Xiaomi has launched a new Redmi Note 12 series phone. The company launched the Redmi Note 12 series globally, which comprises four models.

The Note 12, Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro 5G and Note 12 Pro Plus 5G. Except for the Note 12 4G, all other Note 12 series phones launched today globally are available in India.

The most affordable Note 12 4G is also set to make its debut in India on March 30. Ahead of the official launch in India, the Redmi Note 12 4G has made its global debut in Europe.

Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi Note 12 4G globally alongside the other smartphones in the series, which include the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and the Redmi Note 12 5G.

The company has also unveiled the Redmi Watch 3. The Redmi Note 12 4G is the first 4G-enabled smartphone in the series, and it has been launched with a 120HZ AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 chipset, 50MP main camera, and much more.

For those unaware, the Redmi Note 12 4G is set to launch in India on March 30th, while the other smartphones in the series have been unveiled in the country already.

Redmi Note 12 4G Price, Storage, Colours

The Redmi Note 12 4G has been launched in four storage variants – 4GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB, and 8GB+128GB – and starts at EUR 199 (approx Rs 17,720).

It comes in Mint Green, Onyx Gray, and Ice Blue colour options.

Redmi Note 12 4G Specifications, Features

In terms of hardware, the Note 12 4G sports a tall 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels.

There is support for a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The device’s 8-bit display has support for DCI-P3 wide colour gamut and claims to offer 1200 nits of peak brightness.

There is a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. The screen has fairly narrow bezels around it, except for the thicker chin.

The cutout at the top houses a 13MP front camera sensor. There is also a triple-camera setup on the back.

The camera module design is similar to the rest of the Note 12 series phones. Obviously, the sensors are different compared to the more premium siblings. There is a 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture.

The phone also has an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view and a 2MP macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

The Note 12 4G gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 SoC, which has a peak clock speed of 2.8GHz.

The 6nm SoC also features an Adreno 610 GPU. In terms of storage, there is up to 128GB on offer. Users can expand the memory using a microSD card up to 1TB.

The phone packs a beefy 5000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging out of the box.

There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a graphite cooling system, a 3.5mm headphone jack, support for GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, etc.

The phone has an IP53 rating for basic protection against water and dust. It boots Android 13 out of the box and has MIUI 14 on top.

Redmi Note 12 Series in India

Three Redmi Note 12 series smartphones were launched in India in January – Redmi Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro 5G, and Note 12 Pro+ 5G.

The Redmi Note 12 4G, which has just been launched globally, is set to release in India on March 30th.

The Redmi Note 12 5G starting price in India is Rs 17,999 for the base model, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G starts at Rs 24,999, and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G at Rs 29,999.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 12 4G is expected to be priced at around Rs 15,000 as it is a 4G-enabled handset. However, the company hasn’t confirmed that as of now.
