1) What are Vivo X Fold 2 leaks? What are expected specs of Vivo X Fold 2?

Ans) According to the screenshot , the Vivo X Fold 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC from Qualcomm, which is the San Diego chipmaker’s latest flagship mobile processor.

The device further includes 12GB memory and 512GB internal storage, and runs on Android 13. All of this adds up to a score of 1,318,092 points — which is higher than the highest-ranked Android smartphone on AnTuTu at the moment.

To be sure, China-based OEM Nubia’s Red Magic 8 Pro+ is the top Android smartphone on AnTuTu at the moment, with a score of 1,304,235 points.

Apart from this, a previous leak has also tipped further specifications of the device. These include the presence of an 8-inch E6 AMOLED foldable display on the inside, with 120Hz refresh rate at 2K screen resolution.

There could also be a triple rear camera with a 50MP Sony IMX866 sensor for the primary unit with OIS support, and two 12MP Sony IMX663 sensors for ultra-wide and telephoto units.

The external display is also tipped to feature an under-display fingerprint scanner, and the entire setup is tipped to be powered by a 4,800mAh battery with 120W fast charging.

To be sure, the first-gen Vivo X Fold was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It featured an 8.03-inch 2K+ LTPO AMOLED folding display with 120Hz refresh rate, and a 6.53-inch AMOLED display on the outside with 120Hz refresh rate too.

It also featured four rear cameras, with an additional 8MP telephoto unit with 5x optical zoom, and the ultra-wide unit using a 48MP sensor.

It also featured under-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6 and 5G in connectivity, two 16MP selfie cameras, and a 4,600mAh battery with 66W charging — many of which may be carried over to the new Vivo X Fold 2 as well.

2) What are Vivo X Fold 2 Specifications?

Ans) Reports have claimed that the X Fold 2 has a 120Hz foldable AMOLED display with 2K resolution. The cover and inner screens will feature ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanners.

It will have a 4,800mAh battery with 120W fast charging. On the back, it will feature a 50-megapixel (Sony IMX866, with OlS) + 12-megapixel (IMX663, ultra-wide) + 12-megapixel (IMX663, telephoto) triple camera unit.

Apart from the Vivo X Fold 2, Vivo will also announce the Vivo X Flip and Vivo Pad 2 in April for the home market.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman : iOS 17 was meant to be a bug fix update, plans changed to bring new features

0
iOS 17

HIGHLIGHTS

* Tech giant Apple is likely to release the iOS 17 at its WWDC event in June.
* The upcoming update will be more than fixing bugs, says analyst Mark Gurman.
* The tech giant will also likely unveil its mixed-reality headset at the event.

Tech giant Apple has changed its plan for the iOS 17 later in the development process to add several new features, indicating that the upcoming update may be more important than was thought before, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

In a recent issue of his Power On newsletter, Gurman says that iOS 17 was supposed to be more about fixing bugs and improving performance than adding new features, but it will now come with some interesting features.

Gurman had earlier said in January that iOS 17, which would likely be previewed at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, may not be as important as other iPhone updates because the company was putting more much effort into making its mixed-reality headset.

iOS 17

Each year Apple releases a major update for iOS, the operating system on your iPhone.
The current version, released last year, is iOS 16, and it doesn’t take a genius to predict that 2023 will see the launch of iOS 17.

This free software update will bring a raft of interface tweaks, bug fixes, and new features. It’s like getting a new iPhone without paying a penny.

Gurman explained that a change of strategy during the update’s development process has added several new features:

When Apple set out to develop iOS 17, the initial thinking was to call it a tuneup release — one focused more on fixing bugs and improving performance than adding new features (not unlike the approach the company took with Snow Leopard on Mac OS X back in 2009).

The hope was to avoid the problems of iOS 16, an ambitious update that suffered from missed deadlines and a buggy start.

But later in the development process, the strategy changed. The iOS 17 release is now expected to boast several “nice to have” features, even if it lacks a tentpole improvement like last year’s revamped lock screen. The goal of the software, codenamed “Dawn,” is to check off several of users’ most requested features.

iOS 17 Release Date: When will iOS 17 Arrive?

iOS 17

iOS 17 will be announced and demonstrated at WWDC 2023 in June, and then rolled out to iPhones across the world in fall 2023, almost certainly in mid-September. (The last time an iOS update was released outside September was iOS 5 back in October 2011). It’s likely to follow closely on the heels of the iPhone 15 launch event.

There was a gap of five days between the iPhone and iOS update in 2022, and six days in 2021.

Over th epast several years, the release of the new version of iOS has been fairly consistent:

* iOS 16: Monday, September 12, 2022
* iOS 15: Monday, September 20, 2021
* iOS 14: Wednesday, September 16,
2020
* iOS 13: Thursday, September 19, 2019
* iOS 12: Monday, September 17, 2018

Before this happens, a series of beta versions of iOS 17 will be released to testers, beginning with the first developer beta on the day of WWDC 2023. Here’s the expected timeline:

* Early to mid-June 2023: iOS 17 is announced at WWDC, and the first developer beta is released.
* July 2023: Apple releases the first public beta of iOS 17.
* June to September 2023: Apple releases a series of additional developer and public betas.
* Early September 2023: The iPhone 15 is announced.
* Mid-September 2023: The final public version of iOS 17 is released.

iOS 17 Update: New Features Expected

iOS 17

According to Gurman, when Apple started working on iOS 17, the plan was to call it a “tuneup version” that focused on addressing problems and improving performance rather than adding new features.

The objective was to avoid the pitfalls that hampered iOS 16, an ambitious release that suffered from missed deadlines and a shaky start. However, the strategy was altered later in the development process.

The iOS 17 release is now likely to include a number of “nice to have” additions, even if it misses a major upgrade like last year’s overhauled lock screen.

The software, dubbed “Dawn,” aims to fulfils several of users’ “most often requested functions.”

As per reports, the upcoming update could include a next-generation CarPlay experience, tweaks to Siri, support for sideloading and rival app stores, compatibility for Apple’s mixed-reality headset, other improvements, and new features.

Meanwhile, according to a recent report, Apple may be nearing completion of its long-awaited mixed reality headset, which could debut at the WWDC event and begin shipping in Fall 2023. It is expected to cost up to USD 3,000 (Rs 2,46,650).

iOS 17: Rumored new features

iOS 17

After including numerous new features in iOS 16, including a new Lock Screen, unsending iMessage, and the iCloud Shared Photo Library, but early reports indicate that iOS 17 will have ‘fewer major changes’ than usual.

According to Mark Gurman, Apple has shifted resources to development of software for its AR headset, tentatively called xrOS. A report in early January indicated that its headset development had “cost it some new features in iOS 17.”

A later report from less-reliable LeaksApplePro echoed Gurman’s comments, saying iOS 17 will focus on “stability and efficiency” and “there won’t be many visual changes.”

iOS 17: New features we hope to see

iOS 17

Since this year’s release is rumored to be more maintenance and smaller improvements than flashy new features, we’ve focused on things we want to see improved in iOS 17-little tweaks that will make a big difference in how we use our phones.

Apple certainly doesn’t come to us for advice about this stuff (and it’s too late to make major changes anyway), but it’s instructive to see how well “what we want” lines up with “what Apple delivers.”

For what it’s worth, Apple actually delivered several of our iOS 16 Wishlist features, and if iOS 17 brings us more of the changes on this year’s list, we’ll consider that a success.

App Library Overhaul

iOS 17

First introduced with iOS 14, the App Library is a good fundamental idea: Let your home screen be cluttered with only those apps you truly use every day and hide the dozens of other apps on your iPhone away from view.

It’s just a bad design! Apps are stuffed automatically into category folders that don’t always match up with what you’d expect.

I have two Fender guitar apps on my iPhone. Fender Tune is in the Entertainment folder where it doesn’t belong, and Fender Play is in Other.

Intuitively, these belong in the same folder, which should probably be Creativity. Everyone I know has numerous examples like this.

The folders are represented by four icons, three of which are actual app icons that open the app when you tap on them and the fourth is a group of four more tiny app icons that open the folder.

iOS 17

This is an interaction and interface model that doesn’t exist anywhere else in iOS and iPadOS, and it’s not intuitive. Oh, and all the folders and their contents move around and change so you can’t develop muscle memory.

Tapping the search box at the top of the App Library gives you an alphabetical list, which is a much simpler and intuitive way to find an app. It should be the default view—or be able to be set as the default view.

At the very least, make the folders in the App Library work like folders throughout iOS.
Don’t move them around, make them so you open the folder when you tap on them and never one of the apps within. And maybe incorporate a number showing how many apps are in the folder.

Third-party app Stores

iOS 17

A recent report claims that Apple will start to open up the iPhone in iOS 17, allowing the distribution of apps outside of Apple’s own App Store, the use of NFC for touchless payments beyond Apple Pay, browsers that don’t have to use Apple’s Webkit rendering engine, and more.

It’s all necessary to comply with the EU’s new Digital Markets Act, and the expectation is that it will only apply to those iPhones running iOS 17 in the regions covered by EU law.
Apple should go ahead and make the changes-whatever they are-global.

Naturally, we expect Apple to do the minimum possible to be in compliance with the Digital Markets Act, and we’re probably going to be in for a round of hearings and lawsuits and such saying that Apple isn’t in full compliance.

still think whatever limited additional choice and freedom the EU iPhone users get will be a good thing, and would be good for users the world over, on balance. Moreover, it might be a smart move by Apple.

The company is under antitrust scrutiny in several other markets, including the U.S. It could take a lot of heat off itself by offering the same solution that satisfied EU regulators, possibly preventing even stricter remedies in other regions.

It would also make iOS easier to maintain and test as a single cohesive release, rather than fragmenting iOS into regional variants.

Better Siri

iOS 17

Siri is definitely getting better and got a nice set of improvements in iOS 15 and iOS 16. It finally got offline processing, which speeds things up a lot and improves privacy.

It also got a bit smarter and more reliable and is a lot better about understanding what is on the screen and reacting to it.

But Siri simply isn’t getting good enough fast enough. Not a day goes by that I don’t ask my Google Assistant something to which I get a good answer, and then—just out of curiosity—I ask Siri as well, and Siri fails.

The emphasis on new large language models such as ChatGPT is moving the bar for how we expect to be able to converse with AI. Siri needs more than just a “20 percent better than last year!” update, it needs a big forward leap that you can hear and feel every time you use it.

It needs to sound better, work better, do more, and be right more often. It needs to truly feel conversational.

Siri kicked off the first generation of smartphone AI and fell behind. Wouldn’t it be great if Siri was the first true “next-generation” smartphone AI?

2FA for all

There’s this awesome feature in iOS that takes 2FA authentication codes you receive via SMS and makes them an autofill option just above the keyboard.

This allows you to fill in the code without jumping away from the app or website that requested it and back again.

The only problem is that this only works with 2FA codes from SMS or Apple’s built-in
Passwords feature.

We don’t suggest using SMS for 2FA codes unless you have to-they’re not as secure as they should be.

I’m go you regarding Akebar Mira could affect the Using the built-in password manager to generate codes isn’t a great option either because it really only works well on your iPhone-if you ever need to log in anywhere else, it’s a real pain to jump three layers deep in Settings to get your code.

And some businesses mandate the use of certain 2FA apps. We’d love for Apple to provide a framework for one-time-password code generation apps such as Authy, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and others so they can securely autofill codes when requested just like Messages.

Call screening

CallBar X Tweak Fixes The Obnoxious iPhone Call Screen - iOS Hacker

Spam calls are out of control, and Apple should be using every tool in its arsenal to solve one of the biggest annoyances plaguing every smartphone user.

For some time now, Google Assistant has been able to screen calls from unknown callers on Android phones.

It can produce text transcripts and recordings, too. This seems like a thing Siri should be able to do. In fact, Apple should go a step further and build an iCloud call spam service.

These apps and services already exist, but they require you to set up a call-forwarding service-Apple, with low-level access to the operating system, could make this easy and seamless.

Just like the iCloud Private Relay service, this should be an obvious feature for a company that bills itself as the “security and privacy” smartphone choice.

More Dynamic Island

Apple debuts iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max - Apple

The Dynamic Island is a wonderful interface convention that we expect to see on all four iPhone models this year.

But it can do more! New notifications should flow out of the Dynamic Island when they come in instead of just sliding down from the top of the screen, and the option to see how many unread notifications you have would be useful too. Maybe Siri could suggest new Live Activities based on the apps you use.

But most importantly, the Dynamic Island should not be a place for notifications to live, just where they briefly appear when they first come in.

The use of this area is clear: it’s for persistent background activities and “here and then gone forever” toasts like the Face ID authentication or AirPods connecting.

Version unification

iOS 17 superguide: Release date, features, rumors | Macworld

There’s no good reason for Apple’s ecosystem to have fragmented version numbers that are hard to keep track of.

More than ever before, the software is updated in sync with features meant to work together, so why do we have one version number of iOS and iPadOS and tvOS, another for watchOS, and another for macOS?

This is only going to get worse when the Reality headset is released and has xrOS 1 or something similar.

Just jump everything ahead to 17. Or better yet, version 20. Why not? After all, Apple skipped the iPhone 9 entirely, jumped tvOS to version 17 out of the blue, and kept macOS at version 10 for more than a decade.

FAQ’s on iOS 17 Compatibility

1) iOS 17 compatibility: Which iPhones will be able to run iOS 17?

Ans) Our best guess is that the iPhone XS and later will be able to run iOS 17. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, and the iPhone X which came out the same year, are all on the borderline.

They may miss out, or they may squeak through and get another year of software support.
Apple, unfortunately, doesn’t follow a strict system where iPhones lose support after a specified number of years.

Some years Apple doesn’t remove any devices from the list of supported devices; last year, by contrast, it removed the 6s and 7 generations in a single stroke. (Optimists may hope that this unusually harsh year will be followed by a more lenient one.)

If you’ve got an iPhone 7, 1st-gen iPhone SE, or anything earlier than those devices, however, you definitely won’t be able to install iOS 17 since they aren’t compatible with get iOS 16.

* iPhone 7, iPhone SE (2016), and earlier: Not compatible
* iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus: Possibly compatible
* iPhone X: Possibly compatible
* iPhone XS, XS Max, XR: Probably compatible
* iPhone 11 and later: Definitely compatible

Even if your chosen device is granted another year of software support, it’s worth noting that older iPhones may not get the full range of new features.

2) iOS 17: How to install the beta and full version?

Ans) Once the final release comes out, installing iOS 17 will be a breeze. Open the Settings app on your iPhone and go to General > Software Update; iOS will check for any available updates and guide you through the process of installing them.

You simply have to follow the instructions, which we explain in our iOS updating guide. And it’s easier still if you’ve turned on Automatic Updates, which you can do from the same screen.

But you can also install betas both leading up to the main release of iOS 17 and through the year following its release. there are two types-developer betas, which arrive first, and public betas, which generally show up a day or two later.

If you want to install a developer beta, you need, unsurprisingly, to be a registered Apple software developer.

This costs $99 a year and will give you priority access to all of Apple’s betas, including macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. A better option for most would be to go for the public beta instead: these come out later than the developer betas, but they are free, and still give you bragging rights with your friends.

Apple is changing the way betas are installed in iOS 16.4, and they are now tied to Apple IDs rather than profiles, so the process is a little friendlier than before. You can sign up to receive betas at the Apple Beta Software Program site.

In either case, it’s important to stress that betas are not finished software and are likely to contain bugs.

That’s kind of the point of testing them. So be prepared for things to go wrong, maybe catastrophically, and we don’t recommend that you install a beta on your primary device. If that doesn’t put you off, follow our iOS beta installation guide.

Nothing Phone (2) spotted on BIS certification website to feature Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1; India Launch Soon

0
Nothing Phone (2)

HIGHLIGHTS

* The Nothing Phone (2) has been spotted on the Indian BIS certification website ahead of launch.
* The BIS listing suggests that the India launch of the device might be imminent.
* The device will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

A report that surfaced last month claimed that the model number of the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) is A065.

Nothing Phone (2)

Since Nothing’s Phone (1) came out in India last year, its follow-up is also likely to come out in the country.

A new Nothing device with model number AIN065 has appeared in the database of the BIS authority.

It appears to be the Indian variant of the Phone (2). The BIS listing is a good hint that the company could be planning to launch the smartphone in the coming weeks.

Nothing Phone (2)

The BIS listing has no information on the specifications of the device. However, recent reports have revealed some of its details.

First of all, earlier this month, a Qualcomm executive accidentally revealed that the Phone (2) will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. Hence, it appears that the device will be packed with top-notch specifications.

Nothing Phone (2)

Nothing confirmed the arrival of its Nothing Phone (2) smartphone. The Nothing Phone (2) is likely going to be an upper mid-range smartphone and will likely be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

The device is expected to launch sometime in Q2/Q3 2023, and ahead of the official release, the Nothing Phone (2) has been spotted on the Indian BIS certification authority website, which hints at an imminent launch in the country.

Let’s take a look.

Nothing Phone (2) visits Indian BIS ahead of Launch

Nothing Phone (2)

Nothing Phone (2) (with the model number Nothing AIN065) has recently been certified by the Indian BIS certification.

Though the BIS certification listing does not tell us anything about the specifications and features of the device, it sure suggests that the launch of the device is imminent.

This is the first time that the model number has popped up on any certification website, and even though the listing does not explicitly map the model number with the Nothing Phone (2) moniker, given the brand’s past trends, we can certainly not expect it to be any other smartphone, and it will, in all likelihood, be the Nothing Phone (2).

Nothing Phone (2) Specifications (Expected)

Nothing Phone (2)

Nothing Phone (2) will have an AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is likely to support an FHD+ resolution and feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner. It will run on Nothing OS-based Android 13.

The SoC is likely to be paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage. It is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery. However, there is no information available on the fast charging capabilities of the Phone (2). Like the predecessor, the Phone (2) is expected will support wireless charging.

Also, the rumor mill is yet to leak details about the Phone (2)’s design and cameras. It is likely to come equipped with an enhanced version of the Glyph interface that was made available in the previous generation. It is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2023.

FAQ’s On Nothing Phone (2)

1) What are the Nothing Phone (2) specifications (expected)?

Ans) The Nothing Phone (2) is expected to feature a 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED display with a FHD+ resolution. Under the hood, the Nothing Phone (2) is expected to come powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, which could be coupled with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.

Coming to the battery of the device, the Nothing Phone (2) is tipped to feature a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging and wireless fast charging as well. In terms of software, the Nothing Phone (2) is more than likely to boot the latest Android 13-based Nothing OS out of the box.

Lastly, the device could feature a 50MP main camera with support for OIS.

2) What chip the Nothing Phone (2) will use?

Ans) The slip happened during MWC 2023. Qualcomm’s SVP and GM of Mobile, Compute and XR business unit, Alex Katouzian made a post congratulating Carl Pei and the Nothing team on the launch of the Nothin (2).
There are a few things interesting about the post.

Firstly, that phone is nowhere near launch.
We haven’t even gotten any officialannouncement about it.
What’s more notable, however, is the mention of the processor that this phone is set to use.

“Congratulations Cari Pei and the Nothing Team on the launch on the launch of Nothing Phone2 with #qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.”
Since this bit of information came from an executive over at Qualcomm, we can be sure that it’s correct.
You’d still want to keep an eye out in case anything changes or if Katouzian was actually mistaken.

So, if this phone uses a processor so powerful, then it will definitely be able to go toe-to-toe with the top phones of the year. Sure, it’s half of a generation behind, but the differences in day-to-day performance will be negligible.
With a higher-performing chip, we’re also expecting a higher price tag along with it.

Not only is Nothing using a more expensive SoC, but the diminishing economy means that manufacturing the phone will be even more expensive.
We’re not sure how much the phone will cost when it hits the shelves, but let’s hope that it’s close to that of the Nothing Phone (1).

Of course, for those that were hoping for and wanted the best possible internals inside the Nothing Phone 2, it looks like that probably won’t be happening this year. Again, as stated before, this isn’t a huge blow to the handset, and by using an older generation processor, there’s always the chance, or there’s a likely chance that the price of the device will debut much lower than competitors offerings.

But, it’d be interesting to hear your thoughts on this? What do you think about the Nothing Phone 2 using an older generation processor?

3) Whats new in the Nothing Phone (2) in comparison to Nothing Phone (1) ?

Ans) Now with a better build and specifications, we believe that the price of the Nothing Phone (2) may also go up quite a bit. The Phone (1) was launched in three variants in India – the base 8GB RAM plus 128GB storage model comes at a price of Rs 32,999. The other two models — 8GB RAM plus 256GB storage and 12GB RAM and 256GB storage come at a price of RS 35,999 and Rs 38999.

Although, the company has offered the phone with big discounts every other month since its launch. So, it is safe to assume that the price of the Nothing Phone (2) could be higher when compared to the Phone (1).

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE cancelled; New Tri-Fold Foldable Display Phone to Launch Instead

0
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE

HIGHLIGHTS

* The latest rumour suggests that Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is being canceled in favour of a new foldable phone.
* This new tri-fold display will be a double-hinged foldable phone expected to launch later this year.
* The upcoming tri-fold Galaxy phone has been revealed by Samsung in the past as a working prototype.

There has been much confusion regarding the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE of late.

The most recent leak confirms that Samsung has no plans of launching the Galaxy S23 FE in the pipeline. Instead, it may launch a “Tri-Fold” display device, some time this year.

Popular Tipster Yogesh Brar revealed this news on Twitter. He suggested that Samsung may launch an improved version of the Z Fold 5 and the Flip 5, alongside a Tri-Fold display this year.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE

There have been widespread rumors that Samsung is planning to release a new Fan Edition phone later this year, speculated to be called the Galaxy S23 FE. The last Fan Edition device released by Samsung was the Galaxy S21 FE 5G, but the company decided to skip the S22 FE.

However, according to the latest reports, Samsung has decided to forgo a more affordable version of its flagship phone in favour of a new type of folding smartphone.

No Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, New Trifold Smartphone Coming Soon

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE

According to a tweet from tipster Yogesh Brar, Samsung is not currently developing a Galaxy S23 FE, contrary to recent rumors that suggested the device is in active development and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

Instead, the company is reportedly working on an improved version of its Z series foldable phones.

This new line is expected to include the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which will be released later this year.

In addition, the tweet mentions that Samsung is working on a tri-fold phone that will fold like a book.

This is not the first time we’ve heard about this concept, as Samsung has been rumored to be working on a dual-hinge Galaxy Z Fold successor since 2018. Last year, the company even showcased a working prototype of a tri-fold phone.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE

The double-folding design of the tri-fold phone will likely resemble a small tablet when folded out, with a larger display than the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Other phone manufacturers have attempted to bring a similar design to market, but the challenge lies in delivering a device with both inward and outward folding mechanisms.

Samsung has made some headway in this area and showcased a prototype at CES earlier this year called a “Flex in and out” display platform.

Although foldable displays were not durable in the past, Samsung’s continued efforts to push the boundaries of foldable phones are exciting.

This suggests that the company sees the form factor as the future of smartphones and is continuously pushing the boundaries to deliver a product in the near future.

Samsung “Tri-Fold” Display Device

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE

While the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE has been speculated right from the start, Samsung’s interest into developing a “Tri-Fold” display could have arisen from the success of its foldable phones, notably the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold smartphones, and the concept phones it displayed at CES 2022.

Samsung demostrated three foldable display at CES 2022 called the Flex S, Flex G, Flex Slidable. The Flex S display comes with three panels and opens up outwards like a pamphlet. The Flex G, on the other hand, folds inwards twice like a wallet. The Flex Slidable is said to be similar to the Oppo X 2021.

During CES 2023, Samsung showcased a prototype for a “Flex In and Out” display with a 360-degree rotating screen. This means the display can rotate both inwards and outwards up to a full 360-degree.

Samsung’s foldable phones to date have a single hinge that allows the device to be “folded”, but the earlier-mentioned displays come with three foldable parts. The “Flex In and Out” display is said to use a water-drop hinge design that allows it to be able to turn a full 360-degree.

Ever since these displays have been showcased, there has been constant speculation whether Samsung would incorporate these displays into any of foldable handset, or rather introduce a third foldable handset alongside the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Flip smartphones.

An earlier report also claimed that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 would come with a 6.2-inch display like its predecessors. The report claimed that Samsung wanted to iron out the issues plaguing foldable phones such as display creases and the thickness of the device.

However, for fans of the Samsung Galaxy S23 who were hoping for the Galaxy S23 FE variant to launch could have to wait until clearer details emerge on the subject.

Apple AirPods Pro with USB Type-C Port Charging Case Tipped to Launch Later this Year: Ming-Chi Kuo

0
Apple AirPods Pro

HIGHLIGHTS

* Apple is planning to release the USB-C version of the AirPods Pro 2.
* The AirPods Pro 2 with USB Type-C port could begin mass shipment in Q2 or Q3 of 2023.
* No other AirPods are currently slated to shift to the Type C port.
* The new Apple AirPods Pro second-generation model has a lightning port for the case.
* Apple might refresh the AirPods Pro with a new charging port.
* The regular AirPods might continue to offer a lightning port for the case.

Apple might launch a new pair of AirPods later this year. The company launched the AirPods Pro last year with updated hardware that claimed to enhance the sound quality while offering premium features, such as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Transparency Mode, Spatial Audio, etc.

Despite the number of numbers, what did not change is the design of the earbuds and the charging case. Apple might soon bring one minor yet key change to the AirPods Pro later this year.

Apple AirPods Pro

The upcoming AirPods Pro might get a new charging case with the USB Type-C port. The leak comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who also revealed the production details and possible launch timeline of the new Pro Apple wireless earbuds.

Apple will soon launch the USB Type-C version of the Apple AirPods Pro 2, says seasoned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

The development stems from references present in Apple’s latest iOS release, iOS 16.4 beta, which was rolled out by developers very recently.

Analyst Kuo in his tweet, also mentions that the new AirPods Pro 2 with the Type-C charging port will start mass shipping sometime in the second or third quarter of 2023. He added that the AirPods 2 and the AirPods 3 are unlikely to get USB-C versions.

Apple AirPods Pro

Let’s take a look at the AirPods Pro launch timeline, leaked specs and other details known so far.

Apple AirPods Pro with USB Type-C Case Tipped

Apple AirPods Pro

The upcoming Apple AirPods Pro might get an iterative yet significant update later this year. The charging case could get a USB Type-C port.

Currently, Apple’s AirPods lineup comes with a Lightning port for charging the case. It is, other than the iPhone, the only major Apple product to not have launched with a Type-C port. The iPad and MacBook are all featuring a USB Type-C port.

According to Kuo (via), Apple will kick-off with the mass shipments of the USB Type-C AirPods Pro in the second or third quarter of 2023.

At the moment, it is unknown if the upcoming premium Apple TWS earbuds will get any other hardware changes other than the new charging port.

The upcoming iPhone 15 series is also said to get the new USB Type-C port finally after Apple is forced to comply to the European Union’s law if it intends to sell any iPhones there.

Apple AirPods Pro

Therefore, it makes complete sense for the AirPods Pro to also get the new USB Type-C charging port. However, only the Pro version is said to get the universal Type-C port as the second-generation and third-generation AirPods (not Pro) will continue to feature a lightning port.

There are rumours of Apple limiting the capabilities of the Type-C port on the iPhone.
However, more details about the same should surface as we inch closer to
the rumoured September launch timeline.

Meanwhile, customers in India can buy the new AirPods Pro for Rs 26,900. The new AirPods Pro second-generation features the company’s new H2 chip, which is claimed to offer exceptional acoustic experience. ANC is also said to be twice as good compared to the original model.

The second-generation AirPods Pro support Bluetooth 5.3, Spatial Audio for personalised sound and gesture controls, including touch-based controls for volume adjustments.

Apple claims that the new Pro TWS earbuds are rated to last for up to six hours on a single charge. With the charging case combined, users can expect to get up to 30 hours of battery life.

AirPods Pro 2 with USB Type-C Charging Port Coming Soon

Apple AirPods Pro

This shift from the Lightning port to USB-C is most likely a direct influence of the European Union’s ruling that requires all mobile phones, tablets, and other electronic devices to come equipped with Type-C ports.

Apple has already started shipping its Mac and iPad devices with the Type-C connector, however, the AirPods and iPhone lineup currently uses the company’s proprietary Lighting connector.

With the recent developments that have been spotted on iOS 16.4 beta rollout, it is likely that AirPods Pro 2 is ready to shift to a Type-C port for charging.

According to one person, the new AirPods carrying model number A3048 along with AirPods case with model number A2968 were found as references in the new version of iOS 16.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo later suggested that these could indicate the upcoming AirPods Pro 2 with the Type-C charging port. The new AirPods Pro 2 is likely to start mass shipping in Q2 or Q3 of 2023. It is still unclear whether the AirPods 2 and AirPods 3 will get this Type-C connecter update.

Apple AirPods Pro

The iPhone is also likely to shift to a Type-C charging port with the iPhone 15 series. The EU’s ruling technically allows the upcoming iPhone 15 to continue having the Lightning port. Some models are expected to shift to the Type-C port.

Previously, Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, had said at The Wall Street Journal’s Tech Live conference in October that Apple will “obviously” have to comply” with the rule.

“We have no choice,” Joswiak said when asked about whether Apple will switch to USB Type C port as per the EU directive. â€*

FAQ’s on Apple AirPods Pro

1) Should You Buy AirPods Pro?

Ans) The second-generation AirPods Pro are Apple’s premium in-ear wireless earbuds, offering a range of features including precision finding, touch volume controls, and more. Released in September 2022, the second-generation AirPods Pro are still new in Apple’s product lineup and the company does not release new AirPods models often.

Apple has now debuted six different versions of the AirPods, giving a sign of how often it updates the device. Apple released new AirPods Pro in October 2019 and September 2022, indicating that the company updates the product around every three years – a time frame that aligns with the other AirPods models. This means that it is unlikely that there will be new AirPods Pro soon.

With this in mind, and given that there have not yet been any concrete signs of new AirPods or notable rumors around what an upgraded model could feature, now is still a good time to buy AirPods Pro.

With a $249 price tag, AirPods can be more expensive than some of its direct competitors, but it’s important to note that the H2 chips inside the AirPods offer a seamless and fully integrated pairing and device-switching experience for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV users, which competitors are unable to match. The H2 chips also enable features like Adaptive EQ and spatial audio with dynamic head tracking.

This means that when used with Apple devices, AirPods seem to be the best option for earbuds when it comes to features.

If you are looking for AirPods without an in-ear design, there are the third-generation AirPods, which start from $179. For an even higher fidelity AirPods experience and an over-ear design, there are the AirPods Max which start at $549.

On the other hand, if you feel that the AirPods Pro are too expensive, but you would still like Apple’s seamless pairing and device-switching experience, the second-generation AirPods or Beats headphones are also viable options, with prices starting from as little as $69 for Beats Flex.

2) What is AirPods Pro Design?

Ans) The second-generation AirPods Pro feature the same design as the original AirPods Pro, despite rumors that we could see some major changes. There were rumors of a stemless design, but that did not pan out, and Apple is continuing to use the same rounded in-ear bud with flexible silicone tips and a short stem.

Apple designed the silicone tips to confirm to the contours of each individual ear, ensuring a comfortable fit and a good seal, an important factor for noise cancellation. The AirPods Pro 2 tips come in extra small, small, medium, and large, and the tips click into place on the AirPods Pro for easy swapping.

The AirPods Pro measure in at 30.9mm tall and 21.8mm wide, identical to the original AirPods Pro. They weigh 5.3 grams.

There is a new skin-detect sensor in the AirPods that is designed to better detect when the AirPods are removed from the ears in order to preserve battery life.

The new AirPods continue to feature a vent system for pressure equalization when using Active Noise Cancellation. It is designed to minimize the discomfort that can happen with other earbud designs.

3) How is the Water Resistance feature in apple AirPods Pro?

Ans) Apple says that the AirPods Pro and the MagSafe Charging Case are “sweat and water resistant,” offering IPX4 water resistance. IPX4 water resistance was also a feature of the original AirPods Pro, but the case is more water resistant now.

IPX4 water resistance means the AirPods Pro and the case can hold up to sweat and light rain, but they should not be submerged and liquid exposure should be avoided when possible. Apple’s warranty does not cover water or sweat damage.

4) How is Sound Quality of Apple AirPods Pro ?

Ans) Apple’s second-generation AirPods Pro are outfitted with an updated custom high-excursion low-distortion Apple driver and a custom high dynamic range amplifier, which Apple says brings richer, deeper bass and crystal-clear sound at all volume levels.

Microphones

There are two dual beamforming microphones and an inward-facing microphone for Active Noise Cancellation purposes.

Adaptive EQ

Adaptive EQ is designed to improve sound quality by taking into account the shape of the ear. The feature uses computational audio and an updated internal microphone pointed toward the ear to optimize sound for each person.

Sound is tuned in real time based on the fit of the AirPod in the user’s ear, with the AirPods Pro adjusting and tuning the low and mid frequencies for consistent playback every time.

Apple says the new H2 chip uses new adaptation algorithms to process sound more quickly, tuning audio at the precise second that it is heard, for higher-fidelity sound. Phone calls also sound more natural thanks to voice enhancement algorithms.

Spatial Audio

Apple introduced Spatial Audio in 2021, bringing a surround sound like experience to Apple Music, the Apple TV app, and more. With Dolby Atmos tracks in Apple Music, the AirPods Pro can provide a multi-dimensional audio experience that makes it so the sound comes from all around you.

Spatial audio applies directional audio filters and subtly adjusts the frequencies that each ear receives to place sounds virtually anywhere in space for an immersive listening experience. The feature uses sensors in the AirPods Pro along with sensors in the iPhone or iPad to track the motion of a person’s head as well as the position of their device, comparing the motion data and remapping the sound field so that it stays anchored to the device even as the head moves.

Dynamic head tracking works with spatial audio and on Group FaceTime calls so it sounds like the FaceTime participants are right in the room with you.

The AirPods Pro also support Personalized Spatial Audio, which is an iOS 16 feature. With Personalized Spatial Audio, you can use your TrueDepth camera to scan the area around you to create a custom sound experience.

5) How is Battery Life of Apple AirPods Pro 2?

Ans) On their own, the AirPods Pro 2 offer up to six hours of listening time, or 5.5 hours with Spatial Audio and Head Tracking enabled. When used for talking, the battery lasts for a total of 4.5 hours. The AirPods Pro 2 earbuds feature a battery capacity of 49.7 mAh, up 15 percent from 43.2 mAh capacity of the prior-generation AirPods Pro earbuds, which accounts for some of the difference in battery life.

The MagSafe Charging Case has a battery capacity of 523 mAh, up just 4 mAh over the prior-generation case. With the MagSafe Charging Case, the AirPods Pro 2 offer up to 30 hours of listening time and 24 hours of talk time before needing to be recharged. Charging can be done using a MagSafe charger, a Lightning cable, a Qi-based charger, or, new this year, the Apple Watch charger.

Apple says that five minutes in the charging case provides the AirPods Pro with one hour of listening time or one hour of talk time.

FAQ’s on Samsung Galaxy A34 5G

1) How is the design of Samsung galaxy A34 5G?

Ans) Samsung’s new Galaxy A34 5G has a flat back panel and display, a slightly curved frame, and three rear-facing cameras, each with its own cutout rather than residing atop a prominent camera hump.

In these regards, the Galaxy A34 5G resembles not only the Galaxy A54 but also higher-end models like the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+.

However, unlike the Galaxy A54 and higher-end Samsung phones, the Galaxy A34 has a plastic back rather than Gorilla Glass protection.

Regardless, it weighs 199 grams and measures 161.3 x 78.1 x 8.2mm. The flat back panel and frame come in one of four colors: Awesome Graphite, Awesome Lime, Awesome Silver, and Awesome Violet. The display bezel seems thinner than they were on the previous model — or at least the lower “chin” does.

But the display retains the Infinity-U notch design where the selfie camera is embedded.

2) How is the Display of Galaxy A34 5G?

Ans) The Galaxy A34 5G carries a Super AMOLED 6.6-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 and a refresh rate of 120Hz.

Not only was the refresh rate improved from 90Hz to 120Hz, but brightness levels can now go as high as 1,000nits thanks to Samsung’s Vision Booster technology, which also maintains a higher level of color accuracy across the brightness curve.

Underneath the 6.6-inch display, which is now SGS-certified for eyecare thanks to a reduction of blue light emissions from 12.5% to 6.5%, the Galaxy A34 5G sports an optical fingerprint reader for biometric authentication. The panel is protected by a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

3) How is the camera of Galaxy A34 5G?

Ans) Samsung has removed the depth camera for the 2023 Galaxy A34 model.
The phone now has three rear-facing cameras.

They consist of a wide 48MP shooter with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor (f.2/2), and a 5MP macro camera (f/2.4). The phone can record videos at 4K resolutions and 30 frames per second, up to 60fps in 1080p resolution, and up to 480fps at 720p.

The selfie camera has a resolution of 13MP and an f/2.2 aperture. And it, too, can record 4K@30fps videos.

More importantly, the Galaxy A34 5G gained new camera and photo editing tricks. It has Auto Night mode and No Shake Night Mode thanks to improved OIS (1.5 degrees) and VDIS (500Hz) and even boasts Auto Framing capabilities for up to 5 people during video recordings.

The device also benefits from new photo-editing tricks, like better remastering and auto removal of unwanted shadows and reflections.
