Lava Agni 2 5G – Unboxing

Lava Agni 2 5G Review
Lava Agni 2 5G Unboxing

Lava Agni 2 comes in a stylish side-flap black colour retail box.
At first glance, the retail box looks a bit longer than usual smartphone retail packages and it is also a bit heavier than usual.
But before we get to the in-the-box contents, the packaging itself has a lot to talk about.

Being the first home-grown smartphone brand to launch the first Indian 5G smartphones back in 2021, Lava must be appreciated for always pushing the boundaries for the Indian smartphone industry.
And looking at the retail box of Lava Agni 2, it becomes evident that Lava as a brand is equally proud of its achievements.

The retail box on the side mentions #ProudlyIndian making it immediately clear why Agni 2 should be considered special.
If that was not enough, Lava has also added an entire paragraph of text on the top of the box, explaining how this new device is “India’s own firepower.”

The retail box also mentions Agni 2 as “The Best Indian Smartphone.”

Now, let’s move on to the box contents.

What’s in the Lava Agni 2 5G Box?

Lava Agni 2 5G Review
Lava Agni 2 5G Rear View

As you open the side flap of the box, you are immediately greeted with the Agni 2 smartphone itself, wrapped in a plastic cover and neatly tucked in a deep orange plastic tray.
Keeping the smartphone on the side for a moment, we move on to the contents by removing the plastic tray.

Next, we find a card that details one of Lava’s most impressive after-sales policies. With Lava Agni 2, the brand is offering Free Phone Replacement at home, applicable during the 1 year warranty period.

This, as per Lava’s claim, is the first time in the segment we will have a handset replacement at the home offer with a smartphone. The card has all the details about the offer and how to avail it.

Then, we also get a soft plastic case inside the box along with the SIM ejector tool.

Lava Agni 2 also comes with a 66-watt Type-C output power adapter, a USB Type-C to Type-C cable, and a 3.5mm headphone adapter since the device doesn’t have a headphone jack.

With all this, Lava has pretty much packed everything inside the box. Moving on to the smartphone itself, let’s get to the design department.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Design

Lava Agni 2 5G Review
Lava Agni 2 5G Rear Design
  • The phone weighs 210 grams
  • It has support for two nano-SIMs but no slot for a memory card

The first thing that caught our attention was the design of this super smartphone. The build quality of the phone is superior and it comes in a proper glass sandwich design with a curved glass on the rear and curved glass on the front that blends into a slim plastic frame in between.

What Lava calls the design is the 3D Curved Back and this 3D curved back has a circular camera module with the four cameras symmetrically placed at the top four corners.

This circular camera module does jet out from the rear but thankfully it doesn’t cause too much of a table wobble.

The glass back has a frosted matte finish and therefore the in-hand feel is actually good. Having said that, some of our team members did feel that the phone is a bit slippery, although that immediate feeling could entirely go away as you get used to holding the phone on a regular basis.

One issue is the 200+ gram weight of the device, which is distributed slightly unevenly and therefore the phone feels slightly top heavy as a result. But honestly, this should not be too much of a concern in daily usage.

Lava Agni 2 5G Review
Lava Agni 2 5G Display

As for the posts and buttons, you get the Power Button and a Volume Rocker on the right edge and a Type-C 2.0 port, a single speaker grille and a SIM card tray single at the bottom.

So, Lava got rid of the headphone jack in this smartphone. We honestly aren’t too thrilled about it even though a headphone jack audio adapter has been bundled in the retail box for users who still preferred the wired sound systems.

So the Lava Agni 2 is available only in one colour option, it’s called Viridian Green Colour. This is actually a beautiful shade of green, which looks very close to Olive.
The colour also has a nice sheen to it that gives off superior-quality vibes.

Actually, the entire time that we have had the phone in our hands, it did feel extremely premium. So, all in all, the Lava Agni 2 is quite a step up from its predecessor when it comes to the overall design composition.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Display and Sound

Lava Agni 2 5G Review
Lava Agni 2
  • The display refreshes at 120Hz
  • It supports the Widevine L1 certificate

The design premium-ness of Lava Agni 2 is further enhanced by the fact that you get a curved display on the front as well. This is a large 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 120hz Refresh Rate and Short Sensation Alpha Protection on the front.

Now by default, the refresh rate is set at a dynamic switch of 120 hertz, which means that it will switch between 120 and 60 depending on the content that’s playing on the screen.

However, you can also set it to an always high refresh rate of 120 hertz as well.

The display also supports HDR 10 Plus. We noticed that HDR support is available on YouTube only and not on Netflix. As per Lava, Netflix support is also coming soon via software updates.

In our testing, we loved the fact that the display is pretty vibrant and fairly bright as well.
You get 500 nits of peak brightness when you’re using the display indoors and when you take it outdoors, it can touch a peak brightness of 915 nits which is the same for when you’re watching HDR content as well.

However, while watching HDR videos, I noticed that the algorithm sort of over-sharpens the YouTube HDR videos.

Although, it is pretty clear that most people who end up watching content on the Lava Agni 2 will actually like the way it looks because it looks vibrant, rich and colourful.

One concern that needs to be addressed is that during testing the phone or while we were using the camera app, sometimes the shutter button wasn’t clicking or the record button wasn’t sharply responding.
This, we are assuming, is primarily because the mistouch prevention algorithm is not that good.

Lava Agni 2 5G Review
Lava Agni 2 5G Home Screen

But both the problems that we have highlighted whether it is the HDR over sharpening algorithm or the mistouch prevention issues, both can be fixed with the software update.

So, hopefully, Lava can quickly work on that too.

So, speaking of display and HDR streaming, another complaint is with the single speakers used in this one. The single speaker is of course not an ideal feature in a phone of this calibre.
A stereo speaker would have been any day better. Having said that, it does sound rich and lush during our streaming tests, if not too loud.

Nevertheless, thanks to the tiny bezels around the display you get great screen estate and the tiny punch hole in the centre that gives a premium screen experience.

Also part of the display is an in-display fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint scanner can unlock the phone in 0.24 seconds and is placed slightly low but we really don’t see why that should create any issue for any user.

The other good thing is the X-axis Linear Motor. The haptic feedback is very good and Lava deserves appreciated for trying to give users a premium experience in all aspects.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Performance

Lava Agni 2 5G Review
Lava Agni 2 5G Performance
  • It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor
  • The phone comes in a single 8GB RAM and 256GB storage

Out of all the good things we have to say about Agni 2, the superior software experience you get with this phone definitely ranks at the top.
You get the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 Processor, which is basically a slightly better version of the Dimensity 1080.

The phone also comes by default with 8GB of RAM along with the usual virtual RAM on top of it and 256 GB of internal storage as well. What you need to note is that this is the base and the only variant available for Lava Agni 2.

Coming back to the chipset. What is important to note is that it is one of the most powerful chips that you can find in this price category.

To test this, we perform some of the standard tests on the device and the results easily corroborated the fact.

The AnTuTu scores (which you can see below on your screen) came out above 5 lakhs. And the Geekbench scores (check out the screenshots below) were also extremely encouraging.

Another great aspect of using the phone is that it doesn’t throttle too much. In the CPU throttle test, we got a stability of over 80 per cent and 3D Mark Wildlife test, we got a stability of over 99 per cent.

The phone comes with Android 13 right out of the box. It’s almost the stock Android experience with a few lava embellishments on top of it. Also, Lava has decided to go bloatware free with the Lava Agni 2 and we couldn’t be happier even if we wanted.

Not getting dozens of stupid apps pre-installed is a dream that all mid-range devices should now seriously try to fulfil. There is no point in stuffing the device with unwanted apps that we all know no one actually uses.

To add to the positives, Lava also promises assured upgrades to Android 14 and 15 on the Agni 2 and quarterly security updates as well.

Lava Agni 2 5G Review
Lava Agni 2 5G Rear Design

The phone also supports 13 5G bands which include n77 and n78. So, there should be absolutely no problem with connecting to Jio 5G Network or Airtel 5G Network, the two top 5G service providers in India at the moment.

We also downloaded the Call of Duty mobile and you can play the game with high graphics with very high frame rates and low graphics with max frame rates.

All in all, the gaming performance is good.
The device doesn’t heat up and it doesn’t throttle. It definitely is a good mid-range phone and after using the phone for a couple of days, we have only noticed overall stable performance in all aspects.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Camera

Lava Agni 2 5G Review
The device has a quad-camera setup with a 50MP primary shooter
  • The Agni 2 features a 50-megapixel primary camera
  • It can record videos up to 4K 30fps
  • 50MP main camera with 1/1.55″ sensor, f/1.88 aperture, 1um pixel size
  • 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture
  • 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture
  • 2MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture
  • 16MP front camera with f/2.5 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size

So, let’s talk about the camera.

You get a 50-megapixel Primary Camera which is an OmniVision Sensor along with an 8-megapixel Ultra Wide. Further, there are a couple of 2-megapixel cameras, which are basically macro and depth sensors. On the front, you get a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.

In our first testing routine, we tried the camera and the results were definitely leaning towards the positive side. For your reference, here are some sample shots taken by the camera at different times throughout the day.

The primary camera shoots fairly sharp pixel bend images but we also noticed slightly boosted colours. Also, the HDR processing could have been slightly better too. However, the skin tones are nice and pleasing when shooting people.

The Portrait Mode is not too shabby at Edge detection and creates a nice-looking bokeh. Having said that, there is a difference in skin tone colour that we noticed when shooting in Portraits Mode and even in regular pictures.

Low-light shots, however, are not that impressive. The night mode algorithm does very little to accentuate details from the shadows and the Ultra Wide angle colour sense consistency is also off.

Another strange aspect is not getting the option for HDR with the Ultra Wide or the selfie camera.
Talking about the selfie camera, which seems decent on paper but in practical tests, we figured the result shots were good when taken in daylight but the camera was clearly struggling in low-light conditions.

Before we move on to the video shooting features, here’s a quick video shot with the camera to give you all a fair idea of the video shooting capabilities.

You can shoot 4K 30 FPS videos using the primary camera but the EIS kicks in at 2K 30 FPS resolution. Now, this is not a usual setting and this is probably the first time we have encountered a phone with this specific recording resolution.
You can shoot 1080p 30fps videos using the front camera albeit without electronic image stabilization. However, what we could understand is why you cannot shoot videos with the Ultra Wide angle camera.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Battery

Lava Agni 2 5G
Although the battery capacity is smaller than the competition, it can easily last for a day
  • It packs a 4700mAh battery
  • The phone includes a 66W charger in the box.

Now as for the battery, you get a 4700mAh battery integrated into this phone. Although it’s not the typical 5000mAh battery, it does its job and solves the purpose.
Now, more about the battery performance can only be said after the adaptive battery gets enough time to tune itself.

You also get a 66-watt fast charger bundled with the phone and this charger is capable of taking your phone from 0 to 100 per cent battery sign in just about 35 to 40 minutes.

Now, this is great as we can even call it class-leading.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Price and Availability

Lava Agni 2 5G

Lava Agni 2 5G price in India starts from ₹21,999 for the single variant it is available in. It is available as Amazon Specials at the lowest price with the next sale scheduled to go live on Amazon India on 15th June 2023 at 12 PM.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Dual SIM and Connectivity

Lava Agni 2 5GThe Lava Agni 2 5G has dual SIMs with support for 5G in both the SIMs. The phone has the usual set of connectivity features such as 5G with support for n1/n3/n5/n7/n8/n20/n28/n38/n40/n41/n66/n77/n78 5G bands, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax (2.4 + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS + GLONASS, but it doesn’t have NFC support. We did not face any call drops and the earpiece volume is good. There are no connectivity issues on Wi-Fi or 4G / 5G.

Lava has not mentioned the exact SAR value of the phone on the site, in the box, and it is also not revealed on the phone, which just shows <1.6W/Kg that is the limit in India.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Alternatives

Agni 2

The latest realme 11 Pro 5G is a direct competitor with a similar curved AMOLED screen and the same processor, but it is costly for the 8GB + 256GB model.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Software, UI and Apps

Lava Agni 2 5GIt runs Android 13 out of the box with Android security patch for March 2023. The company has promised 2 Android updates and 3 years of security updates for the phone. You don’t get any bloatware.

The phone has 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM out of which you get 7.5GB of usable RAM, and about 3GB of RAM is free when default apps are running in the background. It has up to 8GB of RAM extension or virtual RAM, and it is set to 6GB by default, which you can disable.

The DuraSpeed feature lets you restrict apps from running in the background, but it tends to kill some important apps like music player when it’s running, so just make sure you disable it for important apps.

Out of 256GB, you get about 230GB of free storage. It has UFS 2.2 storage, and we got sequential read speeds of 981/4MB/s. Apart from the Google apps, it doesn’t have any third-party apps.

Verdict

Lava Agni 2 5G
Lava Agni 2 5G Box

So, there should be any doubt that Lava Agni 2 falls under the category of a “desirable phone.” This is the type of device that if you see on display, we are sure you will reach out and would want to know more.

It is also a good phone especially considering its price. The price of Rs 21,999 and with a special offer of Rs 19,999 is so good that it actually makes a lot of other popular smartphone brands and their series leading devices look expensive in comparison.

Let us also address the fact that we now have a truly Indian company making a phone which delivers in every aspect it promises and stands a great chance amongst its international competitors.

On top of everything positive, we have seen with Agni 2, Lava is also providing a One-Year Free Phone Replacement at Home if anything happens to it.
The promise does sounds like an overcommit, but let’s just take the brand’s word for it now.

And we just hope Lava can live up to that their words because good after-sales service is always appreciated in this category.

In conclusion, the Lava Agni 2 5G is a powerhouse of a smartphone that combines a stunning display, powerful performance, impressive cameras, ample storage, and long-lasting battery life.

With the brand promoting it with #ProudlyIndian, it also packs a sentimental angle being the truly first Indian smartphone brand.

Lava Agni 2 5G Review: Should you buy it?

Lava Agni 2 5G Review

Lava Agni 2 is one of the most anticipated smartphones from the company yet. After using the phone for a few weeks, I found that it does live up to the hype.

If you are looking for a smartphone under Rs 25000 that does most of the work well, the Lava Agni 2 is surely a decent option to consider.

I thoroughly enjoy the curved display of the Lava Agni 2 and the customization features that allow me to personalize it according to my preferences.

The performance is also decent, and the battery life and charging capabilities exceed expectations.

Additionally, the camera system works quite well. However, the issues with focus in macro photography, screen bleeding, and screen freezing did have a slight impact on my overall experience with the Agni 2.

Nevertheless, these issues did not completely detract from the phone’s appeal as a viable option in the under Rs 25,000 smartphone category. All things considered, the Lava Agni 2 offers a satisfactory camera, battery life, and overall performance.

So, if you’re looking to support a local brand and explore something new, the Lava Agni 2 is a good option within its price range.

However, if you are still interested in comparing alternatives, you can check out the Moto G82, priced at Rs 19,999, which offers impressive battery life, camera capabilities, and overall performance.

Another noteworthy option is the IQOO Z7S, which stands out as one of the top smartphones available in its price range.

Fingerprint Sensor and Face unlock

Lava Agni 2 5GThe phone has an in-display optical fingerprint sensor that immediately unlocks the phone just by keeping your finger on the sensor. There is also face unlock option.

Music Player and Multimedia

Lava Agni 2 5GYouTube Music is the default music player. It doesn’t have Dolby Atmos or any other custom audio features. Audio through the mono speaker is decent, but the company could have offered a stereo speaker option.

Audio through the headphones is good as well. The phone has Widevine L1 so that you can play HD content on Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and other streaming apps. You also get HDR playback on YouTube, but not on Netflix.

What is not so good ?

  • Can be heavy
  • Average low light and HDR performance
  • Mono-speaker setup

Nothing’s Carl Pei Replies to Memes on Phone 2 Design, Says “Just Wait and See”; Suggests Entirely New Nothing Phone (2) design through Meme Before Official Launch

HIGHLIGHTS

* The Nothing Phone (2) is launching on July 11.
* The device is confirmed to feature Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
* The recent tweet by Nothing CEO does suggest that the Nothing Phone (2) will offer a different design than Phone (1).
* Nothing founder Carl Pei responded with a message suggesting the Nothing Phone (2) design would be different from its predecessor.
* The upcoming Nothing Phone (2) will be launched on July 11th at an event in London.
* The Nothing Phone (2) will house a 4,700mAh battery. Meanwhile, its fast charging capabilities are still unknown.

If you follow tech Twitter, you’ve probably seen the memes mocking the iPhone 14 and Galaxy S23 Ultra for looking almost identical to their previous generation models.

One meme shows a guy holding a shirt in his hand while wearing the exact same one. Well, Nothing’s Phone 2 has now also become a target of these memes, but the company’s CEO doesn’t seem to agree.
He hinted that the smartphone will look different from its predecessor.

Nothing Phone (2)

Nothing is all set to launch the Nothing Phone (2) on July 11. The device will be unveiled in India on the same date.

As confirmed by Nothing, the handset will be available in India via Flipkart. Ahead of the official launch, the company has been confirming key specifications of the device.

The brand recently confirmed the processor details as well as battery capacity information.
Additionally, we even saw the renders of the device a couple of days back.

Nothing Phone (2)

Soon after the renders were leaked on the web, Nothing CEO Carl Pei took to Twitter and tweeted it as “fake”, indicating one way that leaked renders are inaccurate.

Ahead of the launch of the much-anticipated Nothing Phone (2), CEO Carl Pei has addressed memes related to the upcoming smartphone’s design.

On the microblogging site Twitter, several memes are floating, indicating that the company might not bring anything new to the table in terms of design, but Pei had something different to say about it.

Nothing Phone (2) Sports a Different Design Than Phone (1)

Nothing Phone (2)

Memes have been floating on Twitter recently, which implies that the Nothing Phone (2) will look similar to that of the Nothing Phone (1).

Seeing these memes, Nothing CEO Carl Pei has tweeted, “To everyone sending me this: just you wait and see”.

This tweet by CEO again hints that the leaked renders are incorrect and the Nothing Phone (2) will have significant changes compared to Phone (1).

The brand revealed a small teaser while revealing the Phone (2) launch date.
The teaser shown by the company showcased to us that the Phone (2) will have a slight

alteration in the alignment of the glyph interface, which the previously leaked renders also disclosed.

CEO has debunked the renders and given hints on Twitter to wait and see, we might get to see some new design changes until the Phone (2) goes official.

Nothing Phone (2) is confirmed to feature a 6.7-inch display. The phone might adopt an AMOLED panel that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC which will be paired with Adreno 740 GPU.

Nothing Phone (2): Specifications Expected

Nothing Phone (2)

The smartphone might pack up to 12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. We can expect the handset to boot Android 13 out of the box with Nothing OS 2.0 on top. A 4700mAh battery will likely be equipped with the smartphone to support fast charging.

As far as the rest of the key features go, the smartphone might boast an in-display fingerprint sensor and dual speakers. In related news, the Nothing Phone (2) was spotted on BIS certification.

The device was spotted on the certification website with model number AIN065.
Apart from BIS certification, the smartphone also has received the UAE’s TDRA certification.
The TDRA certification disclosed the marketing name of the device as Nothing Phone (2) and the model number as A065.

Carl Pei on Nothing Phone (2) design

Nothing Phone (2)

After Twitterati ridiculed the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) renders, saying it will look exactly like its predecessor, the CEO responded with a message that suggests the design of the Nothing Phone (2) would be different from the Nothing Phone (1).

Pei posted a meme with the caption, “to everyone sending me this: just you wait and see!”
Recently, renders of the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) leaked online, which indicated that the Nothing Phone (1) and Nothing Phone (2) might look identical with subtle changes. However, later the CEO called it “fake”.

Considering that the London-based smartphone brand has already shared a sneak peek of a similar design for the Nothing Phone (2), with only a few changes in the arrangement of the glyph interface on the back, it is expected that there might be no major changes.

However, we will only learn about the actual redesign when it is launched.

Nothing Phone (2) launch date

Nothing Phone (2)

The official launch date for the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) is July 11th, as stated by the company on the microblogging site.

The event will take place in London at 4:00 PM BST, which corresponds to 8:30 PM IST for viewers in India. Meanwhile, the company will live stream the launch event on its official website.

Also, the company has confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and will house a 4,700mAh battery. The rest of the details are expected to be unveiled at the launch event.

“Just wait and see,” says the OnePlus co-founder After Twitter users mocked the upcoming Nothing Phone 2 for looking the same as the Phone 1, CEO Carl Pei responded with a tweet that hinted at a design departure. He said, “to everyone sending me this: just you wait and see!”

This contradicts recently leaked renders, which show no major design changes from the Phone 1.

Nothing Phone 2

At this time, it remains unclear what new changes Nothing could implement in the upcoming smartphone.

Given that the company has already teased a similar design for the Phone 2, with only some alterations in the alignment of the glyph interface on the back, you shouldn’t expect anything too drastic.
We will have to wait and see what Nothing has in store when the Phone 2 is officially announced in July.

Nothing delivered on its promises with the Phone 1, so expectations are high for the second iteration.

Carl Pei-led startup aims to revolutionize the “boring” smartphone market.
Phone 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor backed by a 4,700mAh battery unit.
There may be improvements in the display and camera departments as well.

In a long exit message, Sheth said that “Realme has been an integral part of my life, a brand that was so much more than just on organization: it has been my home, my passion, and my purpose, I am proud of everything we accomplished together over the past five years, as we grew the brand and watched it proliferate. But even more important was what the brand gave back to me.”

He further said that “the Government of India has taken many steps towards enhancing Indian exports for many years, and I am happy to be a part of this and support the government’s export plan.”

“After a long conversation with Sky Li and also with his support, it’s time for me to contribute my share to the country’s export business,” Sheth further noted.

“I’m still a strong supporter and a strategic advisor to Realme for its development strategy. Global product observations, market insights, and operating suggestions,” he noted. Sheth added that “Realme India is strategically important and Sky Li will now oversee this market.”

Madhav Sheth’s next Step?

Realme’s Madhav Sheth

So, where is Sheth heading next? While there is no official confirmation on this yet, reports suggest that he will join Honor and help boost its business in India.

Of late, Honor has been silent on phone launches in India, but the company never officially existed the market.
Last year, an Honor spokesperson refuted reports about the company exiting the Indian market.

“Honor is maintaining business operation[s] in India and will continue its development. The earlier news report that ‘Honor officially announces its exit from the Indian market’ is not correct,” the spokesperson said.

Realme Global VP Madhav Sheth Leaves Realme

Madhav Sheth New Global Vice President

To recall, Sheth was appointed as Vice President (VP) role at Realme Global back in March. While announcing his departure from Realme, Madhav Sheth also mentioned some of the milestones and landmarks the company has created during the last 5 years.

During his time at Realme, the company became the fastest-growing smartphone brand in India with 50 million product sales.
Additionally, Realme also became India’s second-largest brand. Besides that Realme also opened exclusive and flagship stores in India, expanding their presence across the country, thereby also contributing to the “Make in India” initiative.

In a statement shared by Realme on Madhav Sheth’s exit, the company said that “We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Madhav Sheth for his valuable contributions, passion, and dedication during his tenure at realme.

Under his leadership, Realme has achieved remarkable milestones, solidifying its position as one of the fastest-growing smartphone brands worldwide. We extend our warmest wishes to Madhav for a successful future ahead. While we bid farewell to Madhav, we want to assure our customers, partners, and stakeholders that Realme’s operations will continue seamlessly.

Our commitment to providing high-quality products, exceptional user experiences, and innovative technologies remains unwavering. We will continue to drive the brand forward, delivering outstanding products and services to our customers worldwide.” Realme spokesperson.”

Currently, Madhav Sheth has not revealed any details as to which company he will be joining in future.
However, a recent report suggests that Madhav might soon take charge as Honor India CEO. It is said that the Chinese smartphone maker Honor is looking to India return by July end.

The company is expected to launch its new smartphones in India which could be sold via an online shopping portal. It is also reported that Honor has started setting up their team in India.
The company is also in touch with several senior executives from Realme and Xiaomi to see if they are willing to join.

To recall, Honor was the subbrand of Huawei. However, Huawei was forced to sell Honor back in 2020 due to sanctions imposed by the US government. Honor has not been active when it comes to launching smartphones at least in the Indian market.

However, the brand continued to maintain its presence in India by launching a few products apart from smartphones.
Most recently, Honor has launched the MagicBook X14 (2023) and MagicBook X16 (2023) laptops in India.

Honor to Re-Enter India: What We Know

realme-Madhav-Sheth2197-1.47.28-AM-1

Economic Times (ET) has shared report where it has claimed Honor India is looking for a return by the end of July.
It means we are about two months away from the re-launch of the company if everything goes as per plan. It is expected to begin by launching a few smartphone models that will be sold via online shopping portals.

The company has begun the process of setting up a new team responsible for handling Indian operations.
Honor is said to be in touch with various Realme and Xiaomi senior executives to see if they would be willing to join. The biggest highlight of the report is that Realme’s Madhav Sheth could become the CEO of Honor India.

Sheth currently serves as the Vice President of Realme and President of Realme International Business Group.
While Sheth has responded by saying, “This is a speculation”, the report adds he is currently having conversations about his role with Sky Li, CEO and Founder of Realme. Nevertheless, it would be a huge move from Honor if it manages to pull it off.

Sheth has been associated with Realme since its early days and has helped it become the brand that it is today.
He not only helped the company become household name in the smartphone space but also played a crucial role in Realme’s expansion into other categories including smart home products.

Honor used to be a Huawei sub-brand but the latter was forced to sell the company in 2020 due to sanctions imposed by the US government.

Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co Ltd is the major stakeholder in the consortium of buyers that ended up buying the company. Since then, it has released smartphones, tablets, laptops, and wearables among other products in China and Europe.

Honor India was also quite active but reports started to emerge last year that the company was exiting the Indian market and pulling its team out due to geopolitical unrest.

The company responded to these claims by saying that Indian operations will continue to be run by local partners but with a “very safe approach”. Most recently, Honor launched the MagicBook X14 (2023) and MagicBook X16 (2023) laptops in India.

MyMobile Flashback With Madhav Sheth

Realme’s Madhav Sheth

1) Trends nowadays are like waves of tsunamis, massive, powerful, and frequent!! So what are your views on this “ever-changing” & “non-lasting” trend environment?

Ans) Even if trends are continuously changing and evolving, it’s nevertheless fascinating to learn how rapidly customer tastes and preferences are changing. While the majority of trends keep on evolving, some do alter market dynamics permanently. Technology, especially digital technology and growing information processing capacity, is what’s driving the transition. Technologies by themselves do not alter business landscapes; rather, how they empower people does. For example, the smartphone industry looks drastically different today than it did three decades ago and the only constant this whole industry has understood is the need for constant innovation and addressing the constant needs of users with technology.

Therefore, I believe, It’s crucial to consider trends in the context of the bigger picture. We have an authored article about “how to manage the changing environment”. We can excerpt some good insights

2) In the end, we would love to know your honest opinion about the technology and electronics industry, current trends, market conditions & upcoming opportunities globally!!

Faqs

1) Madhav Sheth Quits Realme India, says it’s time for a new journey.Details?

Ans) The Vice President of Realme, Madhav Sheth, who has also been overlooking India operations, has now officially announced that he is leaving Realme. Further, he confirmed that Realme’s operations in India will continue seamlessly, and will now be overlooked by Sky Li, founder and CEO of the brand.

Madhav Sheth took to Twitter to announce his departure from Realme. In the long exit letter, he said that India is strategically important to Realme, and he will now act as a strategic advisor to the company for its development strategy, global product observations, market insights, and operating suggestions. Questions were already being raised regarding internal changes in Realme when Sheth was found absent from the latest Realme 11 Pro 5G series launch in India.

“The Government of India has taken many steps towards enhancing Indian exports for many years, and I am happy to be a part of this and support the government’s export plan. After a long conversation with Sky Li and also with his support, it’s time for me to contribute my share to the country’s export business”, Sheth added.

2) Realme’s Madhav Sheth to join HONOR India as CEO: Report?

Ans) Madhav Sheth, the current VP for Business and Corporate Strategy (Global) at realme, is set to join HONOR India to revive the brand in the country, according to a report by IANS. Additionally, several director-level executives from realme’s online and offline verticals are expected to join Sheth at HONOR India.

It is worth noting that Sheth was noticeably absent from realme’s recent flagship launch event, where the company introduced the realme 11 Pro 5G series. The realme 11 series was endorsed by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the brand ambassador.
Earlier this year, realme announced Sheth’s appointment as VP for Business and Corporate Strategy (Global), specifically overseeing the strategically important Indian market.

The company emphasized that Sheth’s international background and vision would provide strategic guidance for realme’s global development. The India business was entrusted to Nisar Naikoo and Dipesh Punamiya, who would manage it independently.
Sheth has played a pivotal role in introducing consumer products with innovative technologies, features, and designs during his tenure at realme.

This development holds significance as the Indian smartphone market undergoes a transformation, with Apple and Samsung solidifying their presence and focusing on local manufacturing. Chinese players are facing challenges in this fiercely competitive landscape.
HUAWEI divested its HONOR smartphone business assets to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co Ltd in 2020. Despite this, HONOR expressed its commitment to the Indian market and expanded its product offerings beyond smartphones to include laptops and wearables.

Recently, HONOR launched the HONOR MagicBook X14 and X16 2023 laptops powered by Intel Core i5 12th Gen ‘H Series’.
While the companies involved have yet to confirm these developments, we can expect more information to emerge in the coming days.

3) Realme’s Madhav Sheth may join rival Chinese brand Honor in India. Details?

Ans) Realme’s current VP for Business and Corporate Strategy (Global) Madhav Sheth may reportedly leave the technology brand to join its home country rival, Honor. According to a report in news agency IANS, Sheth is expected to soon join Honor India. According to the report, senior India leadership of Realme too is likely to join Sheth in a key exodus. He is also likely to lead Honor India’s operations as CEO in the country.

The report also claims that director-level executives from Realme’s online and offline verticals have also put in their papers. These executives will reportedly join Sheth at Honor India. However, neither Realme nor Honor has shared an official comment on the development.

The Indian market is strategically important for the global technology brand. In March, the company said that Sheth, who was promoted to the new role of VP for Business and Corporate Strategy (Global), would look after the Indian market.
Earlier, Sheth has served in multiple roles in the company which includes CEO of Realme India, VP, Realme and President and Realme International Business Group. He has also been at the forefront of creating consumer products with trendsetting technologies, features and designs in the country.

Sheth’s absence at Realme 11 Pro 5G series launch event

Sheth was absent from the company’s flagship launch event where it introduced the Realme 11 Pro 5G series. The lineup features two models –the Realme 11 Pro 5G and the 11 Pro+ 5G.

The Realme 11 Pro 5G series is being endorsed by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the company’s new brand ambassador.

Honor in the Indian market

Chinese conglomerate Huawei sold off its Honor smartphone business assets to China-based Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co Ltd. in 2020.
In 2022, Honor said it was not planning to exit the Indian market. The company also expanded beyond smartphones to enter the laptop segment in the country and even launched a wearables portfolio.

“Honor is maintaining business operations in India and will continue its development,” a company spokesperson had said. Along with its service centres, the company still has a sizable presence in the country. Since its formation in 2013, Honor has targeted the youth audience by offering low- to mid-range phones.

The company’s first laptop, Honor MagicBook 15 was also launched at Rs 42,990. The notebook features 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, a hidden pop-up webcam, a 2-in-1 fingerprint power button and a 65W fast charger. Also, the company started offering the Honor Watch GS 3 in India for Rs 12,990 in 2020.

OnePlus is gearing up to launch a couple of new phones. These include the OnePlus Nord 3 and the long-awaited OnePlus Fold.
The company will also launch a flagship in its Ace series, called OnePlus Ace 2 Pro. It could debut in the global market as OnePlus 11RT.

While an official announcement is pending, a renowned tipster has revealed key specifications for the Ace 2 Pro, highlighting features such as up to 150W charging support and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Here are the details.

OnePlus is rumoured to launch a new Ace series smartphone soon. The company launched the Ace 2 as the OnePlus 11R 5G in India.

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro
The Ace 2V from China is rumoured to launch globally as the Nord 3. It looks like OnePlus might launch another premium device in the form of the Ace 2 Pro.

The company has not confirmed any details about the launch. However, new details suggest that the Ace 2 Pro launch is imminent.

A new leak has revealed some key details about the phone’s hardware. It looks like the Ace 2 Pro will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship series SoC.

Let’s take a look at the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro’s specifications, features and other details known ahead of the launch.

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro positioned as a powerful mid-range flagship

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro

Details about the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro has been leaking extensively in the past and tipster Digital Chat Station has today shared the key specs of the upcoming device.

As per the tipster, the device is equipped with a 1.5K resolution curved display with high-frequency dimming. DCS previously claimed the panel is similar to Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ with 1440Hz PWM dimming.

Powering the smartphone will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, assisted by a new large-area VC heat dissipation technology.

The tipster reiterates that the device will get a 50MP IMX890 primary sensor in the rear, accompanied by two unknown sensors. It could be fueled by a decent 5000mAh battery unit.

The standout feature of the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is its impressive charging capabilities. According to DCS, the smartphone will support blazing-fast 150W charging, although there may also be a variant offering 100W charging.

Positioned as a mid-range flagship, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro should compete with upcoming smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi K60 Ultra and Realme GT Neo 5 Pro. Currently, there is no information available regarding the smartphone’s launch date.

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro: Specifications and Features Leaked

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro

The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro might launch soon in China. Ahead of the launch, the phone’s specifications and features have leaked.
Tipster Digital Chat Station has listed some of the key specifications of the upcoming OnePlus smartphone.

The Ace 2 Pro is said to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood. The same SoC is found in the OnePlus 11, which is the company’s flagship phone for 2023.

Oneplus
The tipster further added that the device will feature a large vapour chamber system for heat dissipation.

In addition to the performance unit details, the tipster also revealed that the Ace 2 Pro will share the primary camera sensor with its flagship family member. The device is said to feature a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera sensor with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS).

It would not be a surprise if the Ace 2 Pro features a triple-camera setup on the back. However, details about the other two rumoured camera sensors were not revealed by the tipster.

Digital Chat Station further added that the Ace 2 Pro will feature a 1.5K resolution curved display with high PWM dimming. The screen will obviously feature an AMOLED panel.
The highlight feature of the Ace 2 Pro will also be its charging tech.

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro

According to Digital Chat Station, OnePlus might launch the phone with two charging options. The base configuration will offer 100W fast charging support, which is the same as the flagship OnePlus 11 5G.
There will be another variant with faster 150W charging support. Both variants are said to pack a beefy 5000mAh battery under the hood.

While the Ace 2 Pro will feature the same SoC and battery found in the flagship, it will likely offer faster charging options. The only differences, as of now, between the Ace 2 Pro and the flagship 11 5G are in the display resolution and the other two camera sensors on the back.

The OnePlus 11 has a 2K resolution display and a triple-camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera, a 48MP Sony IMX581 ultra-wide camera and a 32MP Sony IMX709 portrait telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom support.
We do not expect the Ace 2 Pro cameras to get Hasselblad’s touch, which will further contribute to the differentiation.

OnePlus 11RT could be the global version of the Ace 2 Pro

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro

The news arrives from known tipster Digital Chat Station who shared the details on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website).
For those unaware, the company had previously announced the Ace 2 and Ace 2V model in the Chinese market earlier this year.

Now, it appears that the Ace 2 Pro will be latest entry in the lineup and will feature refreshed specifications.
This includes a new processor, which will reportedly be Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Digital Chat Station further added that the display on the Chinese smartphone maker’s upcoming Ace 2 model will be a 1.5K resolution curved panel.
In other words, it will likely be an AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and curved edges.

Apparently, BOE is the supplier for this smartphone’s display. If this is true, then it is clear that the Ace 2 Pro will be a more affordable flagship grade device that will likely skip on certain features that powers the OnePlus 11 model.

Apart from this, rumors have hinted that the cameras and battery pack on the Ace 2 Pro will be same as the base Ace 2 model.
Although, this is still unclear at the moment. The Pro model is expected to launch sometime in the second half of this year, so stick around for more updates regarding this device.

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro Specifications Leaked

OnePlus Ace 2 Pro

The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is said to feature a 1.5K display, which we assume will be an AMOLED panel, given the device’s flagship stature.
The display is said to be curved around the edges and is claimed to feature ultra-narrow bezels.

Under the hood, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is claimed to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which might be coupled with up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB internal memory.
The device is tipped to feature a large Vapour Cooling chamber for an optimum performance.

The display specifications of the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro hint that it could be a more affordable flagship-tier device and might be placed below the OnePlus 11 in terms of pricing and the brand’s portfolio.

The device is also expected to feature a 50MP triple rear camera setup and a 16MP selfie shooter.
In terms of battery, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to house 5,000mAh battery with support for 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging over a USB Type-C charging port.

Coming to the software, we can safely assume that the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will boot the latest Android 13-based ColorOS 13 skin out of the box.

As for the Indian launch, the device might launch in the country, albeit with a different moniker. OnePlus 11T? OnePlus 11RT? Time (and future leaks) would tell.

FAQ’s

1) OnePlus Ace 2 Pro key specifications leaked ahead of launch.Details?

Ans) •OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to be the company’s upcoming smartphone.
•The smartphone will most likely debut in China, and launch with a different branding in global markets.
•A new leak has now revealed the specifications of the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro.
OnePlus is expected to launch a new Ace series smartphone in China soon. The upcoming phone will be the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, and it could launch sometime between July and August. There’s still no official word from OnePlus on the Ace 2 Pro but a new leak has revealed what’s supposed to be the key specifications of the phone.

The latest leak comes from tipster Digital Chat Station who shared the details on Weibo.

Display: OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is said to feature a 1.5K resolution curved display with high PWM dimming. The specifics of the display haven’t been revealed yet.
Processor: The smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, according to the tipster. It is also said to be equipped with a large vapour chamber system for heat dissipation.
Cameras: Details are still scarce but the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to sport a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS).
Battery, charging: OnePlus is reportedly planning to offering two charging options with the Ace 2 Pro. The base model will come with 100W fast charging support, while the top-end variant will have 150W fast charging support. But both models will pack the same 5,000mAh battery.

So far, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to release only in China. We will probably see the phone launching with another branding in global markets. OnePlus has done this before with the Ace 2 which launched as the 11R 5G in India. There are also rumours that suggest the Ace 2V will launch globally as the Nord 3 smartphone. So it’s very likely that the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will launch as OnePlus 11T in markets outside China.

2) OnePlus Ace 2 Pro key specifications leaked, two charging variants tipped?

Ans) OnePlus Ace 2 Pro key specifications have been leaked in a new Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station. Apart from revealing the key details, the leak also states that the phone will arrive in two charging variants.

Reports have revealed that the Ace 2 Pro will debut in July in China. The smartphone is likely to compete with upcoming flagship phones, such as the iQOO 11S, the Realme GT Neo 5 Pro, and the Redmi K60 Ultra. The Ace 2 Pro is expected to succeed the OnePlus Ace Pro phone in 2022. The Ace Pro was rebadged as the OnePlus 10T in India. Hence, there is a possibility that the Ace 2 Pro could be rebranded as the OnePlus 11T in India. Here is a look at the leaked specifications of the Ace 2 Pro.

As per the leak, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will feature a curved-edge display with narrow bezels. The screen will support a 1.5K resolution and high-frequency dimming. Other reports have revealed that the Ace 2 Pro will feature a 6.7-inch OLED panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of appearance, the device is expected to look like the OPPO Reno 10 Pro+, which recently debuted in China.

The 3.36GHz Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 is most likely to power the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro. The said chip could be an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. In all likelihood, the device may arrive with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. For heat dissipation, the device will be equipped with a vapour chamber liquid cooling setup that occupies a large surface area.

For photography, the device will be equipped with a Sony IMX890 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS support. It is expected to pack a 5,000mAh or slightly larger battery. The phone is expected to arrive in two charging options, such as 100W and 150W. Since the phone is expected to debut in July in China, the rumour mill is expected to leak more details on its specifications in the coming days.

Placing the device on the side, we then move on to what else Infinix has bundled inside the retail box. With the smartphone, you get a SIM ejector tool, a 45-watt Fastcharge Adapter, a USB cable, a User Manual, an Infinix warranty card, and some official paperwork. Moreover, Infinix has also bundled a Screen Protector, and a Clear case for the immediate use of the device.

Based on some rumours, we were expecting 3.5mm earphones with the phone. However, to our disappointment, Infinix has apparently bundled the earphones only with Note 30 and Note 30 Pro models and not with Note 30 5G. May be based on your geographical region, you can get earphones inside the box.

So, here are the In-The-Box contents of the Infinix Note 30 5G –

Now, let’s move on to the design.

Infinix Note 30 5G – Design

Infinix Note 30 5G
Rear Design

If we had to say one thing about the design of this smartphone, we would say the Infinix Note 30 5G looks great at first glance. The Magic Black colour variant that we had for this review instantly feels attractive to hold. The boxy body and glittering yet somewhat matt finish of the back panel makes it look both classy and jazzy at the same time.

At the rear, you will immediately see the large camera housing that features the triple camera system. The camera house is quite large and takes up almost half of the back panel.
Appreciating this design pattern completely depends on your personal preferences as some users appreciate a chunky form at the back while others may not.

Personally, we quite like this design pattern when it is aesthetically done. And Note 30 5G got it right accounting to us.

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G Right View

The back panel changes colours depending on how the light hits it, giving off an attractive iridescent effect. In darker areas, the body turns into simple yet attractive plain matte black colour which looks even better.

Then there’s the signature Infinix logo at the lower portion.

A fact we love is that you won’t leave any nasty fingerprints on this phone since it’s extremely smudge resistant.

At the bottom, you get one out of two stereo speakers, a USB C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The volume and power buttons can be found on the right side while the dual SIM and micro SD card slot is on the left. Up top, we can find two out of two stereo speakers and a signature JBL Logo.

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G Top Design

If we compare it to other Infinix smartphones, the Note 30 5G  weighing 204.7g does weigh quite a bit more. However, it feels sturdy with a build quality that is quite exceptional. Despite its size, the one-hand operation seems to be manageable for the device.

Although we do wish Infinix chromed up the power button as well to match the rest of the smartphone design as the given power button seems out-of-place.

As for as the design goes, the overall look and feel of Note 30 5G does match the expectation when we project it for the flagship experience Infinix is supposedly aiming for.

Iconic Design & Immersive Software Experience

AI Noise Reduction Technology

AI Noise Reduction on the Infinix NOTE 30 5G uses Infinix’s proprietary algorithms to intelligently separate voice audio from external noise. So, whether you’re taking a call, conducting an online meeting, or chatting with teammates in a game (PUBG/MLBB, etc.), your voice will remain crystal clear.

IP53 Rating

When using in outdoor environments where there may be exposure to water or dust. For example, someone who enjoys hiking or camping may find this feature useful, as they may encounter rain or dust while using their device. Similarly, someone who frequently uses their smartphone while cooking or doing other activities that involve water or dust

may also benefit from IP53 Rating.

NFC

The biggest & best use case scenario for the NFC feature in Note 30 5G is that its for the consumers who frequently make purchases at stores that accept NFC payments, as it provides a secure and convenient payment option.

Infinix Note 30 5G – Display

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G Display

The IPS LTPS LCD display measures 6.78 inches with full HD Plus resolution, and more importantly, it comes with a 120hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display also has the support of Smart Refresh 2.1 and Magellan Engine 1.1 promising a stellar gaming and streaming experience. We obviously had to try to believe it.

We started simply by streaming some YouTube videos first. The casual streaming experience is definitely impressive. You can stream apps such as YouTube at 1440p, which is great. The colours while streaming seem very vivid but you can take it one step further with some changes in the settings.

YOUTUBE STREAM

There’s no lag or slowing down when swiping through the menu or just browsing social media. The screen is overall smooth for an everyday user.

We also tried using the device outside to check the screen brightness and the results were pretty underwhelming in direct sunlight. The screen itself is quite bright, however, gaming or streaming outside in day time or under direct sunlight wasn’t clear. Streaming in shady areas, on the other hand, was decent enough.

What we loved is the Eye Care feature that automatically makes the screen look warmer or cooler depending on your settings.

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G JBL

Not to mention, you do have the JBL-tuned stereo speakers here, which accentuates the overall display experience while gaming and streaming.

The bright and high refresh rate display also enhances the gaming experience. You can also enjoy superior gaming on this display just by tweaking a few settings here and there.

Speaking of gaming, let’s talk about the performance of Note 30 5G.

Best Entertainment Experience in the Segment

6.78” FHD+ Display

(100% DCI-P3 Color Gamut, Big Aspect Ratio with 92% Screen to Body Ratio)

The definite choice for entertainment purposes such as watching movies, videos, and playing games.

The 6.78″ large FHD+ display, DCI-P3 Color Gamut and wide aspect ratio would provide users with an immersive viewing experience, making them view the content in detail with sharper & natural colors, high resolution images & even the minutest details of the scene in the content they are viewing.

Widevine L1

Streaming services or OTTs these days use DRM technologies to protect their content from piracy and ensure that only authorized users can access the content.

120Hz Refresh Rate + 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate

120Hz Refresh Rate & 240Hz touch Sampling rate means that the screen can refresh more frequently, resulting in a smoother and more fluid display, while a higher touch sampling rate means that the touchscreen can detect and respond to touch inputs more quickly and accurately

TUV Rheinland Eye Care Certification

Blue light emission from screens can cause eye strain, headaches, and other health issues, particularly when users are exposed to it for extended periods and TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification is a display technology that reduces the blue light emission from the smartphone’s screen.

This can be used in this device by activation Eye-Care Mode in Settings

JBL Quality

Dual Stereo Speakers High-Res Certified DTS Sound

Dual speakers mean that the smartphone has two speakers, one at the top and the other at the bottom of the phone, providing stereo sound.

INFINIX & JBL collaborated to deliver the best aural experience. JBL Surround Sound provides a surreal surround sound experience, making the audio sound more immersive and lifelike.

High-Res Certification means that the audio quality meets a higher standard for audio playback, delivering audio that is more detailed and nuanced.

Infinix Note 30 5G – Performance

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G Under Performance Testing

Powering the Infinix Note 30 5G is the latest MediaTek Dimensity 6080 5G processor and it comes with 8 GB of RAM. However, there is an additional 8 GB of extended RAM, which totals 16 GB of RAM.

The device we had for this review comes with 256 GB of internal storage, which technically is a lot. However, for those of you who may still feel it’s lacking in the storage department, you do get the option to expand the device storage via the microSD card slot.

The Note 30 runs on Infinix XOS 13 which is based on Android v13.

To start with, we conducted some prominent benchmark testing on the device to understand where it actually stands with respect to performance.

Here are some Benchmark results –

The smartphone runs day-to-day apps such as Facebook, Twitter and Tick Tock very well as expected.

However, for all gaming enthusiasts, we are sure most of you would want to know about its gaming performance. To get some answers, we tried playing multiple games on the device and rarely felt any issues with respect to the response or otherwise device behaviour.

We also conducted a 3D Mark test to check the gaming capabilities of the smartphone. Here’s the result of 3D Mark testing –

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G Work Score Details

As for heavy gamers, we’re happy to report that it overall smoothly runs graphics-heavy games such as Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail.
The only drawback when playing such games on this phone is that you have to tweak the graphic settings for smoother gameplay. Also, we did notice some lags and frame drops with Star Rail especially when you speed up battle.

Overall, we are quite happy with the performance of this phone for the price and to give you a better idea of how it performs we tried running some basic benchmarks.

Infinix Note 30 5G Camera

Infinix Note 30 5G
Infinix Note 30 5G Rear Camera

The aspect that really surprised us about Infinix Note 30 5G was the camera integrated into this device. You get a 108-megapixel main shooter paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor and an AI camera. On the front, we have a 16-megapixel selfie shooter that works smoothly for video calls.

We tried taking some shots and found the camera works great during the day or in well-lit environments. Here are some shots taken at different times of the day –

The 108-megapixel main sensor produces images with nice details. When zoomed in on the other hand, results remained underwhelming. What was impressive was how the camera worked in imperfect lighting conditions.

However, as was noticed in many sample photos, the colour reproduction can be inaccurate at times with reds turning pink in some areas when in low lighting conditions.

Another thing we noticed is how the standard mode was the best option as most of the shots taking in standard mode had the best results compared to other camera mode options available.

Similar to the photos, the videos we tried shooting were great in well-lit environments too. However, it’s not the best in low-lighting conditions.

The main lens can shoot up videos to a maximum of 2K at 30 frames per second. Here’s a sample video we shot in the daylight.

DAYLIGHT CAMERA Performance

Night CAMERA Performance

An issue we noticed as we tested the video shooting capabilities, it did not seem that stable when shooting at 2K. Although there is a stabilized function, its use is quite limited as with stabilization turned on it can only record video at 1080p at 30 frames per second.

We also tried recording videos using the selfie shooter and the results seemed good enough for social media. Obviously, it’s not the best but considering the price point of this device, it’s definitely good enough.

Infinix Note 30 5G Battery

Infinix Note 30 5G Battery

Powering the Infinix Note 30 5G is a 5000mAh battery, which is more than enough for day-to-day use and even gaming by today’s standards.

From our experience of testing the device, it lasts almost an entire day including some light gaming hours. However, you still need to charge the phone at the end of the day almost like any other phone in the market.

In our PC Mark work 3.0 battery test, the phone lasted 14 hours and 14 minutes.

Infinix has packed a 45-watt fast charger with the Note 30 5G, which although is not the fastest out there it’s definitely better than the 5-watt we usually get with smartphones in this price segment.

Infinix has also tried to push for battery technology innovation this time around. The Note 30 5G comes with some unique battery features that we hardly get to see in this price segment. Here are some additional battery features –

Additional Battery Features

Battery Feature Description
45W Type-C Fast Charging

(Charge 75% in just 30mins*)

The dual-channel fast charging technology with two 2:1

charge parallel pumps are capable of delivering a 45W charge. This is fast enough to charge the 5,000mAh battery from 1  to 75 per cent in 30 minutes.

Moreover, in just a 5-minute charge, the Note 30 5G can give you 1.75 hours of gaming (MLBB).

Wired Reverse Charging

(Used Type C to Type C Cable)

Note 30 5G supports OTG wired reverse charging, and wired charging for other devices.
Bypass Mode

(First brand to offer Bypass Charging technology in the price segment)

With the Bypass Mode activated, whenever the battery level reaches or exceeds the threshold for Bypass Charging (30%

by default), the charging current bypasses the battery to go straight to the motherboard. This reduces overheating while charging and playing at the same time. Compared with regular

charging mode, Bypass Charging can reduce the temperature increase by a maximum of 7°C.

AI Smart Charge AI Smart Charge feature uses AI models to track phone usage patterns and predict when you will go to sleep and wake up. This feature allows the device to charge the battery up to

80 per cent overnight, pauses charging and then resumes just before you wake up so that you have a fully charged phone.

Overall, battery performance is optimum and we are especially thrilled about the Reverse Charge feature and the Bypass Mode Infinix has decided to integrate into this device.

The device is likely to debut later this month or in July. While we wait for the launch details, a new leak has now revealed the price of the Nord 3 5G.
The leak comes hours after the design renders of the upcoming Nord 3 5G were leaked online.

According to tipster Roland Quandt, OnePlus will launch the Nord 3 with two storage options in global markets. The tipster has revealed the phone’s European pricing for both storage options.

The OnePlus Nord 3 has been a part of the rumour mill for quite some time, and it appears that we are close to its official launch. Last week, a tipster claimed that the phone might launch “on or after 16 June.”
Now, a leak includes its “official images” that look similar to the OnePlus Ace 2V in China. OnePlus is yet to confirm the launch of the OnePlus Nord 3 in India.

OnePlus Nord 3

The renders come from the German blog WinFuture, which has a decent track record in leaks and specifications rumours. The renders suggest OnePlus Nord 3’s two colour options, including lime green and black.

The phone looks significantly different from Nord 2 as the rear cameras are not housed inside a square module. We can also notice the OnePlus alert slider to manage audio modes on the smartphone.

In terms of specifications, WinFuture suggests the Nord 3 will feature a 6.74-inch AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 2772×1240 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The phone may draw power from the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 octa-core SoC and a 5000mAh battery. The battery may have 80W charging support, which could power up the device from 0 to 100 per cent charge in less than an hour.

Although the back includes two cutouts, there are going to be three cameras. The Nord 3 will reportedly include a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
Other rumoured specifications include Android 13, 5G, under-display fingerprint scanner, up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

While the leak suggests that OnePlus might launch the phone in India this week, the phone may debut later in June as the Nord 3 could be a significant update from the company.

The Nord series is important to the company as this family of phones (plus watches and earbuds) helps OnePlus segregate its flagship devices from affordable mid-rangers.

The rest of the specifications of the phone will remain the same.

The Nord 3 5G global variant will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. It is also said to sport a triple-camera setup on the back. The device will feature a 120Hz AMOLED display as well.

The smartphone also comes in two colour options of black and green.

While this isn’t official it still corroborates past leaks and rumours of the OnePlus Nord 3 launching as a rebranded OnePlus Ace 2V.

Numerous official images of the Nord 3 have emerged online, thanks to a renowned leaker.
The leak shows the upcoming mid-range smartphone from all sides and hints at a major change from the Ace 2V on which the Nord 3 is based.

Roland Quand and WinFuture have shared official images of the Nord 3, a follow-up to last year’s Nord 2T.

In short, it appears that the Nord 3 is the global version of the Ace 2V, a mid-range option that OnePlus sells in China. Seemingly, OnePlus has not made any physical changes to the Ace 2V, with the company’s regular black and green colourways returning.

Likewise, the Nord 3 is said to feature a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 2,772 x 1,240-pixel resolution. Presumably, the large display sits within a 162 x 75 x 8 mm chassis and is supported by a 5,000 mAh battery.

Quandt adds that the latter supports 80W wired charging, matching the capabilities of the Nord 2T. Additionally, OnePlus will maintain the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset from the Ace 2V, which it will pair with up to 16 GB of RAM.

Moreover, the Nord 3 is expected to offer 8 MP ultra-wide-angle and 2 MP macro cameras. Conversely, Quandt claims that OnePlus has swapped the 64 MP primary camera in the Ace 2V for a 50 MP sensor, matching the Nord 2T.

Also, the leaker states that the Nord 3 will start with 8 GB of RAM and 128 of storage; the Ace 2V is configurable with a minimum of 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. There will be no 512 GB of storage option, either.

Instead, the Nord 3 will peak at 256 GB of non-expandable storage. Pricing and availability has not surfaced yet, although OnePlus still remains barred from selling devices in Germany.

Alleged OnePlus Nord 3 Live Images

OnePlus Nord 3

The OnePlus Nord 3 live images have been shared by a Twitter user @realMlgmXyysd, showing off the complete design.
The phone looks identical to the OnePlus Ace 2V, which makes us believe the Nord 3 could be a rebrand.

While the live image shows the design completely, the source appears to be dubious as we see the Chinese variant and not the global model, so it may very well be the OnePlus Ace 2V.

The handset has a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter, flat edges, and narrow bezels.

Flipping the phone to the back, we are greeted with two circular modules that house triple camera sensors and an LED flash. We see OnePlus branding as well.

The power button and alert slider are on the right edge, while the volume rocker could be on the left side.
Interestingly, one of the images shows the ‘About Phone’ page of the phone.

The OnePlus Nord 3 Design Shown in full ahead of Launch

OnePlus Nord 3

In any case, these renders have been shared by WinFuture, and they show us the phone in both black and cyan colors. The device will have flat sides with chamfered edges, and a flat display.

A centered display camera hole is placed at the top of the display, while you’ll see physical buttons on both the left and right sides. On the left, a volume rocker is placed, while the power/lock button and an alert slider sit on the right side.

There are three cameras placed on the back of the phone, across two camera islands. OnePlus will also include two LED lights on the back, next to the aforementioned camera islands.
The back side of the phone will also be flat, but it will curve into the frame on the edge to make the phone more comfortable to use.

It will be a rebranded OnePlus Ace 2V handset which launched in China already

OnePlus Nord 3

Now, as mentioned earlier, this phone will be a rebranded Ace 2V handset. That device already launched in China. The OnePlus Nord 3 won’t only look like the Ace 2V, but it will also utilize its specs.

The phone will feature a 6.74-inch 2772 x 1240 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC will fuel this phone. You can also expect to get up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

A 50-megapixel main camera will be placed on the back, along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. A 2-megapixel macro shooter will also be in use.

A 5,000mAh battery will power the device, and 80W wired charging will be supported.

The OnePlus Nord 3’s price tag is still unknown. The phone is expected to launch in the near future, but the exact date is also a mystery at the moment. One thing to note is that the device won’t launch in Germany due to a dispute with Nokia.

ONEPLUS NORD 3 LEAKED RENDERS CONFIRM DESIGN IN ALL GLORY

OnePlus Nord 3

After a long waiting, the OnePlus Nord 3 seems to be finally coming. It was expected for the last year, but instead, OnePlus came with a OnePlus Nord 2T variant.

Now, that the OnePlus Nord 2 is about to complete its second anniversary, OnePlus seems to be ready to unveil the OnePlus Nord 3.

The device had been a target of leaks in the past few weeks, now we have more renders, courtesy of WinFuture.de that confirm the design of this cost-effective flagship in all glory. As rumored, the OnePlus Nord 3 will arrive as a rebadged OnePlus Ace 2V.

OnePlus Nord 3 Design Confirmed yet again

OnePlus Nord 3

The OnePlus Nord 3 renders reveal two distinct hues. We have the traditional Blue/Green hue and a classic Dark Gray color option.

These are recurring colors in the OnePlus Nord series and are making a comeback with the Nord 3. Since this device is out of the “flagship” class, we don’t expect additional colors to appear.

However, we won’t discard the launch of a special version in the future. The design of the phone is in line with the OnePlus Ace 2V which launched in China a few months ago.

The OnePlus Ace 2V is a variant with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. While the original OnePlus Ace 2 reached the global market as OnePlus 11R, the Ace 2V is yet exclusive to China. That will change soon as the phone will now launch with a OnePlus Nord 3 makeover.

Under the hood, we will have the aforementioned chipset with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. If the phone is just a conventional rebranding, we are going to see the same 6.74-inch AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 2,772 x 1,240 pixels of resolution.

It should bring a triple-camera system with a 64 MP main camera, 8 MP ultrawide, and 2 MP macro snapper. The device will run Android 13 OS with OxygenOS 13 straight out of the box.

The Nord 3 will reach markets like India and Europe. However, it should be out of Germany due to a local patent dispute between Oppo (OnePlus’s parent company) and Nokia.

OnePlus Nord 3 leaks in official-looking renders, launch is definitely nearing

OnePlus Nord 3

The OnePlus Nord 2 is turning two years old next month, so it’s clearly high time for its successor to make its debut, and that’s looking like it will happen very soon.

Today some official-looking press renders of the upcoming Nord 3 have been leaked, and the launch could very well be imminent. The Nord 3 is presented here in two hues, as you can see – the now-trademark OnePlus blue/green/teal hue, as well as a more classic-looking dark gray/black.

Rumor has it the Nord 3 will be just a rebranded OnePlus Ace 2V, a phone that went official in China back in March.

If this pans out, then expect the Nord 3 to come with a 6.74-inch 120 Hz 1240×2772 touchscreen with Asahi Glass on top, a triple rear camera setup (64 MP main, 8 MP ultrawide, 2 MP macro), a 16 MP selfie camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 80W wired charging support.

The OnePlus Nord 3 will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, if it is indeed just an Ace 2V by another name. It will run Android 13 with OxygenOS 13 on top.

The OnePlus Nord 3 won’t be available in Germany due to an ongoing patent dispute between parent company Oppo and Nokia, but should be out in other European countries “in the coming days”, according to the usually reliable source of this leak.

4) OnePlus Nord 3 5G .Everything we need to know ?

Ans) The Nord 3 was supposed to arrive in 2022, but the company chose to unveil the Nord 2T with minor upgrades. Now, the original successor to the Nord 2 is expected to arrive in the near future with better specifications this year. It could feature either a 4,500mAh or 5,000mAh battery under the hood.
The company could provide support for a 100W fast charger considering the Nord 2T has support for 80W fast charging tech.
The mid-range phone features an AMOLED screen which will likely refresh at 120Hz and operate at FHD+ resolution. We might see a triple camera array at the back of the OnePlus Nord 3. It could include a high-resolution wide-angle sensor with support for OIS. It will reportedly offer the ability to record 4K videos.
While there are no hints on the pricing details, we expect the OnePlus Nord 3 to fall under Rs 30,000 segment. This is the price segment that OnePlus has targeted for previous versions too. If the company is planning to launch this phone in the coming months, then we should hear about them more.

5) OnePlus Nord 3 5G Listed On SIRIM; Local Launch Likely Coming.Details?

Ans) OnePlus could potentially launch a new mid-range device soon and it might be coming to Malaysia not long after the unveiling. The long-rumoured Nord 3 5G, the successor to the Nord 2, is said to be a rebranded Ace 2V but with some altered specs.

While nothing has been officially announced by the company yet, we found that the Nord 3 has already been listed on the SIRIM database with the model number CPH2493. Moreover, it has been certified no less than three times by different companies, dating all the way back to April and the most recent one was registered less than two weeks ago.
The phone itself was leaked in its entirety just last month and if it’s accurate, it should be nearly identical to the Ace 2V. It will sport a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a 2772×1240 resolution, a peak brightness of 1,450 nits, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the brand will equip the phone with its signature alert slider.

Internally, it will run on a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, although the configurations could be different when it arrives here. For connectivity, it will support 5G, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.3 as well as having an IR blaster.
The camera setup is where it will allegedly differ from its Chinese counterpart, with the primary camera using a 50MP sensor instead of 64MP along with an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro lens. Powering the phone will be a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging. It will also ship with OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13.

The OnePlus Nord 3 5G could come in at just under the RM2,000 mark if it follows a similar pricing structure as the Nord 2T. Since the company has not made any announcements regarding the device, we’ll have to wait to find out when the device will be available in Malaysia.
