Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will be one of the two Samsung smartwatches launching later this year at Unpacked 2023. Samsung is yet to confirm the launch details of the smartwatch.

However, months before the launch, we can confirm that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will feature a rotating bezel around the circular display.

Samsung ditched the physical rotating bezel in favour of a gesture-based virtual rotating bezel feature in the Watch 5 series.

The company also dropped the Classic moniker and launched the Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro.
It looks like the South Korean giant will bring back the physical rotating bezel.
OnLeaks tells us that the Watch 6 Classic is the successor of the current Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

With its frame that rises between the buttons and the comeback of the rotating bezel, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is a reminiscence of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.
We can see that the design of the Watch 6 Classic is quite similar to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

The circular display is surrounded by slightly thick bezels.
While the left edge of the watch is flush, the right has the Home and Back buttons.
The images also show a magnetic loop strap attached to the Watch.
Samsung will likely make the Watch 6 Classic available with multiple strap options.

Some other details about the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic have leaked in the past.
It reportedly will have a bigger display than the Watch 5 Pro, which features a 1.4-inch Super AMOLED display.

There will be a bunch of health and fitness-related features.

Also, the Galaxy Watch 6 series will pack features that complement the Samsung ecosystem experience.

FAQ’s on Samsung Galaxy Watch 6

1) Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic: what we know so far.Details?

Ans) To be sure, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic does not look drastically different from its previous generations based on the renders, thus suggesting that Samsung is keeping its physical makeover at a minimum level. The approach appears to be similar to Apple, which has also struck out a signature wearable design with the Apple Watch. However, the renders do suggest the return of the much-liked physical rotating bezel that Samsung’s smartwatches have had for long.

Samsung had interestingly removed the physical rotating bezel from its smartwatches in last year’s Galaxy Watch 5 series, instead using a virtual touch bezel for watch face navigations. However, based on the leaked renders, it appears that the smartwatch series is likely to bring back the fan favourite feature.

Other key features and details of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic are yet to be revealed in full detailed. A GSMArena report claimed to reveal a select range of specifications of the upcoming smartwatch, which includes a 46mm watch case size of the Classic variant, and 44mm on the standard variant. It could also get a marginally larger display size, at 1.47 inches, and with 470 x 470 pixels screen resolution. The Classic is also expected to get a 425mAh battery — which is 3.6 percent, or very marginally, larger than the battery of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.
Samsung could also reveal more details of software enhancements, including how it is jointly developing Wear OS with Google.

2) Galaxy Watch 6 Classic leaks with the return of the rotating bezel.Details?

Ans) After dropping the feature with the Galaxy Watch 5 series, Samsung has been rumored to revive the rotating bezel on its upcoming Galaxy Watch 6, and now a set of leaked renders of the “Classic” model show it off.

@OnLeaks and MySmartPrice this week published a set of “design” renders that show off the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and a look that’s, well, quite familiar.

As expected, the rotating bezel is back in place on the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, just as it was on the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. It seems slightly thinner compared to past generations, but not the extent that was previously rumored. Inside of that bezel is still a circular display, which is rumored to measure 1.47 inches on the larger model.

The only other tweak to the design here seems to be inspired by the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, with the Watch 6 Classic having a flat edge along the side that’s more distinct compared to past models with a rotating bezel. That signals that Samsung might end up doing away with the “Pro” model, but it’s hard to say for certain – after all, we thought the rotating bezel was gone for good before this.

The renders also depict a design that has a brushed finish and the magnetic clasp band from the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 6 series in July alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, and the new Galaxy Tab S9 series. The watch will likely still be using Wear OS 3 with Samsung’s skin, but it seems reasonable that an upgrade to Wear OS 4 wouldn’t be too far off.

3) Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic leak shows the return of a beloved feature.Details?

Ans) Samsung makes some of the best Android smartwatches. With the 2022 Galaxy Watch 5 series, the company made incremental internal improvements and focused mainly on enhancing the design and offering longer battery life. It also expanded the lineup with the rugged Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, though a follow-up model to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic with its iconic rotating bezel was nowhere to be seen. Rumors have indicated the Korean giant could bring back the rotating circular dial with the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic in 2023, which has now leaked in renders.

The leak comes from the ever-reliable @OnLeaks and MySmartPrice, so there’s little reason to doubt its authenticity. In the renders, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic looks quite similar to the Watch 4 Classic with a brushed metal body. Thick bezels surround its circular display, with the Home and Back buttons located on the chassis’ right side. You can also see a D-Buckle Sport Band on the smartwatch, similar to the one Samsung offers with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

It is difficult to ascertain from the images if the Watch 5 Classic will feature slightly thinner bezels than the previous model.

A physical rotating dial makes it easy to navigate around on your smartwatch. It is an intuitive way to scroll through lists quickly. You can also use the rotating bezel on the Samsung Galaxy Watch to cycle through your Wear OS tiles and notifications.

Rumors indicate the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic could feature a bigger 1.47-inch circular display with a slight bump in resolution. It might use the Exynos W980 chipset, which as per leaks, should be about 10% faster than the Galaxy Watch 5’s W920 SoC. With the Classic model returning to Samsung’s smartwatch lineup, the company might not launch a Watch 5 Pro successor this year.

The Galaxy Watch 6 series should launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 lineup at an Unpacked event in Q3 2023. Samsung typically holds an Unpacked event in August, though rumors suggest the company could move the timeframe up by a couple of weeks to July this year.
