Nokia is reportedly working on a mid-range phone called the Nokia G42.
The device was recently spotted at the Geekbench benchmarking site, and now it has appeared in the database of the Bluetooth SIG authority.
As can be seen in the screenshot below, another Nokia phone with the Nokia G310 5G moniker has also received Bluetooth certification.
The Finnish smartphone makers, Nokia has been launching a lot of its smartphone devices lately and recently many details of its upcoming smartphones were leaked ahead of its launch.
This article will be about a few more updates about the brand’s upcoming smartphones, which were revealed from few leaks and listings.
Updates on Upcoming Nokia Smartphones
Nokia’s upcoming G series smartphone, the Nokia G42 5G has now been listed on a retailer website with few of its specs and colour options revealed.
The upcoming smartphone is considered as the most affordable 5G device from the brand that is soon to be unveiled and the listing reveals the smartphone to operate on the Android 13 based operating system.
For its display, the smartphone is to feature a display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels and the device will be available in a storage option with a RAM of 6GB and internal storage of 128GB.
As per the listing, it has also been revealed that the device will be available in two colour choices of Grey and Purple.
Now regarding the other update, a few weeks back an upcoming Nokia device with codename “Venom” was leaked with its key specs revealed.
The leaked image revealed the smartphone to have Nokia’s usual design and the smartphone had great similarities with the upcoming Nokia G310 5G, which had received the FCC certification.
The smartphone in terms of its design also very much resembles the Nokia G22 smartphone and now another listing reveals both the device to use the same screen protectors.
As revealed both the devices use the same PanzerGlass for screen protection and taking the case of their similar rear panel design, both the devices might have the same body.
Regarding the key specs of the Nokia Venom, the smartphone will be powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset and will have an internal storage of 128GB along with a RAM of 4GB.
The device is also expected to have a 64MP triple camera setup with a front-facing camera of 16MP.
Along with these updates, from the Bluetooth SIG certification platform, two other Nokia smartphones with model numbers TA-1517 and TA-1524 have been listed along with the Nokia G22 smartphone.
What is curious is that the smartphone has been listed with the same description as the Nokia G22.
We might have to wait until more updates arrive to confirm anything about these newly spotted devices.
Nokia G42 5G, Nokia G310 5G Bluetooth SIG certified
The Bluetooth SIG certification confirms that Nokia phones with model numbers TA-1573 and TA-1591 / TA-1581 will debut in the market under the Nokia G310 5G and Nokia G42 5G names.
Apart from revealing support for Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, the Bluetooth listings of both phones have revealed their key specifications.
As per the Bluetooth listings, the Nokia G42 5G and the Nokia G310 5G will feature a 6.5-inch LCD panel with a V-shaped notch.
The screen will support an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 90Hz refresh rate, and up to 560 nits of brightness.
The screen will be protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3.
The Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G chipset will be present under the hood of both smartphones.
Both devices will come preloaded with the Android 13 OS.
On Geekbench, the Nokia G42 5G was spotted with 4 GB of RAM. Other reports have claimed that it will arrive in a 6 GB RAM variant as well and offer up to 128 GB of storage.
At present, there is no information available on the camera configurations or battery size of the device.
As can be seen above, the Nokia G42 5G and Nokia G310 5G have the same display and chipset.
It is currently not known whether the other specs of these phones will be the same or different.
Nokia G42 5G Geekbench Entry
The Geekbench entry of Nokia G42 5G reveals that it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
The Octa-core processor will have 6 cores clocked at 1.9 GHz and 2 cores at 2.21 GHz. The smartphone will come with 4GB RAM and Android 13 out of the box.
Nokia G42 5G Clear Case Listing
The clear case listing for Nokia G42 5G has an estimated delivery date of 19th to 21st July. This may indicate an early July launch date for Nokia G42 5G.
Though Nokia Mobile may launch the smartphone in June itself with accessories marked for a July release.

The handset was listed on the benchmarking site with quad core Qualcomm processor with a base frequency of 1.90 GHz.
There’s also a fast cluster of two cores, clocked at 2.21 Ghz.
While we don’t know the exact name of this processor, it is expected to be a lower mid-range SoC.
This is further evidenced by the running score.
The Nokia G42 has managed to score 738 in single-core tests and 1718 in multi-core tests.
The Geekbench listing further suggests that the smartphone gets at least 4GB of RAM and runs the Android 13 software out of the box.
This is all the information we get from the present listing.
Previous reports claim the Nokia G42 will also have a 6GB RAM variant with 128GB of built-in storage.
The smartphone could boast a screen resolution of 1612*720 and be available in purple and grey color options.
Other details about the smartphone are still anyone’s guess.

Ans) Quite a few phones have leaked out of the hands of Nokia Mobile this year before their planned releases, and one carries the codename Venom.
The device was leaked in mid-March by Hikari Calyx, who also revealed a few of its key specifications. Nokia Venom, with the model number TA-1529, has a probable 16 MP front camera and a triple rear camera setup consisting of one 64 MP and two 2 MP cameras.

It is unknown if any overlap exists between these two models and the Nokia Venom.
