Apple Beats Studio Buds+ with Nothing-inspired futuristic transparent design launched globally With Improved Performance And Better Battery Life: Price, Features & Specifications

Apple Beats Studio Buds+

HIGHLIGHTS

* Apple has unveiled Beats Studio Buds+ with several interesting features.
* The earbuds come in three colour options – Black/Gold, Ivory, and Transparent.
* The Beats Studio Buds+ are equipped with IPX4 sweat and water resistance.

Tech giant Apple has launched the brand-new Beats Studio Buds+ globally. The earbuds are the follow-up to the Beats Studio Buds, which were released in 2021.

It has a transparent design option inspired by the Nothing Ear (1), active noise cancellation (ANC), improved battery life, and a lot more.

After several leaks and rumors, Apple’s subsidiary, Beats, has launched the new Beats Studio Buds Plus earbuds.

These earbuds are the successor to the Beats Studio Buds, which were released almost two years ago.

As a generational upgrade, they come with new and improved features. But the main highlight of the Beats Studio Buds Plus is their design.

They are available in a cool new transparent version.
The trend of transparent earbuds was initiated by Nothing’s first product, the Ear (1).
It appears that even an Apple subsidiary has taken some inspiration from it.

Apple subsidiary Beats has launched all-new TWS earphones – Studio Buds+. This time, it comes transparent – so you can see through it.

Apart from being transparent, it offers a range of features, to name a few, better noise cancellation and longer battery life.

Apple last experimented something similar with iMac G3 in the late 1990s with a translucent see-through.

That Apple move inspired Nintendo to launch translucent Gameboys.
But, the spell didn’t last any longer and it faded away with time.

Apart from this, in current times, another consumer tech firm that attempted to repopularise the trend is Carl Pei’s Nothing with its Nothing Buds and also Nothing Phone (1). It flaunted a see-through panel on the back with glyph lighting attached to it.

Check out how much the Beats Studio Buds+ cost and what they can do.

Beats Studio Buds+ Price, Availability

Apple Beats Studio Buds+

The all-new Beats Studio Buds+ is available for USD $169.99 (approx Rs 14,000) in the US. The earbuds come in three colour options – Black/Gold, Ivory, and Transparent. Currently, there is no information available about its India availability.

Beats Studio Buds+ Design

Apple Beats Studio Buds+

The most noticeable change to the Beats Studio Buds+ is its appearance. The new Transparent colour stands out, but the Black with Gold accents and Ivory colours also look great. The design of the Transparent reminds us of what Nothing has been doing with the Nothing Ear (1) and Nothing Ear (2). Nothing has made some of its devices with totally clear outer surfaces. Beats’ transparency isn’t quite as clear, but it covers almost the whole outside.

Beats Studio Buds+ Features

Apple Beats Studio Buds+

With ANC switched off, the Beats Studio Buds+ guarantees up to 36 hours of overall battery life (9-hour earphones + 27-hour charging case).

Fast charging is available and provides an hour of battery life with only five minutes of charge, but it does not support wireless charging.

The “b” button on each earbud has been changed to make it less likely to be pressed by mistake and feel more solid.

The button still lets you play and stop music with a single press, skip forward or backward with two presses, or skip forward or backward with three presses.

Apple Beats Studio Buds+

The press-and-hold feature enables the user to switch between ANC and Transparency mode. Additionally, it can be customized to activate a voice assistant or adjust the volume.

The call handling feature can be personalized to end a call with either one or two presses.
In addition to ANC and Transparency, Apple Music’s Spatial Audio material works with Beats Studio Buds +. However, they don’t have the immersive head-tracking feature found on the Beats Fit Pro and some AirPods models.

The Beats Studio Buds+ are equipped with a unique second-generation “Beats Proprietary Platform” that provides similar functionalities to Apple’s chips. These features include “Hey Siri” and Find My support, automatic device switching through iCloud, and other capabilities.

The Beats Studio Buds+ are equipped with IPX4 sweat and water resistance, making them suitable for use during workouts and in various weather conditions.

Each bud weighs 5 grams and has three sizes of silicone ear tips. They are sweat and water-resistant with an IPX4 rating.

Ans) The inside of the earbuds has received some big improvements over the 2021 model.
The most notable is the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency mode.
Beats say the ANC is 1.6 times better than before.

This is due to three times larger microphones and a new venting system.
Its Transparency mode is also claimed to be two times better than before.

Although owned by Apple, the earbuds are powered by Beats’ own proprietary chip, called the Beats Proprietary Platform.
This chip allows the earbuds to work with both Android and iOS devices seamlessly.

Ans) It is situated in Cupertino, California.

8) Beats Studio Buds + announced with a fresh look, upgraded internals, and 50 percent better battery life.Details?

Ans) On first look, the Beats Studio Buds + looks identical to the previous version but offers some new color options. You will get a transparent version which will possibly be the most selling option. Apart from this, the earbuds are available in Black color with gold accents and an Ivory option with black accents. The transparent version reminds us of Nothing Ear 1, but the outer shell is not as clear as Nothing’s offering. Even the ear tips are transparent, which is a major plus for a seamless design.

As mentioned earlier, the design is pretty much identical to the previous version, but the internals are completely revamped. According to Beats, 95 percent of the internals in the Beats Studio Buds + are brand-new. The upgraded internals includes 3x larger microphones for capturing improved sound with a new mic port and a venting design. The wearable features the same IPX4 sweat and water resistance rating for everyday use.

The new Beats Studio Buds + feature a custom “Beats Proprietary Platform” chip that features support for touch pairing with Apple devices. Furthermore, it includes Hey Siri, Find My support, and device switching through iCloud. The wearable also features Google’s Fast Pair, and Google Find My tracking, as well as switching between a wide range of devices.

In terms of sound quality and other features, the new Beats Studio Buds + feature enhanced Active Noise Cancellation with voice pickup during phone calls, all thanks to the larger microphone. The earbuds also come with support for spatial audio and Dolby Atmos for enhanced sound quality. Overall the quality of the wearable has improved throughout. While the company did not change the design, the new finish and color options are a welcome addition.

Battery life has improved a lot on the Beats Studio Buds +, offering up to 9 hours with Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode turned off. The case also provides 27 hours of additional battery, which stretches the total to 36 hours on a single charge. The battery life is 50 percent better than the previous version. The case also features a USB-C port that can charge from zero to a hundred in two hours.

BGMI Unban: Date rumors intensify once again after reports claims game’s return for 90 Days with conditions; Global Esports CEO Tweets a Likely Tease About the Return of the Battle Royale

0
Bgmi Unban India

Highlights

* Before BGMI, Krafton’s highly-popular PUBG Mobile also got banned in the country over security reasons.
* The new report states that BGMI would not be available to players 24×7.
* There might be some time-limit and restrictions on hours of playing.
* BGMI might make a possible comeback in India soon, according to a new report.
* This will however be a temporary lifting of the ban on BGMI in India.
* The battle royale mobile game will still be under strict monitoring during its comeback period.

BGMI unban might be coming sooner than we expected if the latest report by News18 is to be believed.

The News18report states that the government of India has decided to lift the ban on the popular online multiplayer battle royal game in India for three months.

BGMI Unban

For the uninitiated, the game was banned in the country in July 2022 by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), as per the requests made by MHA.

Soon after, the game was removed from Google Play Store and App Store on 28 July, causing a massive uproar in the BGMI fanbase in India. This new BGMI unban report is good news for its fans in the country.

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) may return to India soon, at least temporarily. According to News18 via government sources, BGMI would be available for three months (90 days) testing period, during which authorities will closely “monitor the app to check if it violates India’s rules.” The app will likely be available without restrictions if authorities suspect no foul play during the testing period.

BGMI Unban

Developed and distributed by South Korea-based Krafton, BGMI got banned in India in July 2022 due to security issues. Before BGMI, Krafton’s highly-popular PUBG Mobile also got banned in the country for similar reasons. Around the same time, the government banned several apps from China to protect national security.

The new report states that BGMI would not be available to players 24×7 as there might be some time-limit and restrictions on hours of playing.

The company has reportedly told the government that there would be
”no blood” in the action game, or at least the colour might be changed. Interestingly, Krafton already changed the colour of blood to green in BGMI after the PUBG Mobile ban. It remains unclear how the blood will be depicted in BGMI if the ban gets lifted. The report points out.

BGMI Unban

A “top-level official” told the publication that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) would “soon issue an order to unblock the app from e-stores.

In March, a report also suggested BGMI’s potential return under similar strict restrictions. The government has also reportedly asked the developers to tweak the game settings and UI (user interface) to prevent smartphone and gaming addiction. This is likely due to a murder case in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where a teenager allegedly shot his mother dead after she stopped him from playing BGMI.

Similarly, Krafton has also told India Today Tech that the company is working with the government to bring BGMI back to India. The company still views India as a potential market. Krafton has launched a bunch of smartphones and PC games in the country even after BGMI and PUBG ban.

BGMI Unban

In April, independent studio RisingWings under Krafton launched Defense Derby in India, which is quite different from the battle royale-style BGMI. Before that, the company launched Road to Valor Empires developed by Dreamotion and Callisto Protocol for PCs.

Despite PUBG and BGMI ban in India, battle royale-style mobile games are still polular in the country as there have been some popular alternatives. Currently, many fans are turning to Call of Duty Mobile following Garena Free Fire ban and the shut down of Apex Legends Mobile.

BGMI is Temporarily Coming Back to India for 90 Days

BGMI Unban

Before it got banned in July 2022, Krafton announced that Battleground Mobile India had surpassed 100 million registered users in India. Notably, India was one of the biggest markets for the online multiplayer battle royale game.

Therefore, when it was banned due to suspicious activities, there was a huge uproar among esports enthusiasts and fans of the game. Krafton even put in massive efforts to resume services in India but has yet to be successful. The game was removed from the Play Store and App Store in late July.

It seems that Krafton never gave up on its efforts to make a comeback had also triggered crimes, including murders, across the country.

According to a top-level official, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) will soon issue an order to unblock the app from e-stores.

BGMI Unban

Sources also said the competent authority in Ministry of Home Affairs has accorded conditional approval to unblock BGMI for analysis and re-evaluation.

During this period, authorities will monitor the app to check if it violates India’s rules. In case of any adverse activities, the app will see a ban again, the senior official told Industry sources.

It is expected that the game will return with multiple changes to follow the law of the land as assured by the makers.

According to sources, players will not be able to engage with the game 24×7 as there will be a time limit and restrictions on hours of playing.

The company has also told government officials that there will be no blood in the game as they will change its colour. In the last edition, there was a choice to change the colour of blood from red to blue and green during firing but now, the change will be the default setting.

BGMI Unban

Faqs on BGMI

1) What was the Intel Report That Triggered Ban?

Ans) In August, News18 had revealed that it was a report by a central intelligence agency and communication from the Ministry of Home Affairs to MeitY that triggered a ban on the popular battle royale game. The report talked about violations that can create cyber threats by harvesting user data for profiling to carry out targeted cyber-attacks on Indian users.

It also talked about the App’s various issues but most pertinent among them was the fact that it was communicating with servers directly or indirectly located in China. Sources also confirmed that other apps were also used which have “re-branded” are also communicating with servers in China .

The government of India has decided to temporarily lift the ban on BGMI for three months, according to a report by News18. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) plans to issue an order to unblock BGMI from Google Play Store and App Store, the report added. The publication states that this information came from a top-level MeitY official.

This will however be more of a testbed for BGMI in India as the game will be under analysis and monitoring during the three-month period. Also, if the app is found violating any of the country’s rules then it will be banned again.

BGMI is said to come back with more changes and adjustments. Rumours suggest that there will be a time limit and restrictions on the number of hours one can play the game. Krafton also plans to reduce violent graphics in the game by changing the colour of blood in the game. When BGMI was available in India, players could change the colour of blood to red and green, but now that’s going to be set by default.

There’s still no official announcement from Krafton or the centre on the comeback of BGMI in India and such reports have been floating around for months. But even with its ban lifted, it’s interesting to see how BGMI manages to continue operating in India considering the radar it will be under and conditions it would have to agree on. BGMI was one of the most popular battle royale games in India with over 100 million users here.

2) What is BGMI Unban Date 2023?

Ans) As mentioned earlier, the title will go through several changes to abide by the rules of India. Previously, we mentioned that there would be no blood shown in the game. Gamers would not be able to play the game 24×7. KRAFTON also assured such things to the government and hence, the return of the title is looking imminent.

Meanwhile, there are no mentions of any specific dates. Hence, we can share any exact unban dates if BGMI, However, looking at the reports, we can expect the title to come back very soon.

The Indian government suspended the title when they found the its server interacting with Chinese servers. During that time, there were numerous reports claiming the app triggering crimes, including murders, across the country.

3) What is The rumour mill around the return of BGMI?

Ans) Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) remains banned in India since last year. There have been plenty of rumours lately, most of which stem from the comments made by various esports players and content creators. One of the rumours by Nauman Mulla, the co-founder and COO of STAN, outlined that BGMI won’t come to the market for next six months.

While the rumour mill was certainly churning at full speed, nothing concrete has come out of it, such as a release date, a teaser and let alone the official BGMI unban announcement. IGN India reached out to Krafton to get clarification on the situation. We will update the copy if and when we receive a response from the company.

It remains to be seen if the comments by the Global Esports CEO have any substance after all that we’ve seen in the last couple of months. The following tweet by AFK Gaming co-founder Nishant Patel (ClouDx) sums up the recent BGMI rumour.

Apple previews useful accessibility features coming to iOS 17 Ahead of WWDC: Assistive Access, Personal Voice, Live Speech & More

0
iOS 17

HIGHLIGHTS

* Apple’s new accessbility feature will let people create a personalised voice that sounds like their natural voice.
* This feature is aimed at helping people who are at risk of losing their ability to speak.
* It has also announced another feature that will let users type a message and have it spoken out loud.

Apple today previewed some new accessibility features that will appear in iOS 17. Assistive Access filters certain apps down to their most “essential features” to help those who have cognitive disabilities.

With Assistive Access, customized Phone, FaceTime, Messages, Camera, Photos, and Music experiences are all combined into a single Calls app. High-contrast buttons and large text labels are used

For iPhone users who would rather communicate visually, the Messages app includes an emoji-only QWERTY and the ability to record a video message to send to loved ones. Additionally, with Assistive Access, users can select between a grid-based home screen layout that is more visual and a row-based layout for those who find it easier to process text.

With Live Speech, which will be available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, during phone calls and FaceTime calls a user can type what he wants to say and have it spoken out loud by his device so that it can be heard by the other parties on the voice or video call.

Phrases often repeated by the user can be saved and quickly inserted into conversations with friends, family, and co-workers. Apple points out that Live Speech is “designed to support millions of people globally who are unable to speak or who have lost their speech over time.”

iOS 17

For those in danger of losing their voice (as Apple notes, it could be a person who has recently been diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) or has a disease that progressively makes it harder to talk, a feature called Personal Voice will have them reading a random set of text for about 15 minutes on an iPhone or iPad.

This feature integrates with the aforementioned Live Speech so that an iPhone or iPad user who has lost his/her voice can still talk with others using a recorded version of their voice.

Another accessibility feature called “Point and Speak in Magnifier” helps those with visual disabilities read text labels on the buttons used to run household items.

Using the rear camera, the LiDAR Scanner, and on-device machine learning, the user can focus his or her iPhone camera on the control panel of a microwave oven for example, and as the user moves his fingers over the image of a button on the touchscreen, the iPhone will announce the text associated with that button.

This will help those who can’t see well still have control over some portions of their lives.

Apple has announced a new feature that will let people who are at risk of losing their ability to speak create a voice that sounds like them. ‘Personal Voice’ is part of a series of accessibility features that Apple previewed earlier today.

These features are slated to release later this year, most likely with the iOS 17 update.

iOS 17 Features

iOS 17

* Quality of life improvements
* Mood tracking
* Revamped Control Center
* Sideloading in Europe
* AR/VR Headset integration
* CarPlay Updates

Personal Voice Feature

iOS 17

Personal Voice is aimed at helping people with conditions such as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) that put them at risk of losing their ability to speak. This feature essentially helps them create a personalised voice that will sound almost the same as their natural voice.

One can do so by reading out a randomised set of text prompts and recording it for 15 minutes on their iPhone or iPad. Apple says that this feature uses on-device learning so the users’ information is private and secure.

How Personal Voice works?

Apple iOS 17

So how does Personal Voice work? It synchronises with Live Speech, another new accessibility feature that lets users type a message and have it spoken out loud during phone, FaceTime calls, and in-person conversations as well. Users also have the ability to save commonly used phrases so it’s easier to just drop them during their conversations.

Live Speech has been designed for people who are unable to speak or for people who cannot speak anymore. Personal Voice is integrated with Live Speech so the voice prompts that go out are in their synthesised voice.

More iOS 17 Features in accessibility

iOS 17

* Apple’s new set of features also include ‘Assistive Access‘ that creates a new and more convenient interface with high contrast buttons and large text labels. Here, the Phone and FaceTime are combined into one single app. It keeps only the widely used apps like Messages, Camera, Photos and Music. Users have the option to go for a grid-based layout or a row-based layout for those who prefer text.

* To help users who prefer communicating visually, the Messages app has an emoji-only keyboard and the option to record a video message.

* Apple has also added Point and Speak in the Magnifier app on iPhone and iPad. This feature will make it easier for people with vision disabilities to identify physical objects easily. It uses input from the camera, the LiDAR Scanner and on-device machine learning to read out the text on physical objects, a microwave for example. As users move their finger over each text, the iPhone or iPad will read out what’s written on it.

* There are a couple of more accessibility features such as the ability to pair Made for iPhone hearing devices directly to Mac and further customise them for their hearing comfort. Then there’s Voice Control that adds phonetic suggestions for users who type with their voice so they can use the correct sounding word.

* Users can also now pause GIFs in Safari and Messages.

iOS 17

These are all useful features that we might hear more about when Apple previews iOS 17 at WWDC on June 5th. Apple CEO Tim Cook says, “At Apple, we’ve always believed that the best technology is technology built for everyone.

Today, we’re excited to share incredible new features that build on our long history of making technology accessible, so that everyone has the opportunity to create, communicate, and do what they love.”

Faqs on iOS 17

1) What is iOS 17 Overview?

Ans) We’re a couple months away from the June 5 unveiling of the iOS 17 operating system, but we know a limited amount of information about the update because Apple is already working on the software.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, iOS 17 will include some of the “most requested features” that users have been wanting, so it may be more significant than was initially thought. Other reliable sources that spoke to MacRumors have highlighted other prospective features such as Control Center updates, active widgets, a revamped Dynamic Island, and more.

Apple initially aimed to make iOS 17 a “tuneup” update focused on fixing bugs and improving performance, but now it will include several “nice to have features.” It won’t, however, have a main “tentpole feature” like the revamped Lock Screen we saw in iOS 16 as Apple has focused a lot of its resources on development of the xrOS operating system designed to run on the AR/VR headset. Apple still plans to make important bug fixes and boost performance, but there will be some fun features to look forward to.

2) What are iOS 17 Features?

Ans) Control Center

iOS 17 could feature “major” changes to the built-in Control Center, according to a source on the MacRumors forums that has accurately predicted Apple’s plans in the past.
A revamped Control Center is expected to be one of the more prominent changes coming to iOS 17, but as of right now, there is no information on what specific changes are in the works beyond “UI” and “customization.”

The Control Center has not seen a notable update since the launch of iOS 11 in 2017.

Journaling App

Apple is developing a journaling app that’s designed to allow users to track and record their activities and thoughts through a log of their daily lives. According to The Wall Street Journal, the app will analyze user behavior to determine what a typical day is like, including how much time is spent at home and whether a day included something outside the norm.
It will suggest potential topics that a user might want to write about, and it will be able to detect friends that are nearby. The app will be able to integrate with text messages and phone calls, but all data and daily analysis will be done on device. The journaling app could be introduced with iOS 17.

Dynamic Island

Apple is said to be improving Dynamic Island so that it is able to “do a lot more.” Apple’s marketing department allegedly pressured the development team to add more functionality to the Dynamic Island as the more affordable iPhone 15 models will support the feature when they launch.

The on-screen Siri interface could be integrated into the Dynamic Island, for example, making the Siri pop-up less obtrusive on the iPhone. Relocating Siri to the Dynamic Island would let onscreen content stay in full view without the current circular Siri interface that overlays the screen.

Active Widgets

Apple is “testing” active widgets for the Home Screen and Today View on the iPhone, but the feature is “not confirmed by any means.” If implemented, active widgets could include one-tap buttons, sliders, and more, with the aim of making widgets more dynamic and interactive.

Improved Search and Spotlight

Notable improvements will be made to the system-wide search and Spotlight functions, though specifics were not made available.

Health App Updates

Apple is expanding the Health app to the iPad, which will make it available on both the iPhone and the iPad.

The Health app will also include a mood tracking function, which will let users keep track of their mood, answer questions about their day, and view the results over time. There will also be new features for users with vision issues like nearsightedness.

Lock Screen Updates

There may be some minor updates to the Lock Screen, including options to change the font size. People who create Lock Screen designs may be able to share them with other iPhone users with a new option for sharing custom Lock Screens.
It’s possible that the iPad could adopt iPhone-style Lock Screen customizations in iPadOS 17, allowing iPad owners to use Lock Screen widgets, customizable wallpapers, the customizable clock, and more.

The Lock Screen will allegedly feature a redesigned Live Activity interface for Apple Maps, with an interface that overtakes the entire display. The rumored design, which comes from an unverified source, suggests that Apple Maps will have detailed turn-by-turn directions that overlay much of the screen.

Apple Music Customizations

Apple Music is expected to get a simplified interface and Apple Music lyrics may be viewable directly on the Lock Screen.

App Library Folders

App Library folders will be able to be manually renamed, which is not something thats possible at the current time.

Flashlight Adjustments

Rather than being limited to three brightness levels, the flashlight brightness will be adjustable with a slider, similar to the volume button.

Wallet App

The Wallet app will receive updates, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, but we don’t know specifics on what’s coming.

According to leaker Analyst941, the Wallet app will feature a navigation bar at the bottom of the that separates the different functions available in the app. Cards, Cash, Keys, IDs, and Orders are listed categories.

Users will reportedly be able to swipe down to access a search interface to find a specific card or pass, and there’s a “Transactions” button. Compared to the current Wallet app design, this would be a functional improvement because it would make finding certain features like specific passes and order details simpler.

Find My

Amid an update to location information, there will be improvements to the Find My app and Find My-related functionality.

Performance and Stability

Improving performance, efficiency, and stability are main goals of the iOS 17 update. Apple will also work on long-term support for older devices. Early betas may be unstable on some devices that have 3GB RAM, but Apple is expected to improve stability significantly over the course of the beta testing period.

Support for the Mixed Reality Headset

Apple’s AR/VR headset will function on its own and will have its own App Store, but there will likely be some level of integration between the headset and the iPhone, even if it’s limited to Handoff.

All of Apple’s products interact with one another in various ways, and so we are expecting new headset-related features in iOS 17.

CarPlay Updates

At the 2022 Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple provided a preview of a new CarPlay experience that has deeper integration with vehicles, allowing for car functions like volume and the radio to be controlled through CarPlay.

Apple also plans to add widgets and support for multiple displays. The first vehicles with next-generation CarPlay integration are set to come in late 2023, which means that support will likely be built into iOS 17 or an iOS 17 update.

Support for Sideloading and Alternate App Stores
European legislation requires Apple to allow for sideloading starting in 2024, and Apple is planning to make changes starting in iOS 17.

Customers in Europe may be able to download apps without using the App Store in iOS 17, with Apple forced to let people use alternate installation means like third-party app stores. Developers would not need to pay Apple’s 15 to 30 percent fees for apps that customers install using alternate means, but Apple still plans to collect a fee.
To start with, the sideloading changes will be limited to customers in the European Union, but as other countries pass legislation similar to the the Digital Markets Act in Europe, Apple could expand the functionality.
The major changes that have to be made to implement sideloading support could potentially impact development on iOS 17 because of the engineering resources required.

Third-Party Browsers Without WebKit
Along with permitting third-party app stores, Apple in iOS 17 could allow third-party browsers to use their own engines by eliminating the WebKit requirement. Right now, third-party browsers like Chrome and Firefox must be built with Apple’s open source browser engine WebKit on iOS devices per Apple’s rules, but Europe’s Digital Markets Act prohibits Apple from forcing browsers to use WebKit.

Apple could make these changes solely in Europe, and it is not yet clear if the WebKit requirement will be lifted worldwide or just for browser apps developed for use in Europe.

Beta Limitations

With iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4, Apple changed the way that developer and public betas are installed on the iPhone and iPad. Profiles are no longer used to install the updates, with Apple instead requiring an Apple ID linked to either a developer account or an account that’s been signed up for the public beta.

This move will prevent non-developers from being able to install the iOS 17 beta through a shared developer profile, as every installation will be authenticated through an Apple ID associated with a developer account.

Unwanted Tracking Alert Update

Apple and Google in May 2022 submitted a proposed industry specification that would cut down on the use of Bluetooth trackers for unwanted tracking of people. Under this initiative, Apple will expand the AirTag-style tracking alerts to third-party item trackers, likely in a future update to iOS 17. Apple plans to introduce support for this feature by the end of 2023.

3) What is iOS 17 Release Date?

Ans) iOS 17 will be previewed at the Worldwide Developers Conference at the June 5 keynote event. After WWDC, iOS 17 will be made available to developers for testing purposes, with a public beta likely to come out sometime in July. Following the beta testing period, iOS 17 will see a launch in September 2023 alongside new iPhones.

4) Apple previews iOS 17 accessibility features: Assistive Access, Personal Voice and Live Speech, more.Details

Ans) Ahead of WWDC in June, Apple today has announced a range of new accessibility features coming to iPhone and iPad this year. The new features include a new “Assistive Access” interface option, Live Speech, Personal Voice Advance Speech, and more.

The first new feature announced by Apple today is called Assistive Access, and the company says this feature is meant to support users with cognitive disabilities.

Assistive Access uses innovations in design to distill apps and experiences to their essential features in order to lighten cognitive load. The feature reflects feedback from people with cognitive disabilities and their trusted supporters — focusing on the activities they enjoy — and that are foundational to iPhone and iPad: connecting with loved ones, capturing and enjoying photos, and listening to music.

Assistive Access includes a customized experience for Phone and FaceTime, which have been combined into a single Calls app, as well as Messages, Camera, Photos, and Music. The feature offers a distinct interface with high contrast buttons and large text labels, as well as tools to help trusted supporters tailor the experience for the individual they support.

For example, for users who prefer communicating visually, Messages includes an emoji-only keyboard and the option to record a video message to share with loved ones. Users and trusted supporters can also choose between a more visual, grid-based layout for their Home Screen and apps, or a row-based layout for users who prefer text.

Next up, Apple has announced a new feature called Live Speech. This allows iPhone, iPad, and Mac users to type what they want to say to have it be spoken out loud during phone and FaceTime calls as well as in-person conversations. Users can also save commonly used phrases to chime in quickly during lively conversation.

There’s also a new component to this feature called Personal Voice for users who are at risk of losing their ability to speak. Apple says that this feature is a “simple and secure way to create a voice that sounds like them.”

For users at risk of losing their ability to speak — such as those with a recent diagnosis of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) or other conditions that can progressively impact speaking ability — Personal Voice is a simple and secure way to create a voice that sounds like them.

Users can create a Personal Voice by reading along with a randomized set of text prompts to record 15 minutes of audio on iPhone or iPad. This speech accessibility feature uses on-device machine learning to keep users’ information private and secure and integrates seamlessly with Live Speech so users can speak with their Personal Voice when connecting with loved ones
Apple is also expanding the Detection features in the Magnifier app:

Point and Speak in Magnifier makes it easier for users with vision disabilities to interact with physical objects that have several text labels. For example, while using a household appliance — such as a microwave — Point and Speak combines input from the Camera app, the LiDAR Scanner, and on-device machine learning to announce the text on each button as users move their finger across the keypad.

Point and Speak is built into the Magnifier app on iPhone and iPad, works great with VoiceOver, and can be used with other Magnifier features such as People Detection, Door Detection, and Image Descriptions to help users navigate their physical environment.

Other new Accessibility announcements today from Apple:

* Deaf or hard-of-hearing users can pair Made for iPhone hearing devices directly to Mac and customize them for their hearing comfort.
* Voice Control adds phonetic suggestions for text editing so users who type with their voice can choose the right word out of several that might sound alike, like “do,” “due,” and “dew.” Additionally, with Voice Control Guide, users can learn tips and tricks about using voice commands as an alternative to touch and typing across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
* Users with physical and motor disabilities who use Switch Control can turn any switch into a virtual game controller to play their favorite games on iPhone and iPad.
* For users with low vision, Text Size is now easier to adjust across Mac apps such as Finder, Messages, Mail, Calendar, and Notes.
* Users who are sensitive to rapid animations can automatically pause images with moving elements, such as GIFs, in Messages and Safari.
* For VoiceOver users, Siri voices sound natural and expressive even at high rates of speech feedback; users can also customize the rate at which Siri speaks to them, with options ranging from 0.8x to 2x.
Apple says that all of these new software features are coming later this year.

Nothing Ear (2) vs AirPods Pro 2

HIGHLIGHTS

* Nothing CEO Carl Pei’s latest review is on the Apple AirPods Pro 2.
* Pei talks about what he likes and doesn’t like about the earbuds and also compares it with the Nothing Ear (2).
* Pei also gives his verdict on which wireless earbuds you should go for.
* Carl Pei has now added an Apple AirPods Pro 2 review to his sporadic line of YouTube tech review videos.
* Pei admits that he loves nearly everything about the latest Pro-level AirPods.
* He also says the Nothing Ear 2 offer a compelling alternative to Apple’s genre-defining products.

Carl Pei is the CEO of Nothing (and a co-founder of OnePlus, which he left in 2020), but that doesn’t keep him busy enough, apparently.

Pei has started posting semi-frequent YouTube videos in which he reviews popular products, most of which are direct competitors to Nothing devices. So far, we’ve seen him do an iPhone, a Galaxy S device, and even a OnePlus phone.

Now, Pei has posted his first review of an audio product. His Apple AirPods Pro 2 review just went live on the Nothing YouTube channel. We’ve mirrored the video above.

Nothing Ear (2) vs AirPods Pro 2

The gist of the video is that Carl loves the AirPods Pro 2. He gives Apple tons of respect for essentially defining the true-wireless earbuds market and piles praise onto how much better the newest AirPods are when compared to the originals. He also praises the charging case for the AirPods Pro 2 and its neat quality-of-life improvements, including a speaker and lanyard slot.

However, Pei obviously needs to push his own products. In the Apple AirPods Pro 2 review video, he explains how much more difficult it is to make the Nothing Ear 2 earbuds, mostly because of the transparent plastic. He even shows behind-the-scenes footage of the manufacturing center that makes the Nothing earbuds.

To prevent dust from getting into the earbuds’ transparent parts, the center is humidified “like a rainforest.” You can see humidifiers pumping steam throughout the room to keep things wet. It’s pretty nuts.

Nothing Ear (2) vs AirPods Pro 2

Pei also says that Nothing rejects up to 30% of the final products from the line so they can be re-made without dust.

In the end, Pei calls out the fact that the Nothing Ear 2 are $100 cheaper than AirPods Pro 2 while offering similar sound quality. They also look different, allowing users to stand out from the usual crowd of AirPods users.

Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing has been quite actively on the company’s YouTube channel and he has even been reviewing products such as the iPhone 14 Pro, OnePlus 11 and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. His latest review is on the Apple AirPods Pro 2 that launched in September last year.

Pei talks about the things he likes and doesn’t like about the AirPods Pro 2 and also compares it with the Nothing Ear (2) that launched earlier this year in March.

In the review video, Pei says that he has the entire AirPods lineup, and how the AirPods Pro 2 are a definite improvement over the first generation. The two things he points out that are good on the AirPods Pro 2 are better noise cancellation and transparency mode. He even goes to say that the AirPods Pro 2 are “one of the best noise-cancelling earbuds” he’s ever tried.

Nothing Ear (2) vs AirPods Pro 2

Nothing Ear (2) vs AirPods Pro 2

Pei also brings out the Nothing Ear (2) and compares it with the AirPods Pro 2 in terms of design.

1) There’s a very visible difference here with the Nothing Ear (2) standing out for its transparent case and design while the AirPods Pro 2 has the minimalist white case.

2) He says that an AirPods case is easy to make but with the Nothing Ear (2), the process is very difficult because of a lot of transparent elements and how they have to make sure dust isn’t visible.

3) He also talks about the manufacturing facility which is centrally humidified so there’s no dust seeping in but even this doesn’t ensure a dust-free product, and Nothing ends up rejecting 20 to 30 percent of the earbuds.

While talking about the stem controls on the AirPods Pro 2 and Nothing Ear (2), Pei said the former’s better because of its algorithms that you don’t experience any mis-clicks. In terms of comfort, Pei is of the opinion that the Nothing Ear (2) is more comfortable since it’s lighter.

The sound quality on the AirPods Pro 2 is something that he likes but calls it plain since it’s more neutral to appeal to the mass market. He does note the Spatial Audio on the AirPods Pro 2 but since there aren’t many songs with this tech he hasn’t been able to experience it much.

Pei puts the Nothing Ear (2) above the AirPods Pro 2 in terms of sound quality also highlighting that it has Hi-Res audio. He also says that the transparent design makes the Nothing Ear (2) more unique than the AirPods. But noise cancellation and transparency mode are features that are better on the AirPods Pro 2.

Nothing Ear (2) or AirPods Pro 2?

Nothing Ear (2) vs AirPods Pro 2

When asked about which one people should buy, Pei very subtly throws shade at how common the AirPods Pro 2 are by saying, “When you’re outside you see people wearing these white earbuds everywhere you go so if you’re happy being part of that crowd like everybody, then get these.”

He also mentions the $100 price difference saying that this can also be another factor but shouldn’t necessarily be the only reason to get the Nothing Ear (2). As expected, Pei also recommends the Nothing Ear (2) for Android users but that they’ve fine-tuned it for Apple products too and how the Nothing audio products are bought by iPhone users more.

FAQ’s on Carl Pei reviews Apple AirPods Pro 2

1) What’s it like to use the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) compared to the Nothing Ear (2)?

Ans) Both the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) and Nothing Ear (2) have a lot of time and effort dedicated to design, so it’s not surprising, then, that they have very similar forms. Each set of earbuds is based around the lollipop design of the original AirPods, with pinch controls hidden in the protruding stick. The short nozzles of each product have silicone tips, and are meant to nestle into your ear canal with a shallow seal. Both products also offer an ear tip fit test to ensure you can hear your tunes optimally, but only the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) has a large selection of aftermarket ear tips to choose from online should you find that you need something other than silicone tips.

As the flagship models for both Nothing and Apple, the Nothing Ear (2) and Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) bear price tags and features to match that level of prominence. You may find you don’t actually end up using all the bells and whistles available to you, but that’s okay. It’s better to have things like an app (or your operating system) to supplement the functionality of your earbuds even if you don’t end up using the spatial audio, equalizer, or voice assistant integration.

Though the earphones are quite similar, people who are less gentle with their toys will much prefer the Nothing Ear (2) over the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation), as it boasts an IP54 rating, while the Apple competitor only has an IPX4 rating. While that means both stand up equally well to moisture, only the Nothing Ear (2) is rated against dust ingress.

The most likely deciding factor between two products isn’t even related to the headphones themselves—in this case Android users may have more trouble deciding between the two. The baseline aspects of the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) like sound, ANC, and build quality are very impressive. However, it relies on iOS to grant virtually all its additional features (basically anything you can’t do with the default on-ear control settings), so Android users won’t benefit as much from buying it. Basically, people without iPhones will have to weigh the importance of hardware excellence against the software features of the Nothing Ear (2)—not that its hardware is anything to sneeze at.

2) How do you control the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) and Nothing Ear (2)?

Ans) Controls for both the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) and Nothing Ear (2) are relatively straightforward, with the former relying on a mix of physical control via pinching the ear stems. You can customize the exact function of the tap-to-hold function through the settings app of the iPhone, but for Android this isn’t customizable.
