Samsung and Synopsys, of which the latter is a prominent electronics design automation firm, have revealed that Samsung’s foundries are gearing up for the mass production of the first 3nm Exynos chip.

Although the press release doesn’t explicitly mention the Exynos name, the implications of this development are nothing short of revolutionary.

Samsung and Synopsys have finished the final design stage called “taping out”, where the finished blueprints get sent to Samsung’s factories to start making the actual chips.

If everything goes smoothly, Samsung’s factories will start pumping out these brand new 3nm chips in just a couple of months from now.

But it’s still not clear if this first 3nm chip will be the Exynos 2500 for the upcoming Galaxy S25 phones or some other chip.
