uncover a SAR evaluation report of the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra (SM-X910).
Separately, the leaker also found that the Galaxy Tab S9+ (SM-X810) has a fairly similar Settings page to its predecessor (pictured below).

The phone’s other rear cameras include a 50MP 3.2x portrait lens, a 50MP 5x periscope camera, and a 50MP ultrawide camera (122-degree field-of-view). So this should deliver improved long-range zoom over the Pro model.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra also brings a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a 6.73-inch QHD+ 120Hz OLED screen with 2,600 nits peak brightness, and a 5,000mAh battery. Once the battery hits zero, you can take advantage of 90W wired or 50W wireless charging, with a 100% charge taking 35 minutes.

Xiaomi’s European websites confirm that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be available in green or black and will set you back €1,499 ($1,616). That makes it more expensive than the Xiaomi 13 Pro and €100 ($108) more than the base Galaxy S23 Ultra in the region. In saying so, Xiaomi’s phone is only available in a 12GB/512GB option while the equivalent S23 Ultra model had a €1,579 (~$1,702) launch price.

You can’t go wrong with either option if you want a premium flagship, though. But those on the hunt for the best camera phones should certainly add the Xiaomi 13 Ultra to their list.

Xiaomi India, the subsidiary of Chinese electronics company Xiaomi, announced on Monday that it has started local production of audio products in partnership with Noida-based Optiemus Electronics Ltd.

The company said that this is the beginning of a “larger initiative” in the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) domain.

Xiaomi also said that it is targeting a 50% increase in smartphone domestic value addition over the next two years and strengthen its position as a “key player” in the Indian electronics industry.

The company has in the past claimed that 99% of its smartphones and 100% of its smart TVs sold in India are locally made.

“This partnership with Optiemus Electronics Ltd marks a major milestone in our efforts to accelerate our localization of products and components to bring out high-quality devices that will be ‘Made in India,’ at honest pricing,” said Muralikrishnan B, President, Xiaomi India. He added that the company will make more such collaborations for a wider range of products.

India has been a key market for Xiaomi, but the company has seen a steep decline in smartphone shipments in the last two quarters due to the economic downturn and the slump in consumer demand.

According to IDC India, Xiaomi slipped from the top to fourth position in Q1 2023 with a 41% year-on-year (YoY) decline in shipments. Globally, its quarterly revenue declined 19% for the quarter ending March.

Xiaomi is reportedly looking to expand its presence in offline stores as it looks to stem further decline in smartphone shipments.

Optiemus is one of the leading manufacturers of wearable devices, including smartwatches and wireless audio products, for brands such as Noise, Boult Audio, and Harman. In February, Optiemus told Mint that it is looking to double its manufacturing capacity for true-wireless (TWS) headphones, from half a million units per month to a million per month this year to meet the growing demand.

It also makes mobile phones, telecom equipment, and in March announced plans to manufacture 4G laptops at its Noida factory.

The wearable market is largely dominated by Indian brands such as Boat Lifestyle, Fire-Boltt, Noise, and Boult Audio.
