The Red Magic 8 Pro was among the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones, coming at the very end of 2022.
Now company is bringing the improved Red Magic 8S Pro with Qualcomm’s next best chip, better cooling and a cooler-looking exterior.

The major change on the S-model is that it uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2, a faster version of the 8 Gen 2 chip that powered the 8 Gen 2.

The Plus version boosts the prime core from 3.2GHz to 3.36GHz and increases the GPU clock speed from 680MHz to 719MHz. What this means is that the 8S Pro should have 5% higher CPU and 5.7% higher GPU performance.

Yes, this is basically the same configuration as the “for Galaxy” chips but with a neutral branding. This is the first phone to use this particular version of the chip.

Anyway, the phone comes in several configurations, you can choose up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
But there is a Pro+ model with twice that, we’ll get to it in a bit.

The Red Core 2 chip makes another appearance and offloads some tasks from the Snapdragon.

The chipset’s performance level is maintained by the improved ICE 12 cooling system.
Compared to ICE 11 (used by the 8 Pro), the new system adds 5W/mK thermal paste and improves the air duct used by the 20K RPM fan.

Every variant of the 8S Pro has RGB lighting on that fan (previously, this was exclusive to the premium transparent version).

Speaking of variants, the new model keeps the aviation-grade aluminum frame and front glass, the back material depends on the variant you pick, which also dictates how much RAM and storage you get.

The phone is built around a large 6.8” AMOLED display with 1,116 x 2,480px resolution (20:9) and 100% DCI-P3 coverage.

Like the previous model, this panel peaks at 1,300 nits of brightness and as DC dimming. Protection is provided by the sheet of Gorilla Glass 5 on top.

The display has a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 960Hz.
There are two shoulder triggers with 520Hz touch sampling rate (7.4ms response time).

The dev team claims they have optimized the software responsible for those triggers.

The phone runs on a 6,000mAh battery with 165W fast charging, something that was exclusive to the Pro+ version of the Red Magic 8 (and that one had to sacrifice battery capacity, it had 5,000mAh in its tank).

The new cooling system also includes a graphene layer below the screen, which helps spread out the heat during charging.

The camera configuration hasn’t changed. The 16MP front-facing camera is under the display, so that it doesn’t get in the way of game graphics. The rear camera is based on the 50MP GN5 sensor (1/1.57”).

Wired connectivity is on the level – there is a 3.5mm headphone jack and the USB-C port can do video out if you want to play on a larger display, wireless screen sharing is an option as well at up to 120Hz with Red Magic Studio.
For those times when playing without headphones, there are two speakers with DTS:X Ultra sound.

The Red Magic 8S Pro goes on pre-order today and will go on sale on the 11th (next Tuesday).

The base 8/128GB model starts at CNY 4,000 ($550/€510/₹45,500), you can see a price breakdown below.
Note that the Aurora variant (with a transparent back) is only available in two memory configurations and they are a bit pricier than the other two colorways.

As we mentioned earlier, there is a Red Magic 8S Pro+ as well – this one starts at 16GB of RAM and 256GB storage for CNY 5,500 ($760/€700/₹62,500).

Once again the Aurora version has separate storage options, going all the way up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB storage for CNY 7,500 ($1,035/€950/₹85,000).
You read that right, this is the first phone with 24GB of RAM.

Nubia has launched the Red Magic 8S Pro series as the world’s first gaming smartphone series with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 SoC.
The new gaming phones from Nubia have been launched as an improved version of the Red Magic 8 Pro, which was released earlier this year with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

The new Red Magic 8S Pro also gets better cooling and a new design. The Red Magic 8S Pro+, which sits at the top of the lineup, features up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which might seem like an overkill for Android phones launching in 2023.
You can also buy the phone with up to 1TB of storage.

One last thing – there is a Red Magic 8S Pro+ Bumblebee limited edition (16/512GB) for CNY 6,500, which comes with a bespoke yellow design for the back along with multiple matching acceessories.

Nubia Red Magic 8S Pro Series: Price and Specifications

Nubia Red Magic 8S Pro series consists of two devices.

The Red Magic 8S Pro is available with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Its base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage has a starting price of CNY 3999 (roughly Rs 45,400).
The top-end storage option with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at CNY 5499 (roughly Rs 62,400).

The Red Magic 8S Pro also gets a special Aurora variant, which has a special rear panel design and is priced at CNY 4999 (roughly Rs 56,800) for the 12GB + 256GB model.
The top-end 12GB + 512GB variant is priced at CNY 5699 (roughly Rs 64.700).
There is the Red Magic 8S Pro+ as well, which starts at CNY 5499 (roughly Rs 62,400) for the base 16GB RAM variant with 256GB storage.

It goes all the way up to CNY 7499 (roughly Rs 85,200) for the top-end 24GB RAM variant with 1TB storage.

Notably, the Red Magic 8S Pro+ is the world’s first smartphone to feature 24GB RAM. Obviously, this does not mean the combination of physical and virtual RAM that we see many brands promoting in India.
Moving on to the hardware, the Red Magic 8S Pro series features an aviation-grade aluminium frame.

The phone has been launched with multiple back panel options as mentioned above. On the front, all models have a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 20: 9 aspect ratio, a 1,116 x 2,480-pixel resolution and 1440Hz PWM high-frequency dimming.
The 10-bit display offers up to 120Hz refresh rate support along with a 960Hz touch sampling rate and 1300 nits of peak brightness.
There is an under-screen 16MP front camera.

Under the hood, the devices feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 SoC, which is the world’s first. It is essentially the “For Galaxy” version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which has a peak clock speed of 3.36GHz.
Nubia has also packed an ICE 12.0 magic cooling system with a built-in fan for keeping the thermals in check. Also, there is the Red Core 2 chip to help enhance gaming performance.

There is also a 6,000mAh battery with support for up to 165W fast charging. On the back, the devices feature a triple-camera setup with a 50MP Samsung GN5 primary camera sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor.

OPPO is gearing up for the launch of the Reno 10 series in India. The company has confirmed the launch of three premium phones in India: the Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro and Reno 10 Pro+ 5G.

OPPO is confirmed to launch the Reno 10 Series in India soon. The lineup is confirmed to comprise standard, pro, and pro+ models as they have been listed on the company’s official website.

This is the first time, a Pro+ variant in the Reno series is coming to India. OPPO skipped the Reno 9 series in the country and so, the upcoming offerings will arrive as the successor to the Reno 8 series that debuted last year.

OPPO has officially confirmed the OPPO Reno 10 series India launch date. Per the details shared by OPPO, the OPPO Reno 10 series will launch in India on July 10.

The Reno 10 series will include three devices such as the OPPO Reno 10 5G, Reno 10 Pro 5G and the Reno 10 Pro+ 5G.

The OPPO Reno 10 series will be premium devices from the company. OPPO’s upcoming Reno series phones are set to launch on July 10. Ahead of the launch, tipster Mukul Sharma has uploaded the box prices of the Reno 10 series.

The Reno 10’s box price is said to be Rs 38,999, whereas the Reno 10 Pro’s box price is slightly higher at Rs 44,999. The top-of-the-line Reno 10 Pro+ 5G’s box price is said to be Rs 59,999.
The tipster also revealed that the OPPO Enco Air 3 Pro has a box price of Rs 7,999.

Typically, box prices are much higher than the official launch prices of the devices. Therefore, we can expect the Reno 10 series to cost much lower than the leaked box prices.

We can expect the Reno 10 to be priced at around Rs 30,000, whereas the Reno 10 Pro could be priced at around Rs 40,000. The Reno 10 Pro+ could be priced at around Rs 55,000.

As mentioned above, OPPO has not confirmed any details about the pricing of the devices. The same will be confirmed at the July 10 launch event.

OPPO had listed the devices on the India website, which confirmed the RAM, storage and colour options of the devices.

The top-end Reno 10 Pro+ 5G and Reno 10 Pro will launch with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

OPPO has already confirmed some key specs of the phones. The company had confirmed that the Reno 10 Pro+ 5G would feature 64MP telephoto portrait camera with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera with support for OIS.

The Reno 10 Pro will feature a 32MP Sony IMX709 portrait telephoto camera. All three devices will sport a 3D curved display with a hole-punch cutout at the top centre.

The microsite on the OPPO website reveals that all three devices will come with a 3D curved screen with a center-aligned punch-hole cutout. The device has a slim design and the back panel sports a pill-shaped camera module.

The product listing of the Reno 10 Pro+ 5G confirm that it will feature a 64MP OIS-enabled periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP Sony IMX890 main sensor with OIS along with a third unit. It also confirms MariSilicon X onboard.

The Reno 10 Pro 5G also has the same primary camera as the Pro+ but instead of a periscope lens, it has a 32MP Sony IMX709 telephoto unit. The listing of the standard Reno 10 reveals a 32MP telephoto portrait camera and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The product listings of the OPPO Reno 10 Pro 5G and Pro+ 5G also reveal that they will be available in 12GB + 256GB RAM and storage configurations and in Glossy Purple and Silver Grey colors.

On the other hand, the OPPO Reno 10 5G will be offered in Ice Blue and Silver Grey hues and in 8GB + 256GB variant.

Furthermore, the Reno 10 Pro 5G will flaunt a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor and a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera with OIS support.

The top-end Reno 10 series model i.e. the Reno 10 Pro+ 5G will feature a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera and a 64MP telephoto portrait camera with OIS support.
