There is a good news for avid YouTube content consumers who wanted to experience YouTube Shorts on the bigger screen. Started in 2020 YouTube Shorts, a new short-form video experience for creators and artists who want to shoot short, catchy videos using nothing but their mobile phones, is expected to be available on PC and tablet soon. Currently, YouTube Shorts is available to mobile phone users only.

Similar to Instagram and TikTok, YouTube Shorts allows creators and artists to express yourself in 15 seconds or less. Youtube Shorts enables creators to record, edit and share short, vertical video content.

According to report, YouTube is likely to implement the new updates within the next week. However, any confirmed date is yet to be revealed by the YouTube.

YouTube has added a separate “Shorts” button on its app. It is easy for the 2 billion monthly active users worldwide to locate where Shorts exist on the app. Though it is not clear, whether YouTube will follow the same pattern for desktop and tablets also.

Post the ban on Chinese app TikTok in some countries worked well in favour of YouTube Shorts. It quickly became a trustworthy source for millions.

Design challenge

YouTube Shorts need to modify on its interface as YouTube Shorts has been confined to smartphones only. They need to modify to make it suitable for with a 13-inch and a 10-inch laptop and tablet, respectively.

Shorts might have their own tab, giving consumers immediate access to the material and the ability to customise it based on their tastes.

It remains to be seen if YouTube Shorts will be as successful as it is available on additional platforms, and how people will see it as a content option for individuals on the go.

User-generated short videos were born on YouTube starting with their first upload, a short 18-second video called “Me at the zoo.”
