Nothing OS 2.5: Key Updates
Key among the updates is a revamped Home and Lock Screen customization experience.
Users can now easily edit wallpapers and switch between new dynamic wallpaper effects – Atmosphere and Glass – for a more vibrant home screen.
Additionally, solid color wallpapers and a monochrome color theme have been introduced for those preferring a simpler aesthetic.
The Glyph Interface, one of the biggest selling points for the Nothing Phone series, also receives substantial upgrades.
Users can now utilize the Glyph lights for Google Calendar event countdowns, a new Glyph Timer with preset options, and an easier access method from the lock screen.
The interface also includes a fresh NFC usage animation and an improved Flip to Glyph experience.
Gesture navigation has also been enhanced for more efficiency.
Users can customize the double-press power button function and enjoy additional Lock Screen shortcuts.
A three-finger swipe gesture for screenshots and an advanced screenshot editor further streamline the user experience.
Other improvements include an optimized Weather app, a redesigned back gesture arrow, separate volume controls for ringtones and notifications, and an updated Quick Settings layout.
The update also brings improvements to camera stability and overall system performance.
Lastly, Nothing OS 2.5 introduces new widgets to enhance daily interactions.
These include a Pedometer Widget for step tracking, a Media Player Widget for music control, and a Screen Time Widget to help manage digital well-being.
Nothing Phone 2(a) Coming Soon?
Apart from this, rumours have been circulating since last month about Nothing’s potential new product, the Nothing Phone 2a, creating a stir on social media channels like X.
This speculation arises amidst expectations that the company, renowned for its unique design philosophy, is expanding its focus to include audio products.
The Nothing Phone 2a, distinct from the anticipated Nothing Phone (3), is very likely to feature a transparent back panel and a dual-camera setup, maintaining the brand’s reputation for innovative design.
Although details are scarce, an image shared by a tipster has piqued interest in the tech community.
The image is blurred and nothing much is visible, but it does look like the device is going to target a sub-Rs 20,000 market.
