When it comes to the best smartphones, there are many brands that take the cake but the one that is going strong as far as global dominion goes, Samsung has few peers to match in terms of popularity.
Despite receiving cut throat competition from Apple and Xiaomi, it has emerged the winner in the first quarter of the year according to the official report from the International Data Corporation (IDC).
There have been nearly 73.6 million unit shipments with a market share of 23.4% in the first quarter of 2022, which is a decrease in company’s shipments by 1.2% when compared to the first quarter of 2021.
Apple has come second this year with 18% market share from January to March 2022 with company’s shipments of around 56.6 million units, which is an increase in shipments by 2.2% compared to Samsung’s decline.
The 3rd, 4th and 5th place is occupied by Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo with 12.7%, 8.7% and 8.1% market share, respectively. This steady decline in Chinese companies as far as shipments go has become a matter of serious concern for the tech giants because it has been steady in the past few years with OPPO and Vivo being the worst hit with 26.8% and 27.7%, respectively.
This decline is attributed to the rapid plunge of consumer demand that has hit the supply chain badly due to which companies are floundering to stay afloat in the market although Samsung is far ahead in terms of global domination.
Nabila Pople, an IDC employee, has blamed global inflation and the decline in economy of many countries due to Covid-19 that has decreased consumer demand in the past two years although she is hopeful that things will turn back to normal once the situation comes into control.
The rapid digitalization has changed our everyday life. It is hard to imagine a life without technology. With digitalization everywhere investments are also not immune to this. The evolving technology has led to the development of digital investments and Non-fungible tokens (NFT) is one of them.
Created using Blockchain technology, NFT is the digital representations of real-world things such as art, music, videos, and in-game purchases. They are unique which makes it non-fungible.
They have become quite popular with collectors of all types including sports trading card collectors. Blockchain technology is used to handle the transaction and encode the identity of the owner of the NFT.
The first NFT
Minted in 2014, Quantum, an octagon-shaped animation by New York artist Kevin McCoy, is regarded as the first NFT. Quantum was sold in November 2021 for $1.4 million.
Digital objects such as Art, GIFs, Videos and sports highlights, Collectibles, Virtual avatars and video game skins, Designer sneakers and Music can be created as NFT.
NFT-
What is NFT and how does it work
Explaining the new digital asset, Priya Ranjan, professor, Bhuvaneshvar Institute of Technology, says that a non-fungible token (NFT) is a financial security consisting of digital data stored in a blockchain, a form of distributed ledger.
Talking further, professor Ranjan says that the ownership of an NFT is recorded in the blockchain, and can be transferred by the owner, allowing NFTs to be sold and traded. “NFTs can be created by anybody, and require few or no coding skills to create. NFTs typically contain references to digital files such as photos, videos, and audio. (From Wiki) It is a simple idea of creating an asset from a file which is secured using blockchain and then it is being shared/traded,” adds Ranjan.
NFT–
Is NFT a Cryptocurrency?
Eradicating confusion between NFT and cryptocurrency, Ranjan says that one should not get confused between NFT and cryptocurrency. “All crypto currencies are equal but NFTs are different from each other. NFTs can be different file with different data, graphics, music and art form,” he adds.
Physical money and cryptocurrencies can be traded or exchanged for one another while NFTs are different. Each NFT has a digital signature so it cannot be exchanged for or equal to one another.
Are NFTs a Good Investment?
According to him, one should not consider NFT for future investment. On why NFTs are not a good idea for investment, Ranjan adds that it has been collapsing.
Where to sell NFT
Those willing to get into NFT trade must have access to digital wallet and use cryptocurrencies to pay for their purchases. OpenSea, Rarible, SuperRare, Foundation, AtomicMarket, Myth Market, BakerySwap, KnownOrigin, Enjin Marketplace, Portion, Async Art, Nifty Gateway, and Decentraland are some of the prominent places to buy-sell NFT.
Global brands with their own NFT
Recently, MG Motor India forayed into the non-fungible token (NFT). With the launch of NFT, the British brand became the first carmaker in India to launch a collection of NFTs. The MG NFT collection went on sale on December 28, 2021. With 1111 units of digital creatives as part of the launch collection. The automaker will introduce its maiden NFT on KoineArth’s NgageN platform that has been especially customised for MG’ transactions.
According to MG Motor, NFT is aimed to take their innovation pillar a step ahead by offering digital assets representing their legacy, diversity and strong bond with AI and technology.
In addition to MG Motor India, Carl Pei’s Nothing introduced its own set of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) ), starting with the Black Dots. The brand will introduce its first smartphone on July 12. To provide a different experience to their loyalists, other brands such as Louis Vuitton, Adidas, Coca Cola, McDonald’s major brands have introduced their own NFT collections.

We all know the importance of education for every human being where there are many other benefits that can be reaped apart from getting a well-paid job. Students are fed up with sitting in a classroom of forty people where one teacher cannot focus on any particular weak student.
Today people want to move on with times because Artificial Intelligence is the call for the 21st century. The idea that a human brain can gain knowledge through Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) would have been laughed off a couple of decades back but today it has become a topic of interesting discussion.
In this article, we are going to know about the most important benefits of AR and VR and how they play a major role on young minds so that they get to learn things the smart way instead of the hard way.
Advantages of Augmented Reality
The importance/necessity of computer generated imagery (CGI) is a paramount thing in superhero movies and it is interesting to note that it is slowly rubbing off on the education sector as well.
Augmented Reality is defined as the one where CGI images are superimposed in front of the user’s eyes and influences his view of the physical world, which is real and it gives out a feeling that what is happening in it are happening in the real world.
AR will allow students to study 3D models of different objects and they can use internet through their smartphones where they can also scan images by linking it to the AR model and gain more info regarding the topic.
AR is easy to use and requires no rocket science on behalf of the user because the technology used is highly interactive in nature and all the students need is to gain access on the education models, which is available on their devices that enables them to grasp the concept better.
They can learn the art of recreating images and locations that they did not have access for earlier. While attending a lecture, teachers can provide the necessary resources and materials regarding education.
These are the present era tools that’ll help students in understanding all concepts easily rather than mindlessly cramming stuff into their minds from a 500 page book, which will only add to mental exertion.
A big problem of the Indian education system, among many others, is that it mainly focuses on theoretical learning with very little practical analysis because learning about subjects like science and math with complicated terminology is impossible for many students.
Advantages of Virtual Reality
Virtual Reality is defined as the simulated experience that can be both similar and different from the real physical world and is used in different fields like business, management, healthcare, education, entertainment and many others.
However, it is a vital asset in the field of education especially in classrooms because one of the toughest jobs for a teacher is to keep the students focused in class amidst countless distractions that they easily fall prey to.
The irony is that while technological breakthroughs like smartphones, tablets, social media platforms, etc. have made studying a lot easier, they have simultaneously made it difficult for students to concentrate on their studies.
It is here when VR comes into the picture because if done in a planned and orchestrated way, it will keep the students’ mind off distractive elements and allow him/her to focus more on the topic.
Learning Made Easy
The best way for the mind to learn about something new is to understand it, which is the first step to acceptance and which in turn leads to recovery.
It is no secret that students are fed up with the traditional methods of teaching that is confined to a huge classroom with a blackboard, box of chalks and rows of seats.
VR and AR will help them to virtually travel to far off places while being physically present in the same place. The corona virus has worked as a blessing in disguise in this matter as it has opened up many opportunities for students through online learning and mobile apps.
The most difficult of topics that require a great deal of mental concentration to grasp has been made easy through AR and VR through which students can now develop their own individual identity by exploring new areas of interest in the different subjects.
The students represent the five fingers of the hand and each has his own learning style through which he/she grasps concepts in their own speed, pace and time. With the help of AR/VR, they can create their own profiles and craft a way of learning that matches their style.
It is impossible for teachers to teach unless the students cooperate and actively participate in the daily activities without being forced to do so. AR/VR will pique students’ interest so that they willingly participate in class through which they can learn easily and quickly.
Last but not the least, the traditional way of learning was limited to reading and listening but now they can touch, hear and envision through all body senses thereby creating a sensory synchronization and not just limit itself to one sense.
