Despite the film’s box office success, the streaming service has decided to release it. Even if the OTT release is fantastic news for individuals who can’t watch the movie on a big screen, fans of 2018 are somewhat dissatisfied with it.

They are dissatisfied with the decision, as they feel, the movie still has the potential to become a mega-blockbuster of all time in the Malayalam film industry.

When and Where to Watch 2018?

SonyLiv has announced that it will be streaming the Malyali blockbuster movie on its platform from June 7th. Viewers will need a subscription to the streaming giant’s services to watch the movie.

Movie/ Show Name OTT Platform Release Date Language
2018 SonyLiv June 7 Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi

SonyLIV on Monday confirmed the digital premiere of Malayalam cinema’s biggest blockbuster yet, 2018 . The movie, starring Tovino Thomas, will become available for streaming on the platform on June 7, just over a month after its initial release in cinemas.

2018 had a quiet theatrical release on May 5. The movie was released across the country on a limited number of screens as if the filmmakers never had a clue about the movie’s box office potential.

The movie soon started garnering positive reviews and terrific word of mouth ensured the movie’s massive success at the box office against all odds.

2018 has already become the highest-earning Malayalam movie globally with a whopping Rs 160 crore in global ticket sales. To cash in on the momentum, the filmmakers also released the movie last week in multiple languages across the country.

However, the film’s box office potential may not be fully realized due to contractual obligations with the streaming platform. Reports suggest that the producers had initially considered postponing the digital release of the film to a later date.

In response, the streaming platform expressed willingness to negotiate the terms but requested a re-evaluation of the selling price. Apparently, the producers were not willing to compromise on the previously agreed-upon price and opted to proceed with the early release date.

The producers clearly underestimated the potential of 2018, inspired by the real-life events in Kerala. The movie is on a record-setting spree since its release.

It has already raked in over Rs 80 crore in Kerala alone. If the movie continues its bullish run it could also become the first movie to cross the Rs 100 mark at the Kerala box office.

The all-time biggest blockbuster of Malayalam cinema, 2018 will be available to stream on SonyLIV from June 7. Even as the film is doing well in theatres, the streaming platform has decided to release it.

Though it is happy news for people who are not able to catch the movie on the big screen, fans of 2018 are a bit disappointed with the OTT release.

On Reddit, a user wrote, “Very disappointed, it’s too soon and should’ve been postponed…I had a big wish that the movie could’ve got a final maximum gross of 100 crore, from Kerala. At this rate, the maximum gross will be 90 crores.”

Another wrote, “Why so fast? BO is still strong! Also, they just released in other languages. At least give it time to catch up with word of mouth or something. Now all will be waiting for OTT!”

Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, the film is based on the 2018 Kerala floods that led to the loss of lives and a huge loss of property. It is currently the biggest hit in the history of Malayalam cinema earning more than Rs 160 crore from across the world.

Talking about the OTT release of 2018, Joseph said, “2018: Everyone is a Hero is a homage to the collective experience of the people of Kerala during the 2018 floods and to be able to bring it to the screen and see the kind of love it has been receiving has been a truly fulfilling experience. Through this film, we aimed to commemorate the heroism and courage shown by every individual during the catastrophe. With the film now set to stream on SonyLIV, more and more people get to witness our story and the extraordinary spirit of humanity that helped the state triumph.”

The film stars Tovino Thomas, Kunchako Boban, Asif Ali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparna Balamurali, Kalaiyarasan, Indrans, Sudheesh, Aju Varghese, Thanvi Ram, and Gauthami Nair.

2018 Official Trailer and Plot

SonyLiv released the trailer of the movie just a day ago and it has got 549,587 views till now and showing the anticipation of the movie among the audience. The 2018 floods that ravaged areas of Kerala serve as the backdrop for the movie, which centers on tales of humanity overcoming hardship.

It is the second Tovino project, following the superhero film “Minnal Murali” from 2021, to garner widespread notice and acclaim from the public. Tovino Thomas portrays a young guy who, using a false medical certificate, escapes the Indian Army and finds redemption during the floods.

The movie is directed and written by Jude Anthany Joseph along with P. Dharmajan. Akhil George handled the camera for the movie and the music was composed by Nobin Paul. The movie is produced by Anto Joseph, C. K. Padma Kumar, and Venu Kunnappilly under the banner Kavya Film Company and P.K. Prime Production.

Reception

The movie, which Jude Anthany Joseph directed, has made Rs 100 crore worldwide thanks to a strong box office performance. With this, it became the first Malayalam movie to enter the 100-crore club within the first few days.

Producers of the movie also shared a poster to announce this feat. IMDb gave the film a ranking of 8.8, which shows the love the movie has got from the audience. So, mark your calendar to watch the movie, and do tell us what you feel about the story.

HIGHLIGHTS

* WhatsApp users are battling a new kind of bug that’s spreading through an innocuous link sent to them.
* The link is “wa.me/settings,” which is intended to take users to the settings page of WhatsApp.
* The bug is affecting only Android users, and iOS users are safe.

WhatsApp is the most popular and most used instant messaging platform globally. The app has more than 2 billion active users globally and more than 100 billion messages sent every day.

WhatsApp is rolling out new features almost daily to make the platform bigger and better for its users. However, with a platform of this magnitude, bugs and issues are bound to crop up from time to time.

The latest bug is caused by a simple “wa.me/settings” link, which causes the app to enter a crash loop on Android devices.

Here’s everything you need to know about the latest WhatsApp bug.

WhatsApp Users on Android Are Experiencing Crash Loop Due to a Simple Link

WhatsApp Crash

The new WhatsApp bug was first reported by the Twitter user @BruteBee two days ago. It has since blown up all over social media, with many users and publications reporting it as accurate.

Reportedly, sending the shortened link for the native WhatsApp settings page – “wa.me/settingsto someone will cause their WhatsApp app to enter a crash loop. The issue happens only for Android users, and iOS users are safe from the bug.

The link is meant to redirect users to the WhatsApp settings page. Brute Bee explained that the issue is happening due to IndexOutOfBoundsException occurring whenever someone clicks the link. It suggests that the user is trying to access an empty element.

The bug affects regular and WhatsApp Business users on Android 12 and 13. The crash loop only happens when clicking on the chat containing the link.

How to Fix WhatsApp Crash Loop Issue?

WhatsApp Crash

You can simply not open the chat that has the URL to avoid the crash loop. But if it’s an important conversation, users can try a simple workaround involving the WhatsApp web.

Follow the steps below to fix the WhatsApp crash loop caused by “wa.me/settings.”

1. Open WhatsApp Web on your laptop.
2. Sign in to your WhatsApp account by scanning the QR code.
3. Scroll to the chat containing the URL and open it.
4. Delete the text containing the “wa.me/settings” text.
5. The WhatsApp crash loop should be fixed on your device now.

As mentioned before, the bug only affects Android users and on mobile. There has been no official update from the Meta-owned platform, but we can expect the company to fix the issue soon.

8 Easy Ways To Fix “WhatsApp Keeps Crashing” On Android Phones

WhatsApp Crash

WhatsApp keeps stopping” on Android is one of the most frustrating issues you can ever experience on your phone. Not because other apps don’t crash, too, but WhatsApp is just that Instant Messaging app that most people rely on to connect with friends and family.

And when the WhatsApp “crashing” or “stopping” issue is now rampant on your Android phone, there are a couple of ways to get over it.

Try the clear solutions below to fix WhatsApp not working on your phone. Assuredly, you’d be able to connect with your friends again after following the solutions!

Method 1. Restart WhatsApp First

One first thing you should do when WhatsApp keeps crashing on your Android phone is to restart it. Hopefully, it’s just a minimal hiccup that you can fix by restarting WhatsApp. All you need is just to Force stop WhatsApp and relaunch it. Here’s how to do so:

* Launch Settings on your Android phone.
* Find and select Apps & Notifications.
* Select Apps info to view all apps (Some devices may state it as Manage apps; See all apps, etc.)
* Now, locate and click WhatsApp on the app list.
* Finally, tap on Force stop to close WhatsApp. Relaunch it to see if the problem is fixed.

Method 2. Now Restart Your Phone

If WhatsApp keeps closing, even after restarting it, the next thing you should do is restart your phone itself. First, let’s ask you, “When last did you restart your phone?” Restarting your phone has been trusted for ages for fixing most software and hardware-related issues.

And now that your WhatsApp keeps crashing on Android, Restarting your phone could fix it.

Here are two ways to restart your phone if you’re unaware.

* Hold down the Power key on your phone, and tap on Restart. Some phones may require you to swipe to restart. You’ll see the guidelines there, anyway.
* To force restart your phone, hold down the Power key for about 8 to 10 seconds until you see the Android logo.
* Try launching WhatsApp after rebooting your phone to see if it works.

Meanwhile, always make time to restart your phone regularly.

Method 3. Update both WhatsApp and Your Phone

WhatsApp is working on two upgrades for Android and iPhone: here's what is new | Express.co.uk

App and system updates take a big role in maintaining your user experience on Android, and it can be the only thing you need to do when WhatsApp keeps stopping on your phone.
Though a sheer number of people don’t fancy apps and system updates, especially when they don’t notice any visual changes after the update.

But we can assure you that updates have a lot to do with just introducing new features. App developers and OEMs push out updates periodically to fix software bugs, enhance security, improve performance, and others.

Method 4. Erase WhatsApp Cache Data

How to Clear Your WhatsApp Cache

Every app on Android uses the cache system to store some data temporarily, mainly to enhance the app and make it use fewer resources.

But the cache could also cause WhatsApp to keep stopping when it’s corrupted or unneeded. The surest way to fix that is clearing the WhatsApp cache data on your phone, by following the simple steps below.

* Launch Settings on your Android phone.
* Scroll down a bit and select Apps & Notifications.
* Select Apps info to view all apps; some devices may state it as Manage apps; See all apps, etc.
* Find and select WhatsApp on the app list.
* Now, click on Storage & Cache.
* Finally, tap on Clear Cache.

Note: Do not tap Clear Storage now, so you don’t lose your WhatsApp chat history!

Method 5. Free Up Your Phone’s Storage Space

Keeping your phone in excellent condition requires you to have enough free storage space on your Android phone. You might not be able to access certain functions if your phone is running out of storage.

And to ensure that’s not why WhatsApp keeps stopping, go to Settings > Storage to check your phone storage. If you have less than 1GB of free storage, we recommend you should free up your storage space.

You can delete unnecessary apps, watching videos, junk files, etc. Just make sure the storage is free.

One last solution you need to try deleting and installing WhatsApp again. Perhaps WhatsApp got corrupted on your phone, and the only way out is to start afresh. The process will clear WhatsApp data, but you’ll be able to restore your chats if you do a backup.

* On the interface, click the 3-dot button on the top-right and select Settings.

WhatsApp Crash

Faqs

1) Don’t type this very normal link into WhatsApp on Android, it will crash loop.Details?

Ans) If you send someone a shortened URL, it will cause a WhatsApp crash loop on Android.
* The URL is “wa.me/settings,” which would normally take you to the WhatsApp settings page.
* The crash loop will happen every time you open up the affected chat. Deleting that message is the only fix for now.

Since WhatsApp is the most popular messaging service globally, one can only imagine the number of URLs sent and received daily on the platform. One URL, though, appears to be wreaking havoc on the Android version of WhatsApp.

As first spotted by Brute Bee on Twitter and verified by us sending the URL “wa.me/settings” causes a WhatsApp crash loop. It only appears to be a problem on the Android version of the app but does appear to affect both the consumer and business versions. The device we tested this on was running version 2.23.10.77, although other versions might also be affected.

Normally, “wa.me/settings” would link to WhatsApp’s settings. However, with this bug, it crashes the app completely. When it restarts, things work normally, but if you try to access the chat again, it will initiate the crash loop. This can be replicated over and over again. Thankfully, no other chats are affected, so you can avoid the crash loop by simply not opening that particular chat again.

To fix the problem, the easiest workaround is to use WhatsApp on the web — which is not affected by the bug — and delete the message with the URL. This will return things back to normal.

Hopefully, Meta will fix this WhatsApp crash loop soon. In the meantime, the previously mentioned workaround is your best fix if you find yourself affected.

The leaked information aligns with earlier rumours, confirming the presence of a remarkable 5x periscope lens, a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and a fast 50W wireless charging capability.

However, the latest leak unveils an intriguing development: Xiaomi may also be working on an Explorer edition concept folding phone, potentially unveiling it alongside the highly anticipated Mix Fold3.

Although concrete details about this concept phone are scarce at the moment, Xiaomi enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating more information. With an expected launch date in August, Xiaomi fans won’t have to wait much longer to witness the groundbreaking Mix Fold3 in action.

Besides, there is no information about the upcoming foldable smartphone made available by the tipster.

Nevertheless, we can expect more leaks and possible renders coming on the way as we move closer to the launch.

Moreover, DCS revealed that the MIX Fold 3 will boast a periscope telephoto camera capable of 5x optical zoom, enhancing its photography capabilities. Additionally, the device is said to support 50W wireless charging, promising efficient power replenishment.

Notably, it is rumored to offer flexibility in terms of angles at which the device can be opened. Let’s look at the other details known so far about the smartphone.

Design and Display

Xiaomi MIX Fold 3

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 has a foldable OLED display that measures 8.01 inches when unfolded. The screen has a resolution of 1860 x 2480 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. When folded, the phone has a glass front and a plastic back, with a Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The phone is available in black and ceramic colors, with a ceramic back and an aluminium frame. As reported by PhoneAqua, the phone weighs 317g when the glass front is folded and 262g when unfolded.

Placing the front camera under the display is one of the major talking points of this device. It is not easy to achieve because the camera needs to receive enough light for a decent output.
Since the screen is transparent, it is a big issue. For this reason, under display camera is not so popular even though a few mobile phones use it.

HIGHLIGHTS

* Apple will launch the upcoming iPhones in September 2023.
* The upcoming iPhones are tipped to feature support for Qi2 wireless charging standard.
* The vanilla models are also tipped to feature a new 48MP primary camera sensor.
* A new leak suggests the new crop of iPhones could adopt the recently announced Qi2 wireless charging
* Past rumours have talked about the inclusion of a USB-C port, among other things, for the iPhone 15 series
* Much like in the years past, Apple could unveil the new iPhone 15 models in September

Apple is gearing up for the launch of the upcoming iPhone 15 series smartphones. The series would include iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max. The launch of these smartphones is scheduled for September.

Ahead of the launch, the CAD renders of the iPhone 16 Pro series smartphones were leaked. These smartphones will launch in September 2024, and the camera design and specifications were also tipped recently.

iPhone 15

Many reports regarding the upcoming 15 series smartphones revealed the design, CAD renders, and more. A new report from ChargerLab has revealed the wireless charging support of vanilla 15.

We’re currently looking forward to Apple’s annual iPhone refresh — the iPhone 15 — likely to be revealed in September. Leaks and rumours have provided valuable insight into the direction Apple is taking with its upcoming smartphone lineup.

A report originating from ChargerLab now suggests that the Cupertino-based electronics giant will offer the Qi2 wireless charging standard on the next-gen iPhones, unlocking 15W wireless charging for non-MagSafe chargers.

We’re taking this revelation with a grain of salt, given that the WPC (Wireless Power Consortium) took the wraps off the latest Qi2 charging standard only recently at CES 2023.

iPhone 15

As iPhone users are likely aware already, the existing crop of iPhones, such as the iPhone 14, only supports 15W wireless charging on MagSafe-supported accessories. The phones can only charge at 7.5W while using a standard third-party Qi wireless charger.

If true, this move would signal a drastic shift in how Apple handles third-party charging accessories. The company usually likes to hold a firm grip on third-party accessories, restricting users to either buying an expensive MFi or Apple-certified product or facing the risk of not being able to use the device to its full potential.

A potential game-changer for third-party wireless chargers?

iPhone 15

With the rumoured inclusion of the Qi2 wireless charging standard on the iPhone 15, a wide range of manufacturers would be able to sell supported chargers at a fraction of the MagSafe accessory’s price.

As we mentioned above, it’s too early to jump to conclusions since Apple usually isn’t the quickest to launch a newly released tech. But we’re hopeful to see this on board, considering the fact that other smartphone makers have long breached the 15W wireless charging barrier.

iPhone 15

Other features like Dynamic Island and a USB-C port for charging and data transfer are also expected to be on board the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models this year.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s rear camera setup could feature a new periscope lens, pushing the device’s camera credentials even further while slightly tweaking the arrangement of the sensors.

Apple iPhone 15 Tipped Features and Specifications

iPhone 15

The report reveals that Apple will support Qi2 wireless charging standards on the upcoming smartphone. Industry sources revealed the information regarding the support to ChargerLab.

The support for Qi2 wireless charging standard means that the phone will support 15W wireless charging on non-Magsafe chargers. IPhone 14 series smartphones only support 7.5W wireless charging on non-Magsafe chargers.

The previous limitation on wireless charging speed is similar to the restriction of non-MFi-certified products. MFi is a certification introduced by Apple where manufacturers are required to obtain a license to manufacture accessories for Apple.

iPhone 15

The introduction of support for the Qi2 standard will bring down the cost of wireless chargers to one-third of Magsafe chargers. The wireless charging manufacturers wouldn’t be required to obtain MFi certification, which will help them to keep the costs low.

The Qi2 standard already supports wireless charging in iPhones. An official announcement from Apple is required to know the exact charging speed of Qi2 wireless chargers. Recently, a report revealed that Apple would upgrade the primary rear camera sensor on the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus smartphones.

Apple used a 12MP sensor with the vanilla models since the launch of the iPhone 6S. The upcoming vanilla models will feature a 48MP sensor introduced with iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

iPhone 15

The upcoming smartphones would also be eligible for 48MP ProRAW mode. The devices are also tipped to feature a three-stacked sensor to improve image quality. A report has revealed that the vanilla models won’t feature support for 120Hz ProMotion display.

However, Apple will ditch the traditional notch with a Dynamic Island seen on the iPhone 14 Pro series smartphones. The display panel of the vanilla 15 was leaked recently, revealing the Dynamic Island.

The upcoming iPhones would be the first to sport a USB Type-C port instead of the traditional lightning port. Apple is expected to announce iOS 17 at the WWDC 2023, scheduled for June 5. The upcoming iOS 17 is expected to bring many new features to iPhones.

iPhone 15

Another report revealed that Tata Group would also manufacture the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models in India. The company recently acquired Wistron’s factory, which is planning to exit from the Indian market.

iPhone 15 to Support 15W Wireless Fast Charging Using Third-Party Chargers That Aren’t MagSafe Certified

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 models will support 15W wireless fast charging even when using third-party chargers that are not MagSafe certified, claims a new rumor coming out of China.

iPhone 15

Apple’s official MagSafe magnetic wireless charger or a third-party magnetic charger with official MFM (Made for MagSafe) certification are required to achieve 15W wireless fast charging on the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14. If using a standard Qi-certified wireless charger, these models top out at 7.5W.

However, according to a Weibo post picked up by news aggregator account “yeux1122” on the Korean Naver blog, the iPhone 15 series will be capable of open 15W wireless magnetic charging using non-MFM certified chargers, which are usually more affordable alternatives to those with Apple certification.

The rumor has not yet been verified as coming from a reliable source, but the claim does make sense given that Apple is contributing to a new version of the Qi open standard that works much like MagSafe.

iPhone 15

Announced in January 2023 by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), the next-generation Qi2 wireless standard incorporates a Magnetic Power Profile, which means that devices that adopt Qi2 in the future will use the same magnetic technology used in ‌MagSafe‌ devices created for the iPhone 12 and later.

The WPC says that the Magnetic Power Profile in Qi2 will make sure that phones and other battery-powered mobile products are perfectly aligned with chargers for improved energy efficiency and faster charging‌.

Qi2 smartphones and chargers are expected to be available starting in the 2023 holiday season.

Apple’s decision to make MagSafe technology available to all devices that support Qi2 wireless charging would seem in direct contrast to its position on USB-C.

iPhone 15

The iPhone 15 is expected to feature a USB-C port instead of Lightning, which will allow it to comply with new regulations implemented in Europe.

But according to rumors, iPhone 15 models will only officially support USB-C accessories certified by the Apple Made for iPhone (MFi) program, which could be used to limit features like fast charging and high-speed data transfers to Apple-approved accessories.
Apple’s iPhone 15 series is expected to be announced during the usual September timeframe.

Faqs

1) Rumor: Apple’s Upcoming iPhone 15 to Support 15W Fast Charging With Non MagSafe Wireless Chargers.Details?

Ans) A new rumor claims Apple will allow its iPhone 15 lineup to support 15W fast charging with non-MagSafe wireless chargers. Currently, only Apple-approved wireless chargers can support 15W fast charging, while Qi chargers have been limited to a maximum of 7.5W.

Apple’s MagSafe charging system has been capable of 15W wireless charging ever since it first debuted alongside the iPhone 12 lineup. To enable fast charging, Apple requires users to use its own power adapter or a compatible third-party USB-C power adapter that supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD).”

Now comes a rumor from leaker “yeux1122” saying that the company is dropping its requirement for those “comparable” adapters to be approved by Apple.

“The Apple iPhone 15 series is said to be capable of open 15W wireless fast charging even if it is not a certified wireless charger,” writes the leaker in a blog post. The post includes a screenshot showing the news in Chinese. A machine translation says the Chinese source says the news comes from “charging head network,” presumably the manufacturing supply chain.

If the rumor is correct, the change may be related to the Qi2 charging standard. (A photo on the post page shows a small photo of a Qi2 wireless charging pad.) Also, in January, the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) announced that its next-generation Qi charging technology will incorporate Apple’s MagSafe magnetic charging functionality.

Qi2 is a new unified wireless charging standard that incorporates a Magnetic Power Profile, which means that devices that adopt Qi2 in the future will use the same ‌MagSafe‌ magnetic technology that is available in ‌Apple’s MagSafe‌ devices, such as the iPhone 12 and later.

The WPC says that the Magnetic Power Profile in Qi2 will make sure that phones and other battery-powered mobile products are perfectly aligned with charging devices providing energy efficiency and faster charging. Qi2 will allow for new accessories that would not be chargeable using existing flat surface-to-flat surface devices.

Qi2 will enable faster charging for some devices. It will also pave the way for significant future increases in wireless charging speeds that are safe, and energy-efficient and won’t shorten battery life or damage a user’s phone.

The Qi2 standard will debut later this year, and it will replace the current Qi standard. Qi2 smartphones and chargers are expected to debut during the 2023 holiday season.

Wireless charger makers (and perhaps consumers) will benefit financially from getting Qi2 certification rather than a MagSafe certification through Apple’s MFi (Made for iPhone) program. That’s because the required hardware for MFi certification runs about $16 per charger.

2) Apple iPhone 15 May Support 15W Wireless Fast Charging Without MagSafe: Report

Ans) Apple is reportedly preparing for the release of its highly anticipated iPhone 15 series in September 2023. Recent rumors originating from China suggest that the upcoming iPhone 15 models will offer support for 15W wireless fast charging, eliminating the need for MagSafe-certified chargers.

This means that users will be able to achieve faster wireless charging speeds using third-party chargers that lack official MagSafe certification. According to MacRumors, vurrently, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14 models can only achieve 15W wireless fast charging with Apple’s official MagSafe charger or third-party chargers carrying the official MFM (Made for MagSafe) certification.

When using standard Qi-certified wireless chargers, these models are limited to a maximum charging speed of 7.5W. The rumor suggests that the iPhone 15 series will be capable of reaching 15W wireless magnetic charging using non-MFM certified chargers, which are typically more affordable alternatives to those with Apple’s official certification.

Although the rumor’s source has not been verified, the claim aligns with Apple’s involvement in the development of the next-generation Qi2 wireless standard, the report said.

The Qi2 wireless standard, announced by the Wireless Power Consortium in January 2023, incorporates a Magnetic Power Profile similar to MagSafe. This new standard ensures better alignment between devices and chargers, leading to improved energy efficiency and faster charging speeds. Qi2 smartphones and chargers are expected to be available starting from the 2023 holiday season.

Apple’s potential decision to extend MagSafe-like functionality to all devices supporting Qi2 wireless charging appears to be in contrast to its stance on USB-C.

The iPhone 15 is said to feature a USB-C port, aligning with new regulations in Europe. However, these details have yet to be confirmed officially, MacRumors reported.

Meanwhile, Apple is gearing up to unveil iOS 17 at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference, starting with the keynote event on June 5, 2023. One of the notable features expected in iOS 17 is an updated Lock Screen interface that transforms the iPhone into a “smart-home display.”

1) JioCinema Breaks World Record With 3.2 Crore Concurrent Views During IPL 2023 Final.Details?

Ans) IPL 2023 coverage on Jiocinema continues to break records, the digital streaming broadcasters of the league drew a world record of 3.2 crore viewers during the summit clash between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans on Sunday, May 29.

JioCinema had earlier broken the world record previously set by Hotstar which was set at 25.3 million during July 2019 which was unchallenged for many years before the IPL 2023 broadcast on Jiocinema saw the world record being broken multiple times.
The IPL 2023 final between CSK and GT drew the most concurrent views to a live-streamed event on Monday. When Sai Sudharsan was batting at 96, the viewership peaked at 32 million concurrent viewers.

Earlier, Jiocinema had won the rights for IPL’s digital rights for a five-year deal until 2027 which proved to be a game-changing event for the broadcasters.

Their streaming strategy, providing free streaming to the entire IPL 2023 tournament saw the world record for viewership being broken at multiple stages during the season. One thing which remained common though was Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni.

Most of the matches which drew record viewership featured Dhoni’s forces before the summit clash itself saw a new bar being set at 3.2 crore.

The IPL 2023 final saw Gujarat Titans and Dhoni break records on the field as well. GT posted the highest-ever total in the history of IPL finals as they recorded 214/4.
Dhoni meanwhile became the first-ever player with 250 IPL appearances, reaching the massive milestone in the final, whereas, when he stumped Shubman Gill, he also reached 300 stumpings while dismissing the GT opener from behind the stumps.

Riding on Sai’s 96-run knock, GT reached the highest total in IPL finals history after Wriddhiman Saha set the stage for his side. Saha smashed a fifty, scoring 54 in 39 balls, while Gill added 39 in 20.

Skipper Pandya smashed 21 in 12 balls to put the finishing touches, while CSK began their chase of 215 and were batting at 4/0 after 0.3 overs when the rain gods decided to interfere.

2) IPL 2023 Final: JioCinema sets another record with 3.2 crore viewers in GT vs CSK clash.Details?

Ans) JioCinema, the streaming platform which has been showcasing all the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches of this edition for free, registered yet another record high concurrent viewership of 3.2 crore during the tournament’s final match between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings on May 29.

The number of concurrent viewers breached the 3.2 crore-mark during the last phase of GT’s innings. The team, while batting first, hammered CSK’s bowlers in the death overs to post a mammoth total of 214/4. At the time of writing this report, the Chennai side was at four for no loss in 0.3 overs, with the match being delayed due to rains.

JioCinema had, last week, broken all records by becoming the first streaming platform in the world to draw 2.5 crore concurrent viewers. The massive viewership was recorded during the playoff match between GT and CSK on May 24. The MS Dhoni-led side had won the game by 16 runs.

The digital platform of Reliance Jio again clocked a concurrent viewership of 2.5 crore on May 26, during the eliminator played between the Gujarat side and Mumbai Indians.

3) IPL 2023 LIVE Streaming on JioCinema breaks WORLD RECORD, CSK vs GT IPL 2023 Final clocks 3 Cr concurrent viewers.Details?

Ans) JioCinema has created a new world record with IPL 2023 LIVE Streaming for GT vs CSK match. The IPL 2023 Final has now the most concurrent viewers in a sporting event with over 3 Crore fans streaming the match simultaneously. It was during the final over of the 1st innings when Sai Sudharsan took Gujarat Titans past 200.

The previous record was 2.4 Crore concurrent viewers during CSK vs RCB match on April 17. One of the reasons behind the record-breaking spree is that IPL 2023 LIVE Streaming is free on JioCinema.

Furthermore, fans were intrigued by what MS Dhoni had to say. Dhoni was playing his last match of IPL 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, his adopted home. However, Dhoni did not disappoint fans, he vowed to remain with CSK and dismissed any rumours of retirement. He said that he would take a call in December.

As for JioCinema, on IPL debut, it has record-breaking performances throughout. JioCinema already crossed 1300 crore in total video views on the platform. It is also a new world record.

The streaming app has been adding millions of new viewers for IPL on a daily basis. The average streaming time per match per viewer has already zoomed past 60 minutes.
In terms of sponsorships and advertisers, JioCinema has roped in 26 marquee sponsors, the highest ever for any sporting event.

Xiaomi has extended warranty of these phones in India by two years: Check list of devices

Xiaomi Warranty Extension

HIGHLIGHTS

* Xiaomi India extends the warranty of Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Mi 11 Ultra and POCO X3 Pro.
* The primary reason for extending the warranty is because there are multiple complaints of issues such as motherboard failure and camera malfunctions.
* Phones that are rooted, liquid damage, tampering, or cases with physical damage will not be eligible for extended support.

Smartphones typically come with a defined warranty period, usually lasting 1-2 years, during which repairs for both hardware and software issues are covered at no extra cost.

Some brands offer the option to purchase extended warranties for their devices, but it is rare to find a company that provides extended warranties for free.

Xiaomi has chosen to be the exception by announcing a two-year warranty extension for select phones in India. But there are VERY specific conditions for you to avail of this.

Here are the devices getting this extension and the reason behind it

Xiaomi Warranty Extension

Xiaomi quietly announced on Discord (you read that right) that select older phones will have an extended warranty of two years. These devices are the Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Mi 11 Ultra, and Poco X3 Pro.

But we hate to break it to you that not all units will get the extension. If you’re currently experiencing a selfie camera issue or a motherboard failure, then only Xiaomi will take care of it under warranty. The company is being very specific with the extension.

This decision was publicly announced during a fans’ meet organized by Xiaomi India’s feedback team. Senior executives, including Murlikrishnan B (President of Xiaomi India), Anuj Sharma (Chief Marketing Officer), and Alvin Tse (Vice President of Xiaomi Global), attended the event.

The meet took place on the Xiaomi Insiders Discord server, providing users with an opportunity to share their feedback on Xiaomi devices.

Xiaomi Warranty Extension

Xiaomi may have identified some potential issues with certain phones and parts and is now working to address these issues.

Xiaomi has extended the warranty for five of its smartphones in India, as announced by the brand through its official Discord channel (via). This extension is valid on Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Mi 11 Ultra and POCO X3 Pro.

The primary reason for extending the warranty is because there are multiple complaints of issues such as motherboard failure and camera malfunctions. The warranty extension is expected to offer some relief to the users of these phones and address their concerns.

Free Xiaomi Warranty Extension: How to Avail

Xiaomi Warranty Extension

* For any customer who has purchased any of the aforementioned devices within the last two years and is facing difficulties related to cameras or motherboards, Xiaomi will bear the responsibility to address and rectify these issues in accordance with the warranty.

* Customers must provide the purchase invoice of the phone at the nearest Xiaomi service centre.

* The company will offer repairs or replacements at no extra cost. This is, however, unless the company deems the issues to be beyond the warranty coverage.

* Customers need to note that rooted phones, liquid damage, tampering, or cases with physical damage will not be eligible for extended support.

As a part of the extended warranty, Xiaomi will address two specific issues such as System UI being unresponsiveness and the front camera malfunction on the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Note 10 Pro Max. As for the POCO X3 Pro, Xiaomi will specifically address the power-on issue.

Since the official confirmation is made through Xiaomi India’s Discord channel, the brand may soon release an official statement on its social media handles like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Faqs on Xiaomi Warranty Extension

1) Xiaomi Extended Warranty to 2 years For These phones, Check Your Device. Details?

Ans) Xiaomi – What Went Wrong?
There was a time when Xiaomi was India’s No. 1 brand, at that time everyone used to recommend Xiaomi’s phone without thinking and the reason behind it is trust and specifications at affordable price.
But right now Xiaomi India lost their position from No.1 to No.3 in India and the particular reason for that is motherboard dead /hard brick / camera dead / Wi-Fi issues etc. after updating to their phones to latest MIUI software. This all starts with Xiaomi’s own sub-branded POCO X3 Pro.

Majority of the Xiaomi phones are now getting dead every random day and some got repaired from service center but most of them didn’t get repaired as the service center guys ask for money even if your phone is under warranty.

This issue is getting worse day by day and people are shifting to other company smartphones and now the Xiaomi India decided to provide extra 1 year warranty for selected devices which you can check from below.
Xiaomi Extended Warranty for these phones
Xiaomi India has extended warranty to 2 years for these selected phones which are very popular phone in the market. You can check the name of these phones.

* Redmi Note 10
* Redmi Note 10 Pro
* Redmi Note 10 Pro Max
* POCO X3 Pro
* Mi 11 Ultra

Along with that Xiaomi India released a new statement which describes everything about the extended warranty for selected phones.

What are the Conditions to Claim Warranty?

Don’t think that you will get this extra 1 year warranty directly from Xiaomi as it requires certain conditions to get this extra warranty of 1 year for these phones. You will get extra 1 year warranty

Redmi Note 10 Series
* have system UI not responding issue
* have front camera not working issue

POCO X3 Pro
* have power on Fault
Mi 11 Ultra
* Not mentioned but it should have Wi-Fi and motherboard issue

Note: This extra warranty applies from the date of activation/warranty start date as per validation in XMS.

2) Xiaomi extends warranty to two years for five phones; read details?

Ans) Xiaomi has extended the warranty of five smartphones in India. The announcement has come through the company’s official Discord channel. The extension covers the following models: Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Mi 11 Ultra, and Poco X3 Pro.

As it is known, users of these smartphones encounter a range of issues, including motherboard failure and camera malfunctions. The anticipated warranty extension is expected to provide relief to these individuals, addressing their concerns.

Xiaomi extends the warranty of select phones

If customers in India have purchased any of the aforementioned devices within the last two years and are presently facing difficulties related to the selfie camera or motherboard, Xiaomi bears the responsibility to address and rectify these issues in accordance with the warranty.

To take advantage of the extended warranty, customers must provide the purchase invoice of their phone at the nearest Xiaomi service centre. Repairs or replacements will be offered at no cost within the scope of the extended warranty unless the company deems the issues to be beyond the coverage. It is important to note that rooted phones, liquid damage, tampering, or cases with physical damage will not be eligible for extended support.

The extension of warranty coverage highlights its restricted scope, suggesting that Xiaomi has recognized potential issues related to these particular phones and components. Specifically, the company will primarily focus on addressing two specific issues: System UI unresponsiveness and front camera malfunction on the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Note 10 Pro Max. For the Poco X3 Pro, Xiaomi will specifically address the power-on fault.

While the warranty extension announcement has only come through Xiaomi India’s Discord, it appears that the company may soon release an official confirmation on it through its social media channels like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, apart from its official website, for a wider reach.
