6) Nothing’s leaked Phone 2 design looks like a curvier follow-up to its first phone .Details?

Ans) Ahead of the official launch of the Nothing Phone 2 next month, leaker OnLeaks has published unofficial renders based on a prototype of the new device.
You might be disappointed if you’re expecting the phone to be a radical departure from Nothing’s previous devices since it looks like the essential design of the Phone 1 lives on in its successor.

But there are a couple of differences to tease out from the renders, though cautions the phone’s design may have changed since this prototype was produced. Most notably, the flat, squared-off top and sides of the Phone 1 appear to have been given more of a curve for the Phone 2.

As Android Authority notes, it makes the Phone 2 look like an iPhone 6 next to the iPhone 5-style design of the Phone 1. Notes that the front and back of the Phone 2 also have a subtle curve to them.

If these renders are accurate, it appears as though the back of the Phone 2 will also have a flashing glyph interface similar to the Phone 1.

But although the overall shape of the lighting strips is similar, several of them have been split into separate strips, such as around the wireless charging coil and dual cameras.
The renders match a cropped image of the handset Nothing released last month.

Nothing has officially said the Phone 2 will be announced in July, a year after the launch of its predecessor.

It’s already announced that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, will have a bigger 4,700mAh battery, 6.7-inch display, and — unlike the Phone 1 — will be officially released in the US.

In a statement shared with the media, the executive confirmed the Phone 2, Nothing’s upcoming “premium” smartphone, will feature a transparent design requiring hi-tech manufacturing processes and precision engineering potentially contributing to the enhancement of country’s smartphone manufacturing capabilities.

Phone 2 is scheduled for global launch in July.

London-based Nothing is working on expanding local customer support, alongside, with plans to open over 230 authorised service centres in more than 250 cities.

Nothing Phone 2 everything we know so far

Ahead of launch, the Phone 2 is being touted as one of the most sustainable smartphones on the market.
The phone is said to be using 3x more recycled or bio-based parts than Phone 1 with 100 percent recycled aluminium for the outer frame and entirely plastic-free packaging.

The Phone 2 also has a carbon footprint over 5kg lower than the Phone 1, Nothing says, and the final assembly plants where it is being build are claimed to be powered by 100 per cent renewable energy.

The Phone 2 is confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship— but a bit dated— Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, theoretically giving it about 80 percent faster performance than the Phone 1 with the Snapdragon 778G Plus inside. It will come with a screen that is 0.15-inch bigger than Phone 1’s (i.e., 6.7-inch) and boast of a battery capacity of 4,700mAh (200mAh up from the Phone 1’s).

These design changes seem to be in line with the leaked design renders of the Phone (2), which also revealed that the device will continue to feature a semi-transparent design. The upcoming Nothing smartphone is also supposedly a lot more curvier on the sides, according to the leaked renders. However, soon after the alleged design renders leaked, CEO Carl Pei took to Twitter and tweeted “fake”, suggesting that the leaked design renders are not completely accurate.

Meanwhile, what is confirmed is the Phone (2)’s display size. The device will sport a 6.7-inch display. It should feature an AMOLED panel and offer support for a 120Hz refresh rate. If the leaked design renders are true for the display bit at least, the device will feature a hole-punch cutout at the top left corner for the front camera. Also, the screen will remain flat on all sides.

Under the hood, the device will feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which will also help Nothing unlock many camera features due to the upgraded Spectra 570 image signal processor (ISP). This includes support for Raw HDR and 4K video recording at 60 fps.

The Phone (2) is expected to be a more premium offering — the smartphone is confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and have a 4,700 mAh battery — slightly larger than the 4,500 mAh sported by its predecessor. This will also be the first time Nothing will sell a smartphone in the United States. The Phone (2) will run Nothing OS 2.0 out of the box.

Pricing and other details remain a mystery — for now. However, Nothing co-founder and CEO Carl Pei, in a recent interview with Forbes, said the price will be at a more acceptable level. ” …the latest technology comes at a cost which isn’t always justified from a user-benefit standpoint. Choosing Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 ensures that Phone (2) remains accessible while delivering a significantly improved experience compared to Phone (1),” Pei had said in the interview with Forbes.

The Nothing Phone (1) sported a dual camera array on the back — 50-megapixel primary and ultrawide shooters. It currently runs on the Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5. But the standout features were the snazzy glyph interface and the retro-chic user interface, simultaneously making this phone feel futuristic and a callback to the good old feature phones of yore.

The Phone (2) will become the fifth product in Nothing’s portfolio — joining the Ear (1), Phone (1), Ear (stick), and Ear (2).
