The Google Pixel 8 Pro and the Pixel 8 are set to launch on October 4. Pixel 8 Pro’s design was revealed by the Google store website a few days back before the official launch.

Pixel 8 Pro will be launched as the successor to last year’s Pixel 7 Pro, the upcoming flagship smartphone that will take on Apple’s purported iPhone 15 Pro models and Samsung’s flagship handset that is expected to debut in the coming months.

Google revealed the colour options for the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro, which is shown to feature a SIM tray — previous reports said that the phone would debut with only eSIM support.

On Wednesday, Google revealed the Pixel 8 Pro via the company’s Pixel Phone Simulator website, according to screenshots and screen recordings shared by users on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Google has put online the 360-degree simulator which shows the Pixel 8 Pro’s front and back design.
The website reveals the various sensors and ports of the phone ahead of the next month’s launch.
The listing was first spotted by José Rubén and shared by Mishaal Rahman.

According to the now-defunct entry for the Pixel 8 Pro on the simulator website, the handset will be available in three colour options — Licorice, Porcelain, and Sky.

The smartphone will feature a punch-hole cutout at the centre of the screen which will house the selfie camera.

The power and volume keys will be located on the right edge of the handset. On the backside, the device will feature a triple-camera setup accompanied by an LED flash.
The handset will also have a temperature sensor on the rear side.

The Pixel Phone Simulator website showed off the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro’s rear camera module that includes three cameras just like last year’s Pixel flagship — this year’s model has all three cameras located inside the same cutout on the raised camera module.

Just like other Pixel models that have already been released, the website also allowed users to select a component of the handset and view details alongside a visual representation.

Thanks to the simulator, we now know that the Pixel 8 Pro will support at least one physical SIM card — an earlier report suggested that the phone would only offer eSIM support like Apple’s iPhone 14 series models in the US.

A separate image shared by leakster Evan Blass also shows the Pixel 8 Pro in Sky colour. The image shared by Blass discloses the singular cutout for the camera, a LED flash, and a temperate sensor.

The previous leak suggests that the Pixel 8 Pro will feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device is expected to pack a Tensor G3 chipset and a Titan security chip.

The smartphone is said to pack up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. For security the phone will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor as revealed by the listing.

The device is expected to feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS support, a 64MP ultra-wide lens, and a 48MP telephoto camera. For the selfies the phone should feature an 11MP camera.
The device is said to pack a 4,950mAh battery which could support 27W wired fast charging and 24W wireless charging.

The Pixel 8 on the other hand is expected to feature a 6.17-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution, Tensor G3 chipset, 50MP dual-camera setup, 11MP selfie camera, and a 4,485mAh battery.
Alongside the Pixel 8 lineup, Google is also expected to introduce the Pixel Watch 2.

The smartwatch is rumoured to offer four new watch faces and a 383×384 pixel resolution.
The smartwatch is expected to come with 2GB of RAM and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 chipset.

This isn’t the first time that Google has leaked its upcoming handset on its own — last week, it revealed the Pixel 8 Pro in a Porcelain colourway on the Google Store website in the US.

A recent report claims that Google is planning to boost software support for its next generation of Pixel phones by offering up to five years of operating system updates.

This would bring Google’s OS update support window on par with Apple, which also offers around five OS updates for all its smartphones.

The price of the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to increase this year.
The Pixel 7 Pro launched at Rs 84,999. Meanwhile other brands are also gearing up for their next-gen flagship phones. Apple will also launch the iPhone 15 series on September 12.
