Tech giant Amazon and ride-hailing platform Uber have announced the second phase of their partnership, which involves a 5 percent cashback offer on every Uber ride for Amazon Prime subscribers.

They are now offering 5% cashback rewards to eligible users on every Uber ride.

The two companies previously came together last year to offer special discounts and complimentary ride upgrades.
This year’s offer is limited to cashback and here is everything you need to know.

Discounted Uber rides for Amazon Prime Subscribers

As a part of the collaboration of both companies, Amazon Prime subscribers will be eligible to receive a 5 percent cashback on every Uber ride they take.

The reward is split into two parts – 4 percent credits in Uber Cash and 1 percent cashback in Amazon Pay.

Those users who opt to pay for their Uber ride using any other payment method such as cash, credit/debit card, UPI, or any other mode will not be eligible for any reward.

How to receive cashback on every Uber ride?

In order to receive cashback, make sure that your Amazon Prime membership is active.
Then, you need to connect your Amazon Pay balance to your Uber wallet.
When paying for your Uber ride, use your Amazon Pay balance as the payment method.
Every Tuesday, 4 percent cashback will be added to your Uber Cash balance for the trips you took in the previous week.

Additionally, at the end of each ride, 1 percent cashback in Amazon Pay will be automatically added to your balance, as per Uber.

The first phase of the partnership saw Amazon and Uber collaborate to offer three monthly upgrades at no additional charge and exclusive access to UberPremier for the price of UberGo for Prime members.

Also, Amazon Prime subscribers got a 20 percent discount on up to three rides per month for its services like Uber Moto, Auto, Intercity, and Rentals services, saving them up to Rs 60.

Amazon Uber India Cashback Offer Details

Uber’s official announcement post reveals that Amazon Prime members can now get 5% cashback on every Uber ride.

The complete reward is divided into two parts where users will get 4% credits in Uber Cash and 1% Amazon Pay cashback. This is for all the rides taken by Prime members and paid for via Amazon Pay balance.

This second part of the offer condition is an important one to remember.

You will not earn any cashback if you choose to pay for Uber using any other payment method like cash, UPI, credit/debit card, or gift card. Another important thing to note is that the maximum Uber Cash credit that a rider can earn in a week is Rs 300.

All eligible users will get 1% Amazon Pay cashback added to their Amazon Pay balance right after the ride completion. However, the 4% Uber Cash credit will be added on a weekly basis.

Uber says it will add credits for all the rides taken in the previous week on each Tuesday.

These credits can then be used to pay for your future Uber rides.

How to Earn Cashback on Every Uber Ride?

The first step is to be an Amazon Prime member.
If you are not, purchase a Prime membership plan of your choice.

Link your Amazon Pay balance account with your Uber wallet. It can be done by visiting the payment method settings in the Uber app.
