The show is coming for its penultimate season – Season 5 – after finishing four extraordinary seasons that managed to make heads turn across the world with its exceptional commercial and critical success. Out of all of Netflix’s November 2022 releases, The Crown is the frontrunner in every way possible but mostly because the season would focus on the dark chapters of the relationship between the royal family and Princess Diana. Netflix schedule says Enola Holmes 2 would see a November 4 release worldwide.

The popular apocalyptic sci-fi drama Manifest has found a home on Netflix for the release of its fourth and final season. The season will have two parts with each part having 10 episodes. The Stone family seems to be not getting any far from its hardships or bad luck. So is the story of the passengers of Flight 828.  Fans of the show can expect Manifest season 4 part 1 to drop on November 4 exclusively on Netflix.

For desi drama lovers, Netflix in November is coming up with Khakee: The Bihar Chapter created by Neeraj Pandey of A Wednesday fame. The crime stars Avinash Tiwary and Karan Tacker in primary roles and is expected to be out on November 25. Another movie that most binge-watchers would be turning to is the Rajkummar Rao, Radhika Apte, and Huma Qureshi starer Netflix original film Monica, O My Darling.  The mystery thriller will be out on November 11.

For those looking at the international releases, the Spanish high school series Elite will also be available with its sixth season on Netflix on November 18. Second, we have the creators of Dark, Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar coming up with their next thrilling project – 1899. Apple Watch Ultra – Review

0
Apple Watch Ultra - Review

Apple’s new Watch Ultra is designed and developed to be tougher and make life easier for athletes and adventurers who don’t follow an urbanite lifestyle. That being said, its appeal definitely is not limited to any segment of the market as even those who sit in front of the computer the whole day would find something endearing in this watch.

The Apple Watch Ultra is bigger, brighter and better. Specifically designed for adventurers such as mountaineers, deep sea divers and heavy sportspersons, Watch Ultra is made tough. The screen brightness is a big plus as it doesn’t let even the harshest sunlight obstruct you from reading the Watch Ultra screen. Since built for sturdiness, those who fear banging their wrist here and there every day will finally have some mental peace as this watch is far from delicate. A major positive is the Apple Watch Ultra battery life, which as per the company will allow you to last the entire weekend without taking out the charger.

Apple Watch Ultra price in India is Rs 89,900 and it is available in one size 49 mm. It is available in Apple online stores and all major e-commerce websites in the country.

Let’s take a quick look at Apple Watch Ultra specifications

  • Brand – Apple
  • Operating System – watchOS
  • SIM Support – eSIM
  • Case Material – Titanium
  • Water Rating – IP6X
  • Sizes – 49 mm
  • Colours – Silver
  • Display – 9-inch AMOLED, Sapphire crystal glass face
  • CPU – Apple S8
  • Battery – 542mAh
  • Health sensors – Compass, altimeter, optical heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, temperature
  • Dimensions – 49 x 44 x 14.4 mm
  • Weight – 61g

Apple Watch Ultra - Review

Apple Watch Ultra features that stand out are mostly design and hardware related. The new big button, the larger 49 mm titanium case that comes with a flat screen protected by a raised lip, the battery that lasts 2 to 3 days, the dual frequency GPS, and three microphones, all these features make the Watch Ultra a great pick amongst other options available in this segment in the market.

The Apple Watch Ultra has a huge bulky body with a 49 mm casing. The dimensions make it looks slightly big than other watches and seem oversize even on average wrist size. The main frame is unibody titanium and gives a completely premium and sturdy feel. The sides elevate upwards as it is designed to wrap around the smartwatch screen. The basic design idea is similar to previous Apple Watches. However, the Apple watch ultra band makes the screen completely flat and not the regular Apple design of slightly curved downwards.

Many Apple watch ultra reviews have expressed concern that the watch is too big for regular wrists. So, is the Apple Watch Ultra too big? There is no simple answer such as yes or no here. The watch in reality is actually lighter than one would assume. At 61g weight, it does seem light but the 14.4 mm thickness can be an issue for some users. The thickness makes putting on/taking long-sleeved clothes such as jackets or shirts slightly cumbersome. The standard Apple Watch rotatable crown along with the side button which can be found in previous editions is present here as well on the right side. However,  it is protected by protruding housing.

The LTPO OLED display is amazing to look at and displays vibrant colours. The brightness reaches its peak at 2,000 nits. As compared to the Apple Watch Series 8 screen, this is twice as bright. Another great thing is the 401 x 502 resolution which is pixel-dense. It makes sure that the texts that appear in a larger size on the Watch Ultra display remain sharp enough. The larger text helps in making the reading of small texts such as navigation instructions or the incoming Slack messages a lot easier.

The Apple Watch Ultra in its ceramic back size has instilled many types of useful usual sensors. These include an electrical heart sensor, blood-oxygen sensor, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope. Another new feature in Watch Ultra and the Series 8 is the high-g accelerometer which is largely used for detecting car crashes and also skin temperature sensors. The iPhone markers with the Watch Ultra also have added an additional in their smartwatches and it’s the water temperature sensor. This particular feature is not found in any other Apple Watch.

As the brand claims to be making this product for adventures and deep sea divers, the other functions of these sensors include helping deep sea divers keep track of water temperature, depth, and distance underwater. The watch comes with a WR100 rating, which basically implies that the Watch Ultra can go underwater up to a distance of 328 feet (100 meters). For those who do not follow an active or adventurous lifestyle to take complete advantage of these latest features, the watch also offers other feature regular features. It tracks steps, elevation, cycling time and distance, heart rate, and sleep.

The Apple Watch Ultra is powered by WatchOS 9. This particular operating system brings many amusing health and safety features. It includes medication tracking, car crash detection, and a new Compass app for users who like a more technology driven life. The Watch Ultra also has a Backtrack feature. The functionality of this feature is it creates a virtual tracking database to map the exact steps and coordinates of the user. This helps in situations where the watch wearer is lost and backtracking their step retrace them.

As for using the watch as a phone clone, the Apple Watch Ultra works as a great shortcut communication device that doesn’t need a phone. The watch offers low power mode which further adds endurance to the battery.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC May Launch on November 8, Said to Perform Better than Apple A16 Bionic SoC

0
MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC

MediaTek supposedly is soon coming up with a new flagship MediaTek Dimensity chipset that multiple internet reports suggest that the company will be pairing with an Immortalis-G715 GPU. The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC GFXBench graphics benchmark test results are reportedly making rounds all over the internet signalling a sooner launch. As per a popular social media tipster, “the Dimensity 9200 SoC’s GPU performance outshines the Apple A16 Bionic chip featured in the latest iPhone 14 series.” Amongst various other media reports, one suggests MediaTek’s upcoming chipset surely surpasses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC in the AnTuTu benchmark test.

MediaTek too has confirmed the reports of the launch of its next flagship chipset. The company confirmed the chipset name to be the Dimensity 9200 SoC. As per company close sources, the new chipset will be revealed on November 8 at 2:30pm CST or 12pm IST. However, The company is yet to make public any other details about the event for the launch of the chipset.

While revealing the details of the chipset tests, a popular tech blogger wrote, “In related news, tipster Ice Universe (Twitter: @UniverseIce) has shared the alleged GFXBench test results of the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC. Supposedly being paired with an Immortalis-G715 GPU, this upcoming flagship chipset is said to have achieved 228fps in the ES 3.1 test. Meanwhile, it purportedly reached 328fps in the ES 3.0 test.”

As per the online claims by this popular tipster, Dimensity 9200 SoC’s GFXBench test performance is at par with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. However, it is the GPU department where the chipset outperforms the Apple A16 Bionic chip.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC

The same blogger also mentioned a recent report that reveals other details about the Dimensity 9200 SoC. It says, “the Dimensity 9200 SoC could feature a combination of Cortex-X3 and Cortex-A715 cores, paired with an Immortalis-G715 GPU. This MediaTek chipset reportedly offers better imaging performance. Moreover, it is also claimed that the chipset outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC in the AnTuTu benchmark test.”

If multiple rumours can be paid any heed then it is widely speculated that the Vivo X90 series can become one of the first few smartphones to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC, this next-generation chipset from MediaTek.

However, despite the AnTuTu test showing certain results, industry experts have its apprehensions when it comes to MediaTek chipsets outperforming Qualcomm. This is primarily because of how things have been in the past when test results show one thing on paper but in practical use, the results differ.

Previously a couple of years ago, the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor could not top the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. Based on this past experience, many tech bloggers have expressed their scepticism regarding the practical usage of MediaTek’s chipset over Snapdragon. More details on this, however, can only be expected once the product is launched. Most tech experts have not really written off either of the chipsets yet and users can anticipate more updates as soon as the chipsets reach the consumer’s hands.

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” Breaks Records With $800 Million Opening Weekend

0
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 had the best opening weekend in series history this past weekend, continuing Activision’s decade-long supremacy in the video game industry. The long-awaited video game finally came out on Friday, October 28, and has already made more than $800 million in sales throughout the globe in only three days. The sales of Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 video game have broken all previous records and the company disclosed that the game made around $800 million in sales during its first weekend of release.

In comparison, the company’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 game sold a total of $775 million in its first five days of release in 2011. In addition to surpassing the success of its previous release, the game publisher is also evaluating the success of the game in relation to the success of other types of entertainment. Activision stated that the highest-grossing films of 2022, such as “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” had sold $250 million and $450 million, respectively putting its computer game on a higher tier than the most successful films of the year. This should be a breeze for Modern Warfare 2 at the end of the first week. The only game that has ever surpassed the sales is Grand Theft Auto 5, which made $1 billion in only three days.

The Chief Executive Officer of Activision Blizzard, Bobby Kotick, stated in a press statement, “Thank you to our talented team that has created magic through extraordinary artistry and technology, and to the global community of players who find joy and connection through Call of Duty. This milestone belongs to them.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

“Thank you, Call of Duty players, for making Modern Warfare II’s launch one for the record books as well as the highest grossing entertainment opening of the year,” Johanna Faries, the general manager of Call of Duty, said in a release. “It is our honor and privilege to deliver such a historic launch weekend for the best fans in the world. As amazing as this opening has been, Call of Duty has much more in store. An unprecedented level of support for the Modern Warfare universe is on the horizon and Warzone 2.0’s launch is right around the corner. It’s an incredible time for the franchise.”

Following the success of Activision’s previous release, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Warzone included a variety of tie-ins with popular media properties including Attack on Titan, the Terminator films, Umbrella Academy and Godzilla. During a phone interview with Boardroom, the head of marketing for Call of Duty, Tyler Bahl, stated that “we are always looking at the cultural timeline and we do a lot of research. It all comes down to what is going to make the most amazing gaming experience.”

Since the game has just been available for purchase for the past three days, there have been no hints or teasers regarding upcoming partnerships with Call of Duty games. After the lackluster performance of last year’s entry, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Activision Blizzard may breathe a sigh of relief at this year’s victory. The poor sales of the title were blamed for the company’s overall slump at the beginning of the year.

Galaxy Watch 5 Series – Review

0
Galaxy Watch 5 Series

The Android based smartwatch market is quite large with many brands entering the segment every other day. We have big ticket brands offering high end options along with brands like Oppo and OnePlus who have completely shattered the market segment with their range of entry level devices. Amongst all, however, one brand stands tall with its premium high end devices at competitive prices. It is Samsung. The Korean consumer electronics manufacturer has been coming up with a fascinating range of wearables to attract consumers from every market segment.

Samsung’s recent launch in the segment is Galaxy Watch 5 Series which has successfully captured the market in a frenzy upon release. The grand welcome of the Watch 5 series is on the expected lines after the success of the Galaxy Watch 4 series.

If you kept any tabs on last year’s Galaxy Watch 4 series, you would know the series of watches received a massive response from users all across the world. The credit for Galaxy Watch 4 series becoming a user favourite was mostly given to the fact that Samsung decided to ditch its Tizen OS for Google’s Wear OS. Hence, it was widely speculated that the brand will not bring any drastic change or any major upgrades in the Galaxy Watch 5 series considering they got just about every right with the previous edition. Well, that’s exactly what has happened. The Galaxy Watch 5 Series can be viewed as a prime example of what tiny upgrades look like. However, it would be not entirely correct to say that Samsung hasn’t tried its best to iron out issues that the previous models of wearable had.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 is available in two sizes, 40 mm and 44 mm while. The company also launched Galaxy Watch 5 Pro alongside the Watch 5 which is available in a single 45 mm size.

A short review of the watch would be that it is demure, stylish, and smart. The third-party app support along with impressive fitness features makes this watch a perfect pick. However, the Galaxy Watch 5 does carry flaws. The main drawback here is the short battery life which offers only one-day support. So, in case you do not like the idea of nightly charging, we suggest you look at the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro model – or something that is less smart.

Built for Android smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 price in India is Rs. 27,999 in the current market. It promises flagship-grade performance and features. With Samsung’s One UI Watch 4.5 operating system based on Google’s Wear OS 3.5, is this one of the best smartwatches for any Android smartphone user that is available in the market right now? Before we get into other details and the major improvements, let’s understand each aspect of Galaxy Watch 5 specifications in detail.

What’s Good in Galaxy Watch 5?

Galaxy Watch 5 Series

We all have been waiting for Samsung and Google’s partnership for a long time now. Although series 4 had it, the Watch 5 series is where it really shines. The lack of sophisticated software was a major flaw of Galaxy Smartwatches launched in the past and the brand has managed to leave that criticism behind with the device. All the downvotes for not having easy access to Google apps change with this product. Getting the Play Store and not the Galaxy Store undoubtedly makes a world of a difference.

The Galaxy Watch 5 can look to some people exactly like the model that Samsung releases before. However, this one weighs and feels totally different. The 44 mm model of Galaxy 5 weighs 33.5g and the smaller 40 mm model weighs just 28.7g. Moreover, it has the same Exynos W920 processor, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Another noticeable change is the flattened bottom of the Watch 5 dial, which is designed in that way to make it extra comfortable for those who wear the watch for longer periods. A flattened bottom also improves contact between the wrist and the health sensors better, which automatically gives more reliable readings.

As for the design, it has a solid build with supporting sleek looks that makes the smartwatch the perfect fit for all occasion including a run and an informal evening outing. The size too is universally perfect and neither too bulky nor too small.

Another upgrade that is worth mentioning is Samsung finally taking the leap to fast charging for its smartwatches. The brand claims that the device can be charged from zero to 45 per cent in just 30 minutes. A complete charge, on the other hand, would take around 85 minutes.

What’s Lacking in Galaxy Watch 5 Series?

Galaxy Watch 5 Series

Not much can be pointed out, however, one thing that is really disturbing is some of the high end features of Galaxy Watch 5 are only available for Galaxy smartphone users. The features to monitor blood pressure or ECG would be of no use to someone who doesn’t use a Galaxy smartwatch. It is quite a huge loophole, if you’re a non-Galaxy Android smartphone user, to be honest.

The second most concerning thing could be something that already has an improvement. The Galaxy Watch 5 battery is not up to the mark and anyone planning on using the device for long hours would face trouble. The battery in all probability can be called only decent, which should not be the case with smart wearables.

A rather lesser important issue is that the Galaxy Watch 5 is incompatible with an Apple iOS smartphone. So, iPhone users would not feel welcome.

Amazon Prime Music Increases Song Catalogue from 2 Million to 100 Million, Adds New Podcasts

0
Amazon Prime Music

It appears Amazon Prime Music is on an expansion spree. The latest announcement from the music streaming service platform at least indicates this for the US audience, if not for any other region. Amazon is increasing its song catalogue for Prime subscribers from 2 to 100 million in the US. The company also revealed its plan of making more podcasts and music available for free for its members. According to the e-commerce giant, the Prime Members up until now had limited access to 2 million songs but with the current expansion, members will get a library of 100 million songs.

Amazon made the announcement in a blog post that also mentioned, “Prime members can discover more new music and podcasts based on their likes; shuffle play any artist, album, or playlist in the catalogue; stream a collection of All-Access playlists tailored to personalized listening preferences on demand and download them for offline listening.”

Prime is Amazon’s fast-shipping and media service special membership plan. It has more than 200 million members across the world. This number includes subscribers in India as well. The Prime service costs $14.99 (which is Rs. 1,200) per month and $139 (which is Rs. 11,500) for the annual plan in the US. In India, however, the company provides monthly, three months and yearly plans to cater to different sections of people. The three Amazon Prime memberships are priced at Rs. 179 a month, Rs. 459 every three months, and Rs. 1,499 for the annual plan in India.

Amazon Prime Membership in India provides access to Prime Music services, which in India has no restrictions or limits like that in the US. Prime members in India can enjoy unlimited access to Prime Music. It has been like this since the launch of the music streaming services.  So, the streaming service basically offers more songs in India than its US counterpart. After the recent announcement, however, things will change and the number of songs available for Prime Members in both regions will be the same.

Amazon Prime Music

Interestingly, a similar announcement was also made by Apple last month regarding its music streaming service, Apple Music. Apple said that Apple Music had more than 100 million tracks available for subscribers to stream. Apple too is steadily working towards growing its streaming Music catalogue to emerge as a strong contender in the music streaming industry. The company also recently added multiple features and improvements including lossless audio streaming as well as Dolby Atmos support. The Apple Music app is now also available on various platforms such as iOS and Android.

According to the Cupertino company, “around 20,000 new tracks are being added to Apple Music’s catalogue every day, as the streaming service now has considerably more tracks than rival Spotify.”

In India, Apple Music membership plans start at Rs. 49 per month. Users can pay Rs. 49 per month for the voice plan or else Rs. 99 per month for an individual plan. The Rs 99 per month plan gives allows access to the app on multiple devices.

On the other hand, the popular music streaming service Spotify claims to have more than 80 million songs in its catalogue. As for plans, it seems Spotify offers many affordable options with plans starting at as low as Rs. 7 per day.

Users only need to click on the “Boost” button in order to boost their PC’s performance. This one button will function to find and remove the temporary files from your computer. It will free up memory instantly. “Boost” can be used anytime when a user experiences lagging or speed issues in their system.

The second function that the PC Manager app performs is the “Health Check.” Users can get a “Health check” of their computer to find any potential issues with the Windows 11 and 10 software. The function checks and searches for all kinds of junk files and not just temporary files. It also checks for Windows cache, system logs, and recent file lists for potential issues.

Other than this, users can also use the Windows PC Manager to manage storage, End and delete any resource hogging applications from the computer, disable startup apps for quick start, security and much more.
