Faqs on Xiaomi 13 Ultra

1) How is Xiaomi 13 Ultra a decent upgrade?

Ans) The Xiaomi 12S Ultra debuted the Surge G1 chip which has three distinct functions. The: battery health, accurate prediction, and battery life extension. This chip has the ability to monitor battery safety in real time at the millisecond level, achieve the most precise battery life prediction available, and greatly improve the battery life of mobile devices. The Surge P2 is a brand new chip. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra the Surge P1 before, which achieved a single-cell 120W fast charge and made the 100W fast charge’s body smaller and slimmer.

Before its launch, there have been a couple of reports about the Surge P2 chip. Some of the reports claim that this chip can deliver super-100W single-cell and dual-cell solutions, such as 200W-level charging under a single cell.

It’s crucial to note that for many users, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra’s 67W fast charging last year was their biggest regret. To make up for this deficit, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is going to be updated to a 100W rapid charge. This time, the device will use the help of the Surge P2 / Surge G1 chip.

2) What are the good points of Xiaomi 13 ?

Ans) Good Points of Xiaomi 13 Ultra

* Familiar Apple-like design
* Brilliant AMOLED display
* Superior camera results
* Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 runs well
* Stereo speakers offer good sound
* MIUI 14 is easy to use

3) What are the disadvantages of Xiaomi 13 ?

Ans) •Slippery as an eel
•Average battery runtime

4) What does Xiaomi 13 Ultra Design Renders?

Ans) The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be the company’s top-end flagship for 2023. The device is confirmed to launch in April with Leica-tuned cameras. Xiaomi did not reveal any other details about the phone. However, tipster OnLeaks, who recently partnered with MySmartPrice exclusively for the Pixel 7 design renders, has now shared the 13 Ultra’s design renders.

The images reveal that the 13 Ultra has a flat frame with rounded corners. It houses the power and volume buttons on the right edge of the phone. At the bottom edge, there is the USB Type-C port, the SIM tray and a speaker grille. There are some cutouts at the top as well, which could be for the secondary microphone, an IR blaster and a speaker grille.
OnLeaks claims that the phone’s White colour variant will have a leather-like finish. There is a massive circular camera module on the back for the quad-camera setup and the dual-LED flash. The camera module is raised on top of the protruded rear panel, which further curves and blends in towards the lower portion of the rear panel.

There is the Xiaomi branding in the left corner. What is missing here is the Leica branding. The final product is likely to ship with the text in the camera module to highlight the collaboration.

On the front, the phone has a curved display with a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. OnLeaks claims that the phone has a circa 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED curved display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone will measure about 163.18 × 74.64 × 9.57 mm.

Some other details about the phone have leaked as well. The phone’s quad-camera setup will feature a 1-inch 50MP Sony IMX989 main camera on the back. It is also said to get a new secondary sensor. We can also see a periscope lens in the mix. There will be another zoom lens in the quad-camera setup. As per rumours, the 13 Ultra will feature four 50MP sensors on the back.

The front camera will have a 32MP sensor. There will be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. The 13 Ultra will feature a 4900mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging and 50W
wireless charging. Lastly, it will boot Android 13-based MIUI 14 out of the box.

5) How is the Xiaomi 13S are out of the plans of Chinese technology?

Ans) It was through the Weibo social network that the person in charge of Xiaomi clarified the issue of Xiaomi 13S. This year, the company will release this mid-year update, so Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro will remain relevant until the arrival of Xiaomi 14.

Lei Jun did not want to say the reasons that led Xiaomi to choose this decision. She merely confirmed that the high-end “S” line will not feature new items in 2023.

In 2022, Chinese technology launched the Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro on the market as a slight update to its top of the range. A series of teams that stood out for subtle adjustments in the cameras and the presence of a new processor.

This scenario will not be repeated in 2023, but that is not necessarily bad news for fans of the brand. It means that what the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro offer will be good enough to stay relevant through 2023.

Still, we expect the brand to present the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in the middle of this year. This will be the pinnacle of Chinese technology in 2023 and will be the flagship model for those looking for the best possible photography experience.

For now, let’s focus on the global launch of Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. This will happen next Sunday (February 26) with Xiaomi taking the stage at MWC 2023 to reveal all the details of the availability of these smartphones in Europe.

6) What are Xiaomi 13 Ultra specifications?

Ans) If rumours are to be believed, then we can expect the Xiaomi 13 Ultra to feature a 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. Leaks also suggest the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will run Android 13 OS with MIUI 14 layered on top.

The launch announcement also confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will feature Leica-branded camera lenses. When it comes to optics, it could be a quad-camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor and three more 50MP sensors. For selfies, the smartphone is rumoured to sport a 32MP camera. More leaked specifications of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra include a 4,900mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.

7) What is Xiaomi 13 Ultra design?

Ans) There have been leaks around the phone’s design as well and the event teaser also gave us a glimpse on the camera module. It’s a slightly large circular camera module housing what looks like four sensors. This is in line with the leaked renders of the device which also showed a punch-hole selfie camera and curved edges. The smartphone is also expected to launch in two colour options of White Ceramic and Black leather finish.

8) What is Xiaomi 13 Ultra price (expected)?

Ans) Thanks to several leaks and rumours we also have an idea on how much the Xiaomi 13 Ultra could cost. The smartphone is expected to launch in three variants and start at CNY 2,699 (Rs 75,100) and go up to CNY 7,499 (Rs 89,500). This pricing is based on the conversion and it will differ depending on the market.

iOS 17 Features Leak Apple iPhone’s Siri to be integrated with Dynamic Island in iOS 17, claims tipster

0
iOS 17

HIGHLIGHTS

* Apple’s next major update for iPhones could feature some big Siri changes.
* Siri is expected to see a UI change in iOS 17.
* Apple could also drop the word “Hey” from Siri’s launch action.

Apple is reportedly planning some major upgrades to its digital assistant, Siri. In the next iOS update, we could see a revamped Siri Ul and we may no longer have to add a “Hey” to activate Siri. The new changes are expected to debut with iOS 17 later this year or roll out as a future iOS 17 update.

Siri on iOS 17

iOS 17

According to the tipster analyst941 on Twitter, Siri will move to the Dynamic Island that’s located on the top of the screen. At present, the Siri launch screen is at the bottom of the iPhone and it’s also where the digital assistant displays all its search results.

However, with iOS 17, the tipster alleges that Siri will be integrated with the Dynamic Island’s notification. This would give way to a more clean and interactive Siri. This revamp will however be limited only to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max smartphones and the upcoming iPhone 15 series which is said to feature the Dynamic Island on all its models.

iOS 17

The tipster also added that IOS 17 will be available for all iPhones that have been updated to iOS 16. This bit of information is notable as there were rumours that Apple is not planning to roll out iOS 17 for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the iPhone X. But even this is another rumour so we won’t know for sure until Apple confirms the same.

Coming back to Siri, another major being planned is the possibility of launching Siri without having to say the word “Hey”. If you want to activate Siri, you have to do so by saying, “Hey Siri.” But according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to change it to just “Siri”.

iOS 17

This would be similar to activating Amazon’s Alexa which doesn’t require any prefix. This change, however, as Gurman puts it would be quite technical so we might see it arrive next year with a future iOS 17 update.

iOS 17 will be the next major iPhone update and we’re expecting to hear more about it at Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) that’s taking place between June 5 and June 9.

FAQ’s on iOS 17

1) What are the updates to iOS 17?

Ans) Performance and stability

The source claims that iOS 17 will focus on performance, efficiency, stability and long-term support for older devices.

System requirements

Despite a recent report claiming iOS 17 may drop support for the iPhone X and other devices powered by the Apple A10 chip, the source claims that the operating system will support all the same models as iOS 16, including all A11-powered phones like the iPhone X and iPhone 8. iPadOS 17 might lose support for A9 and A10-powered iPads, which will be decided in a few weeks.

As mentioned earlier, iOS 17 won’t have any tentpole new features as the main focus will be bug fixes, reliability and performance improvements.

Interactive widgets

Widgets in iOS show you snippets of information, but they’re not interactive. For example, you can’t mark a message as read in the Gmail widget. iOS 17 should bring interactive widgets with “one-tap buttons, sliders and more.”

Control Center

As previously reported, iOS 17 should redesign the Control Center. The source expects major changes for the Control Center interface, customization, etc.

Dynamic Island

The source says that the iPhone’s Dynamic Island will become more useful. Apple’s marketing department has apparently “pressured” the development team to add more features to the Dynamic Island, including moving Siri’s interface into this area (on supported devices. It seems the final decision’s yet to be made as “Apple may or may not go with the Dynamic Island version of Siri.” The source also adds that “many more notifications” will integrate with the Dynamic Island.

Camera app

iOS 17 could introduce changes in the Camera app. The source doesn’t reveal the changes, which were apparently planned for the iPhone 14 Pro’s release, but warns that they could be specific to the iPhone 15 models (probably to account for new camera features like deep optical zoom).

Always-On display

Apple will apparently implement additional settings and toggles for the Always-On display feature, but the source wouldn’t expand on this claim with details.

Focus filters

New filters for Focus modes in the Settings app. Unspecified notification changes and “additional options in Settings.”

Custom Accessibility Mode

This will apparently enable complete control over the iOS user interface layout, making it ideal for older persons and younger children. 9to5Mac previously unearthed Custom Accessibility Mode screens from the iOS code.

Wallet

iOS 17 will expand support for digital car keys via the Wallet app.

Health

The Health app will undergo some visual changes, the source claims, with a special focus on the app’s Favorites section.

Search

The Spotlight search feature in iOS 17 will be “heavily improved.”

Augmented reality

Apple’s ARKit framework for building augmented reality apps will be “an absolute behemoth” in iOS 17. Of course, Apple is heavily rumored to preview its first AR/VR headset at WWDC, and the ARKit framework could be the main sauce. “Don’t take that lightly,” the source adds, “a metric ton of” changes in ARKit is expected.

Tidbits

The source also shared these iOS 17 tidbits, including features not to expect:

* Lock Screen: Some new Lock
Screen controls should be added to the Settings app (this could be as simple as consolidating all the controls under a new Lock Screen section in Settings (similar to macOS
Ventura’s System Settings app).
* Home Screen: iOS 17 will not allow you to place Home Screen icons wherever you like, like on Android.
These will still snap to a predetermined grid.
* Sound management: The source has yet to hear anything about independent control of the ringer, notification and system sounds in the revamped Control Center.
* Keyboard: There will be no number row for the onscreen keyboard.

2) What is iOS 17 preview coming at WWDC23?

Ans) Apple will preview iOS 17, iPadOS 17, tvOS 17, watchOS 10 and macOS 14 at its annual conference for developers, WWDC, which takes place June 5-9.

The WWDC keynote in the morning and the State of the Union talk in the afternoon on June 5 will give fans and developers a good overview of the most significant new features and under-the-hood changes coming to Apple’s software platforms.

The company will restart the beta cycle by releasing the first developer previous of iOS 17 and other updates the same day. People who aren’t Apple’s registered developers will need to wait two weeks or so for public betas to arrive.

According to the source, the first few beta cycles could be “rough” for devices with 3 gigabytes of RAM, like the iPhone X and standard iPad models. This will improve as subsequent betas become more stable and efficient.

* The handset will have a clamshell design, a tiny secondary screen on the front, and curved edges.
* Motorola Razr Lite is expected to debut later this year.
* Motorola might launch not one but two foldable phones later this year.
* The Motorola Razr Lite, aka the Razr 2023, is likely to debut soon.

Motorola is apparently working on launching the Motorola Razr Plus 2023 sometime later this year. Rumours suggest the phone will have a clamshell-style foldable phone and pack a bigger cover display and hardware improvements.

Now, MySmartPrice has exclusively reported that the company is also working on an affordable Razr foldable, dubbed the Motorola Razr Lite.

As the name suggests, the foldable will sit below the premium model. The report further reveals some key details of the phone in the form of 5K renders, courtesy of OnLeaks.

Motorola is gearing up for the launch of the Razr Plus 2023 later this year. The new clamshell-style foldable phone is tipped to launch with a bigger cover display and some key upgrades under the hood. It will be Motorola’s most premium foldable offering.

The company is also working on an affordable version of its Razr foldable phone. Industry Sources learnt about the launch of a new foldable phone called the Motorola Razr Lite.

The upcoming Razr Lite, as the name suggests, will sit below the premium sibling Razr Plus 2023.

It is likely that the phone might alternatively debut without the “Lite” moniker at the end and the company might simply call it the Motorola Razr 2023. There are no official details about the phone’s launch timeline. Meanwhile, we bring to you some exclusive details about the Razr Lite 2023.

Tipster OnLeaks, who recently revealed the exclusive design renders and details about the Google Pixel 7a, has now collaborated with MySmartPrice to give you the first look at the Motorola Razr Lite.

Let’s take a look at the Motorola Razr Lite design renders, specifications and other details leaked ahead of the launch.

Motorola Razr Lite (Razr 2023)

Motorola Razr Lite affordable flip phone could launch alongside Razr Plus 2023

The Motorola Razr 2023 renders show the phone will have a clamshell-style folding mechanism. The phone has a punch-hole cutout at the top centre and slim bezels around the display. This should offer a good viewing experience during media consumption or gaming.

There is a tiny cover display. Considering the size is considerably small, it should probably have limited tasks like display time, notifications and incoming call alerts. The cover screen is comparatively smaller than OPPO Find N2 Flip or the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4.

There is a dual-camera setup and an LED flash beside the cover display. Interestingly, the frame is curved and there are antenna lines.

The report clarifies that the design renders are based on low-quality real-life images of the testing stage prototype. While it is possible that the design might be largely identical, there might be some subtle changes in the final product. We can see the phone in Black colour but there could be other options at launch.

That pretty much covers the design. Unfortunately, the report doesn’t reveal anything about the specifications but we’re hoping to learn more details in the days to come so stick around.

This is Your First Look at the Motorola Razr Lite

Motorola RAZR | juggly.cn

The Motorola Razr Lite 2023 will be launching soon. The foldable phone will sit below the Razr Plus 2023, which is also expected to debut soon. OnLeaks, our reliable source for the leak, has revealed the key design details of the Razr Lite 2023 foldable phone.

As seen in the design renders below, the Razr Lite 2023 will have a clamshell-style folding mechanism. The foldable display of the Razr Lite 2023 has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. We can also see the bezels around the display being fairly thin, which should help offer an immersive viewing experience.

On the outside, there is a tiny cover display. The design renders show that the cover display might be useful for a limited number of tasks, such as displaying the time or maybe checking notifications or incoming calls.

The display is quite small compared to the likes of the Oppo Find N2 Flip and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.

The upcoming Vivo X Flip also seemingly has a bigger display than the one seen in the Razr Lite 2023. There is a dual-camera setup next to the cover display of the Razr Lite 2023. The LED flash module is also placed below the camera sensors.

The frame is curved and has antenna lines of it, suggesting the use of metal. It is worth noting that the design renders are based on low-quality, real-life pictures of a testing stage prototype.

Therefore, it is likely that some details depicted in these renders may differ a bit compared to the final product.

Also, as mentioned above, the device might be called the Razr Lite 2023 or simply Razr
2023. At the time of writing this, we cannot confirm the official marketing name of the device. Other details about the upcoming foldable phone from Motorola are under wraps.

Faqs on Motorola Razr 2023

1) How is the display of Motorola Razr 2023?

Ans) The cover display of the device Motorola Razr 2023 occupies almost the whole top rear panel, which has a dual camera setup alongside an LED flash. The exact size of the cover display is unknown at the moment, but we can expect it to be around 3.26-inch, much like the one found on the OPPO Find N2 Flip.

Moving on to the main display, strangely, the Motorola Razr 2023 does not appear to have any sort of cutout for the selfie camera, which could either mean that the device might feature an under-display front camera or might skip it entirely.

The latter is also a plausible theory, considering the fact that the outer cover display could potentially be used as a viewfinder for taking selfies, that too via the device’s main camera.
This could eliminate the need for a hole in the display, thereby ensuring a more immersive viewing experience.

2) How is the design of Motorola Razr 2023?

Ans) The Motorola Razr 2023 design renders have leaked ahead of the foldable phone’s official launch. The device will have a big cover display. The leaked renders of the upcoming Motorola foldable phone were uploaded by tipster Evan Blass.

The renders show that the cover display almost occupies the whole top rear panel shell.
The foldable phone’s outer display will have three cutouts at the bottom right. These are for the dual-camera setup and an LED flash.

The exact size of the cover display is unknown. However, by the looks of it, the Razr 2023 might have a cover display bigger than the OPPO Find N2 Flip, which has a 3.26-inch outer screen.

On the inside, the phone does not have any cutout for the front camera, according to the leaked design renders shared by The Tech Outlook.

It could be possible that Motorola launches the phone with an under-screen front camera or none at all. And it might make sense as the cover display itself is large enough to be used as a viewfinder for clicking selfies.

This will also help get an immersive viewing experience when using the foldable screen.
The bezels around the foldable display are fairly narrow.

The frame is also curved, which should help offer comfortable grip. At the moment, no specifications of the phone have leaked online.

3) What are the details Motorola Razr+ 2023 3C, EEC Certified ?

Ans) The Motorola Razr+ 2023 will take on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and OPPO Find N2 Flip when it is launched in China and other markets.

Ahead of the launch, the phone has been spotted on the 3C certification website.
As per the listing, the phone has the model number XT-2321-2. The listing reveals that the Razr+ 2023 will offer support for 33W fast charging.

In addition to the 3C certification, the foldable phone from Motorola also visited the EEC certification website.

While the EEC listing does not confirm any details other than its model number, it does hint at an imminent launch of the phone.

The phone was recently spotted on the FCC certification website, which revealed that it will pack a dual-cell battery.

The device will have two cells in a combination of 2850mAh and 790mAh. This, in total, would be 3640mAh.

The Razr Plus 2023 will have a slightly bigger battery than the outgoing model, which came with a 3500mAh battery.

Some other details about the foldable phone have leaked in the past. The phone has a big cover display that covers almost the entire top half of the rear panel when unfolded.

The remaining half of the phone will have a magenta colour back panel. At the top of the cover screen are cutouts for the dual-camera setup with an LED flash.

In addition to this, the phone is said to sport a 6.7/ 6.8-inch foldable OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution.

The front camera will be located under the screen. Other details about the Razr Plus 2023 are unknown.

FAQ’s on Realme 11 Series

1) What are the details of Realme 11 Pro 5G and Realme 11 Devices Listed on BIS Website?

Ans) Two new Realme devices have been listed on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website with RMX3771 and RMX3761 model numbers. The former model number belongs to the Realme 11 Pro 5G, going by the past record from the Bluetooth SIG certification listing. The RMX3761 model number could be the Realme 11 device.

However, there is no confirmation if the device will be 4G or 5G yet. Since the devices have already bagged the 3C certification, TENAA, and Bluetooth SIG website in addition to the BIS certification, we are expecting the device to be launched soon in India. However, there is no confirmation of the launch from the company yet.

Specification-wise, the standard 11 Pro 5G is said to come with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ screen with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB storage options. The phone is tipped to feature a large 4,780mAh battery and offer 67W fast charging. The Pro+ model in the Realme 11 lineup is likely to offer a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 200MP main camera, and 100W fast charging support. Both phones are expected to launch with Android 13 OS.

Currently, there is no information on the vanilla Realme 11 model. In a separate report, PriceBaba has reported that the Realme RMX3760 (likely Realem 11 series device) FCC documents. As per the report, the device will feature a 5,000mAh battery and 33W fast charging. We can expect the Realme 11 series to be launched in the second half of 2023.

2) When is Realme 11 phones coming to India?

Ans) Realme’s smartphone business relies chiefly on budget and mid-range smartphones. The brand also has several flagships planned but they don’t quite get the same consumer attention as the more affordable offerings. The Chinese company appears to be ready to soon launch new smartphones under the Realme 11 series. The lineup should include Realme 11 Pro+, Realme 11 Pro, and likely a standard Realme 11.

Today, the Pro model along with the vanilla Realme 11 has bagged Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification with model numbers RMX3771 and RMX3761. The listing did not reveal anything interesting about the two devices except confirming their India launch.

While the Realme 11 Pro has been spotted on many certification sites recently, there has been relatively little information available about the standard Realme 11 as it has appeared in fewer listings.

Reports suggest the Pro phone will get a 6.7-inch Full HD+ screen with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB onboard storage.

It is rumored to come equipped with a sizable 4,780mAh battery and a 67W fast charging capability. The device will likely debut with the Android 13 out of the box. The handset’s camera specifications and chipset remains unknown at this time but more details are expected to surface in the near future.

Samsung Keyboard causing battery drain on One UI 5.1, company confirms: Here’s How to Save Your Phones Battery From Draining

0
Samsung Keyboard

HIGHLIGHTS

* Samsung devices running the One UI 5.1 update have been complaining of battery drainage issues.
* The problem seemed to have been due to the Samsung Keyboard app.
* An update for the same has already been rolled by Samsung to fix the issue.
* After installing One UI 5.1, almost all major Galaxy devices experienced battery drain issues.
* A community moderator for Samsung confirmed that the Keyboard app was at fault.
* Samsung rolled out an update to fix the problem.

One UI 5.1, which debuted with the Galaxy S23, started rolling it out to older devices soon after the launch of the Galaxy S23 series. It brings many new features, but it also seems to be causing excess battery drain on many devices.

At first, only the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S22 were thought to be affected by this problem. However, it now seems like the issue also exists on many other devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Samsung Keyboard

Back then, the root cause of this excess battery drain wasn’t clear. However, many users reported that the Samsung Keyboard app caused the problem. It was consuming way more battery than it should.

At least, that’s what the battery usage statistics on Samsung phones indicated. Well, those user speculations were indeed correct.

Samsung has now confirmed that the Samsung Keyboard app is one of the reasons for the increased battery drain on devices running One UI 5.1.

Samsung Keyboard Update fixes One UI 5.1 Battery Drain issue

Samsung Keyboard

Samsung said in its community forum for Thailand that Samsung Keyboard increases battery usage on devices running One UI 5.1. According to the company, this version of the Samsung Keyboard consumes more battery ” due to some additional qualifying process (related to stickers and emojis).”

At least, that’s what the statement reads when translating from Thai to English.
Fortunately, Samsung has come up with a fix for this problem, and it comes with the Samsung Keyboard app update (v5.6.10.31) released on March 2, 2023. You may already be running this version.

The company has asked Galaxy smartphone and tablet users to update Samsung Keyboard to the latest version to solve the battery drain issue.

Galaxy Store automatically updates system apps by default. So, chances are that you are already running the latest version of Samsung Keyboard. If the app hasn’t been updated yet, you can update it by heading to Galaxy Store » Menu » Updates and tapping the Update All button. It should solve the excessive battery drain issue.

While it sounds like an easy fix, we are unsure if Samsung Keyboard was the only culprit behind the issue. So, updating the app may not fix the problem completely.

Many users with devices running One UI 5.1 and with the latest version of all the system apps are still facing the excessive battery drain issue. It suggests that One UI 5.1 has other Xproblems yet to be fixed.

Samsung rolled out the One UI 5.1 update earlier this year but soon after, users started complaining about battery drainage. The culprit seemed to be the native Samsung keyboard which happened to consume more battery it normally should after the One UI 5.1 update.

Samsung later confirmed that it is indeed the keyboard, and it also issued a fix with a new update.

The issue was problematic in nature but more so since it affected flagship devices. Smartphones such as the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 were among the first to get affected but it soon started appearing on the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Fold3 as well. Samsung later confirmed through its Thailand community forum that the One UI 5.1 update consumes more battery than usual, SamMobile reported.

The issue was quickly fixed though and may have gone unnoticed by Samsung users. The company had already rolled out a fix with the Samsung Keyboard app update v5.6.10.31.

Samsung Keyboard

This update was rolled out back on March 2 this year which means that most users must have already installed it.

Still it may have been missed and so users who have One UI 5.1 update on their Samsung devices should update the Samsung keyboard app to the latest version.

The app can be manually updated through Samsung’s Galaxy Store if you don’t have automatic updates turned on. You can do so by going to the Galaxy Store > Updates > Samsung Keyboard > Update. Another way is to open the Samsung Keyboard > Settings > About Samsung Keyboard > Update.

While Samsung did acknowledge that the Samsung Keyboard app has battery draining issues, some users are still facing the problem even after updating it, the report added. It is expected that the One UI 5.1 update could have some other issues that is leading to battery drainage.

FAQ’s on Samsung One UI 5.1 Update

1) How can you manually install update on your device ?

Ans) Here’s how you can manually install the update on your device.
* Galaxy Store > Menu > Updates > Samsung Keyboard > Update
* Samsung Keyboard > Settings > About Samsung Keyboard > Tap Update button

2) What are Samsung Galaxy One UI 5.1 update: Highlights?

Ans) While Samsung confirmed that the keyboard app battery drainage was happening, what is unclear is if it was the only app contributing to the overall battery drainage that users had noticed.

The One UI 5.1 update brought with it an enhanced camera experience, complete with a new Expert RAW feature for high-quality images.

The update also brings an improved DeX mode, where you can connect your phone to a large display to make it work like a PC. The new update allows users to resize windows using the splitter in the middle of the screen.

The new DeX app also allows users to control Galaxy smartphones with the same mouse used for the Galaxy Book, making things a lot more seamless.

3) What are the Ways to Improve Battery life of Smartphones?

Ans) * Turn off the Always On display
* Turn on the Power Saving Mode
* Turn on Dark Mode
* Turn off GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Mobile Data, Hotspot
* Close power-draining apps
* Close any background processes
* Turn off automatic synchronization
* Adjust your screen brightness
* Disable unnecessary notifications
* Turn off Haptics and Vibration
* Check for software updates

4) How to Turn off haptics and vibration to save battery of the phone ?

Ans) Haptics and vibration use a lot of battery power, so it’s essential to know how to turn them off when you don’t need them. In the One UI 5 settings, you can find the options to turn off vibration under the “Sounds and Vibration” category.

To turn off the vibration, click on the following and drag the intensity slider(s) to the left.

* Call vibration
* Notification vibration
* System vibration
* Vibration intensity

Make sure to also turn off all the vibration options under System vibration. Once you turn off the vibration, you’ll notice a difference in your phone’s battery life. So, the next time you’re worried about your battery dying, turn off haptics and vibration in the One UI settings.

5) How to Turn off Auto Sync to save battery of the phone ?

Ans) One UI comes with an “auto sync” feature, which constantly checks for new emails, social media notifications, and other updates even when you’re not using your phone.
This causes the battery to drain faster than you would want. Fortunately, there’s an easy way to fix this battery drainage issue.

All you have to do is turn off auto sync on your phone. Here’s how:

* Open the Settings app on your Samsung phone.
* Tap on the “Accounts and backup” option. You may not find the exact name so try to find a similar option in the settings. You can also search “auto sync” using the search bar.
* Tap “Manage accounts.”
* Turn off the “Auto-sync data” toggle.

That’s it! Once you’ve turned off auto sync, your phone will no longer sync data automatically, and as a result, your battery life will improve.

6) How To close background processes in One UI 5 ?

Ans) *Tap the recent apps button or use the gesture to reveal the recent apps screen.
* Tap on “x apps active in the background” on the top-right of the screen, where x is the number of apps active in the background.
* A small menu box with a list of currently active apps will appear at the bottom of your screen.
* If you don’t need an app to run in the background, tap the “Stop” button to close it.
By closing background processes, you can significantly improve your battery life. Follow along for more tips to fix the One UI 5 battery drain issue.

7) How to Turn off the Always On display?

Ans) You may have noticed the Always On display feature on your Galaxy phone. This is an excellent feature if you always want to see the time, date, and other information at a glance, but it can be a battery drain if you don’t need it. Here’s how to turn it off.

* Open the Settings app and search for Always-On display.
* Tap on the first search result.
* Please tap on the toggle next to the Always On display to turn it off.

If you still want to have the Always On display without compromising battery life, you can set the Always On display to turn on only when you tap the screen, or a new notification pops up.

You can schedule the Always On display to turn on during a specific time. Always On display is a great feature, but it can be a battery drain if you don’t need it. You can save battery life by turning it off or customizing the settings.

8) How to Turn on the Power Saving Mode to save phones battery ?

Ans) You can consider turning on the Power Saving Mode to reduce battery drain in One UI 5. Doing so can help eke out a bit more battery life when you need it.

To turn on Power Saving Mode in One UI, head to Settings > Device maintenance > Battery. From here, you can enable Power Saving Mode or schedule it to turn on automatically at a certain percentage.

You can also enable it from the quick settings menu. When Power Saving Mode is turned on, certain features will be restricted to save power. For example, the Always On display may be turned off, and performance may be reduced. But these trade-offs can be worth it if you need to save battery life.

Enabling Power Saving Mode in One UI can help you save battery life when you need it most. This feature can surely help fix the One UI 5 battery drain issue to a certain extent.

9) How to Turn on Dark Mode to save phone battery ?

Ans) While there are many ways to help fix the battery drain issue in One UI 5, one under-utilized feature is dark mode. The dark mode is a setting that can be enabled on most phones that changes the phone’s colour scheme to darker tones.

Why is dark mode suitable for your battery? The answer has to do with your phone’s screen. You are telling your phone to turn on fewer pixels by turning on dark mode. This means your phone’s battery will last longer because it doesn’t use as much power to light up the screen. So, turn on dark mode, and you should see an improvement in your smartphone’s battery life.

10) How to Turn off GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Mobile Data, Hotspot to save phone battery ?

Ans) GPS can be a huge battery drainer, so by turning it off, you can eke out a bit more life from your phone. If you don’t need Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, turn them off. Mobile data is another giant battery hog, so turn it off if you don’t need it. The hotspot feature on your phone can also use up a lot of battery, so if you don’t need it, turn it off.
Turning off these features allows you to get more battery life out of your phone. So if you’re low on battery, turn off these features to save some power.

Apple iPhone 15 button design to get revamped: here’s how it could be different from the button less design

0
Apple iPhone 15

HIGHLIGHTS

* Apple is reportedly planning to change the button design on the iPhone 15 series.
* The high-end iPhone 15 Pro could feature a redesigned mute button.
* Rumours also suggested a single-button design but it has been reportedly scrapped.

Apple will be launching a new iPhone series in the fall and the rumour mill is already busy with every little detail on the devices. The current buzz is on the iPhone 15’s button design which is expected to go through some changes.

Earlier rumours suggested a single volume button design for the iPhone 15 but a new report says Apple might stick with the old design. Apple is also expected to redesign the mute button on the iPhone 15.

Apple iPhone 15

Apple was reportedly planning to use solid-state buttons for the iPhone 15 series which meant a single button design for the volume controls.

The solid-state button was reportedly planned for the high-end iPhone 15 Pro models, and it would feature the Taptic Engine for a physical click feedback. The solid-state button design would still have the separator but it won’t be as distinctive as the current design. The decision to revert to the older design is due to the solid-state buttons getting delayed, according to a report by MacRumors.

iPhone 15 mute Button Redesign

Apple iPhone 15

Another change that Apple is planning to make is the mute button on the iPhone 15. The current models use a slider design that basically puts the phone on silent mode. On the iPhone 15 series we could see a new design and functionality for the mute button.

It could be similar to the Action button on the Apple Watch Ultra, the report added. The Action button sits on the left side of the Apple Watch Ultra and it can be customised to do different tasks.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 15 Pro is still in the Engineer Validation Test (EVT) stage so the final design isn’t confirmed and could change too. Apple isn’t ditching the solid-state concept altogether and is instead expected to use it on the iPhone 16 series. However, it’s still too early to say what we’ll eventually see on the iPhones and there could be more changes in the coming months.

Since there’s still months to go for the iPhone 15 series launch we should be getting more clarity on how the new iPhones will be different this year.

Apple iPhone 15

Earlier, some new renders emerged that gave us a better idea of how redesigned volume and mute buttons might look on Apple’s upcoming Pro models. However, a subsequent update to the original report now claims that Apple is backing away from switching to a lone volume button. Instead, the iPhone 15 will reportedly feature two volume buttons just like the iPhone 14 Pro.

The original renders published by MacRumors were based on information provided by a leaker posting under the name Unknownz21 at Twitter. They show off an iPhone 15 Pro design with a single volume button stretching down the left side of the phone. Just above that volume control is another button that would silence your phone.

A glance at the current iPhone design reveals what a departure that would have been.
Current models use separate buttons to raise and lower the volume instead of a single elongated control. And iPhones currently use a switch, not a button to mute the phone.

Apple iPhone 15

Interestingly, the MacRumors renders of the iPhone 15 Pro depicted a thin line halfway down the volume button. Presumably, that’s there to give users both a visual and physical cue as to which side of the volume rocker will raise or lower audio.

Unfortunately, it seems like the above render will be the only place we seen an iPhone 15 Pro with a unified volume button. The original MacRumors report now says that Apple is sticking with the current volume button design, though it is planning on switching to a button for muting the phone.

It’s a time of upheaval for rumors about iPhone 15 Pro buttons, as some analysts have cast doubt on whether the new phone will feature solid-state buttons, as had been rumored.

Apple iPhone 15

A report from the usually reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says it’s not going to happen for the iPhone 15 Pro, and another analyst, Jeff Pu, echoes those claims. The suggestion is that the new design is too complex and requires more haptic engines, which means Apple might not be ready to include it on an iPhone until 2024.

Another leaker doesn’t buy that. As spotted by WccfTech, a tweet from someone calling themselves analyst941 insists we’re getting solid-state buttons this year. “The iPhone 15 Pro’s [sic] will still have capacitive touch buttons, contrary to rumors, the development team is working too closely with new hardware to turn back now, ” the leaker tweeted. “The components are ready and it’s too late for that nonsense.”

Apple iPhone 15

Another part of the MacRumors report which contends the sides of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max as well as those buttons will be made from titanium. That’s the same material Apple uses on the Apple Watch Ultra and it should be more durable than the stainless steel that’s included in Apple’s current Pro phones.

All of this sounds like it’s part of Apple’s effort to make the iPhone 15 Pro models stand out from the rest of the iPhone 15 lineup. We’re already expecting those phones to get a more powerful A17 Bionic chipset while the iPhone 15 Pro Max may feature a periscope-style telephoto lens for improved zoom capabilities.

Faqs on IPhone 15 Pro

1) iPhone 15 Pro: here’s what’s expected?

Ans) According to a recent report , IPhone 15 pro appears to feature a redesigned titanium clamshell body, with smoother edges at the corners and towards the display.

The smartphone body has a smoother integration with the display, with the glass featuring a slight curvature that merges into the titanium shell.

This gives the iPhone 15 Pro super slim bezels that are 1.55mm all around, while the device retains the same pill-shaped Dynamic Island notch that was introduced on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max lineups.

The redesigning of the titanium body of the iPhone 15 Pro gives the device total width of 70.46mm — down from 71.45mm on the predecessor.

While this makes it slimmer by about a millimeter, the same will likely not reflect in the in-hand feel.

What could, however, are the smoother edges on the phone. Apart from this, the iPhone 15 Pro is tipped to feature even larger rear cameras, which will feature new sensors that can “capture more light and reduce over and underexposure” — as per the leaked post. This appears to be different from the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will seemingly feature a periscope lens for telephoto optical zoom.

Other key new features include haptic volume buttons and the mute slider to the left, and finally, the switch to a USB Type-C charging port instead of Apple’s proprietary Lightning port.

The leaked post claims that Apple will allow fast charging only through select, certified USB-C cables, all of which remains to be seen.

Finally, the iPhone 15 Pro is tipped to get a Deep Red colour variant, which has been expected for a while now.

2) Where are the bezels?

Ans) Bezels will be shrunk this year again, with tighter borders all around the screen. They’ll measure at a mere 1.55mm, which could be among the thinnest in the industry. Android Phones have lately been winning at the bezels game but Apple is seemingly poised to reclaim its champion status.

If bezels are shrunk even as the screen size is retained, by physics the phone should grow marginally smaller.

The iPhone 15 Pro is indeed an itsy-bitsy more portable than the iPhone 14 Pro, with the former’s dimensions standing at 70.46 x 146.47 x 8.24mm versus the latter’s 71.45 x 147.46mm x 7.84mm.

3) Does the iPhone 15 pro say Goodbye to buttons ?

Ans) The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max may be completely button-less if rumours are to be believed.

Users will instead perform the associated actions using solid-state haptic buttons. The clicky feel will be emulated with two dedicated haptic engines that will probably be situated under the buttons.

4) Does the iPhone 15 pro design say Goodbye to Lightning ports?

Ans) Apple is also very much expected to finally ditch the Lightning port in favour of the glorious (and more universal) USB-C port with the iPhone 15 series.
We hope that this will translate to faster charging speeds.

5) Does Titanium frame = lighter build in the upcoming iPhone 15 pro ?

Ans) Probably the biggest upgrade in terms of design – and thus also the most noticeable – will be the new titanium frame. The frame is apparently returning to the rounded-edged design, albeit in a very subtle manner.

It doesn’t look like a very strong curve but should help make the phone a lot comfier in hand.

The use of titanium is also interesting since the iPhones have featured stainless steel for a while now.

Titanium is a remarkably light material with an excellent strength-to-weight ratio.
It should finally help shave off several grams off the Pro models, which of late are getting dangerously close to tablet territory weight-wise.

6) Have the Cameras grown even thicker in the new IPhone 15 pro ?

Ans) Apple has once again increasing the size of the cameras on the iPhone 15 Pro. The bump has grown even thicker than it already was, with CAD files revealing that the lens protrusion has doubled since last year.

On the one hand, this will definitely not help with stability when the phone’s placed on a table.

But on the other, it suggests that Apple is stuffing the iPhone 15 Pro with significant camera upgrades.

Rumours seem to agree, saying that the phone will “capture more light and reduce overexposure or underexposure in certain settings.”

Ans) The Vivo X Fold 2 is set to make its debut in China on April 20. Ahead of the official launch, the foldable phone is listed on Geekbench. It has the model number V2266A. As per the listing, the phone draws power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The flagship Qualcomm SoC has a peak clock speed of 3.19GHz. It looks like the X Fold 2 will be the first foldable phone in the world to feature the flagship SoC from Qualcomm.

The variant of the X Fold 2 listed on Geekbench has 12GB of RAM. We can expect it to offer 256GB or 512GB of storage. The device can be seen running Android 13 out of the box. Since it is launching in China, the X Fold 2 will have the Origin OS 3 skin on top of Android. If the company chooses to launch the phone globally, it is likely to get Funtouch OS 13 on top of Android.

The X Fold 2 scored 1809 and 5050 points in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests. The company has confirmed that the foldable phone has a circular camera module on the back. There is a triple-camera setup with an LED flash module. The foldable phone is said to feature a 50MP Sony IMX866 main camera with support for optical image stabilisation. There will also be a 12MP Sony IMX663 ultra-wide camera and a 12MP Sony IMX663 telephoto/ portrait camera. For selfies, the phone will feature a 32MP front camera on the cover display and another 32MP camera on the foldable display.

In terms of display, the X Fold 2 is tipped to sport an 8.03-inch Samsung E6 AMOLED display with a 2160 x 1916-pixel resolution. There will be a hole-punch cutout at the top right corner for the front camera.
