Google Pay has announced the release of Aadhar-based authentication for UPI activation via the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). It is aimed at giving users more ways to activate their UPI IDs.

The support was originally released by NPCI last year but Google Pay is receiving it now. It is already one of the leading UPI apps in the country and is now hoping to reach even more users with the new feature.

If you are struggling to set your Unified Payments Interface (UPI) PIN without a debit card, there’s a new alternative. Mobile payment service Google Pay now lets people sign up for UPI through the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) using their Aadhaar numbers.

The company said that with the Aadhaar-based UPI onboarding method, people who use Google Pay wouldn’t need a debit card to set up their UPI PIN. This service is currently available to customers of banks who accept it. More banks are likely to follow suit soon.

How to Activate Google Pay UPI ID Using Aadhar?

The process of using Aadhar-based UPI activation on Google Pay is pretty simple and straightforward. However, there are a couple of things that need to be fulfilled before a user can proceed.

The first thing to ensure is that the same mobile number must be linked to Aadhar and the concerned bank account. The second thing is that the bank account must also be linked to Aadhar.

If you fulfil the aforementioned criteria, you can proceed with the following steps:

1. Launch the Google Pay application on your smartphone.
2. Choose Aadhar as the option for verifying your bank account.
3. Enter the first six digits of your Aadhar number.
4. Tap the Create PIN option to receive a 6-digit Aadhar OTP.
5. Enter OTP to authenticate yourself and your bank will handle this part.
6. Once authenticated successfully, choose a 6-digit UPI PIN for all your future transactions.

Google says it does not store your Aadhar number during the process. When a user enters the first six digits of Aadhar, it is shared with UIDAI via NPCI for validation purposes. This is done to ensure user privacy and the safety of the user’s Aadhar number.

Prior to this new feature, a user could not activate UPI ID unless they had a debit card. This is the reason many users across India who have a bank account but do not have a debit card could not use UPI. UIDAI’s data shows 99.9% of the adult population in India have an Aadhar number and they use it at least once a month.

OPPO Reno 10 series was unveiled in China recently and consisted of three models: the Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro, and Reno 10 Pro+. Rumours have started flowing that OPPO is gearing up to unveil the Reno 10 lineup in global markets, including India.

The renders reveal that OPPO will ship the global Reno 10 Pro 5G smartphone with a different design on the rear. The rear camera layout of the smartphone has been completely changed. Sudhanshu Ambhore added that the same device will launch in India.

The Reno 10 Pro 5G is said to be equipped with a 6.7 inches AMOLED display with a Full HD+ (2412 x 1080) resolution.

OPPO will equip the display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an aspect ratio of 20:1:9, and 1.07 billion colours. The company will use a 10-bit AMOLED panel with the Pro smartphone.

Underneath, it will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, built on a 6nm process. In contrast, the Chinese variant is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, built with a newer 4nm process.

OPPO has downgraded the display resolution and chipset to price the smartphone aggressively. The chipset will be paired with 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB storage. The smartphone will also support virtual RAM expansion of up to 12GB. The device will run on Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box. OPPO hasn’t downgraded its optics in comparison to the Chinese variant.

The Chinese OEM will equip the device with a triple rear camera with an integrated LED flash. The setup will comprise a primary 50MP Sony sensor with OIS, f/1.8 aperture, and a sensor size of 1/1.56-inch. The sensor will be paired with a secondary 8MP Sony ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.0 aperture and a 32MP Sony IMX 709 telephoto sensor with f/2.2 aperture.

The centred punch-hole in the display will feature a 32MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. The device will feature night, panorama, portrait, and macro photography. OPPO Reno 10 Pro 5G will be backed by a 4600 mAh battery which supports 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging tech. OPPO will equip the smartphone with an IP54 rating to protect it from water splashes.

Other specifications include stereo speakers, dual Nano-SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB type-C port. OPPO will also ship the smartphone with a screen protector in the box for European markets. Previously, a tipster revealed that OPPO is likely to price the OPPO Reno 10 Pro 5G smartphone between Rs 35,000 and Rs 39,000.

The Redmi 12 official renders released by the publication reveal that it will be available in three colors, such as black, white, and blue. On the front, the device can sport a punch-hole display, and on the back, it features a triple camera unit.

The camera arrangement on the rear of the Redmi 12 bears similarities to the camera arrangement found on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series. The right edge of the device has a volume rocker and a power button, which is integrated with a fingerprint sensor.

iQOO 11S Officially Certified by China’s MIIT Ahead of Expected Launch in July

iQOO is gearing up to launch another smartphone in the iQOO 11 series ahead of the launch of the iQOO 12 series in China. A tipster recently revealed that iQOO would launch the device in China in early July.

We can expect iQOO to officially announce and start teasing the features of the upcoming smartphone in the coming weeks. Popular tipster Digital Chat Station has tipped the specifications of the upcoming iQOO 11S smartphone.

The smartphone is listed on China’s MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) website, indicating the launch is nearing.

iQOO is officially teasing the launch of iQOO Neo 7 Pro in India. On the other hand, there are reports suggesting that the Chinese division of the brand will soon debut the iQOO 11S. This smartphone seems to have been listed on the MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) website.

A soon-to-be-released iQOO phone, identified by the model number V2304A, has been recently spotted on the MIIT regulatory authority website in China. This handset is believed to be the highly anticipated iQOO 11S.
The website does not tell much about the device. However, the presence of 5G network support has been confirmed.

We do not have any official words on the specifications of the device. However, known tipster Digital Chat Station had previously tipped the specifications of the upcoming iQOO 11S smartphone on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo.

The tipster claims that the phone will be focused on providing higher performance and faster charging tech. According to him, the handset will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset.

He further tells that the phone will flaunt a Samsung E6 OLED panel with a 2K 3200 x 1440 pixel resolution and up to a 144Hz high refresh rate. The handset will offer a 50-megapixel primary camera along with Vivo’s V2 imaging chip to help further in the camera processing.

As mentioned earlier, the device will focus on faster charging counterpart and will support up to 200W fast wired charging.

The report also claims that the smartphone will launch as early as next month, i.e. July 2023 in China.
After the Chinese launch, the phone would be later introduced to the overseas market. It has also been reported that the handset will go on sale in China starting July 08th.

If the leak regarding the product’s July launch comes out to be true, we can expect an official hint or teaser from the brand in the near future.

iQOO 11S Tipped Specifications

The MIIT listing reveals that the model number of the upcoming iQOO device would be V2304A. Tipster Paras Guglani shared the same model number in April 2023, citing his sources.
However, the MIIT listing doesn’t confirm the moniker of the device. Apart from the model number, the website reveals that the handset supports 5G.

According to Digital Chat Station iQOO would ship the new smartphone with an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. There are rumours that the device is expected to pack a large 5000mAh battery that supports 200W fast charging tech.

The primary difference between vanilla iQOO 11 and 11S would remain in only chipset and fast charging.

iQOO is expected to retain the same Samsung E6 AMOLED 6.78 inches display with a 2K resolution. The display will sport a refresh rate of 144Hz and will be equipped with features similar to the vanilla model.
The company will also equip the device with a 50MP primary sensor which will be equipped with Vivo’s V2 imaging sensor.

There are reports that the sale of the device would start by July 8 in China. The device is also expected to launch in the international markets in the upcoming months. iQOO will launch the iQOO 11S smartphone in two variants with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.0 storage.

The chipset is expected to pair with 8, 12GB of RAM and 256, 512GB of storage.
In contrast, iQOO 11 features a 6.78-inch E6 AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate.

The display equips a centred punch-hole and gets protection from Coring Gorilla Glass Victus. The device is equipped with a standard Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
The chipset is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. iQOO uses UFS 4.0 for 256 and 512GB variants.

The smartphone runs on Funtouch OS based on Android 13 out of the box. The device has a triple rear camera setup comprising a primary 50MP sensor with OIS. The sensor is paired with 13MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture.

iQOO uses OnePlus’s favourite 16MP selfie camera with f/2.5 aperture. iQOO ships the device with a 5000mAh battery which supports 120W fast charging tech.

The handset will reportedly have the model number V2304A when released in China, but will have a different model number when it is released globally. This indicates the phone will first be launched in China followed by a global release. The source also claims that the iQoo 11s will be launched in China in the “third quarter” and is expected to release in global markets by August or June this year.

As for specifications, the iQoo 11s is expected to arrive in two variants. There could be a base variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage and a second option with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The iQoo 11s is expected to feature a 6.78-inch QHD+ resolution (3,200 x 1,440 pixels) E6 AMOLED panel made by Samsung. The handset is expected to be powered by a yet to be announced MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC or an existing Dimensity 9000 series SoC when released in China. The handset could also be equipped with UFS 4.0 RAM.

Other details about this new handset remain unknown. This includes details regarding its camera specifications and its battery charging-related details, which would give us a better idea about whether it is placed alongside the iQoo 11 Pro or below the iQoo 11 in terms of value. It now seems to be gearing up to show some more love to non-Ultra cameras with the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series. A fresh leak has emerged revealing new Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro camera details.

Xiaomi is reportedly set to unveil the highly anticipated Xiaomi 14 series smartphones in China. Industry reports suggest that these devices, expected to hit the market in November, will be powered by Qualcomm’s forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which may debut in October this year.

Notably, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are rumored to feature periscope zoom cameras, alongside the previously announced Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 14 Pro’s periscope telephoto camera will offer 5x optical zoom with an impressive 115mm focal length.

Meanwhile, its sibling, the Xiaomi 14, will have a periscope telephoto camera with 3.9x optical zoom and a shorter 90mm focal length. The leaker did not share any other information on the cameras in the Xiaomi 14 lineup.

Previous reports have claimed that, like the Xiaomi 13 Pro, its successor will have three 50-megapixel cameras on its back. It is rumored to include a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a zoom camera. There is no information on the camera setup of the Xiaomi 14.

As per reports, the front-facing camera of the Xiaomi 14 Pro will support 4K video recording, promising high-quality selfies and video calls.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be launching next year. The ultimate flagship may debut in Q1 2024 in China.

Digital Chat Station, a well-known and reliable Weibo-based tipster, has shared that Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are set to get improved optical zoom capabilities.

Both these smartphones are tipped to come with a periscope camera setup which we do not see on the current-gen models.

Vanilla Xiaomi 14’s camera sensor is said to deliver up to 3.9x optical zoom and have a 90mm focal length. The Xiaomi 14 Pro will reportedly offer up to 5x optical zoom and have a 115m focal length.

It means users will be able to zoom in further while clicking photos without worrying about losing the image quality.

This is a good improvement over the 3.2x optical zoom and 75mm focal length available on the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro.

However, the leak does not mention other camera specifications like the sensor type and megapixel count. We can expect to know these missing details in future leaks.

Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro: Everything We Know So Far

The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro have already been spotted on the IMEI database website. It revealed the model numbers to be 23127PN0CC and 23127PN0CG for the vanilla variant and 23116PN5BC and 23116PN5BG for the Pro variant. The two model numbers for each phone are meant to be for Chinese and Global variants respectively.

There is another leak that claims Xiaomi 14 Pro will actually have two models with different display panels and charging speeds.

One model will have a flat display with 2.5D glass and the other one will have a curved display with 3D glass. The wired fast charging speed will be 90W and 120W respectively.

The Xiaomi 14 Pro is further rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It is an upcoming flagship processor that will power the majority of 2024 Android flagships.

The battery capacity of the phone is 5,000mAh and will also support 50W wireless charging. As for the launch, it is likely to happen during the second half of the year and closer to the year-end. We will keep you posted as and when more details will emerge.
