Browser Crash
iPhone

Highlights

  • An iPhone and iPad bug made the default Safari browser crash if you typed certain letters in the address bar
  • The error was likely an issue from the server-end of Apple, hence the crash
  • Apple has seemingly fixed it, and the browser is reportedly working fine now

In Brief

What is new today will become old tomorrow because nothing remain constant in this world as change is the only constant thing that takes place at regular intervals. The iPhone 14 series launched a few months back will become obsolete in a couple of years.

Apple is arguably as well as inarguably the most powerful and reliable tech giant in the world as people don’t think twice before going ahead to purchase its products, just like the iPhone 14 series and Apple Watch that were launched in September 2022.

However, Apple’s Safari web browser is facing awkward bug issues due to which it is crashing continuously without functioning even for a bit, which has become a kind of nuisance for many users.

It isn’t just iPhones that the Safari bug has affected but iPads as well on any version of iOS 16 but the interesting thing that the browser crash is happening inexplicably whenever any user tries to load a webpage on typing certain alphabets.

Browser Crash
iPhone

According to a recent news report, the Safari bug is triggered due to a number of three-letter search strings which led the browser to crash, which is why it was not noticeable at first but the strings in question are ‘tar’, ‘old’, ‘wel’, ‘bes’, ‘wal’, ‘pla’, ‘sta’, etc. among multiple others.

This error was discovered across all versions of iOS 16, but has apparently been rectified by an internal server-end fix from Apple’s end, which implies that users need not apply any manual fix through future software updates as the matter has been taken care of and they don’t have to take the trouble to do anything on their own.

Experts are speculating that the error was due to an erroneous internal server configuration due to which the malfunction happened in the web browser upon the aforementioned terms being entered.

iPhone 14 Pro Max

The most dramatic development in the smartphone industry in the last few years has to be the progress of the camera feature. A good camera with complementary additional features that enhances the photography capabilities of the smartphone is essential for a smartphone to be appealing in today’s market.

Every season tons of new smartphones from different premium brands flood the market but only a few of them can be touted for the title of best camera smartphones. At the moment, the smartphones that are truly competing in this segment are Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, iPhone 14 Pro Max, Google Pixel 7 Pro, and OnePlus 10 Pro. Pitting these best camera smartphones in 2022 against each other, we have some interesting findings. Let’s get into it.

Pitting Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, iPhone 14 Pro Max, Google Pixel 7 Pro, and OnePlus 10 Pro against each other, we have some interesting findings. The first camera comparison was testing the classic daylight HDR shots by all four smartphones. Without a doubt, one of the most common photography is the landscape using a smartphone’s primary camera.

When tried clicking a landscape shot using these smartphones, the results were not so surprising. All four images Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, iPhone 14 Pro Max, Google Pixel 7 Pro, and OnePlus 10 Pro look superb and were of almost equal quality. Some users may find some colour and image dynamic differences but it was minute, to say the least.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Testing the portrait shots from all four smartphones and the main thing to notice is such as to take a closer look at the bokeh generated and also the blur that affects the picture quality. Picture quality in portrait shots against sunlight is quite different and has some noticeable issues. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max very clearly fairs better in these departments and image quality is not only sharp, but the skin tone of the subject and facial details are also more accurate in their images as compared to the other two devices.

Closeup shots also have similar kinds of results with Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max giving clearer photos with keeping the scene quality intact.

We cannot talk about the camera of a smartphone and miss testing the front cameras for selfies. With the growing online work culture, the front camera is now utilised for much more than a few selfies and thus, it wasn’t surprising to see that the front-facing camera picture quality of all four devices was equally good.

With these results of blind camera comparison tests, let’s take a quick glance at the camera specifications of all four devices i.e. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra vs iPhone 14 Pro Max vs Pixel 7 Pro vs OnePlus 10 Pro .

LinkedIn: How to Spot Fake Profiles on the Platform

How to Spot Fake Profiles on the Platform

The issue of “Fake Profiles” is one of the biggest problems to tackle for any social media platform. Every platform is working on getting ahead of the fraudsters and bots on this issue with new features to identify and report Fake Profiles being rolled out from time to time. LinkedIn is probably one of the few social media platforms that have always managed to stay ahead technically with its identification process. As per LinkedIn’s last year’s transparency report, the company removed “96% of fake accounts using automated defences. In the second half of 2021, it removed 11.9 million fake accounts at registration and another 4.4 million before they were ever reported by other users.”

The world’s most popular professional networking platform last year launched new features for its users to spot “Fake Profiles.” Linkedin said in its announcement that all these new features are to “promote trust on a platform that is often key to job searching and making professional connections.”

Before we get into the new features and how you can spot Linkedin fake profiles, let’s understand more about fake profiles.

Fake Profile and Its Dangers

Fake profiles are user accounts created by cyber frauds using the identity of any other person including name, profile picture, email address and more. Such accounts are also sometimes created by bots in large numbers by stealing data from other sources. Most of the time these Fake Profiles are created to hide the original identity of the fraudster and commit various sorts of online criminal activities using someone else’s name and photograph.

On other occasions. the prime intention of creating such profiles is to cause harm to the victim by spreading fake and false information, damaging the reputation of the victim, sending a false friend request, and attracting children or teenagers with fake identities among other series offences.

How to Spot Fake Profiles on Linkedin

How to Spot Fake Profiles on the Platform

Linkedin rolled out the “About This Profile” features last year, under which users would be able to get more insights on a profile. The section will include more details such as when was the profile created, when was it last updated and other information related to the creation of the account.

The active users of the platform can refer to the other details included in this “About the Profile” section and based on that decide if they would want to connect with that profile or not. For example, any recently created profile can be checked for some signs such as unusual work experience or educational background to figure out if the user behind that account is genuine or not.

Moreover, Linkedin also came out with alerts for its user base in case some private messages received by them appear suspicious to the platform. The social media platform for professionals revealed that one of the easiest ways to spot a fake profile on the platform is through its private messaging activity.

These fraudsters send invites to random other active users to connect with them on other popular social media platforms by linking on a link. Any profile sharing such messages on private messaging features comes under immediate suspicion of the platform.

Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro Review: A Solid Option in the Premium League

0
Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro Review

Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro is the second addition to the brand’s true wireless stereo pro line of premium earbuds and it is clearly ready to compete with the best in the business. However, the true wireless stereo segment is highly competitive and success here entirely depends on how much or how feature-rich the offering actually is. To understand where exactly Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro stands in the crowded market segment and whether you should spend that money on these newly arrived audio gadgets, here is our Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro review. We have tried to cover every practical aspect of the earbuds and this will give you an insight into what to expect.

The matte, soft-touch finish of the Galaxy Buds2 Pro case that the brand claims will not smudge with everyday use instantly gives a premium feel. The case is compact and even with the earbuds inside, it is lightweight. The case flips open and neatly places the earbuds inside their two respective compartments. There is an LED in the centre and a text highlights that the earbuds are tuned by AKG. The case has a Type C port for charging. The packaging box, on the other hand, includes different sizes of rubber tips for the earbuds to ensure users can pick as per their requirements and a charging cable. Apart from being water-resistant, splash-resistant, sweat-resistant and these buds come with IPX7 ratings.

Before we get into details, let’s take a quick glance at the Pros and Cons.

Pros of Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro

  • These are lightweight and comfortable.
  • The sound quality is really good compared to other earbuds in the segment
  • ANC is decent
  • The brand has added some really useful features
  • The level of sensitivity of the touch panels is good
  • The earbuds are IPX7 water resistance
  • The Intelligent Conversation Mode works in the favour of these small earbuds

Cons of Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro

  • Some of the features provided in the earbuds are strangely limited to Samsung smartphones only
  • There are multipoint provided in this product
  • Many consumers may find it expensive in contrast to the direct contemporaries available in the market at the moment
  • The case, contrary to what the brand claims, seems prone to scratches and nicks in the long run
  • Battery life is just fine and not at all competitive
  • The app lacks custom EQ (has EQ presets)

Let’s get into a details Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro review

The Samsung Galaxy Bud2 Pro are small in size and has a rounded shape right where the buds will grip for a secure and comfortable fitting. These are clearly designed and sized keeping in mind how earbuds would look once placed inside ears. They do not creep out of the ear too much and have an extremely limited appearance from the outside when worn. The vent that earbuds have to prevent pressure buildup has been designed to stay inside the ear when worn, thanks to the black mesh at the tips of these tiny buds.

Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro Review

The Galaxy Wearable App on Android is how these Galaxy Buds2 Pro work by connecting with your smartphone. Those users who have some of the recently released Samsung smartphones can also enjoy 24-bit audio with the pair of these earbuds. As for iPhone users, the Galaxy Buds2 Pro is very much compatible but some of the features might not be usable. iPhone users will not be able to use the Galaxy app and a range of additional features that come with it.

The Galaxy app features, although available with limited Samsung Galaxy smartphones, add a lot of interesting capabilities to the earbuds. This app lets you switch between ANC, ambient and ANC off modes. Users can also use the app to configure the touch controls.

The touch controls are one of the best features of these earbuds. These controls include “tapping once to play/pause, double tapping to skip to the next track, triple tapping to jump to the previous track and long-pressing to switch between different ANC modes.” There has been a different concern with these controls as well. Many users have complained that the touch controls turn very finicky in everyday use and especially when it has a small surface area.

ANC performance in any pair of TWS earbuds is very important. In this department, Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro fairs well. It does a good job of drowning out all the noise from the outside. It also has a transparency mode, which can be very useful in situations when you want to stay aware of your surroundings. All you have to do is speak or mumble something while the earbuds are on and the Voice Detect features will automatically work and sense nearby sounds for you. This feature detects the voice and in response to that turns off ANC. It then switches to the ambient mode automatically for a few seconds. Users can make use of this feature by getting connected to the Galaxy app.

Huawei Mate 50 Pro Review

HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro Review

It appears Huawei has reserved its Mate series for all the innovations and some of the best features that the brand has to offer. As we mentioned the exciting camera that the brand has packed with this model, the mechanical variable aperture will allow users to be a lot more creative with the mobile camera than they could with a similar camera in competing smartphones. Users can shoot with it a wide open shot, and the sensor along with the aperture will let in more light. If the brand’s word is to be believed, up to 24% more light can be expected. Users can easily get out-of-focus “bokeh” and yet an attractive look in the portrait shots. At the same time, it can be stopped down to f/4 and the result shots will be more in focus.

Huawei Mate 50 Pro sports a 6.74 inch OLED display with a decent 120Hz refresh rate. The display is also ceramic glass material as per the brand and has received an HDR certification. The material that the brand is calling ceramic glass has been developed under toughened 1,600 degrees celsius temperatures. Huawei has also made the claim that the Mate 50 Pro model has been built with the most impact-resistant screen to be ever found in any of its other smartphones. This is one aspect that would not take much for users to test around.

For optimum performance, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor. What is important to note here is that because of the US restriction of Huawei and the many concerns the authorities have raised on its 5G devices, this smartphone is restricted to the 4G version only. The same US restrictions are also the reason why Mate 50 Pro comes without any Google services. This means that smartphone users would not be able to access various Google services such as Gmail, Play Store or Chrome. Although the brand has been working hard to grow its own app in order to provide a necessary outlet to users, the fact remains that many games or other apps that are only available on the Play Store are inaccessible on Huawei devices.

No matter how the brand tries to position itself and the devices in the market, Huawei Mate 50 Pro not having Google services and 5G connectivity is a major disadvantage when it comes to smartphone usage.

Huawei, however, has tried its best to make up for the disadvantages in other departments in the smartphone. The Huawei Mate 50 Pro’s rear camera clearly steals the show with its primary 50 megapixel RYYB sensor and the 13 megapixel ultrawide camera which is teamed with autofocus and macro capabilities. The camera has been developed with a true variable aperture (f/1.4-f/4.0). The device also 64 megapixel telephoto camera along with a periscopic lens for 3.5x optical zoom. The entire camera system is supported by laser autofocus and a 10-channel multispectral sensor.

The Huawei Mate 50 Pro packaging box has been designed richly. Apart from the device, the package box also includes a 66W charger, a transparent soft case and a 6A-rated USB-A to USB-C cable.

How to Share WiFi Password from iPhone Step-to-Step Guide

Do you stutter every time a visitor asks for your WiFi password because either it is too complicated to have it on the top of your tongue or because you simply do not wish to share for security reasons? Whatever the reason may be, sharing your WiFi password safely and carefully is essential. If you are an iPhone user and the device you wish to share your WiFi password with is also an iOS device, then Apple has a secure way for you. Now you can share your Wi-Fi password from iPhone to iPhone without actually sharing the password or having it manually entered on the other iPhone. Follow the below step-to-step guide on how to share a WiFi password from iPhone.

Step 1. First of all, you must ensure that both iOS devices are running on the updated iOS version. The WiFi password-sharing feature was with the iOS 11 version, so both devices should be updated accordingly.

Step 2. Secondly, both WiFi and Bluetooth need to be turned on in both devices for the feature to work smoothly.

Step 3. If the Apple IDs of both devices are different then you need to connect and add the other device’s Apple ID to your contact list. If the Apple ID of both devices is the same then there would not be any problem.

Step 4. Similar to how Bluetooth connection works entirely on the basis of the proximity of both devices, here too you will have to keep both iPhones close for utilising the feature.

How to Share WiFi Password from iPhone Step-to-Step Guide

Follow the below-mentioned step on the device with which you wish to share the password.

  • Go to Settings on the password-receiving iPhone
  • Choose the WiFi option
  • Now when all the available WiFi networks are visible, Tap on the one you wish to connect to.

Now follow the below-mentioned steps on the iPhone from which the password will be shared.

  • The host iPhone will get a pop-up asking if you wish to share the password as soon the receiving iPhone taps on the network on their device
  • On the pop-up, the option to Send or Share the password would be visible. Tap on Send Password
  • Next, you will see on the screen that the host iPhone will share the password with the receiving iPhone
  • Tap on Done on the iPhone screen once the process is complete

While following these steps should smoothly allow you to share your WiFi password with another iPhone without risking the security of the network or actually sharing the password, some users might face some issues. If the above steps do not work for you or you face any problems, here are troubleshooting tips to keep in mind.

  1. Ensure your iOS is updated. Open Settings on your iPhone > Tab on General and check if software updates are available.
  2. Check once again if the other iPhone’s Apple ID is saved in your contacts on not. This is an essential step for the feature to work.
  3. If everything is fine and you are still facing issues in completing the steps, try to Restart your devices once. This applies to iPhone, Macbook, iPad, or even Android devices.
  4. Turning your WiFi Off and On can also work if there are any connectivity issues.

New iPad 2023: What We Want to See

0
New iPad 2023

There is still some time left before the successor of the current iPad 10.9 is officially announced. Until that happens, there is no doubt that iPad 10.9 is one of the most appealing tablets available in the market segment right now. With iPad 10.9, Apple has really tried to improve an already refined design into something finer by adding premium features that set the tablet apart from all products in this segment. However, there are plenty of areas on which the brand can definitely work on in its next model. So, based on user inputs, tech expert reviews and multiple tech bloggers’ observations, we have listed out a few things that we want to see in the new iPad that is slated to be launched in 2023.

Before we get to the new iPad 2023 and what we want to see in it, we must take a look at the leaks and tips already floating in the tech new section regarding Apple’s upcoming tablet launch.

Based on the fact that Apple usually announces new products in this segment in the last quarter of the year, many tech enthusiasts have speculated that a September or October 2023 launch can be expected. It is also rumoured that Apple might announce the next tab along with the iPhone 15 reveal. There are no particular leaks about the specifications and price point as of now. But according to some tech bloggers, bigger screen sizes and some much-needed design changes are surely on cards for the next iPad. Moreover, a chipset is also likely to be used. Now, let’s move on to what we want to see in iPad 2023.

Less Reflective Screen

One of the biggest negatives most of the iPad 10.9 reviews highlighted was the lack of anti-reflective coating. This one flaw made it quite uncomfortable to work with the tablet when you are outdoors. So, not the screen size or even an upgraded screen with the upcoming model, We want to see Apple working on the screen reflection issue that everyone faces with the last model.

Apple Pencil 2 Support

One shortcoming of iPad 10.9, and this most users would agree with, has been the non-compatibility with Apple Pencil 2. It does support the original Apple Pencil but it should even be a question especially when the iPad already switched to a USB-C port. We hope the brand fixes this in the next model.

New iPad 2023

Improved Battery Life

If there is one thing that Apple as a brand has to work on, it is the battery life of its products. The brand already is aware of the constant complaints its loyal user base has been making over the years. Although iPad 10.9 battery life is much better with an 8 to 10 hours battery life, the brand can definitely do better when you look at the battery the brand used in MacBook Air (M2, 2022).

Increase the Camera Modes

It is true that no one purchases a tablet for its camera quality or photography skills. However, the limited camera models in iPad 10.9 were truly disappointing. It doesn’t even have the classic portrait and cinematic mode and we are hoping this would not be the case with the iPad 2023.
