It would not be a surprise if the Ace 2 Pro features a triple-camera setup on the back. However, details about the other two rumoured camera sensors were not revealed by the tipster.

Digital Chat Station further added that the Ace 2 Pro will feature a 1.5K resolution curved display with high PWM dimming. The screen will obviously feature an AMOLED panel.
The highlight feature of the Ace 2 Pro will also be its charging tech.

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro

According to Digital Chat Station, OnePlus might launch the phone with two charging options. The base configuration will offer 100W fast charging support, which is the same as the flagship OnePlus 11 5G.
There will be another variant with faster 150W charging support. Both variants are said to pack a beefy 5000mAh battery under the hood.

While the Ace 2 Pro will feature the same SoC and battery found in the flagship, it will likely offer faster charging options. The only differences, as of now, between the Ace 2 Pro and the flagship 11 5G are in the display resolution and the other two camera sensors on the back.

The OnePlus 11 has a 2K resolution display and a triple-camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera, a 48MP Sony IMX581 ultra-wide camera and a 32MP Sony IMX709 portrait telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom support.
We do not expect the Ace 2 Pro cameras to get Hasselblad’s touch, which will further contribute to the differentiation.

OnePlus 11RT could be the global version of the Ace 2 Pro

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro

The news arrives from known tipster Digital Chat Station who shared the details on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website).
For those unaware, the company had previously announced the Ace 2 and Ace 2V model in the Chinese market earlier this year.

Now, it appears that the Ace 2 Pro will be latest entry in the lineup and will feature refreshed specifications.
This includes a new processor, which will reportedly be Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Digital Chat Station further added that the display on the Chinese smartphone maker’s upcoming Ace 2 model will be a 1.5K resolution curved panel.
In other words, it will likely be an AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and curved edges.

Apparently, BOE is the supplier for this smartphone’s display. If this is true, then it is clear that the Ace 2 Pro will be a more affordable flagship grade device that will likely skip on certain features that powers the OnePlus 11 model.

Apart from this, rumors have hinted that the cameras and battery pack on the Ace 2 Pro will be same as the base Ace 2 model.
Although, this is still unclear at the moment. The Pro model is expected to launch sometime in the second half of this year, so stick around for more updates regarding this device.

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro Specifications Leaked

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro

The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is said to feature a 1.5K display, which we assume will be an AMOLED panel, given the device’s flagship stature.
The display is said to be curved around the edges and is claimed to feature ultra-narrow bezels.

Under the hood, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is claimed to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which might be coupled with up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB internal memory.
The device is tipped to feature a large Vapour Cooling chamber for an optimum performance.

The display specifications of the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro hint that it could be a more affordable flagship-tier device and might be placed below the OnePlus 11 in terms of pricing and the brand’s portfolio.

The device is also expected to feature a 50MP triple rear camera setup and a 16MP selfie shooter.
In terms of battery, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to house 5,000mAh battery with support for 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging over a USB Type-C charging port.

Coming to the software, we can safely assume that the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will boot the latest Android 13-based ColorOS 13 skin out of the box.

As for the Indian launch, the device might launch in the country, albeit with a different moniker. OnePlus 11T? OnePlus 11RT? Time (and future leaks) would tell.

FAQ’s

1) OnePlus Ace 2 Pro key specifications leaked ahead of launch.Details?

Ans) •OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to be the company’s upcoming smartphone.
•The smartphone will most likely debut in China, and launch with a different branding in global markets.
•A new leak has now revealed the specifications of the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro.
OnePlus is expected to launch a new Ace series smartphone in China soon. The upcoming phone will be the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, and it could launch sometime between July and August. There’s still no official word from OnePlus on the Ace 2 Pro but a new leak has revealed what’s supposed to be the key specifications of the phone.

The latest leak comes from tipster Digital Chat Station who shared the details on Weibo.

Display: OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is said to feature a 1.5K resolution curved display with high PWM dimming. The specifics of the display haven’t been revealed yet.
Processor: The smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, according to the tipster. It is also said to be equipped with a large vapour chamber system for heat dissipation.
Cameras: Details are still scarce but the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to sport a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS).
Battery, charging: OnePlus is reportedly planning to offering two charging options with the Ace 2 Pro. The base model will come with 100W fast charging support, while the top-end variant will have 150W fast charging support. But both models will pack the same 5,000mAh battery.

So far, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to release only in China. We will probably see the phone launching with another branding in global markets. OnePlus has done this before with the Ace 2 which launched as the 11R 5G in India. There are also rumours that suggest the Ace 2V will launch globally as the Nord 3 smartphone. So it’s very likely that the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will launch as OnePlus 11T in markets outside China.

2) OnePlus Ace 2 Pro key specifications leaked, two charging variants tipped?

Ans) OnePlus Ace 2 Pro key specifications have been leaked in a new Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station. Apart from revealing the key details, the leak also states that the phone will arrive in two charging variants.

Reports have revealed that the Ace 2 Pro will debut in July in China. The smartphone is likely to compete with upcoming flagship phones, such as the iQOO 11S, the Realme GT Neo 5 Pro, and the Redmi K60 Ultra. The Ace 2 Pro is expected to succeed the OnePlus Ace Pro phone in 2022. The Ace Pro was rebadged as the OnePlus 10T in India. Hence, there is a possibility that the Ace 2 Pro could be rebranded as the OnePlus 11T in India. Here is a look at the leaked specifications of the Ace 2 Pro.

As per the leak, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will feature a curved-edge display with narrow bezels. The screen will support a 1.5K resolution and high-frequency dimming. Other reports have revealed that the Ace 2 Pro will feature a 6.7-inch OLED panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of appearance, the device is expected to look like the OPPO Reno 10 Pro+, which recently debuted in China.

The 3.36GHz Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 is most likely to power the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro. The said chip could be an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. In all likelihood, the device may arrive with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. For heat dissipation, the device will be equipped with a vapour chamber liquid cooling setup that occupies a large surface area.

For photography, the device will be equipped with a Sony IMX890 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS support. It is expected to pack a 5,000mAh or slightly larger battery. The phone is expected to arrive in two charging options, such as 100W and 150W. Since the phone is expected to debut in July in China, the rumour mill is expected to leak more details on its specifications in the coming days.

Infinix Note 30 5G Unboxing

The packaging of the device is similar to the standard Infinix Note series. We get the device in an attractive darkish lime green colour official Infinix packaging.

The device we had for this review is the Magic Black colour variant that quickly catches your eye for its stylish lustrous back finish. (More on the design in the design section.)

Placing the device on the side, we then move on to what else Infinix has bundled inside the retail box. With the smartphone, you get a SIM ejector tool, a 45-watt Fastcharge Adapter, a USB cable, a User Manual, an Infinix warranty card, and some official paperwork. Moreover, Infinix has also bundled a Screen Protector, and a Clear case for the immediate use of the device.

Based on some rumours, we were expecting 3.5mm earphones with the phone. However, to our disappointment, Infinix has apparently bundled the earphones only with Note 30 and Note 30 Pro models and not with Note 30 5G. May be based on your geographical region, you can get earphones inside the box.

Now, let’s move on to the design.

Infinix Note 30 5G – Design

Infinix Note 30 5G
Rear Design

If we had to say one thing about the design of this smartphone, we would say the Infinix Note 30 5G looks great at first glance. The Magic Black colour variant that we had for this review instantly feels attractive to hold. The boxy body and glittering yet somewhat matt finish of the back panel makes it look both classy and jazzy at the same time.

At the rear, you will immediately see the large camera housing that features the triple camera system. The camera house is quite large and takes up almost half of the back panel.
Appreciating this design pattern completely depends on your personal preferences as some users appreciate a chunky form at the back while others may not.

Personally, we quite like this design pattern when it is aesthetically done. And Note 30 5G got it right accounting to us.

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G Right View

The back panel changes colours depending on how the light hits it, giving off an attractive iridescent effect. In darker areas, the body turns into simple yet attractive plain matte black colour which looks even better.

Then there’s the signature Infinix logo at the lower portion.

A fact we love is that you won’t leave any nasty fingerprints on this phone since it’s extremely smudge resistant.

At the bottom, you get one out of two stereo speakers, a USB C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The volume and power buttons can be found on the right side while the dual SIM and micro SD card slot is on the left. Up top, we can find two out of two stereo speakers and a signature JBL Logo.

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G Top Design

If we compare it to other Infinix smartphones, the Note 30 5G  weighing 204.7g does weigh quite a bit more. However, it feels sturdy with a build quality that is quite exceptional. Despite its size, the one-hand operation seems to be manageable for the device.

Although we do wish Infinix chromed up the power button as well to match the rest of the smartphone design as the given power button seems out-of-place.

As for as the design goes, the overall look and feel of Note 30 5G does match the expectation when we project it for the flagship experience Infinix is supposedly aiming for.

The biggest & best use case scenario for the NFC feature in Note 30 5G is that its for the consumers who frequently make purchases at stores that accept NFC payments, as it provides a secure and convenient payment option.

Infinix Note 30 5G – Display

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G Display

The IPS LTPS LCD display measures 6.78 inches with full HD Plus resolution, and more importantly, it comes with a 120hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display also has the support of Smart Refresh 2.1 and Magellan Engine 1.1 promising a stellar gaming and streaming experience. We obviously had to try to believe it.

We started simply by streaming some YouTube videos first. The casual streaming experience is definitely impressive. You can stream apps such as YouTube at 1440p, which is great. The colours while streaming seem very vivid but you can take it one step further with some changes in the settings.

YOUTUBE STREAM

There’s no lag or slowing down when swiping through the menu or just browsing social media. The screen is overall smooth for an everyday user.

We also tried using the device outside to check the screen brightness and the results were pretty underwhelming in direct sunlight. The screen itself is quite bright, however, gaming or streaming outside in day time or under direct sunlight wasn’t clear. Streaming in shady areas, on the other hand, was decent enough.

What we loved is the Eye Care feature that automatically makes the screen look warmer or cooler depending on your settings.

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G JBL

Not to mention, you do have the JBL-tuned stereo speakers here, which accentuates the overall display experience while gaming and streaming.

The bright and high refresh rate display also enhances the gaming experience. You can also enjoy superior gaming on this display just by tweaking a few settings here and there.

Speaking of gaming, let’s talk about the performance of Note 30 5G.

Best Entertainment Experience in the Segment

6.78” FHD+ Display

(100% DCI-P3 Color Gamut, Big Aspect Ratio with 92% Screen to Body Ratio)

The definite choice for entertainment purposes such as watching movies, videos, and playing games.

The 6.78″ large FHD+ display, DCI-P3 Color Gamut and wide aspect ratio would provide users with an immersive viewing experience, making them view the content in detail with sharper & natural colors, high resolution images & even the minutest details of the scene in the content they are viewing.

Widevine L1

Streaming services or OTTs these days use DRM technologies to protect their content from piracy and ensure that only authorized users can access the content.

120Hz Refresh Rate + 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate

120Hz Refresh Rate & 240Hz touch Sampling rate means that the screen can refresh more frequently, resulting in a smoother and more fluid display, while a higher touch sampling rate means that the touchscreen can detect and respond to touch inputs more quickly and accurately

TUV Rheinland Eye Care Certification

Blue light emission from screens can cause eye strain, headaches, and other health issues, particularly when users are exposed to it for extended periods and TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification is a display technology that reduces the blue light emission from the smartphone’s screen.

This can be used in this device by activation Eye-Care Mode in Settings

JBL Quality

Dual Stereo Speakers High-Res Certified DTS Sound

Dual speakers mean that the smartphone has two speakers, one at the top and the other at the bottom of the phone, providing stereo sound.

INFINIX & JBL collaborated to deliver the best aural experience. JBL Surround Sound provides a surreal surround sound experience, making the audio sound more immersive and lifelike.

High-Res Certification means that the audio quality meets a higher standard for audio playback, delivering audio that is more detailed and nuanced.

Infinix Note 30 5G – Performance

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G Under Performance Testing

Powering the Infinix Note 30 5G is the latest MediaTek Dimensity 6080 5G processor and it comes with 8 GB of RAM. However, there is an additional 8 GB of extended RAM, which totals 16 GB of RAM.

The device we had for this review comes with 256 GB of internal storage, which technically is a lot. However, for those of you who may still feel it’s lacking in the storage department, you do get the option to expand the device storage via the microSD card slot.

The Note 30 runs on Infinix XOS 13 which is based on Android v13.

To start with, we conducted some prominent benchmark testing on the device to understand where it actually stands with respect to performance.

Here are some Benchmark results –

The smartphone runs day-to-day apps such as Facebook, Twitter and Tick Tock very well as expected.

However, for all gaming enthusiasts, we are sure most of you would want to know about its gaming performance. To get some answers, we tried playing multiple games on the device and rarely felt any issues with respect to the response or otherwise device behaviour.

We also conducted a 3D Mark test to check the gaming capabilities of the smartphone. Here’s the result of 3D Mark testing –

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G Work Score Details

As for heavy gamers, we’re happy to report that it overall smoothly runs graphics-heavy games such as Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail.
The only drawback when playing such games on this phone is that you have to tweak the graphic settings for smoother gameplay. Also, we did notice some lags and frame drops with Star Rail especially when you speed up battle.

Overall, we are quite happy with the performance of this phone for the price and to give you a better idea of how it performs we tried running some basic benchmarks.

Infinix Note 30 5G Camera

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G Rear Camera

The aspect that really surprised us about Infinix Note 30 5G was the camera integrated into this device. You get a 108-megapixel main shooter paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor and an AI camera. On the front, we have a 16-megapixel selfie shooter that works smoothly for video calls.

We tried taking some shots and found the camera works great during the day or in well-lit environments. Here are some shots taken at different times of the day –

The 108-megapixel main sensor produces images with nice details. When zoomed in on the other hand, results remained underwhelming. What was impressive was how the camera worked in imperfect lighting conditions.

However, as was noticed in many sample photos, the colour reproduction can be inaccurate at times with reds turning pink in some areas when in low lighting conditions.

Another thing we noticed is how the standard mode was the best option as most of the shots taking in standard mode had the best results compared to other camera mode options available.

Similar to the photos, the videos we tried shooting were great in well-lit environments too. However, it’s not the best in low-lighting conditions.

The main lens can shoot up videos to a maximum of 2K at 30 frames per second. Here’s a sample video we shot in the daylight.

DAYLIGHT CAMERA Performance

Night CAMERA Performance

An issue we noticed as we tested the video shooting capabilities, it did not seem that stable when shooting at 2K. Although there is a stabilized function, its use is quite limited as with stabilization turned on it can only record video at 1080p at 30 frames per second.

We also tried recording videos using the selfie shooter and the results seemed good enough for social media. Obviously, it’s not the best but considering the price point of this device, it’s definitely good enough.

Infinix Note 30 5G Battery

Infinix Note 30 5G Battery

Powering the Infinix Note 30 5G is a 5000mAh battery, which is more than enough for day-to-day use and even gaming by today’s standards.

From our experience of testing the device, it lasts almost an entire day including some light gaming hours. However, you still need to charge the phone at the end of the day almost like any other phone in the market.

In our PC Mark work 3.0 battery test, the phone lasted 14 hours and 14 minutes.

Infinix has packed a 45-watt fast charger with the Note 30 5G, which although is not the fastest out there it’s definitely better than the 5-watt we usually get with smartphones in this price segment.

Infinix has also tried to push for battery technology innovation this time around. The Note 30 5G comes with some unique battery features that we hardly get to see in this price segment. Here are some additional battery features –

Additional Battery Features

Battery Feature Description
45W Type-C Fast Charging

(Charge 75% in just 30mins*)

The dual-channel fast charging technology with two 2:1

charge parallel pumps are capable of delivering a 45W charge. This is fast enough to charge the 5,000mAh battery from 1  to 75 per cent in 30 minutes.

Moreover, in just a 5-minute charge, the Note 30 5G can give you 1.75 hours of gaming (MLBB).

Wired Reverse Charging

(Used Type C to Type C Cable)

Note 30 5G supports OTG wired reverse charging, and wired charging for other devices.
Bypass Mode

(First brand to offer Bypass Charging technology in the price segment)

With the Bypass Mode activated, whenever the battery level reaches or exceeds the threshold for Bypass Charging (30%

by default), the charging current bypasses the battery to go straight to the motherboard. This reduces overheating while charging and playing at the same time. Compared with regular

charging mode, Bypass Charging can reduce the temperature increase by a maximum of 7°C.

AI Smart Charge AI Smart Charge feature uses AI models to track phone usage patterns and predict when you will go to sleep and wake up. This feature allows the device to charge the battery up to

80 per cent overnight, pauses charging and then resumes just before you wake up so that you have a fully charged phone.

Overall, battery performance is optimum and we are especially thrilled about the Reverse Charge feature and the Bypass Mode Infinix has decided to integrate into this device.

The OnePlus Nord 3 has been a part of the rumour mill for quite some time, and it appears that we are close to its official launch. Last week, a tipster claimed that the phone might launch “on or after 16 June.”
Now, a leak includes its “official images” that look similar to the OnePlus Ace 2V in China. OnePlus is yet to confirm the launch of the OnePlus Nord 3 in India.

OnePlus Nord 3

The renders come from the German blog WinFuture, which has a decent track record in leaks and specifications rumours. The renders suggest OnePlus Nord 3’s two colour options, including lime green and black.

The phone looks significantly different from Nord 2 as the rear cameras are not housed inside a square module. We can also notice the OnePlus alert slider to manage audio modes on the smartphone.

In terms of specifications, WinFuture suggests the Nord 3 will feature a 6.74-inch AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 2772×1240 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The phone may draw power from the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 octa-core SoC and a 5000mAh battery. The battery may have 80W charging support, which could power up the device from 0 to 100 per cent charge in less than an hour.

Although the back includes two cutouts, there are going to be three cameras. The Nord 3 will reportedly include a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
Other rumoured specifications include Android 13, 5G, under-display fingerprint scanner, up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

While the leak suggests that OnePlus might launch the phone in India this week, the phone may debut later in June as the Nord 3 could be a significant update from the company.

The Nord series is important to the company as this family of phones (plus watches and earbuds) helps OnePlus segregate its flagship devices from affordable mid-rangers.

OnePlus Nord 3

The original Nord phone was a hit among customers, which led to the creation of even more affordable Nord CE series phones. OnePlus introduced Nord 2 in 2021, though there have been other Nord devices with ‘CE‘ or ‘T’ added in the moniker.

OnePlus is expected to launch a new Nord smartphone very soon.
There have been rumours and leaks around the phone which is the OnePlus Nord 3.
Now, alleged marketing renders of the OnePlus Nord 3 have appeared hinting at the phone’s imminent launch.

At the time of writing this, there is no word on the sensor size or any other details.
The rest of the specifications of the phone will remain the same.

The Nord 3 5G global variant will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. It is also said to sport a triple-camera setup on the back. The device will feature a 120Hz AMOLED display as well.

The OnePlus Nord 3 renders shared show the same design as the OnePlus Ace 2V. So there are dual cameras at the back, and a punch-hole display up front.
The smartphone also comes in two colour options of black and green.

While this isn’t official it still corroborates past leaks and rumours of the OnePlus Nord 3 launching as a rebranded OnePlus Ace 2V.

Numerous official images of the Nord 3 have emerged online, thanks to a renowned leaker.
The leak shows the upcoming mid-range smartphone from all sides and hints at a major change from the Ace 2V on which the Nord 3 is based.

Roland Quand and WinFuture have shared official images of the Nord 3, a follow-up to last year’s Nord 2T.

In short, it appears that the Nord 3 is the global version of the Ace 2V, a mid-range option that OnePlus sells in China. Seemingly, OnePlus has not made any physical changes to the Ace 2V, with the company’s regular black and green colourways returning.

Likewise, the Nord 3 is said to feature a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 2,772 x 1,240-pixel resolution. Presumably, the large display sits within a 162 x 75 x 8 mm chassis and is supported by a 5,000 mAh battery.

Quandt adds that the latter supports 80W wired charging, matching the capabilities of the Nord 2T. Additionally, OnePlus will maintain the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset from the Ace 2V, which it will pair with up to 16 GB of RAM.

Moreover, the Nord 3 is expected to offer 8 MP ultra-wide-angle and 2 MP macro cameras. Conversely, Quandt claims that OnePlus has swapped the 64 MP primary camera in the Ace 2V for a 50 MP sensor, matching the Nord 2T.

Also, the leaker states that the Nord 3 will start with 8 GB of RAM and 128 of storage; the Ace 2V is configurable with a minimum of 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. There will be no 512 GB of storage option, either.

Instead, the Nord 3 will peak at 256 GB of non-expandable storage. Pricing and availability has not surfaced yet, although OnePlus still remains barred from selling devices in Germany.

OnePlus Nord 3 India launch Timeline and Price

OnePlus Nord 3

The OnePlus Nord 3 India launch is tipped to happen in June.
The handset is expected to have a starting price of Rs 30,000/Rs 32,000.

Alleged OnePlus Nord 3 Live Images

OnePlus Nord 3

The OnePlus Nord 3 live images have been shared by a Twitter user @realMlgmXyysd, showing off the complete design.
The phone looks identical to the OnePlus Ace 2V, which makes us believe the Nord 3 could be a rebrand.

While the live image shows the design completely, the source appears to be dubious as we see the Chinese variant and not the global model, so it may very well be the OnePlus Ace 2V.

The handset has a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter, flat edges, and narrow bezels.

Flipping the phone to the back, we are greeted with two circular modules that house triple camera sensors and an LED flash. We see OnePlus branding as well.

The power button and alert slider are on the right edge, while the volume rocker could be on the left side.
Interestingly, one of the images shows the ‘About Phone’ page of the phone.

The OnePlus Nord 3 Design Shown in full ahead of Launch

OnePlus Nord 3

In any case, these renders have been shared by WinFuture, and they show us the phone in both black and cyan colors. The device will have flat sides with chamfered edges, and a flat display.

A centered display camera hole is placed at the top of the display, while you’ll see physical buttons on both the left and right sides. On the left, a volume rocker is placed, while the power/lock button and an alert slider sit on the right side.

There are three cameras placed on the back of the phone, across two camera islands. OnePlus will also include two LED lights on the back, next to the aforementioned camera islands.
The back side of the phone will also be flat, but it will curve into the frame on the edge to make the phone more comfortable to use.

It will be a rebranded OnePlus Ace 2V handset which launched in China already

OnePlus Nord 3

Now, as mentioned earlier, this phone will be a rebranded Ace 2V handset. That device already launched in China. The OnePlus Nord 3 won’t only look like the Ace 2V, but it will also utilize its specs.

The phone will feature a 6.74-inch 2772 x 1240 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC will fuel this phone. You can also expect to get up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

A 50-megapixel main camera will be placed on the back, along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. A 2-megapixel macro shooter will also be in use.

A 5,000mAh battery will power the device, and 80W wired charging will be supported.

The OnePlus Nord 3’s price tag is still unknown. The phone is expected to launch in the near future, but the exact date is also a mystery at the moment. One thing to note is that the device won’t launch in Germany due to a dispute with Nokia.

ONEPLUS NORD 3 LEAKED RENDERS CONFIRM DESIGN IN ALL GLORY

OnePlus Nord 3

After a long waiting, the OnePlus Nord 3 seems to be finally coming. It was expected for the last year, but instead, OnePlus came with a OnePlus Nord 2T variant.

Now, that the OnePlus Nord 2 is about to complete its second anniversary, OnePlus seems to be ready to unveil the OnePlus Nord 3.

The device had been a target of leaks in the past few weeks, now we have more renders, courtesy of WinFuture.de that confirm the design of this cost-effective flagship in all glory. As rumored, the OnePlus Nord 3 will arrive as a rebadged OnePlus Ace 2V.

OnePlus Nord 3 Design Confirmed yet again

OnePlus Nord 3

The OnePlus Nord 3 renders reveal two distinct hues. We have the traditional Blue/Green hue and a classic Dark Gray color option.

These are recurring colors in the OnePlus Nord series and are making a comeback with the Nord 3. Since this device is out of the “flagship” class, we don’t expect additional colors to appear.

However, we won’t discard the launch of a special version in the future. The design of the phone is in line with the OnePlus Ace 2V which launched in China a few months ago.

The OnePlus Ace 2V is a variant with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. While the original OnePlus Ace 2 reached the global market as OnePlus 11R, the Ace 2V is yet exclusive to China. That will change soon as the phone will now launch with a OnePlus Nord 3 makeover.

Under the hood, we will have the aforementioned chipset with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. If the phone is just a conventional rebranding, we are going to see the same 6.74-inch AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 2,772 x 1,240 pixels of resolution.

It should bring a triple-camera system with a 64 MP main camera, 8 MP ultrawide, and 2 MP macro snapper. The device will run Android 13 OS with OxygenOS 13 straight out of the box.

The Nord 3 will reach markets like India and Europe. However, it should be out of Germany due to a local patent dispute between Oppo (OnePlus’s parent company) and Nokia.

OnePlus Nord 3 leaks in official-looking renders, launch is definitely nearing

OnePlus Nord 3

The OnePlus Nord 2 is turning two years old next month, so it’s clearly high time for its successor to make its debut, and that’s looking like it will happen very soon.

Today some official-looking press renders of the upcoming Nord 3 have been leaked, and the launch could very well be imminent. The Nord 3 is presented here in two hues, as you can see – the now-trademark OnePlus blue/green/teal hue, as well as a more classic-looking dark gray/black.

Rumor has it the Nord 3 will be just a rebranded OnePlus Ace 2V, a phone that went official in China back in March.

If this pans out, then expect the Nord 3 to come with a 6.74-inch 120 Hz 1240×2772 touchscreen with Asahi Glass on top, a triple rear camera setup (64 MP main, 8 MP ultrawide, 2 MP macro), a 16 MP selfie camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 80W wired charging support.

The OnePlus Nord 3 will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, if it is indeed just an Ace 2V by another name. It will run Android 13 with OxygenOS 13 on top.

The OnePlus Nord 3 won’t be available in Germany due to an ongoing patent dispute between parent company Oppo and Nokia, but should be out in other European countries “in the coming days”, according to the usually reliable source of this leak.

Ans) OnePlus could potentially launch a new mid-range device soon and it might be coming to Malaysia not long after the unveiling. The long-rumoured Nord 3 5G, the successor to the Nord 2, is said to be a rebranded Ace 2V but with some altered specs.

While nothing has been officially announced by the company yet, we found that the Nord 3 has already been listed on the SIRIM database with the model number CPH2493. Moreover, it has been certified no less than three times by different companies, dating all the way back to April and the most recent one was registered less than two weeks ago.
The phone itself was leaked in its entirety just last month and if it’s accurate, it should be nearly identical to the Ace 2V. It will sport a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a 2772×1240 resolution, a peak brightness of 1,450 nits, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the brand will equip the phone with its signature alert slider.

The camera setup is where it will allegedly differ from its Chinese counterpart, with the primary camera using a 50MP sensor instead of 64MP along with an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro lens. Powering the phone will be a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging. It will also ship with OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13.

The OnePlus Nord 3 5G could come in at just under the RM2,000 mark if it follows a similar pricing structure as the Nord 2T. Since the company has not made any announcements regarding the device, we’ll have to wait to find out when the device will be available in Malaysia.

Last year, we saw Drishyam 2 at the theatres. While the Malayalam and Telugu films came on digital, Ajay Devgn and producers Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak decided to release it in cinema halls.
It turned out to be one of the biggest grossers of 2022 making over Rs 200 crores at the cinema halls.

In 2013, Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph created the epic thriller, Drishyam, which eventually got a remake with Ajay Devgn in Hindi, Kamal Haasan in Tamil and Venkatesh in Telugu.

Drishyam 3

The film won appreciation across the country and over the years became one of the most iconic franchises of Indian Cinema.
Years later, Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph came up with Drishyam 2, which saw a direct to digital premiere, which was replicated by Venkatesh and team for Telugu too.

However, Ajay Devgn and his producer partners, Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak decided to take a brave call and got the Drishyam sequel in cinema halls.

Superstar Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph came up with the idea of their epic crime thriller Drishyam in 2013. The movie was eventually remade by Ajay Devgn in Hindi, Kamal Haasan in Tamil and Venkatesh in Telugu.

And if the latest report is to be believed, the makers of Drishyam have cracked a deal with its Hindi creators for the third installment.

According to a news portal, Drishyam 2 has gotten into the development stage between the creators in Hindi and Malayalam.
Director Abhishek Pathak and his team of writers have reportedly cracked the basic core plot for Drishyam 3.
Jeethu Joseph and his team have loved it and now they are working towards developing it into a screenplay.

The Hindi and Malayalam team of Drishyam are working together with a long-term vision of shooting both the films together and release them on the same date all across India. While Mohanlal will reprise his role of Goerge Kutty in Malayalam, Ajay will take the journey of Vijay Salgaonkar in Hindi.

It is being said that once the screenplay is locked, the Telugu Drishyam producers will also join the Hindi and Malayalam team to release the film on the same date.
Everyone associated with the film are trying to provide the best experience of their element of suspense without spoiling its twists and turns.

Drishyam 3 is said to be the final installment in the franchise. The movie is expected to go on floors in 2024.

Drishyam 3 Plot

Drishyam 3

The film proved to be one of the biggest money spinners of 2022 and emerged a blockbuster for Ajay Devgn.

It also holds the record of being the highest grossing thriller in Hindi.
And now, Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that Drishyam 3 has gotten into the development stage and it is proving to be a collaboration between the creators in Hindi and Malayalam.

“Abhishek Pathak and his team of writers have cracked a basic core plot for Drishyam 3, which Jeethu Joseph and his team loved. They have taken the idea from the team of Hindi Drishyam and are now working towards developing it into a screenplay for Drishyam 3,” revealed a source close to the development.

Drishyam 3

The team of Drishyam (Hindi and Malayalam) are working in tandem with the long-term vision of shooting for both the films together.

“The idea is to have Drishyam 3 shot together and release them on the same date all across India. While Kerala will see the release in Malayalam with Mohanlal as Goerge Kutty, the rest of India will get to see the journey of Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar. Once the screenplay is locked, the Telugu Drishyam producers also might join the plan of simultaneous release all across on the same date,” the source added.

Best experience of Drishyam 3 for Hindi and Malayalam audience

Drishyam 3

The thought behind this is to ensure a spoiler free experience for the viewers. “The power of Drishyam rests in the suspense and as it has happened in the past, there is a section that has already seen the version that arrives first.

Everyone working on Drishyam want to provide the best experience to it’s audience, and not spoil the twists and turns. Drishyam 3 will be the final film of the franchise and what better than having an experience of chills and thrills without having an idea of what next,” the source concluded.

Drishyam 3 is expected to go on floors sometime in 2024 and the exact timelines will be decided once the screenplay is locked.
Ajay Devgn is meanwhile gearing up for his next with Vikas Bahl in London and will follow that up with Singham Again.

Drishyam 3

DRISHYAM 3 COMING SOON
Drishyam 3 is now in the development stage. This has been reported by Pinkvilla and this time the Malayalam and Hindi writers are doing a joint collaboration. Abhishek Pathak and his team have cracked the basic plot for Drishyam 3.

It seems Jeethu Joseph loved the same and now they are developing the screenplay for Drishyam 3.
They are working together and now intend to shoot the Hindi and Malayalam versions at the same time. The idea is to release Drishyam 3 all over Indian on the same date.

The source was quoted as saying, “While Kerala will see the release in Malayalam with Mohanlal as Goerge Kutty, the rest of India will get to see the journey of Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar. Once the screenplay is locked, the Telugu Drishyam producers also might join the plan of simultaneous release.”

DRISHYAM 3 TO RETAIN THE SUSPENSE

Drishyam 3

One of the issues with the Drishyam films is that a large number of people watch the movie in Malayalam when it comes out there. Then, the comparisons begin and people give out spoilers too.

This is going to be the final movie of the Drishyam franchise. The makers want to give a truly unforgettable experience to all the film-goers.
The source added, “What better than having an experience of chills and thrills without having an idea of what next.” The shoot of the film will begin after the final screenplay is locked. A kickass screenplay is a must for suspense stories.

Now, Drishyam is going to be adapted in Korean. The script has been picked up by Anthology Studios.
Koreans are very fond of thrillers and Drishyam has the right amount of suspense and thrills. Jay Choi, Song Kang Ho of Parasite and Kim Jee Woon are behind the project.

Drishyam 3

Double treat for Drishyam fans! Ajay Devgn and Mohanlal to shoot Hindi and Malayalam versions of Drishyam 3 simultaneously.

In 2013, Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph teamed up to create the gripping thriller, Drishyam, which captivated audiences and spawned a Hindi remake starring Ajay Devgn in 2015.

Now, after the success of Drishyam 2, Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph are ready to bring the suspenseful saga to its conclusion with Drishyam 3. In fact, Mohanlal and Ajay will be shooting the film simultaneously to give a “spoiler-free” experience to the audience.

If a report by Pinkvilla is something to go by then Drishyam 3 is now in the development stage, with the creators working on a collaborative effort for both the Hindi and Malayalam versions.

A source told the portal, “Abhishek Pathak and his team of writers have cracked a basic core plot for Drishyam 3, which Jeethu Joseph and his team loved. They have taken the idea from the team of Hindi Drishyam and are now working towards developing it into a screenplay for Drishyam 3.”

Giving further details, the source added, “The idea is to have Drishyam 3 shot together and release them on the same date all across India. While Kerala will see the release in Malayalam with Mohanlal as Goerge Kutty, the rest of India will get to see the journey of Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar. Once the screenplay is locked, the Telugu Drishyam producers also might join the plan of simultaneous release all across on the same date.”

While concluding, the source said, “The power of Drishyam rests in the suspense and as it has happened in the past, there is a section that has already seen the version that arrives first. Everyone working on Drishyam wants to provide the best experience to its audience, and not spoil the twists and turns. Drishyam 3 will be the final film of the franchise and what better than to have an experience of chills and thrills without having an idea of what’s next.”

Drishyam 3 Release Date & Simultaneous Malayam Version Shooting

Drishyam 3

‘Drishyam 3’ is all set to go on floors. Ajay Devgn and Mohanlal will be shooting for their respective versions in Hindi and Malayalam.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, ‘Drishyam 3’ has gotten into the development stage and it will be a collaboration between the creators of Hindi and Malayalam.

A source cited the publication, “Abhishek Pathak and his team of writers have cracked
a basic core plot for Drishyam 3, which Jeethu Joseph and his team loved. They have taken the idea from the team of Hindi.
Drishyam and are now working towards developing it into a screenplay for Drishyam 3.”

The source further revealed, “The idea is to have Drishyam 3′ shot together and release them on the same date all across India. This is being done with the intention of protecting viewers from spoilers. “The power of Drishyam rests in the suspense and as it has happened in the past, there is a section that has already seen the version that arrives first. Everyone working on Drishyam want to provide the best experience to it’s audience, and not spoil the twists and turns.

Faqs on ‘Drishyam 3′

1) What is ‘Drishyam 3′ Release Date?

Ans) The movie is expected to hit the theatres in 2024.

2) What is ‘Drishyam 2′ (Ajay Devgn) Success?

Ans) Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 2 is one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2022.
Surpassing Gangubai, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa the worldwide collection stands at a
whopping 321.12 crores gross.

3) What is ‘Drishyam 2′ (Mohanlal) Success?

Ans) ’Drishyam 2′ was released theatrically worldwide on 18 November 2022 to positive
reviews. Critics particularly praised the performances, writing, cinematography and editing. The film grossed £100 crore (US$13

4) AJAY DEVGN AND REMAKES

Ans) Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam remakes have been the only South remakes in Hindi that have done well in recent times. And this is a big feather in the Bollywood star’s cap.

Bholaa stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobriyal, Gajraj Rao and Vineet Kumar.

In the same price range, the Phone (2) will likely be seen competing with phones like OnePlus 11R and Pixel 7a, which is a prediction based on the specifications that the company has officially confirmed. To recall, the Nothing Phone (1) was made available in India with a price tag of Rs 32,999.

Nothing Phone (2) design hinted by the company

The latest Nothing phone is expected to have a design similar to the Nothing Phone (1). This is something that the company has hinted in a recent interview and the rumour mill has also suggested previously.

When the company’s CEO Carl Pei was asked about Glyph Interface with LEDs at the back that we saw on the Phone (1), Pei asserted that the upcoming 5G phone will have more customization options and functionality.

This suggests that we will likely get to see the same design. The company has also hinted that the major focus this time is on improving and offering a better software experience to users.

Nothing Phone (2)

He didn’t explicitly mention we will get the same LED design at the back of the Phone (2), but the mention of more customization options suggests that Nothing is planning to offer an older design.

There are chances that the new Nothing phone could come with some changes at the back panel to offer users a refreshing look. The brand has previously confirmed that the new 5G phone features an aluminum side frame.
We will likely get more details on the design department soon as the launch event is nearing.

Nothing Phone (2): Expected specifications

The Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which the OnePlus 11R smartphone is also using.

The device sports a 6.7-inch display and a 4,700mAh battery under the hood. While the company hasn’t confirmed the charging details, we expect it to offer support for fast charging tech because the same was also available with the Nothing Phone (1).

The details of the camera sensors are yet to be revealed by the company.

Nothing also revealed that its new Phone (2) smartphone will be eligible to receive three years of Android OS upgrades and four years of security patches.

The company has promised that the latest Nothing OS build will offer a faster experience and more features to users.

We expect the device to ship with Android 13 OS out of the box because the company offers the latest operating system with its new device.

Nothing Phone (2) specifications (Expected)

Nothing has so far revealed the chipset and battery details of the Phone (2). Rest of the specifications are rumoured or speculated.

* Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, and pack a 4,700mAh battery.

* The smartphone’s display will be 0.15 inches bigger than the Nothing Phone (1) which means it will be a 6.7-inch screen as compared to the latter’s 6.55-inch display.

* On the Nothing Phone (2), the video indicator will be pill-shaped which is visible on the smartphone’s teaser image.

* The upcoming phone is also confirmed to receive three years of Android updates and four years of security updates.

* Nothing Phone (2) will be available in India as the company has already confirmed that it will be manufactured in Tamil Nadu by BYD Electronic which is a Shenzen-based manufacturer. The Nothing Phone (1) was also manufactured at the same facility.
It will also be the company’s most sustainable product with the phone’s parts and components will be made from recycled materials and sustainable plastic. The upcoming phone is also said to have a carbon footprint of 53.45kg, which is 5kg lower than the Phone (1).

Nothing Phone (2)

1) Nothing Phone (2) India Launch: What You Need to Know ?

Ans) Nothing Phone (2) India launch event will be hosted on July 11 at 8.30 PM. The company has confirmed the same while teasing the design. According to the teaser invite, the Phone (2) will get an updated Glyph Interface. The company seems to have worked on the LED lights design, which is now a bit more separated than what we have seen in the Phone (1). The noticeable differences are around the camera module and wireless charging lights.

These design changes seem to be in line with the leaked design renders of the Phone (2), which also revealed that the device will continue to feature a semi-transparent design. The upcoming Nothing smartphone is also supposedly a lot more curvier on the sides, according to the leaked renders. However, soon after the alleged design renders leaked, CEO Carl Pei took to Twitter and tweeted “fake”, suggesting that the leaked design renders are not completely accurate.

Meanwhile, what is confirmed is the Phone (2)’s display size. The device will sport a 6.7-inch display. It should feature an AMOLED panel and offer support for a 120Hz refresh rate. If the leaked design renders are true for the display bit at least, the device will feature a hole-punch cutout at the top left corner for the front camera. Also, the screen will remain flat on all sides.

Under the hood, the device will feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which will also help Nothing unlock many camera features due to the upgraded Spectra 570 image signal processor (ISP). This includes support for Raw HDR and 4K video recording at 60 fps.

In addition to this, the device is also confirmed to pack a 4700mAh battery. The upgrades might lead to a bump in the price. We can expect the device to launch in India for around Rs 40,000. Here’s a quick look at the Nothing Phone (2) specifications and features known so far:

Display: 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution.
Performance: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC
RAM/ storage: 8GB/ 12GB, 128GB/ 256GB.
Battery: 4700mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
Rear camera: 50MP main camera and 50MP ultra-wide camera.
Front camera: 32MP front camera.
Software: Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5 out of the box. Nothing OS 2.0 confirmed to be in works.
Other specifications: Glyph Interface, in-display fingerprint scanner, dual speakers, etc.

2) Nothing Phone (2) to launch on July 11.Details?

Ans) London-headquartered consumer tech company Nothing will launch the much-awaited successor to its maiden smartphone, the Phone (2), on July 11. The company will unveil Phone (2) in London — the launch event can be streamed online from 8.30 pm on Nothing’s official website.

The Phone (2) is the successor to Phone (1), easily one of the best-looking smartphones I’ve ever used or reviewed. The Phone (1) had a clean, stock Android interface and came with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. At launch, it was priced around Rs 33,000.
The Phone (2) is expected to be a more premium offering — the smartphone is confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and have a 4,700 mAh battery — slightly larger than the 4,500 mAh sported by its predecessor. This will also be the first time Nothing will sell a smartphone in the United States. The Phone (2) will run Nothing OS 2.0 out of the box.

Pricing and other details remain a mystery — for now. However, Nothing co-founder and CEO Carl Pei, in a recent interview with Forbes, said the price will be at a more acceptable level. ” …the latest technology comes at a cost which isn’t always justified from a user-benefit standpoint. Choosing Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 ensures that Phone (2) remains accessible while delivering a significantly improved experience compared to Phone (1),” Pei had said in the interview with Forbes.

The Nothing Phone (1) sported a dual camera array on the back — 50-megapixel primary and ultrawide shooters. It currently runs on the Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5. But the standout features were the snazzy glyph interface and the retro-chic user interface, simultaneously making this phone feel futuristic and a callback to the good old feature phones of yore.

The Phone (2) will become the fifth product in Nothing’s portfolio — joining the Ear (1), Phone (1), Ear (stick), and Ear (2).

Gadar 2: The Katha Continues: Release Date, Trailer, Songs, Cast; Deol Brothers Clash Gadar2 Vs Animal & More: The Return Of Sunny Deol’s Iconic Tara Singh

0

Sunny Deol fans, rejoice! The actor’s much-awaited action drama Gadar 2 is back. The sequel to the superhit 2001 film has Sunny Deol reprising his role as Tara Singh.
If the film’s teaser – which dropped on Monday – is anything to go by, things are only going to get bigger and better.

The teaser is set in 1971 and has a woman’s voiceover saying, “Damaad hai woh Pakistan ka. Use naariyal do, teeka lagao. Warna iss baar woh dahej mein Lahore le jaaega (He’s the son-in-law of Pakistan. Give him a grand welcome. Anoint him.  Or this time he will hijack Lahore).” The screen then cuts to Tara Singh getting off a bus in Lahore to face a crowd chanting anti-India slogans.

Gadar 2 will feature Ameesha Patel alongside Sunny Deol. The actress will reprise her role of Sakeena in the sequel. The film has been directed by Anil Sharma and produced by Zee Studios,  Anil Sharma Productions, and MM Moviez.

The first teaser of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s Gadar 2: The Katha Continues was unveiled by the makers on Monday. Gadar 2 is a sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which emerged as a blockbuster 22 years ago when it hit the theaters.

Set against the backdrop of the India-Pakistan Partition, it revolved around Tara Singh (played by Sunny Deol) and Pakistani woman Sakina (played by Ameesha Patel), who fall in love with each other.

The teaser of Gadar 2 has Deol reprising his role of Tara. This time around the story is set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971 when posters of ‘Crush India’ were pasted across Pakistan. The teaser begins with a voiceover reminding the audience about Tara’s connection with Pakistan after he married Sakina.

Gadar 2

Soon we get a glimpse of Tara Singh in Lahore. Just like the last time, this time too his ‘dhai kilo ka haath’ is enough to make his opponent gasp for breath.
But we also get to see his emotional side as he sits with tears in his eyes at a burial ground.
The makers have retained the song ‘Ghar aa ja pardesi” from Gadar’s soundtrack. However, the makers refrained from showing Ameesha in the teaser.

The film is helmed by Anil Sharma, who also directed the original, which featured a strong performance from the late actor Amrish Puri. Besides Deol and Patel, Sharma’s son Utkarsh, who played the role of Tara and Sakeena’s young son Jeete Singh, will also be reprising his role in the sequel.

Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’s soundtrack by Uttam Singh remains popular to this day.

However, the music composer has not returned for Gadar 2.

Deol had earlier expressed his excitement about returning as Tara Singh. He said in a statement, “Gadar – Ek Prem Katha has been an eminent part of my life, personally as well as professionally. Tara Singh from Gadar isn’t just a protagonist but went on to become a cult icon that defied all odds and crossed all boundaries for his family and love. Collaborating with the team after, 22 years was a creatively enriching experience.”

Before the teaser, the makers upped the excitement of cinephiles with the posters of Gadar 2 which featured Deol and his popular dialogue from Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, “Hindustan Zindabaad Hai….Zindabaad Tha.. .aur Zindabaad Rahega!” The 2001 film was also re-released in the theaters on June 9 to mark its 22nd anniversary.

Gadar 2: The Katha Continues will hit the theaters on August 11. The film will face a box office clash with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.
Gadar: Ek Prem Katha also clashed with Aamir Khan’s Lagaan upon its release in 2001.

For the unversed, the first film, Gadar, was set against the backdrop of the India-Pakistan partition and revolved around the love story between India’s Tara Singh and Pakistan’s Sakeena.

Speaking about the film Sunny Deol said, “Gadar – Ek Prem Katha has been an eminent part of my life, personally as well as professionally. Tara Singh from Gadar isn’t just a protagonist but went on to become a cult icon that defied all odds and crossed all boundaries for his Family and Love. Collaborating with the team after 22 years was a creatively enriching experience.”

Earlier, Ameesha Patel shared some images from the sets of the film with the caption, “Gadar 2 shoot mode. Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sakeena (me) in deep conversations… Any guesses what we are talking about?”

In addition to Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, the film will also star Utkarsh Sharma, Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra, Luv Sinha, and Simrat Kaur. Gadar 2 will be released in theatres on August 11.

Faqs on Gadar 2

1) Gadar 2, OMG 2 and Animal to clash at the box office on August 11: Experts says this three-way clash is not a good move.Details?

Ans) Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 will be locking horns with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 at the box office on Independence Day weekend, and we talk to industry insiders to figure out if it is a healthy.

Films clashing at the box office is no big deal, and there have been ample instances where both the releases have worked well, or, at times, one overshadowed the other. And Independence Day weekend this year already seems to be quite exciting already with three big films — Gadar 2, OMG 2 and Animal — locking horns on August 11.

However, experts in the film fraternity wonder if this is an ideal scenario, especially after the pandemic when there’s already so much of backlog of films to be cleared. Also, because of the dismaying revival of the big screen business, this three-way clash isn’t being looked at as a good move.

“This three-way clash is only an overkill,” exclaims film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi with disappointment, adding, “The 15th August weekend is lucrative date for a lot of people, but since we are just emerging from the damages inflicted upon the industry during the pandemic, it’s important that we space out the releases in a way that every week we have enough content.”

Rathi also points that besides these Hindi releases, there might be other language movies coming out, too, including one project starring Rajinikanth. “There will be maragiri. The fraternity needs to be more pragmatic and make sure that they space out with every tent-pole project and have a gap of at least one week. We can serve ourselves by being in sync with each other,” he explains.

Echoing the same sentiment, trade expert Taran Adarsh feels the common man doesn’t have the time or the money or the inclination to watch three big films in one weekend.
“It’s not a healthy trend. Everyone has budget constraints. In fact, exhibitors and distributors will also be fighting among themselves to get enough screen and the shows. Everyone has a right to think of the release date, but they also need to look at the bigger picture at the moment,” he opines.

When it comes to 2023 film releases, only a handful of projects including Pathaan, The Kerala Story, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, have managed to rake in some money. Industry experts feel there’s a need to inculcate the habit of regular cinema going, which will only be deterred by such clashes.

Producer and trade expert Girish Johar weighs in and stresses that when the box office numbers aren’t comign in and audience is already dwindling with each film, such a huge clash will only lead to chaos.

“We had summer months — May and June, with no big release, and now three good films will come out together. It is not a good sign because eventually the fraternity will lose. Someone who probably could have made a bit more, will lose out because of the competition,” he notes.

Stating that three films clashing is a “suicide”, Manoj Desai, Executive Director of G7 multiplex and Maratha Mandir Cinema, adds in agreement: “After the pandemic, people prefer to go out of town during such weekends. So, they need to change their mindset while planning the release calendar. They need to focus on revving the business, and move accordingly.”

Given that theatre going audience has significantly reduced in the post-pandemic era, many feel such clashes will further divide the footfall and nobody would benefit.

“We need to space out to give everyone a chance at recovery. And people also don’t have such a budget to watch more than one film in a weekend, considering the prices of the tickets,” says Zara Hatke Zara Bachke director Laxman Utekar.
Producer Ramesh Taurani, too, believes that this clash should be avoided, and is hoping one of the films gets pushed. “This year, we don’t have many big projects, or the next year, so we need to avoid clashes and space out so that everyone has a chance to make money,” he says.

Shedding light from the viewpoint of cinema halls, Devang Sampat, CEO, Cinepolis, shares a different perspective and says that the biggest weekend from an exhibitor point of view has always been where you have multiple releases. “That has been the strength of Indian film industry. And we hope it continues to be. It is not clashing with the audience getting more options. We have screens to accommodate. It is good and not bad for us. And when it comes to a film working, it is not about paying capacity, but good content. If a film is good, it will work,” he asserts.

2) ‘Gadar 2’ teaser: Sunny Deol returns to Lahore, extracts a wheel?

Ans) The makers of Gadar 2: The Katha Continues unveiled the film’s teaser on Monday. Starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, the film is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.
In the first film, set in 1947, a Sikh truck driver with a golden heart, Tara Singh (Deol), falls in love with Sakeena (Patel), a rich Pakistani woman. Their romance plays out against the bloody carnage of Partition and continues after the creation of East and West Pakistan.

In Gadar 2, set in 1971, we see Tara Singh journeying once more to Lahore, the seat of Sakeena’s home. He is described in voiceover as ‘damaad’ (son-in-law) of Pakistan. We glimpse posters of ‘Crush India’, a populist anti-India slogan that emerged in Pakistan during the 1971 war. Standing tall in a hostile crowd, Tara Singh once again blows his gasket, uprooting a giant cartwheel this time instead of a handpump and flinging it with force.
The 69-second teaser ends with Tara kneeling mournfully in a burial ground. The film presents, once more, the mingling of personal emotions and nationalistic pride that made the original a hit.

Gadar 2 is directed by Anil Sharma, who also helmed the 2001 original. The director’s son, Utkarsh, who played Tara Singh and Sakeena’s son Charanjeet in the first film, will reprise his role in the follow-up.
The original Gadar was recently re-released in theatres ahead of the sequel. Gadar 2: The Katha Continues will arrive in cinemas on August 11, 2023. Like its predecessor, which had famously locked horns with Aamir Khan-starrer Lagaan, Gadar 2 is also in for a box-office clash, with Sandeep Reddy Vanga-Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Akshay Kumar-led OMG 2 releasing on the same date.

3) Entertainment Top Stories: Gadar 2: Sunny Deol as Tara Singh is back, Allu Arjun, Hrithik Roshan hug.Details?

Ans) The teaser of ‘Gadar 2’ gives a glimpse into the world of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol). The film continues from where the first part ended. Picture Perfect! Allu Arjun, Hrithik Roshan hug as Aamir Khan looks on. Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol’s house decorated with lights and flowers ahead of his wedding this week. Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has made allegations against the Indian government over requests to censor certain accounts that were critical of the government.
Dorsey said that he received requests during the farmer protests, and there were even threats of shutting down Twitter in India. Union Minister Rajeev Chandasekhar, on the other hand, has called the allegation an “outright lie”.

Twitter’s co-founder and former boss Jack Dorsey has reiterated that the platform received “many requests” from the Indian government to block accounts covering farmers’ protests and those critical of the government.
He has also said that the platform was threatened with “a shut down” and conducting raids at its employees’ homes in the country.

Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar responded to Dorsey’s claims, saying that under him, Twitter was in “repeated and continuous violations of India law” and at times “weaponised misinformation”.

It is worth noting that Twitter’s new CEO Elon Musk also has a similar view of India’s social media regulations, having previously called them “strict”. In April this year, Musk had said that he would rather comply with the government’s blocking orders than risk sending Twitter employees to jail.

Musk was possibly referring to India’s Information Technology Rules, 2021, under which a senior representative of social media companies – called the chief compliance officer – can be potentially jailed for violating the norms.

We will shut you down if you don’t follow suit’

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey

During an interview late Monday night to YouTube channel Breaking Points, when asked about the pressures he had received from foreign governments during his time as CEO of Twitter, Dorsey said, “India is a country that had many request of us around the farmers protest, around particular journalists that were critical of the government, and it manifested in ways such as ‘we will shut Twitter down in India,’ which is a very large market for us; ‘we will raid the homes of your employees,’ which they did; ‘we will shut down your offices, if you don’t follow suit,’ and this is India, a democratic country”.

At the height of the farmers’ protest in the country in 2021, the Centre had asked Twitter to take down nearly 1,200 accounts for alleged “Khalistan” links. Before that, it had asked the platform to take down more than 250 accounts.

Twitter had responded by blocking some of the accounts but subsequently unblocked them, which had irked the IT ministry.

Later in its reply, Twitter had refused to block these accounts further citing freedom of speech on its platform.
The reply, however, had not gone down well with the Government, which had said that the platform could not possibly “assume the role of a court and justify non-compliance”.

In May 2021, days after Twitter flagged some posts by ruling party leaders alleging a Congress plot to malign the Prime Minister and the Central Government as “manipulated media”, a team of Delhi Police’s Special Cell — working under the Union Home Ministry — knocked on the doors of Twitter India’s Delhi and Gurgaon offices to ostensibly serve the social media platform a notice.

‘Outright lie’ by Dorsey: MoS IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey

Reacting to Dorsey’s claims, Chandrasekhar said that no one from Twitter went to jail nor was the platform “shutdown” despite the fact that they were in “non-compliance with law repeatedly from 2020 to 2022 and it was only in June 2022 when they finally complied”.

“Dorsey’s Twitter regime had a problem accepting the sovereignty of Indian law. It behaved as if the laws of India did not apply to it,” Chandrasekhar said. “India as a sovereign nation has the right to ensure that its laws are followed by all companies operating in India.”

He added that the Centre was “obligated” to issue takedown orders during the farmers’ protest in 2021 since there was “a lot of misinformation and reports of genocide which were definitely fake”.

“Such was the level of partisan behaviour on Twitter under Jack’s regime, that they had a problem removing misinformation from the platform in India, when they did it themselves when similar events took place in the USA,” he said.

Growing trend of Online Censorship

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey

There has been a significant surge in legal demands being made by India — from various courts and the government — to remove content from Twitter between 2014 and 2020, an analysis of Twitter’s global transparency reports by The Indian Express had earlier shown.

Incidentally, in the same time period, the number of content blocking orders issued to social media companies by the government has also increased by almost 2,000 per cent, data shared with Parliament showed, highlighting the growing trend of online censorship in India.

In the first six months of 2021, Twitter was asked by various Indian courts and the government to block a little more than 4,900 tweets — this coincided with the company blocking more than 250 accounts in relation to sharing “provocative” tweets over the then ongoing farmers’ protests and the company receiving orders from the government to take down some tweets critical of the government’s handling of Covid-19.

Twitter suing the Centre

In July 2022, Twitter initiated legal action against some of the government missives ordering it to take down certain content posted on the microblogging site.
Alleging disproportionate use of power by officials, the social media company moved the Karnataka High Court Tuesday against the Ministry’s content-blocking orders issued under Section 69 (A) of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Jack Dorsey Interview

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey

In an interview with YouTube channel Breaking Points, Dorsey responded to questions asked about receiving any pressure from foreign governments.
Here, he said that the Indian government made many requests to censor accounts of journalists that were critical of the government during the farmer protests. The farmer protests took place in India between 2020 and 2021 during which Dorsey was serving as the CEO of Twitter.

The Indian government also made threats to shut Twitter down in the country, and to raid the homes of its employees, as per Dorsey. “We will shut down your offices if you don’t follow suit… We will raid homes of your employees, which they did,” Dorsey was quoted as saying in the interview. “And this is India, a democratic country,” he added. This did happen though in 2021 when Twitter offices were raided over the social platform labelling one BJP spokesperson’s tweet as “manipulated media”.

Indian government refutes Dorsey’s claims

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey

Rajeev Chandasekhar, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of India, refuted the claims made by Dorsey in a tweet.

Chandrashekhar said that “Dorsey and his team were in repeated and continuous violations of Indian law from 2020 to 2022. The company finally complied with India’s laws in June 2022. He added that Dorsey’s Twitter had a problem with India’s sovereign law.”

On the requests made to censor tweets, the minister said that these were made to stop the spread of misinformation on the platform. During the protests there were fake information spreading on Twitter and the government was “obligated to remove misinformation from the platform because it had the potential to further inflame the situation based on fake news.”

“There is ample evidence now in public domain abt Jacks twitter’s arbitrary, blatantly partisan n discriminatory conduct and misuse of its power on its platform during that period,” he added in the tweet.

Dorsey is no longer the CEO of Twitter as he quit from the position last year. The position was taken over by Indian-origin Parag Agrawal. Twitter was later bought by Elon Musk after which he fired Agrawal followed by Dorsey stepping down from the company’s board  of directors.

1) ’Outright lie’: Govt rejects ex-Twitter CEO Dorsey’s ‘shut down’, ‘raid’ claims.Details?

Ans) Dorsey alleged that Twitter was threatened with shut downs in India, Nigeria and Turkey unless it complied with orders to restrict accounts.

Union minister Rajeev Chandrashekar on Tuesday rejected Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey’s claim that the Indian government put pressure on the social media company to block accounts covering farmers’ protest, calling it an “outright lie” and “an attempt to brush out that very dubious period” of firm’s history.

In a YouTube Show ‘Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar’, the former Twitter boss alleged that the Indian government threatened to shut down the social media platform in India and raid the houses of staff.

When asked if he had faced any pressure from foreign governments, Dorsey, who stepped down from Twitter’s board last year, replied, “India for example, India is one of the countries which had many requests around farmers protests, around particular journalists which were critical of the government, and it manifested in ways such as ‘we will shut Twitter down in India’… ‘we would raid the homes of your employees’, which they did; ‘we will shut down your offices if you don’t follow suit’. And this is India, a democratic country.”

Responding to the serious allegations, Chandrashekar said Twitter under Jack Dorsey repeatedly violated Indian law between 2020-22 and complied only in June 2022, weeks after billionaire investor Elon Musk initiated an acquisition of the social media giant. He alleged that Twitter had a problem accepting the “sovereignty of India law” and behaved “as if the laws of India did not apply to it.”

“No one went to jail nor was Twitter ‘shutdown’…India as a sovereign nation has the right to ensure that its laws are followed by all companies operating in India,” the Union minister of state for Electronics and Technology said in a tweet.

There was a lot of misinformation and fake reports of genocide doing rounds on Twitter during the farmers’ protest in 2021, the minister said, and the Indian government was “obligated to remove misinformation from the platform because it had the potential to further inflame the situation based on fake news.”

Chandrashekhar pointed to Twitter’s action prompt action in removing misinformation during the US Capitol attack in January 2020 but they had a “problem removing misinformation from the platform in India,” alleging partisan behaviour of the America-based company under Jack Dorsey.

“To set the record straight, no one was raided or sent to jail. Our focus was only on ensuring the compliance of Indian laws,” he asserted.

To be sure, Delhi Police officers visited Twitter offices in South Delhi’s Lado Sarai and Golf Course Road in Gurugram in May 2021 in connection with a tweet by Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) national spokesperson Sambit Patra about an alleged toolkit released by the Congress party that the microblogging site tagged as “manipulated media.” A police team from Lodhi Colony’s special cell visited the offices to secure the participation of Twitter’s managing director Manish Maheshwari as part of the probe.

2) ‘Outright lie’: India denies Dorsey’s claims it threatened to shut down Twitter.Details?

Ans) India threatened to shut down Twitter in the country unless it complied with orders to restrict accounts critical of the handling of farmer protests, co-founder Jack Dorsey said, an accusation Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government called an “outright lie”.

Dorsey, who quit as Twitter CEO in 2021, said on Monday that India had also threatened the company with raids on employees if it did not comply with government requests to take down certain posts.

“It manifested in ways such as: ‘We will shut Twitter down in India’, which is a very large market for us; ‘we will raid the homes of your employees’, which they did; And this is India, a democratic country,” Dorsey said in an interview with YouTube news show Breaking Points.
Deputy Minister for Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar, a top ranking official in Modi’s government, lashed out against Dorsey in response, calling his assertions an “outright lie”.
“No one went to jail nor was Twitter ‘shut down’. Dorsey’s Twitter regime had a problem accepting the sovereignty of Indian law,” he said in a post on Twitter.

Dorsey’s comments again put the spotlight on the struggles faced by foreign technology giants operating under Modi’s rule. His government has often criticized Google, Facebook and Twitter for not doing enough to tackle fake or “anti-India” content on their platforms, or for not complying with rules.

The former Twitter CEO’s comments drew widespread attention as it is unusual for global companies operating in India to publicly criticise the government. Last year, Xiaomi in a court filing said India’s financial crime agency threatened its executives with “physical violence” and coercion, an allegation which the agency denied.

Several top Indian officials criticized Dorsey’s remarks and Twitter’s past handling of misinformation. But many opposition lawmakers accused the government of muzzling the voices of farmers during the 2020-2021 protest, one of the severest challenges Modi has faced.

The government eventually gave in to the protesters and repealed laws that they said were anti-farmer.
“It shows that everyone who dares to show the smallest bit of courage will be suppressed,” said Supriya Shrinate, a spokesperson for the main opposition Congress party.
Dorsey also mentioned similar pressure from governments in Turkey and Nigeria, which had restricted the platform in their nations at different points over the years before lifting those bans.

Twitter was bought by Elon Musk in a $44 billion deal last year.
Chandrasekhar said Twitter under Dorsey and his team had repeatedly violated Indian law. He did not name Musk, but added Twitter had been in compliance since June 2022.
BIG TECH VS MODI.

Modi and his ministers are prolific users of Twitter, but free speech activists say his administration resorts to excessive censorship of content it thinks is critical of its working. India maintains its content removal orders are aimed at protecting users and sovereignty of the state.

The public spat with Twitter during 2021 saw Modi’s government seeking an “emergency blocking” of the “provocative” Twitter hashtag “#ModiPlanningFarmerGenocide” and dozens of accounts.
Twitter initially complied with the government requests but later restored most of the accounts, citing “insufficient justification”, leading to officials threatening legal consequences.

In subsequent weeks, police visited a Twitter office as part of another probe linked to tagging of some ruling party posts as manipulated. Twitter at the time said it was worried about staff safety.

Dorsey in his interview said many India content take down requests during the farmer protests were “around particular journalists that were critical of the government.”
Since Modi took office in 2014, India has slid from 140th in World Press Freedom Index to 161 this year, out of 180 countries, its lowest ranking ever.
