Nothing Ear (Stick): The best earplugs under ₹10,000?

0
Nothing Ear (Stick)

Nothing is back with the latest Nothing Ear (Stick) but are they really worth it? Read along!

People are definitely intrigued by Nothing, a new tech-firm that makes headphones and telephones, and they want to buy them. The new wireless earphones from Nothing are called the Nothing Ear Stick. They are the third product that Nothing has produced. The new earbuds follow the straightforward design aesthetic that has been synonymous with the brand but this time around, the Nothing has made some significant adjustments.

From the exterior, the new Nothing Ear Stick has a beautiful looking design. It is more true to state that the earphones’ casing has been updated rather than the earbuds themselves. The housing for the Ear Stick is designed to resemble a tube of lipstick. Turning the bottom of the tube while maintaining the position of the top allows access to the earphones. Turning the lid in any direction allows the case to be opened and closed. However, there is a risk of contamination if the enclosure is not sealed fully.

The bottom of the case is made of clear plastic and has a red plastic module that carries the USB-C charging port. The top of the case is made of black plastic and has a transparent plastic cover. It’s close to a silver button that sticks out from the main body of the casing. Because of this change, you can now use the earbuds with your phone.

The fact that the shell is made of tubes means that it can stand on its own. When the container is kept on its side, there is a significantly greater chance that it will roll away.

For example, the Ear 1 case holds less than the other cases but is bigger overall and sticks out of your pocket more. This seems like something that would make travelling a lot less fun.

The new Ear Stick device has taken the place of the old Nothing Ear 1. The Ear 1 has a more traditional design and fits in the ear. The Ear Stick, on the other hand, used to have a design that only fit partially in the ear, like the AirPods. This means that they are outside of your ear canal instead of inside it. This doesn’t make much sense, especially when you think about how competitive things are today. We noticed that the design of the earbuds, which only covers half of the ear canal, made them uncomfortable to use when working out or jogging because they moved around too much in the ear canal.

Nothing Ear (Stick)

You can skip songs, turn up or down the volume, and call up your phone’s voice assistant by touching the touch sensor on the left and right earphones.

Turning on Bluetooth mode on your phone makes it easy to pair the new Nothing Ear Stick with your device as it comes with the SBC and AAC codecs. You can get to the earphones by pressing the device’s silver power button and by downloading the Nothing X app from the Play Store, you can improve the quality of your connection and how it works.

Nothing has also released a new version of the Nothing X app, which has undergone some cosmetic changes and now boasts a significantly expanded set of functionality. You can check how much power is still available in both the shell and the earphones by looking at the main screen. There are other choices available for the mode and controls of the equaliser. The equaliser on the Ear Stick comes with four different presets and a three-band bespoke EQ of its own. Keep in mind that there is no option to entirely disable the EQ, you will need to choose one of the available settings.

It seems illogical to switch to half-in-ear headphones after having used in-ear headphones for some time. The sound that is produced by the Ear Stick’s fundamental frequency is very crisp and resonant. It’s possible that the overall tone may come across as high and thin in tone at times since there isn’t enough bottom end. The amount of bass is also ordinary since it did not really stand out.

The sound quality of phone conversations is satisfactory since the new Nothing Ear Stick is equipped with a good microphone. It may be difficult for the earbuds to maintain voice clarity in busy environments, such as standing next to traffic.

Nothing Claims that Nothing Ear Stick is capable of continuously playing music for a period of seven hours. When we put it to test, a single charge allowed us to make use of it for between five and six hours. In addition, they also claim that a ten-minute charge can allow for two hours of gameplay. We found it to be accurate when we listened to music via the earbuds for around two hours while doing the test.

The Nothing Ear Stick has not been modified in any way, with the exception of the casing, which can now be opened and closed by spinning it. When compared to the designs offered by the other companies on the market, the half-in-ear style seems antiquated and dated. Despite the fact that there are fashionable earphones available to buy, you should wait for a better version to come out in the market.

Twitter Blue Will Relaunch With Gold, Grey, Blue Checkmarks

Twitter business accounts

The adventures at Twitter are far from seeing an end with new rules cropping up every day, sometimes twice on the same day. Just days after suspending the “Twitter Blue” service, the richest man in the world Elon Musk has now announced that Twitter will again be relaunching the “Twitter Blue” service on Friday, December 2, 2022 with some modifications.

Twitter Chief, while replying to a tweet revealed that the updated Twitter Blue service is going to feature many unique checkmarks specifically for different units.

Elon Musk, while replying to a question about why the user couldn’t verify their account, said, “Sorry for the delay, we’re tentatively launching Verified on Friday next week. Gold check for companies, grey check for government, blue for individuals (celebrity or not) and all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before the check activates. Painful, but necessary.” The response came to the previously posed question by the user on a thread where Musk had suggested $8 for account verification, and asked, “Elon, I’m trying. It won’t let me and I’m Verified (need to edit 1 character I can’t spell).”

What is Twitter Blue with Gold, Grey, Blue checkmarks?

Twitter Blue

The Twitter verification system is all set to go through another set of changes to make it all more streamlined. The previous Blue Checkmark of verified Twitter accounts will now be divided into three colours that include Gold, Gray, and Blue. As per details revealed by the Twitter Chief himself, going forward, the gold colour checkmark will be for organisations, the grey colour checkmark for government, and the blue colour checkmark will be for individuals (celebrity or otherwise).

Elon also specified that according to new rules and settings, all verified accounts will have to be authenticated manually before the check can be activated on user profiles.

Those Twitter users who wish to get a Checkmark and subscribe to the Twitter Blue privileges will have to pay a monthly fee of $7.99. Previously, the verified accounts as well as the blue Twitter checkmark were free for notable personalities such as politicians, famous personalities, journalists, and other public figures. Users can simply go to their Profile section on the Twitter app or the web app and Tap on Twitter Blue to pay for the subscription fee and complete the account verification process.

In Brief

We have only a few days left before 2022 becomes history and the year has been one of the best in the past decade where all the leading tech giants have rolled out excellent devices that have been quite well received.

Apple launched the iPhone 14 series in September 2022, while Google came out with the Pixel 7 series in the following month, and while the design for both was criticized as monotonous, both series of smartphones did receive very good reviews.

Xiaomi will soon be coming out with the new flagship model for the company through the Redmi K60 series, although the rumours are yet to be confirmed, while Xiaomi 13 series too will see light of the day in China sooner than expected.

Redmi K60 series include Redmi K60, Redmi K60 Pro, and Redmi K60E, which have been in the pipeline for quite some time now as Redmi users cannot wait to try it out for themselves, which is why their anxiety to gain more information on them is increasing day by day.

Whenever any device is expected to come out in the near future, makers always drop subtle hints surrounding them so that users will get an idea on what to expect from the upcoming models.

However, many times it happens that a device is subjected to online leaks in the form of an image or details regarding its colour, specifications, brand name, etc. so that users are notified beforehand that a device will be coming out soon as they’re clever enough to put two and two together and decipher what’s in store.

WhatsApp Data Breach Threats 500 Million Users Worldwide

0
WhatsApp Data

If you are a WhatsApp user, this new report should rightly alarm you. According to the latest Cybernews report, mobile numbers of approximately 500 million WhatsApp users across the globe have been put on sale in an incident of a massive data breach.

The report says that according to an ad posted on the hacking community forum, they are selling a large database of 487 million WhatsApp user mobile numbers from 2022 in the community. The database of mobile numbers includes users from more than 80 different nations such as the US, the UK, Italy, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia among others. The list of nations also includes India.

The mobile numbers leaked in such a data breach are generally used for phishing attacks on a large scale. Many industry experts have warned WhatsApp users across borders to be extra cautious while answering messages and calls from any numbers that are hard to recognise.

As per the Cybernews report, the seller actor has claimed during the online illegal sale of mobile numbers that the leaked database includes at least 32 million US user records. The actor has also claimed that the database includes around 45 million users from Egypt, 29 million users from Saudi Arabia, 11 million users from the UK, 35 million users from Italy, 20 million users from France, 10 million users from Russia and 20 million users from Turkey among others.

WhatsApp Data

Several media reports have claimed that the data is being sold at a heavy rate.  The report reveals, “threat actor is selling the US dataset for $7,000 (approx. ₹5,71,690). While the cost for the UK and Germany datasets is $2,500 (approx. ₹2,04,175) and $2,000 (approx. ₹1,63,340), respectively.”

It must be noted that there has been any official word yet on whether the data is genuine and the entire Cybernews story is based on the claim made in the hacking community. This is also not the first time a Meta owned platform is facing massive data breach allegations. A similar incident was reported last year as well when information from over 500 million Facebook users was offered online at no cost.

PS6: Sony Reveals The Release Date of the PlayStation 6

PlayStation 6

If you were specifically waiting for PlayStation 6 then we suggest you take the armchair and relax for a while. It appears the next generation PlayStation might not be released before 2027. Yes, you read that right – 2027 it is! According to a recently released and now partially redacted document from Sony, the company has scheduled the official release of the PlayStation to be after 2027, which is almost five years away. Although Consoles usually have a longer lifespan, many users were quick to express their surprise about the 7-year lifecycle of PlayStation 5, which had a 2020 release.

The document was made public as a part of the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority investigation regarding the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. PlayStation Lifestyle was the online portal to first carry the document and catch the PlayStation 6 release timeline. The document also revealed the release window of the next Xbox Console, which it seems is also almost 7 years away.

Sony has already expressed grave concerns about Microsoft’s acquisition bid to take over Activision Blizzard. The company is particularly concerned because Call of Duty is most likely to become an Xbox exclusive in the near future. It has repeatedly claimed that the Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard “will harm competition, industry players, and users.”

According to an international gaming magazine, CMA has also expressed its concerns about Microsoft owing Call of Duty once the acquisition deal is complete. As a response to the concerns voiced by different stakeholders in the industry, Microsoft and Activision said that they “do not dispute that some portion of gamers are likely to re-assess their console ownership at the start of a new generation.
