Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of a new Redmi smartphone. The company might soon launch the Redmi 12 as its new affordable smartphone for the masses in various markets.

The device is likely to launch as a successor to the Redmi 10, which was launched last year in global markets, including India. Xiaomi is yet to confirm the launch date of the phone.

Meanwhile, a new leak has revealed the launch date key specifications of the Redmi 12.
The Dealabs report also revealed the RAM, storage and pricing details of the upcoming Redmi smartphone.

Let’s take a look at the Redmi 12 price, specifications and features leaked ahead of its launch.

Redmi 12 Expected Launch Date

As per the report by Dealabs, the Redmi 12 will launch in Europe on June 2nd. However, the company has not yet shared any official note regarding the launch of the Redmi 12. Meanwhile, the smartphone’s India launch timeline hasn’t been revealed yet.

Redmi 12 European Price Tipped

The upcoming Redmi 12 is said to be an affordable smartphone, and it will most likely be launched in Europe for EUR 199 (around Rs 17,672) for the 4GB+128GB variant, the report said. There is no information about the smartphone’s expected price in India.

Redmi 12: What We Know So Far

The Redmi 12 will be an upcoming budget smartphone launching globally very soon. The phone is tipped to launch with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Xiaomi is said to launch the phone in Europe on June 2. The report claimed that the device will have a launch price of EUR 199 (roughly Rs 17,700). The device will debut in three colours — Blue, Silver and Black.

In terms of hardware, the phone will sport a plastic body and frame. It is said to measure 168.60mm × 76.28mm × 8.17mm and weigh about 199 grams. The Redmi 12 will pack a beefy 5000mAh battery and offer support for 18W fast charging out of the box. There will be a USB Type-C port and a dual-SIM card slot.

On the front, the phone is said to sport a tall 6.79-inch IPS TFT screen with a Full HD+ resolution of 2460×1080 pixels. The screen will offer a pixel density of 396 PPI and have a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for additional protection against accidental drops and scratches.

There will be support for up to 90Hz refresh rate. The screen is said to feature Xiaomi’s AdaptiveSync refresh rate tech and support switching between 30, 48, 60 or 90Hz depending on the content displayed on the screen.

Under the hood, there will be a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. It is said to offer a single 4GB RAM option with 128GB of storage. There will be an option to expand storage up to 1TB via a microSD card slot.

The device is said to feature a triple-camera setup on the back. The Redmi 12 might feature a 50MP primary camera sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It will also feature an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor.
If the leaked camera specs are true, the Redmi 12 will certainly offer a fairly versatile camera setup for the price. We say so as many smartphones priced under Rs 20,000 in India are ditching the ultra-wide lens in favour of a 2MP depth sensor.
For selfies, the phone will offer an 8MP front camera with an f/2.5 aperture, according to the report.

The phone will feature dual speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a fingerprint scanner and support for AI face recognition. It is said to boot Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box, which would be a bummer as Android 13 has been around for a year, while Android 14 has already been announced by Google.

It should be noted that these details are based on a report, and the company is yet to reveal the launch date, price, and other information in the coming days.

Now, it is preparing to add one more device to the series, namely the Redmi 12. It has already made appearances on IMEI, FCC & TKDN databases. Now, a new report has leaked its specifications along with its pricing in Europe. Let’s take a look at the details.

Redmi 12 pricing & specs in Europe

According to a leak by the French publication Dealabs, the Redmi 12 will sport a plastic body and frame, measuring approximately 168.60mm × 76.28mm × 8.17mm and weighing around 199 grams. Realme Narzo N53 – Unboxing

Let’s get to the unboxing of the Realme Narzo 53 and explore the features of this budget-friendly smartphone.

As you open the sleek sea blue colour packaging, you are greeted by the Realme Narzo 53 itself, elegantly nestled within. The device showcases a modern and stylish design, featuring a large 6.72-inch display that immediately catches your eye.

Beneath the smartphone, you’ll find a collection of accessories carefully placed to enhance your user experience. Unveil the charger, which comes equipped with Realme’s fast charging technology, ensuring you can power up your device quickly and efficiently.

Apart from this, other in-the-box accessories inside the Realme Narzo 53 retail box include USB Type-C Cable, 11V/3A Power Adapter, a Brown transparent Protect Case, SIM Card Needle, a Quick Guide and some Important Info Booklet (including the Warranty Card).

Now, let’s get to the actual product and its overall experience.

Realme Narzo N53 Design

The first thing we noticed about Realme Narzo N53 is its slim, sleek design. If we are not mistaken, it’s the slimmest Realme smartphone at 7.49 mm thickness. We had the Feather Gold variant for this review.

The variant has a line-like texture on the back but it comes with a shiny and very glossy finish. The back of the phone gives off beautiful vibes as it reacts to the light of its surroundings.

The good thing is even though it comes with a glossy back it doesn’t attract any fingerprints or smudges.

The dual cameras on the back have an interesting design. Even though it looks like a triple camera setup but the right module in the camera setup is basically the flash.

You get the side capacitor fingerprint scanner, which is very responsive and quick to unlock. At the bottom are a 3.5 headphone jack, a microphone, a USB-C port and a single down-firing speaker. The SIM card tray can house two nano SIM cards and it’s also got support for a dedicated SD card up to 2TB.

Realme Narzo N53 Display

Coming to the display, you get a 6.74-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1600 by 720 pixels. Now, even though this is not a full HD display, the text is very clearly visible and the colour reproduction is also actually quite good.

The overall display experience is so close to an AMOLED that most regular users would not even notice a difference.

Where you will notice a difference, however, is the 90hz refresh rate that provides smooth animations and a drastic upgrade from the regular 60hz refresh rate you get with other budget smartphones available in the market.

Users do get the option to switch the device to 60hz if needed. This is an interesting feature that will also help you save battery.

You can spot the Water Drop Notch housing the 8-megapixel front camera very easily at first glance. The Notch comes with a mini capsule and it’s basically a software feature which uses the camera’s Notch to provide you with more info about the battery.

For example, when you plug the device into charge, you can see Super VOOC charging along with the battery percentage with the blue ring around it. When the battery is full, it turns green from its red colour indicator which shows up when the battery is low.

With an OT update in future, it will also show you your data usage and your daily step statistics like a steps counter. This feature is currently at a very early stage so there’s no support for third-party apps.

Watching movies and videos on this smartphone is a pretty good experience. Its visuals are clear and bright. The device comes with Widevine L3 certification, so apps such as Netflix and Prime videos will be restricted to only 540p.

However, in our experience, we found the streaming experience really clear and very much viewable. Considering the price bracket, we believe the viewing experience is more than satisfactory.

Realme Narzo N53 Performance

To understand the performance capabilities of Realme Narzo N53, let’s start by looking at the hardware. The device is powered by the Unisoc T612 chipset. Now, this is not an extreme powerhouse but it’s not slouched either.

Basic routine apps such as WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, Gmail and Google Maps work like a breeze. Assuming most people are going to buy this phone are going to use these kinds of apps, we say the performance is in line with the expectations.

The unit we had for this review came with 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM type. There’s also another variant that comes with 4GB RAM and you can further expand by another 6 GB, giving a total of 12 GB RAM.
This is one of the most unique selling points of this device. To have such specifications for an under 10,000 smartphone is a total steal.

It helps launch apps quickly, multitasking becomes a breeze, and the best part is most often used apps are still in memory.

We ran some benchmarks starting with AnTuTu and we got the results of 221328, which is quite good for the price range. The storage type is EMMC 5.1 and we ran the test for that as well and we got the results of 304MB Read reading and 242MB Write reading. It’s definitely not the best in the market but okay for a smartphone at this price range.

When it comes to gaming, most basic games like Candy Crush and Subway Surfer will work really well. But we suggest you manage your gaming expectations considering the product price and certain hardware specifications. Casual gaming on this smartphone is good to go.

As for the user experience, it’s running on Android 13 Go Edition. It is a light version of Android that consumes lesser space and it’s well-optimized for mid-range chipsets. It mostly looks similar to stock Android.

Moreover, the everyday smartphone experience is very smooth and clean. When we are saying clean, we mean no unwanted features but surely we were annoyed with the addition of excessive bloatware. The good thing is you can delete most of the apps that you don’t need.

Realme Narzo N53 Camera

Realme Narzo N53 Makes Its Debut in India with Slim Design and Exciting Features - Smartprix

Let’s talk about the camera. Realme has packed some basic camera features that any user would expect to get in a smartphone in today’s time. We tried taking some pictures using the-50 megapixel rear camera with not much expectation and the results were really impressive.
During the daytime, the quality of the end shots is good, natural colours dynamic range is also pretty decent and very clear.

We also tried to take some shots in low light and in all honesty, the end shots seemed quite decent to us. Especially if you consider the price of this phone, the camera quality is surely what you are paying for. Certainly, it’s not great but it’s not bad either.

The full HD video shoot, short handheld was not the smoothest but still managed to maintain a good amount of detail in the end results.

The 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling was very clear. We tested it as well and it came out decent with good skin tones and ample brightness. Portrait shots were okay as was the Edge Detection 2 feature.
Selfies taken in low light, however, often came out blurry. Though after multiple attempts, we managed to take a pretty clear selfie using the same camera.

The front camera can record videos only up to 720p, which is pretty okay for the smartphone of this segment.

Realme Narzo N53 Battery

The Realme Narzo N53 is easily the slimmest Realme phone available in the market now and it is great that users do not have to do any battery trade-off to get such a sleek design.

The device unexpectedly comes with a huge 5000 mAh battery that will easily last you a day to even two days with light usage.

Moreover, we are delighted to see a 33-watt fast charger bundled with the device. Most under 10000 smartphones come with either a 10-watt or a maximum 18-watt charger. So, Realme here upgraded the overall power functionality and this is amazing.

The Narzo N53 gets you to 50 per cent power in half an hour and from 0 to 100 per cent battery charge in just about an hour and twenty minutes. This for a budget phone is surely beyond our expectations.

Verdict

Realme Narzo N53's primary camera resolution confirmed - GSMArena.com news

The Realme Narzo N53 has a lot of features that other smartphones in the under 10000 price bracket don’t have. This includes features such as the fingerprint scanner, a super slim design and a 33 Watt fast charging support.

Then we also get the exciting Mini Capsule feature that none of the phones in this price bracket offer. We would like to see this feature develop further in the future where we can make more use of it. But still, it’s a good start.

The Narza N53 packs in a lot for a budget phone. From watching movies to playing games, the smartphone gives you a powerhouse of entertainment. It is a perfect device for a regular smartphone user.

All-in-all, the smartphone is indeed a smart choice for people who are looking for an easy-to-use budget smartphone that gets most basic tasks done.

Nothing Phone (2) official launch confirmed for July; battery capacity revealed it will be bigger than Nothing Phone 1

Nothing Phone (2)

HIGHLIGHTS

* Nothing Phone (2) is also confirmed to get the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
* The device will get a slightly bigger battery compared to its predecessor.
* Nothing Phone (2) is expected to launch in India.
* Nothing Phone (2) launch month has been officially revealed.
* The flagship Nothing smartphone will debut in July.

Nothing Phone (2) is set to launch later this year. The company has confirmed that the Phone (2) launch event will be held in the summer of 2023. Ahead of the official launch, the company has started building hype around the product.

Nothing has confirmed that the Phone (2) will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

The Phone (2)’s choice of SoC will bring significant improvements across the board including battery life, network connectivity, and camera capabilities, among others, according to the company.

Nothing Phone (2)

Now, CEO Carl Pei has revealed some more details about the upcoming Nothing flagship smartphone.

During his interaction with Forbes, Pei revealed the battery specifications of the Phone (2).
The new details confirm that the Phone (2) will pack a bigger battery than its predecessor.
Pei also revealed the launch timeline of the Phone (2).

Let’s take a look at the Nothing Phone (2) specifications, features and other details known so far.

Nothing Phone (2) Battery Details

Nothing Phone (2)

Pei in an interview with Forbes revealed that the Nothing Phone (2) will pack a 4,700mAh battery. The charging details haven’t been revealed yet.

In comparison to the Nothing Phone (1)’s 4,500mAh battery, this is a slight increase but with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, it would be an 80% increase in overall performance improvement over the last gen.

On choosing the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip instead of the Gen 2, Pei gave the reason that this would make the Nothing Phone (2) remain accessible which is probably hinting at the price range for the smartphone.

Nothing Phone (2)

The Nothing Phone (1) sits at a comfortable spot in terms of pricing where it isn’t as expensive as the premium affordable smartphones but not too cheap either.

Going with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip would make the Nothing Phone (2) remain accessible.

Nothing Phone (2): Launch Details

Nothing Phone (2)

The Nothing Phone (2) is officially confirmed to launch worldwide in July. The exact launch date of the device has not been revealed yet. Ahead of the launch, Nothing’s CEO has revealed some new details.

Pei has confirmed that the upcoming Nothing flagship smartphone will pack a slightly bigger battery than the outgoing model. He revealed that the Phone (1) successor will launch with a 4700mAh battery. The first Nothing smartphone, in comparison, came with a 4500mAh battery.

The charging details of the device have been kept under wraps. It would not be surprising if Nothing launches the device with the same 33W fast charging support that its predecessor came with.

Nothing Phone (2)

Pei had previously revealed that the Phone (2) will launch with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. When asked about why not going ahead with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Pei said, “Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is a proven processor. It has been thoroughly tested and continuously optimised through numerous updates since its introduction a year ago. We prioritise user experience over being first in the specs race. Also, the latest technology comes at a cost which isn’t always justified from a user benefit standpoint. Choosing Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 ensures that Phone (2) remains accessible while delivering a significantly improved experience compared to Phone (1).”

Nothing Phone (2): Specifications Tipped

Nothing Phone (2)

While Pei has revealed some of the specifications of the upcoming Nothing smartphone, some key details about the camera, display and charging have been kept a secret.

There have been reports about the Phone (2) packing up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Considering the company launched the original Nothing Phone (1) with 8GB and 12GB of RAM, it would not be a surprise if the Phone (2) offers the same RAM and storage configuration.

The device is also tipped to sport a 120Hz AMOLED display. The screen size remains unknown but some rumours on the web have claimed that it will feature a 6.55-inch AMOLED panel, which is the same as its predecessor.

Nothing Phone (2)

The rumour mill has not managed to leak the Nothing Phone (2) camera specifications at the time of writing this. If there is any improvement, it should be over the 50MP main camera and the 50MP ultra-wide camera of the Phone (1).

Nothing has, by the way, confirmed that the device will feature support for video recording up to 4K 60fps.

Faqs on Nothing Phone (2)

1) What are Nothing Phone (2) expected specifications?

Ans) There’s still a lot that hasn’t leaked about the Nothing Phone (2) but based on what we’ve seen and confirmed so far, here’s all we know:

* The Nothing Phone (2) is expected to feature a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also said to house an in-display fingerprint sensor.
* The smartphone is rumoured to house a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP primary camera with OIS.
* When launched, the Nothing Phone (2) will most likely come in three variants of 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB.
* As for the confirmed specs, we know the Nothing Phone (2) will come with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a 4,700mAh battery.

2) Nothing Phone (2) launch timeline details?

Ans) Just earlier this month, it was announced that the Nothing Phone (2) will launch this summer. Pei has now revealed that the launch will take place in July and it’s going to be a global release. This means that the Nothing Phone (2) will launch in several countries at the same time so it should come to India soon.

In the interview, Pei also shared how the Nothing Phone (1) was a risky but successful launch as it confirmed that people are excited about something new in the Android smartphone market. He also pointed out how Apple doesn’t have a “really exciting alternative out there right now, especially for the younger generation.”
With the Nothing Phone (2), the company is most likely going ahead with the transparent design which was a big hit with the Nothing Phone (1). A very tiny teaser image of the phone also hints at this possibility.

3) Nothing Phone (2) is officially coming in July with a 4,700 mAh battery.Details?

Ans) Nothing’s second smartphone, the aptly named Phone (2), will arrive in July, according to CEO Carl Pei. He outed the information in an interview with Forbes today. Previously, Pei also revealed that the handset will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, making it a definite step above the mid-range Nothing Phone (1), while not quite being on par with 2023’s flagships that use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

That decision was related to the comparative costs of the two SoCs, and the company judged the latest chip not worthy of the premium. We’ll see how that pans out – we’d wager that a lot of people would be willing to swallow this if the price “is right”. If the price delta is too small compared to other flagships, then it will be a different situation.

The teaser image you can see above was shared by Nothing itself at the beginning of the month, and it now seems like the launch campaign is in full session, with the traditional OnePlus/Nothing style of drip-feeding us spec information every other week or so.
Speaking of which, today we got the battery size too: it’s going to be a 4,700 mAh cell. That’s 200 mAh more than the one in the Nothing Phone (1), but not quite up there with the standard nowadays, which is 5,000 mAh. How that will impact endurance remains to be seen of course.

4) Nothing Phone (2): 4700mAh battery, July launch confirmed.Details?

Ans) After confirming Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC for the Nothing Phone (2), the company’s founder Carl Pei in an interview with the Forbes has confirmed that the phone will pack a 4700mAh battery, slightly bigger than the 4500mAh battery in the Phone (1).

We can expect it to come with wireless charging support that was introduced with the Phone (1). He said that the company sold close to 750,000 units of Phone (1). The company is still selling the phone Phone (1).

When asked about choosing the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 over the new 8 Gen 2 for the Phone (2), he said that it is a much more optimized chip with several updates, and the company prioritizes user experience over being first in the specs race. Another reason is also keeping the cost in check.

We still don’t have the camera specifications of the phone. Benchmark listings revealed 12GB of RAM and Android 13 for the phone. Based on earlier rumours, the phone will get a FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display and up to 256GB of storage, but the phone is also expected to come in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB models as well, similar to the Phone (1).
The Nothing Phone (2) will launch in July 2023, the same time the Nothing Phone (1) was launched last year. This time, the company will also launch the phone in the U.S. along with other countries. It will be sold on Flipkart in India, similar to the Phone (1) and earbuds.

OnePlus 12 Key Specifications

HIGHLIGHTS

* OnePlus will be the company’s next flagship smartphone and it’s expected to debut towards the end of the year.
* A new tip now suggests the key specifications of the OnePlus 12 smartphone.
* OnePlus 12’s specifications tipped for the first time.
* It might be the first device to be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
* The smartphone is scheduled to launch in Q1 of 2024 in global markets.
* Here’s a look at what we know about the OnePlus 12 so far.

OnePlus announced at the OnePlus 11 launch event that it wouldn’t launch any other smartphones in the OnePlus 11 series apart from OnePlus 11R.

The company is currently working on its first foldable smartphones OnePlus Z Fold and OnePlus Z Flip, which were tipped recently. Apart from these foldable smartphones, the other major launch of a OnePlus device in 2023 would be the upcoming OnePlus 12 smartphone.

OnePlus 12 Key SpecificationsAhead of the launch, renowned tipster Yogesh Brar has tipped the specifications of the forthcoming smartphones. The tipped specifications indicate that OnePlus won’t bring a massive upgrade over the existing OnePlus 11 5G smartphone.

The OnePlus 12 is still months away from its official debut but the rumour mill is already busy with its expected specifications and features. Just last week it was tipped that the OnePlus 12 will come with a massive camera upgrade, and now another tipster has leaked what’s supposed to be the smartphone’s key specifications.

The newest leak comes from tipster Yogesh Brar who has revealed what could be the OnePlus 12’s display, processor, cameras and battery. The tipster also added the possible launch timeline for the OnePlus 12 which is said to be December this year but in China. The smartphone will most likely arrive in other markets including India early 2024.

OnePlus 12 Tipped Specifications

OnePlus 12 Key Specifications

The tipster revealed that OnePlus 12 will continue to use a large 6.7 inches OLED display with a QHD+ resolution. The display will also continue to sport the same refresh rate of 120Hz.

OnePlus had used a similar sized panel with OnePlus 11 smartphone, which was an LTPO3 Fluid AMOLED with support for Doly Vision, HDR10+, and more.
The biggest change would be the upgradation of its chipset to the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Qualcomm is tipped to announce the chipset by the end of November or early December. The upcoming chipset will bear the model number SM8650 and is said to offer a 35% improvement in energy efficiency.

OnePlus 12 Key Specifications

Other reports on the web said that the chipset would pack one prime Cortex-X4 CPU core clocked at 3.7 GHz, five other performance cores, and two smaller efficiency cores.

Qualcomm has confirmed that it will use the Snapdragon X75 modem to offer Satellite connectivity. Digital Chat Station tipped that the chipset will continue to use the 4nm process and integrate the Adreno 750 GPU.

Another update to the forthcoming OnePlus 12 will include a periscope sensor. Yogesh revealed the rear-camera setup consists of a triple camera including a primary 50MP sensor, another 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a periscope 64MP sensor.

He added that OnePlus will continue to pack a large 5000 mAh battery with 100W fast charging tech support. The tipster also revealed the smartphone’s launch timeline. OnePlus is likely to launch the device in December in China. The upcoming OnePlus 12 smartphone might be the first device to launch with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

OnePlus 12 Key Specifications

As we mentioned in the introduction, the upcoming OnePlus 12 5G smartphone doesn’t have a huge improvement over its predecessor. OnePlus 11 5G has a 6.7-inch Fluid LTPO AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Regarding optics, it sports a 50MP Sony IMX 890 primary sensor with OIS, a 48MP Sony IMX 581 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 32MP Sony IMX 709 telephoto sensor.

Faqs on OnePlus 12

1) What are OnePlus 12 specifications (Expected)?

Ans) Based on the latest leak, here’s a look at what the OnePlus 12 is expected to come with.
* Display: The OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a 6.7-inch QHD OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
* Processor: Under the hood of the phone could be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor which will debut towards the end of this year. It will be Qualcomm’s flagship mobile chipset and offer a 35 percent improvement in energy efficiency.
* Battery, charging: The smartphone is said to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.
* Cameras: The OnePlus 12 is said to feature a triple camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 64MP periscope lens.
* Speaking of which, the periscope lens will be a major camera upgrade for the OnePlus 12 since it will be able to offer much better zoom capabilities. This is already present in most premium flagship smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and Google Pixel 7 Pro that offer 10x optical zoom and 5x optical zoom, respectively.

2) OnePlus 12 key specifications leaked months before launch.Details?

Ans) * OnePlus 12 is expected to launch in China in December 2023
* A new leak has revealed the key specifications of the device
* It will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a periscope zoom camera

OnePlus 12 key specifications have been tipped. The leak, courtesy of tipster Yogesh Brar, has revealed information on the display, processor, rear cameras, battery, and charging capabilities of OnePlus’ next flagship phone.

The leak reveals that the OnePlus 12 could be the first smartphone from the brand to feature a periscope zoom camera. Qualcomm is expected to announce the next-generation chip in November this year. It is likely that the said chip will power the OP112.

According to the tipster, the OnePlus 12 will be equipped with a 6.7-inch OLED display that offers a Quad HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It appears that it will continue to feature a punch-hole screen with curved edges and an in-display fingerprint scanner, like the OnePlus 11.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is likely to power the OnePlus 12. While it is not mentioned in the leak, it appears that it could be equipped with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The device is expected to run on Android 14 OS and OxygenOS 14.
There is no word on the front camera of the OnePlus 12. However, the leak states that it will be equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel periscope zoom camera.

The OP12 will arrive with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 100W charging. It is unclear whether the device will lack support for wireless charging.

The OnePlus 11 debuted in December 2022 in China and was announced in February this year in India. Hence, it is likely that the OnePlus 12 will arrive in the Indian market by the first quarter of 2024.

3) OnePlus 12 rumor suggests incoming periscope telephoto lens.Details?

Ans) OnePlus has been making huge progress with its phone cameras in recent years. The OnePlus 11, in particular, is one of the best camera phones around. The OnePlus 12 might be taking things a little further and adding a long-awaited piece of camera hardware: a periscope lens.

This rumor comes from a Weibo post (via PhoneArena (opens in new tab) ), claiming OnePlus is testing a new periscope lens to improve the optical zoom capabilities of the OnePlus 12. Considering the OnePlus 11’s telephoto lens currently offers 2x optical zoom, that upgrade would be long overdue.

The leaker claims that Oneplus and RealMe “both have periscope arrangements. They are currently testing on the SM8650 product line.” SM8650, as PhoneArena notes, is the expected codename for the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That would line up with this being a OnePlus 12 feature, since the chip isn’t due until later this year and the OnePlus 12 won’t be arriving until early 2024.

Other phone companies are fast increasing their phones’ level of magnification, so this is a feature OnePlus can’t afford to ignore — not like it’s sort of done with wireless charging. Even Apple, a company that also doesn’t rush to offer new hardware features is said to be adding a periscope lens to the iPhone 15 Pro Max — and potentially even the iPhone 16 Pro next year.

The thing about telephoto lenses and optical zoom is that they need space — and the higher the magnification the more space is required. Keeping a traditional horizontal lens naturally limits how much magnification you can offer, because going too high inevitably increases the thickness of the phone. And if there’s anything modern smartphone companies hate, it’s unnecessarily thick phones.

The periscope lens helps solve that problem, by bending the light 90 degrees into a vertical telephoto lens setup. Just like the periscope of a submarine. Storing the lens vertically means there’s a lot more available space to exploit, allowing phones to offer much higher levels of magnification without altering the exterior design too much.

We declared the OnePlus 11 as the best value flagship Android phone in our OnePlus11 review. The camera was particularly noteworthy, especially given OnePlus’s now-long-running partnership with Hasselblad. It’s not enough to seriously compete with better camera phones, like the Pixel 7 Pro.

The 2x telephoto zoom was a particular let down, especially after the 3,3x optical zoom of the OnePlus 10 Pro. Here’s hoping that this new periscope camera can fix that problem, and offer some serious magnification on the OnePlus 12. And hopefully for a similar kind of price to the OnePlus 11.

4) OnePlus 12 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and feature a big camera upgrade says tipster.Details?

Ans) A post made on the Chinese social media site Weibo by tipster Digital Chat Station (via AndroidAuthority) indicates that OnePlus is looking to upgrade its camera array for the next flagship release. The tipster, who correctly leaked Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon naming plan before it was announced by the chip designer back in 2021, now says that OnePlus is testing a periscope camera on a product associated with a model number of “SM8650.” The latter turns out to be the rumored identity code of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

So let’s add up the clues. The device in question will be powered by Qualcomm’s 2024 top-of-the-line application processor, it is expected to have a periscope camera, and it is being manufactured by OnePlus. It’s not too hard to figure out that Digital Chat Station is writing about the OnePlus 12. In his Weibo post, the tipster says that both OnePlus and Realme, both brands that are under the umbrella of Chinese manufacturer BBK Electronics, are testing the inclusion of a periscope camera on phones that will sport the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

The post also notes that not all of the phones will use the OmniVision 64B image sensor which has backed several telephoto lenses using a periscope camera. A periscope camera offers greater optical zoom capabilities than you would normally be able to get from a device as small as a smartphone. That’s because normally the focal length of the lens cannot exceed the thickness of the handset.

But with a periscope camera, the lens inside the device is folded up and mirrored prisms are used to help bend the light helping to take it from the lens to the image sensor. For example, without a periscope camera, the OnePlus 11 delivers 2x optical zoom. The Pixel 7 Pro, which does have a periscope camera, can give users up to 5x optical zoom and the periscope camera on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra gives users up to 10x optical zoom.

5) OnePlus may finally adopt a periscope zoom camera.Details?

Ans) A big trend in smartphones over the past few years has been the “periscope” zoom camera, and it seems OnePlus will finally adopt the tech in an upcoming release.

Periscope lenses in smartphones allow for zoom that goes beyond 2-3x. Google uses the technique in Pixel phones to hit up to 5x optical zoom, while Samsung uses it for the 10x telephoto lens on its Ultra devices, and countless other brands have been jumping on board too. Even Apple is rumored to introduce a periscope lens on its next iPhone.

But OnePlus, surprisingly, has yet to use a periscope zoom lens in its smartphones. The OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 11 both maxed out with traditional zoom methods at 3.3x and 2x respectively.

It seems that may soon change, though. Digital Chat Station reports on Weibo that OnePlus has a “periscope arrangement” in the pipeline, with testing underway. It’s unclear what optical zoom level OnePlus is aiming for, but the simple fact the brand is finally jumping on board is great to see.

Presumably, this would make its debut in the OnePlus 12 sometime next year. OnePlus’ next smartphone is expected to be its first foldable, which would be a relatively odd place for the tech to debut. Periscope lenses are quite rare in foldables, with Google’s new Pixel Fold offering the tech, as well as Huawei’s Mate X3 and some others. But most stick with rather basic camera hardware for the sake of space.

Shahid Kapoor on Bloody Daddy’s OTT Release: Shahid Kapoor charged Rs 40 crore for the OTT film? Cast, Crew, OTT Platform, Release Date & More

0

Digital Platforms are becoming increasingly popular in India these days as more and more people are turning to watch quality content from the comfort of their homes as per their convenience.

The biggest of performers like Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Manoj Bajpayee, and Shahid Kapoor have been taking the OTT route so as to reach a wider audience worldwide and create quality content.

Recently Reliance Jio Studios recently announced a slate of 100 movies and web series across Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, and Bhojpuri languages that will stream on the Jio Cinema app in 2023-24. One of the first releases announced by the studio was Bollywood heartthrob Shahid Kapoor’s starrer ‘Bloody Daddy’.

Bloody Daddy

The movie will have a direct-to-digital release and the trailer of the movie has finally been launched today which sees Shahid Kapoor in a never seen before avatar. The movie is expected to be the official adaption of the 2011 French movie Nuit Blanche and Shahid gives a glimpse of being desi John Wick.

Things are about to get bloody, with Shahid Kapoor getting into action mode for the Ali Abbas Zafar film ‘Bloody Daddy’.

“Shahid Kapoor also mentioned that ‘Bloody Daddy’ was designed for an OTT release and that a big theatrical release was never on the cards. “It’s something we planned 3 years ago,” he said and added, “We worked very hard to make it. We had many challenges to face but we managed to make the film in one go. It was my first actioner and we designed it for OTT. Many people asked me why are we not releasing it in theatres but we had designed it for OTT.”

Bloody Daddy

He further went on to reveal that exhibitors had called them and asked them to release their movie in theatres. Sharing his thoughts about the changing medium of watching films today, he said, “A few years back, the people who were open to change realised that this is the reality and it’s going to happen. Watching content at home is more like a comfortable experience and going to theatres is like an event experience where you go to a theatre, and spend a day out with family. So, they both can co-exist. They are not eating up on each other. Even though a lot of people wanted this film to be out in theatres. Exhibitors called and told us to release this film in theatres, but we stuck to what we had thought – which is a big screen experience on OTT.”

‘Bloody Daddy’ also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Diana Penty and Ronit Roy in the lead roles and is slated to release on June 9.

Bloody Daddy

After gaining massive viewership thanks to IPL, Jio Cinema is now launching its first set of original content. After the film Kacchey Limbu and Randeep Hooda-starrer web show Inspector Avinash, Shahid Kapoor’s actioner Bloody Daddy will also drop on the platform. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, it is a remake of French movie Sleepless Night (2011).

At the trailer launch of the film, Shahid and Ali spoke about their film and pressed on the fact that it was best suited for OTT.

Bloody Daddy

The filmmaker, who has earlier made films like Tiger Zinda Hai and Sultan shared that every film has its own cinematic language, and Bloody Daddy’s needed a digital platform to tell the story honestly.

“Content is evolving and in the past three years, we have all seen how audiences’ preferences have changed. Also, when you make content for OTT, it’s a bigger responsibility to mount it at a larger scale, at international level, as people across would be watching it. The budgets today are big and one can create a similar movie experience, to be consumed on one’s own devices. As for Bloody Daddy, the film deals with drugs, blood, and gore, and it was important that we kept it on the same ground. We didn’t want to tamper it to suit it for theatres, and thus decided to have a direct-to-digital release,” Ali said.

Bloody Daddy

As the host discussed how some of the recent IPL matches had more than 2.5 crore tuning in, Shahid Kapoor said that the numbers in actuality is many fold more. He said, “That is the number of devices logged in. Every TV in India on average has 3-4 people watching, and hence the total number would be close to 10 crore. It’s a great achievement if we can actually reach that many audiences for our film.”

The actor also added that both OTT and theatres will continue to be part of the same ecosystem and not clash with one another. As artists and creators, he also added that the energies can be divided.

While watching content at home is a more personal experience, theatre will continue to be an event for families. Both will have their own phase. For content creators, there are more avenues to choose from, and they just need to know which platform they should take their content to, and then work towards it. Everyone has been telling us how our film could have been in theatres, it’s slick and cool. Even exhibitors called us, wanting it but we had truly envisioned Bloody Daddy on a digital platform. It was created for OTT,” the actor said.

Bloody Daddy

Shot amid the pandemic, Shahid Kapoor revealed that the film was shot in a record 36 days. He added that given they had to work in a restricted environment leading to higher production cost and efforts, Ali brought down the number of working days. He also shared that he has known Ali even before he became a director, and was looking forward to collaborating with him.

Also starring Rajeev Khandelwal, Ronit Bose Roy and Sanjay Kapoor, Bloody Daddy will stream free on Jio Cinema starting June 9.

Faqs on Bloody Daddy

1) Shahid Kapoor On Bloody Daddy’s OTT release: Exhibitors Wanted Theatrical Release.Details?

Ans) A few weeks ago, when Jio Studios announced its slate, they released a teaser of Shahid Kapoor starrer Bloody Daddy. The teaser received a fantastic response, and Shahid was seen in a never-seen-before role in it.

The Action packed trailer of Shahid Kapoor’s Bloody Daddy was released on May 24 and the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial will stream exclusively on Jio Cinema. Soon after the first teaser of the film was dropped a few weeks ago, a section of fans and moviegoers requested the makers to give Bloody Daddy a big screen release. Speaking of the same, during the trailer launch event, Shahid Kapoor stated that it was “designed for OTT.”

Shahid asserted, “I saw a lot of comments when the teaser came out and you know, why aren’t you putting this out in the theatres? And trust me, we were all tempted. But this is designed for OTT, and it was meant to be for that kind of platform. So we’re very very fortunate that this film will be coming out right after the IPL when all the eyeballs are on the Jio Cinema and can’t wait to share the film with you guys.”

He concluded by adding, “This is the first time we showed the trailer. I’m so glad it was not on phone and it was a nice big screen because that’s where it’s fun to see an action film and I hope people would be watching it on the biggest possible TV back home.”

Speaking of the film, filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar said, “We see a lot of dark crime thrillers in the West, but hardly any in India that are made at that level and intensity. Bloody Daddy breaks all stereotypes right from Shahid’s transformation into a ‘killing machine’ to being one of the first direct-to-OTT films to be created at this grand scale! Bloody Daddy is a hard-hitting out-and-out dark action thriller that promises raw and real action,” in a statement.

A few weeks ago, when Jio Studios announced its slate, they released a teaser of Shahid Kapoor starrer Bloody Daddy. The teaser received a fantastic response, and Shahid was seen in a never-seen-before role in it.

2) Bloody Daddy: Shahid Kapoor charged Rs 40 crore for the OTT film? Here’s what he has to say

Ans) Shahid Kapoor has turned into Bloody Daddy for his OTT film, and boy, the trailer is spellbinding. The fans are bowled over by his suave and sexy appearance, and it’s reminding them of Al Pacino’s gangster film Scarface. Now that’s a biggie for Shahid. At the trailer launch of the film, Shahid spoke largely about the film and even addressed the rumours of him charging a whopping 40 crore for this film, Bloody Daddy. The fans are in love with Shahid Kapoor’s action avatar and are calling it a smash hit already. Fans are apologising Shahid Kapoor for taking his chocolate boy image way too seriously.

Shahid Kapoor jokingly reacted that he wishes somebody paid him that much and looked at his filmmaker, Ali Abbas Zafar, who too took a funny dig at this statement of Shahid and said that this is the least amount that has been reported. Now we wonder if Ali was speaking the truth, but talking about Shahid’s fees for this film, Bloody Daddy, is totally deserving; the actor has been making some remarkable choices and is showing his acting prowess, which proves why he is still so relevant and the ruling star in Bollywood.

Shahid had made his debut with the Farzi web series, and the fans went gaga over him, and now Bloody Daddy is going to be another game changer. Talking about why he is choosing such destructive films and web series, the actor jokingly said that his life is very much at peace and his wife is not creating any ruckus, so by choosing such films he is bringing chaos into his life. Shahid, damn sweet.

Powering the smartphone under the hood there could be an overclocked version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The handset might pack LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The device is suspected to ship with a larger battery which could offer 100W fast charging support.

Past reports suggest that the handset will feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS support. The device might sport a circular camera module like that of the Realme 11 Pro series smartphones.

Digital Chat Station revealed earlier that the handset will debut alongside the Realme 11 series. However, we now expect the phone to launch sometime in Q3 this year. We should get to learn more details about the handset if it arrives on a few certifications, and benchmark listing in the coming few weeks.

As mentioned above, Realme introduced the Realme GT Neo 5 SE smartphone last month in China. The device comes with a 6.74-inch AMOLED display that has a 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 2160Hz PWM Dimming.

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC under the hood. The device packs 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. As for the imaging purpose, the handset features a 64MP triple-camera setup and an 8MP selfie camera.

For security purposes, the Realme GT Neo 5 SE has an in-display fingerprint sensor. The handset packs a 5500mAh battery which offers 100W fast charging support.
