India emerges 3rd largest FinTech ecosystem globally, a BLinC Invest report states

0

In its latest report on India’s FinTech sector, BLinC Invest highlighted the country emerging as the 3rd largest FinTech ecosystem globally. The report states that, as of end September 2021, the Indian FinTech sector has received over $23.7 bn of funding, giving rise to 10 Unicorns like Razorpay, CRED, Pinelabs, Policybazar; 170 minicorns, and 52 soonicorns.

India’s FinTech market is estimated to be $31 bn in 2021, covering all sub-segments like Digital Payments, Digital Lending, Insurance, Investment Tech, Neo Banking, and Banking Infrastructure. Between 2016 and 2021, total funding to the FinTech sector in India increased at a CAGR of 14.81%. The report also states that, during the same period, over 25% of all start-up funding in India was directed towards FinTechs.

The accelerated growth in this space has been driven by factors like high internet penetration (845M+ internet users); expectations of adding 140 million middle income & 21 million high-income households by 2030; and favorable government initiatives like Digital India, India Stack (Open API Platforms), Startup-India, Aadhaar, etc.

The report highlighted that the Digital Payments industry is heading towards maturity with expected market size of $95 trillion by 2025. Digital Lending is expected to grow faster into a $350 billion market by 2026. Huge growth opportunities await the Insurance, Investment-tech and Neo-banking space, with the markets expected to reach $250billion by 2025, $14 billion by 2025, and $15 billion by 2026, respectively.

Amit Ratanpal, Founder & MD, BLinC Invest said, “There is a huge untapped opportunity in the Indian FinTech market due to lower penetration. Only 20% of Indian SMEs have credit access, whereas the insurance penetration is just 3.7%. With the digital payment and lending industries expected to be worth $95 trillion by 2025 and $350 billion by 2023, respectively, and the insurance industry expected to be worth $250 billion by 2025, Indian fintech space is expected to receive traction from the investor community with increased transactional value.”

The insights report further identifies that India witnessed a strong digital adoption in insurance as customers are inclined towards digital channels for completing their insurance purchases. There has been an increasing demand for bite-sized insurance catering to a specific need or context, leading to a significant shift, making insurance a low-ticket and a high volume product.

Meanwhile, neobanks have witnessed steady growth, with traditional banking players struggling with technology-first operations. They are offering products targeting blue-collar workers and other categories of the customer to ensure a superior and seamless online/digital banking experience. This sector also has a vast potential to revolutionize the SME credit sector, which is currently underserved due to a lack of public database, uniformity in compliance filings and verified cash flow statements.

In the case of digital lending, the report stated that FinTechs are expected to grow faster with stricter regulations. With easy access to consumer data, they are focusing on more targeted & customized products and lowering default rates. Moreover, with the support of the government and increasing interest from FinTech companies, Supply Chain Finance is expected to witness significant innovation and digitalization, which will increase the transparency in the ecosystem and the access to working capital for MSMEs.

The increasing levels of digitalization backed by the increasing affordability of smartphones and a Covid-induced preference for digital services have led to greater acceptance of the super-apps across markets offering multiple products and services under one umbrella. Most of these global super apps have come from non-financial services companies with consumer-tech and e-commerce players embedding diversified financial products and service offerings to leverage their large customer base and provide a one-stop solution.

Its gorgeous display is housed in the thinnest, lightest, but strongest body yet, protected by an Armor Aluminum frame that is over 30% more scratch-resistant and 40% less prone to bending than Galaxy Tab S7. Camera

Equipped with powerful dual 12MP front cameras, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra also transforms your video call experience with professional 4K video quality. Advanced hardware meets software with Samsung’s auto-framing technology that automatically keeps you in focus during a call, while also zooming in or out to include new participants as they join you. You’ll also sound as clear as you look, thanks to three precision microphones that use advanced noise reduction technology to prevent unwanted background chatter. Quad Speakers with Dolby Atmos®, found on all three Galaxy Tab S8 models, ensure that everything sounds incredible, with lifelike detail and clarity.

Multitask with ease

Whether you want to explore your artistic side, be immersed in dynamic, lag-free gaming, or simply multitask with ease, the Galaxy Tab S8 series is the tablet you need for unbeatable performance. Equipped with the fastest processor ever in a Galaxy Tab — a 4nm chip — Galaxy Tab S8 and S8+ also provide ample RAM and storage for any task. If you need more, Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra packs in up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, and all three models offer expandable storage by up to 1TB with an optional microSD7 card.

No weak connectivity

The Galaxy Tab S8 series is also the first Samsung tablet to support Wi-Fi 6E, which provides up to double the bandwidth and maximum speed of Wi-Fi 6, and with optimized network quality you don’t have to stress about weak connections. Alternatively, share content in a flash with hyper-fast and secure Galaxy 5G10 — whether it’s for dialing in to class remotely or clearing out your inbox while commuting, optimized network quality can alleviate some of the stress of weak connections.

Full charge in 80 minutes

On Galaxy Tab S8 series, you’re always ready for action, fueled by an intelligent all-day battery that supports hours of video playback when you’re in the middle of a movie marathon. It supports 45W super-fast charging that can get you back to 100% in 80 minutes. If your other devices need a power boost on-the-go, simply connect your Galaxy Tab S8 to a Galaxy S22 smartphone with a USB-C cable, and the tablet’s incredible fast-charging battery can double as a portable charger.

Improved S Pen

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and S8+ both come with a new and improved S Pen that uses a prediction algorithm for ultra-low latency — delivering an incredible writing experience that mimics gliding a pen across paper. And for the first time ever, Samsung’s partnership with Clip Studio Paint can turn your smartphone into a digital color palette, your S Pen into a paintbrush, and Galaxy Tab S8’s expansive screen into your canvas. Customize tools and choose brush options, and even select vivid real-world colors from pictures taken on your synced phone.

Recording capabilities

Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra’s new 4K recording capabilities allows to capture crisp, eye-catching videos with both the rear camera and ultra-wide front camera. Content creators and streamers can capture online tutorials and gameplay effortlessly, using customizable selfie videos that are now embedded within Samsung’s Screen Recorder. With LumaFusion’s premier editing tool coming soon to Galaxy, users will soon be able to use Galaxy Tab S8 and S Pen to make precise edits to 4K videos.

Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra’s expansive screen also makes it easy for you to split the screen into multiple, resizable windows, so you can multitask without having to toggle between apps. Get inspired, search websites, and annotate presentation slides — all in one view.

Partnership with Google

Tablets also play an important role in keeping you connected to others. Samsung has partnered with Google for even better video calling and live sharing experiences through Google Duo, so you can co-watch videos with your friends on YouTube, share your browser to help plan your next meetup, or develop creative ideas using Jamboard, Google’s interactive whiteboard.

“As we rely more on videos to stay connected and entertained, we know that a tablet’s most compelling feature is its large screen and portability,” said TM Roh, President & Head of MX Business at Samsung Electronics. “We built on years of innovation in mobile experiences to refine the Galaxy Tab S8 series, and to push the boundaries of what’s possible on a tablet with the first Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.”
