How to use the shared stories feature on Snapchat

With all the social platforms bringing various upgrades, Snapchat also decided to join the queue. So, it has also added a new feature to its already long feature list available on the platform. The new feature is named “Shared Stories”, which is also an iteration of the already available “Custom Stories” ability.

With the new feature, Snapchat is giving the snap chatters a bigger platform to connect and share all the fun with the maximum crowd. Using this new feature, the users can not only invite their friends but also connect with their other friends to join the story, creating maximum engagement on that post. Here’s a detailed view of what the feature offers:

Snapchat shared stories: Invite the friends of your friends

Snapchat is set to bring the “Shared Stories”, a feature that redesigns the way how users collaborate and share memories. Snapchat already had “Custom Stories” that work in the same way, but with a very limited range. Custom Stories allows the creator to make a story and then add a selected list of friends to view and contribute. However, with the “Shared Stories,” the users can add their friends and then those friends can add their friends and make it a whole party.

As snap also says,  “for the whole soccer team, camp squad, or group of coworkers to get in on the fun,” the feature is super fun. Also, one thing that is the same with this also is that like every other Snap, this one too will stay for 24 hours and then disappear.

How to start with the get started with Snapchat shared stories

You can start a Shared Story by heading to your profile, tapping the new story option and then selecting “Shared Story.” As with all stories sent on Snapchat, Snaps sent to a Shared Story are automatically deleted after 24 hours. However, unlike regular friend Stories and Groups, there isn’t a chat component for Shared Stories. Snapchat says content is moderated using a combination of automatic language detection and community review tools. In addition, the app will notify users if they’ve joined a Shared Story with someone they have blocked. Snapchat says this will allow users to remain in control of who they share content with on the app.

Snapchat reveals that this feature lets users turn shared moments into shared memories. Similar to the custom stories, where it allows you to invite your friends to a story, this feature goes ahead and lets your friends as well invite their other friends to contribute and share their memories to a story.

“Now, with our new and improved Shared Stories, Snapchatters who’ve been added to the group can add their friends as well, making it easier for the whole soccer team, camp squad, or group of new coworkers to get in on the fun,” said the company in its blog post.

In case you have joined a Shared Story with someone who you have blocked on Snapchat, then Snapchat will notify you about it, and so if you want to leave the Shared Story, you can easily do it.

“We also notify Snapchatters if they have joined a Shared Story with someone they have blocked. This gives Snapchatters the opportunity to leave the Shared Story, and ensures Snapchatters are always in complete control over who they share content with on our platform,” the blog post continued.

How to use the Snapchat Shared Stories feature

1. Open Snapchat and click on the Profile icon on the top left.

2. Click on the “+New Story” option next to the My Stories header.

3. Select Shared Stories from the list of options.

The Meta Pick allows gamers to play strategically and thus always find the best champion. For premium studio-quality sound, Beyerdynamic’s driver systems are the best Meta Pick for your ears due to decades of audio experience and passion for gaming.

MMX 100 and MMX 150 – A new era of gaming headsets

The MMX 100 is an analog gaming headset with unparalleled sound, perfect for gamers who prefer to play on the console and connect the headset directly to the controller. It is compatible with all platforms that have an analog output with 4-pole and a 2×3-pole 3.5 mm jack plug. The MMX 150 is a digital USB gaming headset with integrated sound card and tuned features for passionate gamers.

The built-in 40 mm driver systems are specifically optimized for gaming by Beyerdynamic’s acoustic engineers and provide a high-resolution sound image. The result is a clear and precise sound that is audible in all genres: In FPS games, the precise sound localization convincingly gives a clear advantage in a wide variety of situations, and RPGs feel even more realistic due to the distinct sound image.

Both headsets feature the new Meta Voice cardioid condenser microphone. The high demands in gaming require a natural voice transmission with as little surrounding noise in the background as possible. The 9.9 mm capsule reproduces the voice image naturally and realistic, while typical noise such as mouse and keyboard clicks is suppressed.

The controls are located directly on both headsets. The convenient control wheel and intuitive controls allow you to run the volume quickly and precisely without leaving the game. Additionally, the microphone can be muted directly via the separate mute button. The MMX 150 also features a Light Guide System on the control wheel to make features such as Augmented Mode and Mute visually apparent.

Augmented Mode – Direct access to the outside world

Gaming is the window to another world, where one adventure after another awaits. But even in the most exciting moments, we sometimes need to devote our attention to the outside world. So, to maintain the balance between the digital and the real world, the MMX 150 is equipped with the new Augmented Mode.

In Augmented Mode, the surrounding sounds are detected and mixed into the playback signal in real time. This allows interaction with the outside world without having to interrupt the game, and awareness of one’s own voice and volume is always guaranteed.

The MMX 100 and MMX 150 combine classic Beyerdynamic aesthetics with functionality for the ultimate gaming experience. The high-quality aluminum headband is the binding piece of the long-lasting headset. To prevent pressure points on the head, the headband is equipped with a synthetic leather band with memory foam. 5G to transform healthcare in rural India

0
5G in healthcare

The outbreak of the Covid-19 led to an unprecedented digital transformation of healthcare ecosystem in India. The adoption of advanced technology and innovations had been low in India before the Covid. Realizing the importance of technology in healthcare, the Union Cabinet recently approved the national roll-out of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, with a budget of Rs1,600 crore for five years.

Government has been increasingly focusing on eHealth/Digital Health to improve the Indian public healthcare delivery by progressively using Information & Communication Technology under the overall objective of Digital India.

Digital health has a huge potential of improving the healthcare delivery system and capable of changing the landscape of healthcare industry across the globe.

In view of the upcoming 5G technology in India, medical professionals are hopeful that this will fuel the growth of the digital transformation of healthcare ecosystem. They are of the view that this will lead to a more inclusive and accessible healthcare system.

“Yes, it can be game changer. Patients from remote area need to travel long distance to consult their doctors. With the advent of 5G, they can easily connect, share test reports, imaging etc. with their doctor and get advices without bothering about the travel and related expenses,” says Dr Ravi Kumar Singh, consultant nephrologist and renal transplant physician, Jaypee Hospital, Noida.

5G in healthcare

According to Dr Singh, the adoption of new technology will amplify and enable proactive and faster treatment. “With the advent of new technology, patients will have the opportunity to get a second opinion from international experts as well,” he adds.

Expansion of telemedicine

By providing 5G technologies to the remote parts of the country, says Deepak Sharma, CEO MedLern, we can bring much-needed telemedicine to these areas.

“This is not to say that providing connectivity to rural areas is not challenging for the government and telecom industry, but this is a venture worth exploring simply because it can mean the difference between life and death for all the people residing in the rural  areas,” says Sharma while highlighting the challenges of 5G’s implementation in the sector.

Preparedness of India

Dr Singh who has been in the medical profession for close to eight years emphasises on the importance of having electronic health record (EHR) system in place. “It is a must to strengthen the basic infrastructure and hospital staff before implementing 5G in the healthcare system,” adds Dr Singh.

The 5G technology promises to augment speeds and decrease latency for consumers and thus has the potential to transform how healthcare is delivered in India.

“In India, 5G will be most useful in driving almost real-time, good-quality video transmission which is required for remote tele-consultations. In this fashion, doctors can have direct access to patient’s high-quality imaging for medical review without any lag time and telemedicine will improve and quicken access to quality healthcare without having to visit clinics and hospitals, and help people in remote places as well,” adds Sharma.

Will 5G be a boon for healthcare system

Known for abysmal doctor-patient ratio, Indian healthcare system has an acute shortage of medical staff—doctors, nurses, paramedics, and technicians. The crisis of the medical staff crippled India’s response to Covid 19.

According to the experts, the 5G enabled healthcare system may be able to ensure good-quality healthcare to those who have been deprived of this due to various reasons. “By leveraging Internet of Things devices, healthcare workers can remotely monitor patients and provide consultations and medications and make other informed decisions. For a staff-starved country, especially in the remote reaches, this is indeed a heaven-sent boon,” explains Sharma.

Citing the example of the US, Sharma says that two-thirds of US healthcare providers either have or are in the process of developing tele-medicine programmes. According to him the market is predicted to grow at a CAGR of 16.5% from 2017 to 2023, solely on the back of soaring demand for rural healthcare. India too can incorporate the upcoming 5G in tele-healthcare facilities, especially those targeting remote, rural reaches of the country.

In addition to augmenting the healthcare system, Dr Singh believes that the 5G in healthcare will also open new horizons of employment in rural areas. “They can set up tele-clinics, path labs and provide employment to many skilled and unskilled people at local level after providing basic training,” says Dr Ravi.

Hindrance in implementation

Highlighting the challenges of adopting 5G in healthcare, MedLern CEO says that radio network equipment needs to be deployed in all existing hospital structures. “This means that necessary alterations have to be carried out on to the existing hospital facility, an expensive proposition, while ensuring that medical equipment is shielded. Alternatively, these equipment may need to be upgraded to their 5G-enabled versions, again another additional cost. There is also the matter of training healthcare to be able to operate these new procedures,” explains Sharma.
