Realme launched a new C series smartphone in Indonesia recently. The Realme C55 is the successor to the existing Realme C35 smartphone.

The smartphone was the first Android device to come with a display notch like setup inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island design seen on iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

Realme calls the design as Mini capsule, which is essentially an expandable punch- hole.

When expanded, it can display notifications like charging, full battery prompt, low battery warning, data consumption, steps walked, and walking distance.

Realme India has teased the launch of an upcoming smartphone in a tweet. The company will likely launch the newly launched Realme C55 soon in India.

Realme is gearing up to launch a new C-series smartphone in India, dubbed the Realme C55.

The brand has been teasing the arrival of the device in the country for a while now and now, a new event page for the upcoming smartphone has been made live on the company’s official website.

The Realme C55 is going to offer an iPhone 14 Pro series-like Dynamic Island, called the Mini Capsule.

It expands to display notifications like charging, full battery and low battery prompts, data consumptions, music playback notifications, and more.

The Realme C55 has already launched in Indonesia, so its specifications and features are more or less known.

Realme C55 India Launch Imminent

As seen in the event page screenshot above, the Realme C55 is likely to launch soon in India. We can expect the device to arrive in the country later this month.

The event has the caption “Entertainment Ka Champion” and suggests that the device is coming soon.

The Realme C-series of smartphones are usually marketed with such tag lines, leading us to believe that the event page is made for the Realme C55 device.

Realme C55 Soon Launching in India: Specifications

Realme India has created a new event page for an upcoming C series smartphone. The event page has the caption “Entertainment Ka Champion” with a coming soon notification.

The brand claims that the Realme C series has always been entertaining, and it listed the existing Realme C35, C30, and C25 smartphones.

Realme will launch the Realme C55 smartphone in India by the end of March 2023. Since the smartphone is already launched in Indonesia, we know the device’s specifications.

Realme equips the smartphone with a 6.52-inch LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution.

The display has a peak brightness of 680 nits, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz touch sampling rate. Underneath, the smartphone is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset built on a 12nm process.

The chipset is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Realme also equips the smartphone with a virtual RAM feature. The brand also adds a micro-SD card slot for increasing storage.

It runs on RealmeUI 4.0 based on Android 13 out of the box.

In the optics department, the Realme C55 sports a dual-rear camera setup. The setup comprises a primary 64MP sensor with PDAF.

A 2MP depth sensor and an LED flash accompany the primary sensor. The display houses the 8MP selfie camera inside the punch-hole.

A large 5000 mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOV fast charging tech backs the smartphone.

Realme has equipped the smartphone with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

On the connectivity front, it features a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB type C port, NFC, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou.

Realme has launched the smartphone in two colour options: Sunshower and Rainy Night.

The device has a dimension of 165.6 × 75.9 × 7.89mm and weighs 189.5 grams.

Realme has priced the smartphone at Rp 2,499,000 (approx. Rs 13,300) for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The higher variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at Rp 2,999,000 (approx. Rs 16,000).

Ans) Tipster Paras Guglani (@passionategeekz) suggested in a tweet that the Realme C55 expected to launch globally on March 7 and go on sale starting March 8. He added that the model is likely to launch in India later this year.

He also hinted at a few key specifications that the purported Realme device may arrive with.

As per the tipster, the Realme C55 could feature a 64-megapixel AI Camera as its primary sensor among the likely dual rear camera setup of the device. The model is expected to launch in a single configuration of 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, according to the leak, which added that the upcoming Realme C55 may also feature 16GB Dynamic RAM.

Tipped to be powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, the rumoured Realme C55 is also expected to support 33W SUPERVOOC charging and come equipped with a 5,000mAh battery.

Attached to the tweet, is a leaked promotional image of the Realme C55 handset, which suggests that the device will be available in a Sunshower colour.

Another leak by Price Baba suggests that the Realme C55 smartphone will also be available in a Black colour variant.

The second leak also offered design renders of the upcoming smartphone, and suggests that the Realme C55 may be the company’s first C-series phone with a punch-hole display.

As seen in the leaked images cited in the report, the back of the model mostly has a matte finish with only a glossy bit around the dual-camera unit. The handset is also seen sporting a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

A promotional video, recently leaked by the same tipster, also showed the two separate rear camera modules of the purported Realme C55. The short 10-second clip also showed the power button on the left edge of the device as having a fingerprint scanner.

Overall, the design appears similar to that of the Redmi 10 4G that launched in February 2022.

Another earlier leak from YouTuber Official Complete Selular, cited in a report by Gizmochina suggests a lot of important specifications of the Realme C55, which is said to have a thick top and bottom bezel, with a USB Type-C port at the bottom with a 3.5mm audio jack and speaker grille.

This report suggested that the Realme C55 will feature a 6.52-inch LCD display with Full-HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. It was also the first to hint that the device will likely be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 processor and could come with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage.

The smartphone was also expected to feature a dual-rear camera system in this report led by a 64-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel auxiliary sensor, paired with an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The report added that the phone is expected to run Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13.

Jabra Elite 5 Unboxing

Jabra Elite 5 is the latest addition to the wide range of TWS earbuds offered by the brand. The earbuds come in a solid white packaging box with branding and product information neatly printed all around.

The box mentioned every significant product feature and manufacturing detail.

The top of the white packaging box slides open to reveal a nicely designed cabin box that houses the product and other accessories. The box has a slider cabin with two folding flap covers that have important product information printed on each.

On one side you get the information about the earbuds and on the other fold details out the Jabra Sound+ App details.

Inside the box, we get 3 sets of EarGels of different ear panel sizes so that the users can choose the tips that suit their ear panel the most. Along with that, we get the USB-C to USB-A cable smartly packed together with the 3 sets of EarGels.

The next thing we notice inside the box is the stylish charging case itself. In hands, the charging case’s attractive matt finish is the first thing to admire about the earbuds.

At the bottom of the box, we get the warranty card along with some warning leaflets.

Jabra Elite 5 Design

The charging case itself is simplistic and compact. We get the Jabra logo on the front along with an LED indicator for charging and battery status. It also has a USB-C charging port on the rear.

And with this model, Jabra got the charging part back on the rear, which is something that many users complained about in the Elite 7 Pro.

At the bottom of the charging case, we get the QI logo which indicates the availability of Qi wireless charging.

Inside we get the earbud neatly tucked. Right off the block, we noticed that the earbuds have a more angular faceplate design compared to the Elite 7 Pro.

The earbuds themselves, design-wise, don’t really look very different in terms of how Jabra has always designed their earbuds. It appears the brand has stayed true to its design convictions.

The magnets in the case are really strong so there’s no need to worry about the earbuds accidentally coming loose. The face plate itself is a large physical button which is nice for people who prefer not to deal with finicky touch controls.

Jabra Elite 5 Sound Quality

The sound quality is relatively flat compared to the more base-heavy Elite for active. Elite 5, as for the quality of sound, is actually quite aligned with how the Elite 7 Pro sounded. The balanced sound, however, makes it easy to tweak the EQ to personal liking, which could be a plus point from a certain user perspective.

While we extensively used the Jabra Elite 5, we found ourselves boosting the bass and the mids from time to time. The smooth EQ preset was definitely one of our favourites out of all the options available, so we recommend that as the perfect starting point for anyone planning on picking these earbuds.

The Sound Stage is a bit narrower and not as wide and spacious as a lot of other earbuds available in the market offer. Instrument Imaging, however, is pretty accurate.

Jabra Elite 5 Connectivity and Control

Jabra Elite 5 is equipped with Bluetooth v5.2 and support the SBC AAC and aptx codex.

It 5 has six-millimetre drivers similar to the Elite 7 Pro. This also finally has a Qualcomm processor that Jabra is advertising. There’s also a multi-point and these earbuds remember up to six devices. So, that’s more than enough for people who are using a smartphone, a desktop, a laptop and a tablet.

By default on the right side, a single press controls play pause, a double press skip tracks forward, three presses skip tracks backwards and a long press & hold raises the volume.

On the left side, a single press toggles between A and C and transparency, a double press pulls up the voice assistant and a long press & hold lower the volume.

These are default control we get preset out of the box. These controls are somewhat customisable in the Jabra Sound Plus App.

Jabra Elite 5 features quality integrated microphones that promise an uninterrupted, noise-free call experience. In our attempt to use earbuds for official calls and meetings, the voice quality on the other side was quite clear.

Moreover, the earbuds do a fine job of keeping unwanted noise at bay during calls.

Jabra Elite 5 App and Features

The Jabra Sound+ Companion app is a must-download in our opinion. First off, we get our firmware updates via the app. But there are also a bunch of other features that we can access including EQ control customization, ear detection, Spotify tap, and My sound which is personalized EQ essentially and personalized ANC among others.

Jabra Elite 5 gets the Google Fast Pair technology, although for Android only with all major Voice assistant support including Amazon Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant™ (Android only).

ANC

These Elite 5 earbuds are using hybrid ANC technology which is basically using feedback and feed-forward microphones to help cancel out outside noise. As we used these, we were quickly reminded of the ANC on the Jabra Elite 7 Pro, which was just mediocre in performance.

Upon aggressively using the Elite 5, it turns out the ANC on these is also just mediocre in cancelling outside noise.

With music playing, we did notice that environmental noise was less intruding with the ANC on. But in crowded areas, there’s still a touch of noise that’s not able to be completely removed even with the ANC On.

However, we noticed train rumble or engine noise sounds are still quite decently removed. So, if you’re planning on using these mostly for your daily commute, it should be fine.

IP Ratings

Jabra Elite 5 comes with an IP P55 rating that ensures dust and water resistance. Now a lot of people really enjoy using Jabra earbuds when they are outside running or inside the gym exercising, so the IP ratings indicate an assurance that users will face no problem there at all.

Jabra Elite 5 Battery Performance

The battery life is pretty good in Jabra Elite 5. The brand claims 9 hours in the earbuds with ANC Off and 7 hours with ANC On. While with the charging case, the battery backup comes up to a total of 36 hours with ANC Off and 28 hours with ANC On. Overall, we get an additional three charges in the case.

The battery life on paper claimed by the brand is relatively accurate. We did get slightly over 6 hours of playtime with ANC On.

Also, the case supports wireless charging, which is something that makes the new Jabra Elite 5 stand out from its competitors.

Verdict

Overall, the Jabra Elite 5 are a decent pair of earbuds at the given price point. There’s decent balance sound, good battery life, APTX support and above all they’re comfortable to use for long hours.

These earbuds actually feature every required wireless sound technology to make them a favourable TWS market, especially at the given price range.

Users get decent call quality, somewhat usable ANC, ease of use, and decent battery life, all of which make Jabra Elite 5 challenge some of the top competitors in the mid-range wireless earbuds market segment in India.

The Ultra version of the lineup is usually expected to pack in better hardware than the Redmi K60 Pro or the predecessor that came with Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC and 120W charging.

Either the leaked details are not accurate or the moniker of the phone could be different.

Redmi launched the K60 Pro in December 2022 in China. The smartphone is expected to launch in global markets as the POCO F5 Pro. It looks like Xiaomi might launch another premium smartphone in the Redmi K-series flagship lineup.

According to a new leak, the Redmi K60 Ultra is in the works. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any details but a new leak has now revealed some key details about the upcoming K60 Ultra.

In a Weibo post, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station suggested that Redmi will launch the K60 Ultra device in the third quarter of the year, that is within July, August or September.
The leak added that the smartphone is expected to be powered by a MediaTe Dimensity 9200 chipset and could support 100W fast charging.

Both these purported features, if true, will be markedly improved than the high-end Redmi K60 Pro.

The Redmi K60 Ultra device is expected to succeed the K50 Ultra handset that launched in August 2022.

Offered in four storage configurations, the model is priced starting from CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 35,400).

It is available in Black, Blue, and Silver colour variants.

The upcoming top-of-the-line Redmi K60 series flagship is said to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC.

The flagship SoC is found in many premium smartphones in China and some other markets.

The Redmi K60 Ultra is expected to launch soon in China as a flagship offering. It could debut as a successor to last year’s K50 Ultra.

The K60 Ultra is said to feature the latest Dimensity 9200 SoC.

The chipset has a peak clock speed of 3.05GHz and comes with a 1 + 3 + 4 cluster setup.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), the K60 Ultra is also said to feature support for 100W fast charging. While 100W fast charging is quite fast, it falls short of the K60 Pro’s 120W fast charging by a few minutes.

The device is also expected to feature a 1.5K resolution AMOLED display with support for up to a 144Hz refresh rate.

Based on the leaked specs, the phone does not sound like an Ultra model as the K60 Pro itself has a 2K AMOLED display, a faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and 120W fast charging support.

Even if the device does exist, we suspect that the phone could be launched with a different name and not necessarily the K60 Ultra.

DCS claims that the said device will debut in the third quarter of 2023. We are many months away from the rumoured launch timeline.

Therefore, we suggest taking the leak with a pinch of salt. There are no other leaks around the K60 Ultra’s specifications.

We can expect it to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, a beefy battery and a triple-camera setup on the back.

The phone might sport a flat display on the front as well. We will have to wait for some more details before the phone launches around the rumoured timeline.

It now seems that the company is planning to launch its first foldable phones later this year.

It’s faster than the 210W-capable Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition and the 150W charging found in OnePlus devices like the 10T.

But it might not be on top for long. Xiaomi’s Redmi subbrand is working hard to beat
Realme’s 240W fast-charging speeds, if a new 300W fast-charging proof of concept it just announced is anything to go by.

But although 240W is a very big number, the phone’s charging speeds aren’t an order of magnitude faster than what we’ve seen with previous fast-charging phones.

Realme says the GT3 can charge to 100 percent in nine and a half minutes, but bear in mind that the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition could already charge its (admittedly smaller) 4,300mAh battery to 100 percent in around nine minutes with 210W fast charging.
And even the OnePlus 10T’s 150W fast charging could get its 4,800mAh battery to 100 percent in under 20 minutes.

But more compelling is what a quick burst of charging can achieve.
Realme advertises that a 30-second charge of the GT3, for example, is enough for a two-hour call, three hours of music listening, or 40 minutes of video streaming.

The promotional poster also showcases a circular ring, which might be a hint at the camera module design for the devices.

The OPPO Find X6 series is likely to initially include the standard OPPO Find X6 and the OPPO Find X6 Pro, while the OPPO Find X6 Lite might either launch alongside or might launch at a later stage.

Meta Platform’s (META.O) was back up for most users after a global outage, the photo-sharing platform said on Thursday, adding that an hours-long technical issue has been resolved.

“Earlier tonight, a technical issue caused people to have trouble accessing Instagram. We resolved this issue for everyone as quickly as possible,” Instagram said in a tweet.

Downdetector, which tracks outages, reported more than 53,000 incidents of users unable to access Instagram at the peak of the outage. The website collates status reports from a number of sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform.

As Instagram was coming back online, Downdetector said reports of outages had fallen below 1,000 in the United States.

Reports of issues came down to less than 100 reports in the UK, India, Japan and Australia, the outage-tracking website showed.

With features such as e-commerce, reels, personal blogging, news sharing and more, Instagram today is a one-stop destination for all kinds of information, entertainment and data.

Any glitch or even a moment’s disturbance can have huge effects on an unfathomably large audience.

On 31 October, the app faced a major global outage as users shared screenshots of the app crashing.

Soon Twitter was flooded with screenshots of people being locked out and their accounts suspended for violating certain community rules.

The notification comes with the warning that the user has 30 days time to disagree with the decision and if Instagram is unable to confirm their identity, the account will get permanently disabled.

Out of those affected, many reportedly have private accounts and did not post anything derogatory that would violate any rules. Media reports also suggest that this issue is mainly concentrated among iPhone users who were unable to use the app after installing an update in the morning.

Instagram has acknowledged this issue and has responded to it with a tweet which reads, “We’re aware that some of you are having issues accessing your Instagram account. We’re looking into it and apologize for the inconvenience.” Following this #instagramdown started trending as well.

Following this outage, several noted instagram followers have seen a major fall in followers count.

One of the highest-followed accounts belonging to ace footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly lost 3 million followers while Instagram’s own primary account has lost over a million followers.

Instagram Down for Thousands of Users, but there’s a way to access it

As seen in the Downdetector chart above, the app has witnessed a massive outage in the last 24 hours, and the issue seems to have not been fixed yet.

We tried to access the app via our metered connection, home Wi-Fi connection, and via a VPN (SurfShark).

While the first two methods did not help us a single bit, trying to access Instagram with a VPN connection on did work for us, thereby meaning that the issue might be specific to some locations and servers.

The outage has been causing Instagram to not load content, such as posts from the feed and even the Stories won’t load. Users have been seeing messages like “Couldn’t refresh feed” and “Couldn’t load posts”.

There have also been reports by users, claiming that Instagram gives out a notification suggesting that the devices are not connected to the internet, while they actually are.

Surprisingly, in our test, one of our devices even logged us out of the app, and we have to log in again (which, thankfully, worked).
