Now, let’s get to some of the aspects that got us excited about Lava Agni 2.

So, as you might have guessed, we are exploring Lava Agni 2 in this blog.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Unboxing

Lava Agni 2 comes in a stylish side-flap black colour retail box.
At first glance, the retail box looks a bit longer than usual smartphone retail packages and it is also a bit heavier than usual.
But before we get to the in-the-box contents, the packaging itself has a lot to talk about.

Being the first home-grown smartphone brand to launch the first Indian 5G smartphones back in 2021, Lava must be appreciated for always pushing the boundaries for the Indian smartphone industry.
And looking at the retail box of Lava Agni 2, it becomes evident that Lava as a brand is equally proud of its achievements.

The retail box on the side mentions #ProudlyIndian making it immediately clear why Agni 2 should be considered special.
If that was not enough, Lava has also added an entire paragraph of text on the top of the box, explaining how this new device is “India’s own firepower.”

The retail box also mentions Agni 2 as “The Best Indian Smartphone.”

Now, let’s move on to the box contents.

What’s in the Lava Agni 2 5G Box?

As you open the side flap of the box, you are immediately greeted with the Agni 2 smartphone itself, wrapped in a plastic cover and neatly tucked in a deep orange plastic tray.
Keeping the smartphone on the side for a moment, we move on to the contents by removing the plastic tray.

Next, we find a card that details one of Lava’s most impressive after-sales policies. With Lava Agni 2, the brand is offering Free Phone Replacement at home, applicable during the 1 year warranty period.

This, as per Lava’s claim, is the first time in the segment we will have a handset replacement at the home offer with a smartphone. The card has all the details about the offer and how to avail it.

Then, we also get a soft plastic case inside the box along with the SIM ejector tool.

Lava Agni 2 also comes with a 66-watt Type-C output power adapter, a USB Type-C to Type-C cable, and a 3.5mm headphone adapter since the device doesn’t have a headphone jack.

With all this, Lava has pretty much packed everything inside the box. Moving on to the smartphone itself, let’s get to the design department.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Design

The first thing that caught our attention was the design of this super smartphone. The build quality of the phone is superior and it comes in a proper glass sandwich design with a curved glass on the rear and curved glass on the front that blends into a slim plastic frame in between.

What Lava calls the design is the 3D Curved Back and this 3D curved back has a circular camera module with the four cameras symmetrically placed at the top four corners.

This circular camera module does jet out from the rear but thankfully it doesn’t cause too much of a table wobble.

The glass back has a frosted matte finish and therefore the in-hand feel is actually good. Having said that, some of our team members did feel that the phone is a bit slippery, although that immediate feeling could entirely go away as you get used to holding the phone on a regular basis.

One issue is the 200+ gram weight of the device, which is distributed slightly unevenly and therefore the phone feels slightly top heavy as a result. But honestly, this should not be too much of a concern in daily usage.

As for the posts and buttons, you get the Power Button and a Volume Rocker on the right edge and a Type-C 2.0 port, a single speaker grille and a SIM card tray single at the bottom.

So, Lava got rid of the headphone jack in this smartphone. We honestly aren’t too thrilled about it even though a headphone jack audio adapter has been bundled in the retail box for users who still preferred the wired sound systems.

So the Lava Agni 2 is available only in one colour option, it’s called Viridian Green Colour. This is actually a beautiful shade of green, which looks very close to Olive.
The colour also has a nice sheen to it that gives off superior-quality vibes.

Actually, the entire time that we have had the phone in our hands, it did feel extremely premium. So, all in all, the Lava Agni 2 is quite a step up from its predecessor when it comes to the overall design composition.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Display and Sound

The display refreshes at 120Hz
It supports the Widevine L1 certificate

The design premium-ness of Lava Agni 2 is further enhanced by the fact that you get a curved display on the front as well. This is a large 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 120hz Refresh Rate and Short Sensation Alpha Protection on the front.

Now by default, the refresh rate is set at a dynamic switch of 120 hertz, which means that it will switch between 120 and 60 depending on the content that’s playing on the screen.

However, you can also set it to an always high refresh rate of 120 hertz as well.

The display also supports HDR 10 Plus. We noticed that HDR support is available on YouTube only and not on Netflix. As per Lava, Netflix support is also coming soon via software updates.

In our testing, we loved the fact that the display is pretty vibrant and fairly bright as well.
You get 500 nits of peak brightness when you’re using the display indoors and when you take it outdoors, it can touch a peak brightness of 915 nits which is the same for when you’re watching HDR content as well.

However, while watching HDR videos, I noticed that the algorithm sort of over-sharpens the YouTube HDR videos.

Although, it is pretty clear that most people who end up watching content on the Lava Agni 2 will actually like the way it looks because it looks vibrant, rich and colourful.

One concern that needs to be addressed is that during testing the phone or while we were using the camera app, sometimes the shutter button wasn’t clicking or the record button wasn’t sharply responding.
This, we are assuming, is primarily because the mistouch prevention algorithm is not that good.

But both the problems that we have highlighted whether it is the HDR over sharpening algorithm or the mistouch prevention issues, both can be fixed with the software update.

So, hopefully, Lava can quickly work on that too.

So, speaking of display and HDR streaming, another complaint is with the single speakers used in this one. The single speaker is of course not an ideal feature in a phone of this calibre.
A stereo speaker would have been any day better. Having said that, it does sound rich and lush during our streaming tests, if not too loud.

Nevertheless, thanks to the tiny bezels around the display you get great screen estate and the tiny punch hole in the centre that gives a premium screen experience.

Also part of the display is an in-display fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint scanner can unlock the phone in 0.24 seconds and is placed slightly low but we really don’t see why that should create any issue for any user.

The other good thing is the X-axis Linear Motor. The haptic feedback is very good and Lava deserves appreciated for trying to give users a premium experience in all aspects.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Performance

Out of all the good things we have to say about Agni 2, the superior software experience you get with this phone definitely ranks at the top.
You get the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 Processor, which is basically a slightly better version of the Dimensity 1080.

The phone also comes by default with 8GB of RAM along with the usual virtual RAM on top of it and 256 GB of internal storage as well. What you need to note is that this is the base and the only variant available for Lava Agni 2.

Coming back to the chipset. What is important to note is that it is one of the most powerful chips that you can find in this price category.

To test this, we perform some of the standard tests on the device and the results easily corroborated the fact.

The AnTuTu scores (which you can see below on your screen) came out above 5 lakhs. And the Geekbench scores (check out the screenshots below) were also extremely encouraging.

Another great aspect of using the phone is that it doesn’t throttle too much. In the CPU throttle test, we got a stability of over 80 per cent and 3D Mark Wildlife test, we got a stability of over 99 per cent.

The phone comes with Android 13 right out of the box. It’s almost the stock Android experience with a few lava embellishments on top of it. Also, Lava has decided to go bloatware free with the Lava Agni 2 and we couldn’t be happier even if we wanted.

Not getting dozens of stupid apps pre-installed is a dream that all mid-range devices should now seriously try to fulfil. There is no point in stuffing the device with unwanted apps that we all know no one actually uses.

To add to the positives, Lava also promises assured upgrades to Android 14 and 15 on the Agni 2 and quarterly security updates as well.

The phone also supports 13 5G bands which include n77 and n78. So, there should be absolutely no problem with connecting to Jio 5G Network or Airtel 5G Network, the two top 5G service providers in India at the moment.

We also downloaded the Call of Duty mobile and you can play the game with high graphics with very high frame rates and low graphics with max frame rates.

All in all, the gaming performance is good.
The device doesn’t heat up and it doesn’t throttle. It definitely is a good mid-range phone and after using the phone for a couple of days, we have only noticed overall stable performance in all aspects.

So, let’s talk about the camera.

You get a 50-megapixel Primary Camera which is an OmniVision Sensor along with an 8-megapixel Ultra Wide. Further, there are a couple of 2-megapixel cameras, which are basically macro and depth sensors. On the front, you get a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.

In our first testing routine, we tried the camera and the results were definitely leaning towards the positive side. For your reference, here are some sample shots taken by the camera at different times throughout the day.

The primary camera shoots fairly sharp pixel bend images but we also noticed slightly boosted colours. Also, the HDR processing could have been slightly better too. However, the skin tones are nice and pleasing when shooting people.

The Portrait Mode is not too shabby at Edge detection and creates a nice-looking bokeh. Having said that, there is a difference in skin tone colour that we noticed when shooting in Portraits Mode and even in regular pictures.

Low-light shots, however, are not that impressive. The night mode algorithm does very little to accentuate details from the shadows and the Ultra Wide angle colour sense consistency is also off.

Another strange aspect is not getting the option for HDR with the Ultra Wide or the selfie camera.
Talking about the selfie camera, which seems decent on paper but in practical tests, we figured the result shots were good when taken in daylight but the camera was clearly struggling in low-light conditions.

Before we move on to the video shooting features, here’s a quick video shot with the camera to give you all a fair idea of the video shooting capabilities.

You can shoot 4K 30 FPS videos using the primary camera but the EIS kicks in at 2K 30 FPS resolution. Now, this is not a usual setting and this is probably the first time we have encountered a phone with this specific recording resolution.
You can shoot 1080p 30fps videos using the front camera albeit without electronic image stabilization. However, what we could understand is why you cannot shoot videos with the Ultra Wide angle camera.

Now as for the battery, you get a 4700mAh battery integrated into this phone. Although it’s not the typical 5000mAh battery, it does its job and solves the purpose.
Now, more about the battery performance can only be said after the adaptive battery gets enough time to tune itself.

You also get a 66-watt fast charger bundled with the phone and this charger is capable of taking your phone from 0 to 100 per cent battery sign in just about 35 to 40 minutes.

Now, this is great as we can even call it class-leading.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Price and Availability

Lava Agni 2 5G price in India starts from ₹21,999 for the single variant it is available in. It is available as Amazon Specials at the lowest price with the next sale scheduled to go live on Amazon India on 15th June 2023 at 12 PM.

As mentioned before, Agni 2 is available in a single variant with 8GB + 8GB* RAM and 256GB internal storage.

As for the colour options, again Lava is offering one colour option and if case you want to take Agni 2 home, you will only get it in Glass Viridian Colour.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Dual SIM and Connectivity

The Lava Agni 2 5G has dual SIMs with support for 5G in both the SIMs. The phone has the usual set of connectivity features such as 5G with support for n1/n3/n5/n7/n8/n20/n28/n38/n40/n41/n66/n77/n78 5G bands, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax (2.4 + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS + GLONASS, but it doesn’t have NFC support. We did not face any call drops and the earpiece volume is good. There are no connectivity issues on Wi-Fi or 4G / 5G.

Lava has not mentioned the exact SAR value of the phone on the site, in the box, and it is also not revealed on the phone, which just shows <1.6W/Kg that is the limit in India.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Alternatives

The latest realme 11 Pro 5G is a direct competitor with a similar curved AMOLED screen and the same processor, but it is costly for the 8GB + 256GB model.

Lava Agni 2 5G – Software, UI and Apps

It runs Android 13 out of the box with Android security patch for March 2023. The company has promised 2 Android updates and 3 years of security updates for the phone. You don’t get any bloatware.

The phone has 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM out of which you get 7.5GB of usable RAM, and about 3GB of RAM is free when default apps are running in the background. It has up to 8GB of RAM extension or virtual RAM, and it is set to 6GB by default, which you can disable.

The DuraSpeed feature lets you restrict apps from running in the background, but it tends to kill some important apps like music player when it’s running, so just make sure you disable it for important apps.

Out of 256GB, you get about 230GB of free storage. It has UFS 2.2 storage, and we got sequential read speeds of 981/4MB/s. Apart from the Google apps, it doesn’t have any third-party apps.

Verdict

So, there should be any doubt that Lava Agni 2 falls under the category of a “desirable phone.” This is the type of device that if you see on display, we are sure you will reach out and would want to know more.

It is also a good phone especially considering its price. The price of Rs 21,999 and with a special offer of Rs 19,999 is so good that it actually makes a lot of other popular smartphone brands and their series leading devices look expensive in comparison.

Let us also address the fact that we now have a truly Indian company making a phone which delivers in every aspect it promises and stands a great chance amongst its international competitors.

On top of everything positive, we have seen with Agni 2, Lava is also providing a One-Year Free Phone Replacement at Home if anything happens to it.
The promise does sounds like an overcommit, but let’s just take the brand’s word for it now.

And we just hope Lava can live up to that their words because good after-sales service is always appreciated in this category.

In conclusion, the Lava Agni 2 5G is a powerhouse of a smartphone that combines a stunning display, powerful performance, impressive cameras, ample storage, and long-lasting battery life.

With the brand promoting it with #ProudlyIndian, it also packs a sentimental angle being the truly first Indian smartphone brand.

Lava Agni 2 5G Review: Should you buy it?

Lava Agni 2 is one of the most anticipated smartphones from the company yet. After using the phone for a few weeks, I found that it does live up to the hype.

If you are looking for a smartphone under Rs 25000 that does most of the work well, the Lava Agni 2 is surely a decent option to consider.

I thoroughly enjoy the curved display of the Lava Agni 2 and the customization features that allow me to personalize it according to my preferences.

The performance is also decent, and the battery life and charging capabilities exceed expectations.

Additionally, the camera system works quite well. However, the issues with focus in macro photography, screen bleeding, and screen freezing did have a slight impact on my overall experience with the Agni 2.

Nevertheless, these issues did not completely detract from the phone’s appeal as a viable option in the under Rs 25,000 smartphone category. All things considered, the Lava Agni 2 offers a satisfactory camera, battery life, and overall performance.

So, if you’re looking to support a local brand and explore something new, the Lava Agni 2 is a good option within its price range.

However, if you are still interested in comparing alternatives, you can check out the Moto G82, priced at Rs 19,999, which offers impressive battery life, camera capabilities, and overall performance.

Fingerprint Sensor and Face unlock

Music Player and Multimedia

YouTube Music is the default music player. It doesn’t have Dolby Atmos or any other custom audio features. Audio through the mono speaker is decent, but the company could have offered a stereo speaker option.

Audio through the headphones is good as well. The phone has Widevine L1 so that you can play HD content on Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and other streaming apps. You also get HDR playback on YouTube, but not on Netflix.

This corresponds to the Dimensity 6020 processor.
The listing reveals 8GB RAM onboard and we can expect more configurations at launch.
In the Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests results, the Narzo 60 5G scores 714 and 1,868 points respectively.

The report reveals that the Narzo 60 5G will be a rebadged version of the Realme 11 5G in China.
Additional details of the upcoming Narzo phone remain scarce at the moment.
The Realme 11 5G has already bagged multiple certifications including 3C, TENAA, and BIS.
It is expected to come with a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and a 90Hz refresh rate.

The company did not launch the Reno 9 series earlier this year and instead is tipped to announce three premium Reno 10 series phones later this year.

There is no official word from the company.

However, a new leak has revealed the Reno 10 series India launch timeline and some design images.
Live images of the Reno 10 series have leaked online.

The devices are likely to debut next month. While the exact launch date is unknown, the report revealed that the Reno 10 series will launch in India by mid-July.

OPPO Reno 10 Series India Launch: Design Images and Specifications Leaked

The OPPO Reno 10 series is said to launch in India by mid-July.
Ahead of the launch, live images of the devices have leaked online.

The report revealed the Reno 10 Pro+ in its Twilight Purple and Moon Sea Black colours. The design is, more or less, the same as the Chinese variants.

There is a protruding pill-shaped camera module on the back with a dual-tone design. The top portion of the camera module houses two out of the three camera sensors and an LED flash module.
The bottom half has the periscope lens and the “Powered by MariSilicon” text, confirming the inclusion of the OPPU NPU.

The report also revealed some details about the specifications of the India variants of the Reno 10 series.

According to 91Mobiles, the Reno 10 series will launch in India with differences in the camera and chipset departments.

The report revealed that the Reno 10 India variant will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 instead of Snapdragon 778G SoC found in its Chinese version.
The Reno 10 Pro will feature a Snapdragon 778G SoC instead of a MediaTek Dimensity 8200.

The top-end Reno 10 Pro+ 5G has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC in China and will come to India with the same specs.

In addition to the above details, the report revealed that the phones will debut globally in Black, Blue and Purple colour options.
The Gold colour option will remain exclusive to China.

While there are camera changes tipped, the Indian variants of the Reno 10 series are said to feature a telephoto camera on the back.
In terms of charging, the Reno 10 series will have the same charging tech as its Chinese versions.

The Reno 10 Pro+ 5G will offer 100W fast charging support, whereas the Reno 10 and Reno 10 Pro will offer 80W fast charging support out of the box.

OPPO Reno 10 Pro 5G Global Renders and Specifications

The renders reveal that OPPO will ship the global Reno 10 Pro 5G smartphone with a different design on the rear. The rear camera layout of the smartphone has been completely changed.

Sudhanshu Ambhore added that the same device will launch in India.
The Reno 10 Pro 5G is said to be equipped with a 6.7 inches AMOLED display with a Full HD+ (2412 x 1080) resolution.

OPPO will equip the display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an aspect ratio of 20:1:9, and 1.07 billion colours. The company will use a 10-bit AMOLED panel with the Pro smartphone.

Underneath, it will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, built on a 6nm process. In contrast, the Chinese variant is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, built with a newer 4nm process.

OPPO has downgraded the display resolution and chipset to price the smartphone aggressively.

The chipset will be paired with 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB storage. The smartphone will also support virtual RAM expansion of up to 12GB.
The device will run on Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box. OPPO hasn’t downgraded its optics in comparison to the Chinese variant.

The Chinese OEM will equip the device with a triple rear camera with an integrated LED flash. The setup will comprise a primary 50MP Sony sensor with OIS, f/1.8 aperture, and a sensor size of 1/1.56-inch.
The sensor will be paired with a secondary 8MP Sony ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.0 aperture and a 32MP Sony IMX 709 telephoto sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
The centred punch-hole in the display will feature a 32MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. The device will feature night, panorama, portrait, and macro photography.

OPPO Reno 10 Pro 5G will be backed by a 4600 mAh battery which supports 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging tech.
OPPO will equip the smartphone with an IP54 rating to protect it from water splashes.

Other specifications include stereo speakers, dual Nano-SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB type-C port. OPPO will also ship the smartphone with a screen protector in the box for European markets.

Previously, a tipster revealed that OPPO is likely to price the OPPO Reno 10 Pro 5G smartphone between Rs 35,000 and Rs 39,000.

The Reno 10 Pro and Reno 10 Pro+ 5G will debut in India with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The former is tipped to cost between Rs 35,000 and Rs 39,000 in India. While the top-end Reno 10 Pro+ 5G will likely be priced between Rs 41,000 and Rs 43,000.

The Reno 10 Pro will also come with the same chipset as the Reno10. In China, the Reno 10 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset.

The top-end Reno10 Pro+ will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
There’s no change here as the Chinese model also has the same processor.

Only the Black, Blue and Purple colour options will be available globally; the Gold colour will be exclusive to China.

All three phones are also confirmed to feature a telephoto lens.

There’s no change in the fast charging power as well since the Reno10 Pro+ is said to come with 100W fast charging support, like the China variant.

Realme’s Madhav Sheth has officially announced his exit from the company. The VP of Realme Global took to Twitter to confirm his departure from Realme.

As noted by Madhav Sheth in the announcement, Sky Li, founder and CEO of Realme will now oversee the market.
In a letter posted on Twitter, Madhav Sheth mentions that he will continue to cheer the brand from the sidelines, and he will act as a strategic advisor to Realme for its development strategy, global product observation, market insights, and operating suggestions.

Realme’s Madhav Sheth has left the organization to start a “new journey”. Sheth, who has been a part of Realme India’s success journey since day one, announced the news of his exit on Wednesday. Realme was launched in India back in 2018.

“After 5 years at realme, it’s time for me to move on and start a new journey,” Sheth noted in an official tweet. Sheth’s exit comes months after Xiaomi India head Manu Jain quit.

In a long exit message, Sheth said that “Realme has been an integral part of my life, a brand that was so much more than just on organization: it has been my home, my passion, and my purpose, I am proud of everything we accomplished together over the past five years, as we grew the brand and watched it proliferate. But even more important was what the brand gave back to me.”

He further said that “the Government of India has taken many steps towards enhancing Indian exports for many years, and I am happy to be a part of this and support the government’s export plan.”

“After a long conversation with Sky Li and also with his support, it’s time for me to contribute my share to the country’s export business,” Sheth further noted.

“I’m still a strong supporter and a strategic advisor to Realme for its development strategy. Global product observations, market insights, and operating suggestions,” he noted. Sheth added that “Realme India is strategically important and Sky Li will now oversee this market.”

Madhav Sheth’s next Step?

So, where is Sheth heading next? While there is no official confirmation on this yet, reports suggest that he will join Honor and help boost its business in India.

Of late, Honor has been silent on phone launches in India, but the company never officially existed the market.
Last year, an Honor spokesperson refuted reports about the company exiting the Indian market.

“Honor is maintaining business operation[s] in India and will continue its development. The earlier news report that ‘Honor officially announces its exit from the Indian market’ is not correct,” the spokesperson said.

However, a recent report suggests that Madhav might soon take charge as Honor India CEO. It is said that the Chinese smartphone maker Honor is looking to India return by July end.

OnePlus is expected to launch a new Ace series smartphone in China soon. The upcoming phone will be the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, and it could launch sometime between July and August. There’s still no official word from OnePlus on the Ace 2 Pro but a new leak has revealed what’s supposed to be the key specifications of the phone.

The latest leak comes from tipster Digital Chat Station who shared the details on Weibo.

Display: OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is said to feature a 1.5K resolution curved display with high PWM dimming. The specifics of the display haven’t been revealed yet.
Processor: The smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, according to the tipster. It is also said to be equipped with a large vapour chamber system for heat dissipation.
Cameras: Details are still scarce but the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to sport a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS).
Battery, charging: OnePlus is reportedly planning to offering two charging options with the Ace 2 Pro. The base model will come with 100W fast charging support, while the top-end variant will have 150W fast charging support. But both models will pack the same 5,000mAh battery.

So far, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to release only in China. We will probably see the phone launching with another branding in global markets. OnePlus has done this before with the Ace 2 which launched as the 11R 5G in India. There are also rumours that suggest the Ace 2V will launch globally as the Nord 3 smartphone. So it’s very likely that the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will launch as OnePlus 11T in markets outside China.

Ans) OnePlus Ace 2 Pro key specifications have been leaked in a new Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station. Apart from revealing the key details, the leak also states that the phone will arrive in two charging variants.

Reports have revealed that the Ace 2 Pro will debut in July in China. The smartphone is likely to compete with upcoming flagship phones, such as the iQOO 11S, the Realme GT Neo 5 Pro, and the Redmi K60 Ultra. The Ace 2 Pro is expected to succeed the OnePlus Ace Pro phone in 2022. The Ace Pro was rebadged as the OnePlus 10T in India. Hence, there is a possibility that the Ace 2 Pro could be rebranded as the OnePlus 11T in India. Here is a look at the leaked specifications of the Ace 2 Pro.

As per the leak, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will feature a curved-edge display with narrow bezels. The screen will support a 1.5K resolution and high-frequency dimming. In terms of appearance, the device is expected to look like the OPPO Reno 10 Pro+, which recently debuted in China.

The 3.36GHz Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 is most likely to power the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro. The said chip could be an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. In all likelihood, the device may arrive with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Scheduled to be launched in India on 14th June 2023, Infinix Note 30 5G price in India is expected to be under Rs. 15,000 for the base variant.

Now, the Note Series has been out in the global market for some time now with its three models – Infinix Note 30, Infinix Note 30 5G, and Infinix Note 30 VIP. In India, however, we are only getting the Infinix Note 30 5G as of now.

We, at My Mobiles India, have managed to get our hands on the Infinix Note 30 5G before its official launch and have been using it for a couple of days now.
Based on our experience with the device and all the aggressive testing we have put it through, we are sharing our exclusive first-hand in-depth Infinix Note 30 5G review in this blog.

Best of everything, Infinix Note 30 5G price in India is expected to be under Rs. 15,000, making it one of the most affordable yet powerful devices with a flagship experience.

Infinix Note 30 5G sports a 6.78-inch FHD+ display with 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, 580nit peak brightness, DCI-P3 wide colour gamut and 90.6% screen-to-body ratio. The display also comes with a special Eye Care Mode.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Infinix Note 30 5G on the rear packs a triple camera setup with a 108-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel camera and AI Camera. On this front, it has a single camera setup featuring a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.

The device comes with a massive 5000mAh battery with 45W All-Round Fast Charge and Reverse Charge support to ensure a long uninterrupted performance. It also has a Bypass Charging mode that allows users to charge the device bypass charging current bypasses the battery to go straight to the motherboard.

As per the brand’s claim, this reduces overheating while charging and using the device at the same time.

The smartphone will be available in three colour variants including Interstellar Blue, Sunset Gold, and Magic Black.

Infinix Note 30 5G – Unboxing

The packaging of the device is similar to the standard Infinix Note series. We get the device in an attractive darkish lime green colour official Infinix packaging.

As we open the retail box, we are initially presented with the smartphone itself, packed in a plastic wrap with product branding and key features neatly printed on top. The device we had for this review is the Magic Black colour variant that quickly catches your eye for its stylish lustrous back finish. (More on the design in the design section.)

Placing the device on the side, we then move on to what else Infinix has bundled inside the retail box. With the smartphone, you get a SIM ejector tool, a 45-watt Fastcharge Adapter, a USB cable, a User Manual, an Infinix warranty card, and some official paperwork. Moreover, Infinix has also bundled a Screen Protector, and a Clear case for the immediate use of the device.

Based on some rumours, we were expecting 3.5mm earphones with the phone. However, to our disappointment, Infinix has apparently bundled the earphones only with Note 30 and Note 30 Pro models and not with Note 30 5G. May be based on your geographical region, you can get earphones inside the box.

Now, let’s move on to the design.

Infinix Note 30 5G – Design

If we had to say one thing about the design of this smartphone, we would say the Infinix Note 30 5G looks great at first glance. The Magic Black colour variant that we had for this review instantly feels attractive to hold. The boxy body and glittering yet somewhat matt finish of the back panel makes it look both classy and jazzy at the same time.

At the rear, you will immediately see the large camera housing that features the triple camera system. The camera house is quite large and takes up almost half of the back panel.
Appreciating this design pattern completely depends on your personal preferences as some users appreciate a chunky form at the back while others may not.

Personally, we quite like this design pattern when it is aesthetically done. And Note 30 5G got it right accounting to us.

The back panel changes colours depending on how the light hits it, giving off an attractive iridescent effect. In darker areas, the body turns into simple yet attractive plain matte black colour which looks even better.

Then there’s the signature Infinix logo at the lower portion.

A fact we love is that you won’t leave any nasty fingerprints on this phone since it’s extremely smudge resistant.

At the bottom, you get one out of two stereo speakers, a USB C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The volume and power buttons can be found on the right side while the dual SIM and micro SD card slot is on the left. Up top, we can find two out of two stereo speakers and a signature JBL Logo.

If we compare it to other Infinix smartphones, the Note 30 5G weighing 204.7g does weigh quite a bit more. However, it feels sturdy with a build quality that is quite exceptional. Despite its size, the one-hand operation seems to be manageable for the device.

Although we do wish Infinix chromed up the power button as well to match the rest of the smartphone design as the given power button seems out-of-place.

As for as the design goes, the overall look and feel of Note 30 5G does match the expectation when we project it for the flagship experience Infinix is supposedly aiming for.

The biggest & best use case scenario for the NFC feature in Note 30 5G is that its for the consumers who frequently make purchases at stores that accept NFC payments, as it provides a secure and convenient payment option.

Infinix Note 30 5G – Display

The IPS LTPS LCD display measures 6.78 inches with full HD Plus resolution, and more importantly, it comes with a 120hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display also has the support of Smart Refresh 2.1 and Magellan Engine 1.1 promising a stellar gaming and streaming experience. We obviously had to try to believe it.

We started simply by streaming some YouTube videos first. The casual streaming experience is definitely impressive. You can stream apps such as YouTube at 1440p, which is great. The colours while streaming seem very vivid but you can take it one step further with some changes in the settings.

There’s no lag or slowing down when swiping through the menu or just browsing social media. The screen is overall smooth for an everyday user.

We also tried using the device outside to check the screen brightness and the results were pretty underwhelming in direct sunlight. The screen itself is quite bright, however, gaming or streaming outside in day time or under direct sunlight wasn’t clear. Streaming in shady areas, on the other hand, was decent enough.

What we loved is the Eye Care feature that automatically makes the screen look warmer or cooler depending on your settings.

Not to mention, you do have the JBL-tuned stereo speakers here, which accentuates the overall display experience while gaming and streaming.

The bright and high refresh rate display also enhances the gaming experience. You can also enjoy superior gaming on this display just by tweaking a few settings here and there.

Speaking of gaming, let’s talk about the performance of Note 30 5G.

Infinix Note 30 5G – Performance

Powering the Infinix Note 30 5G is the latest MediaTek Dimensity 6080 5G processor and it comes with 8 GB of RAM. However, there is an additional 8 GB of extended RAM, which totals 16 GB of RAM.

The device we had for this review comes with 256 GB of internal storage, which technically is a lot. However, for those of you who may still feel it’s lacking in the storage department, you do get the option to expand the device storage via the microSD card slot.

The Note 30 runs on Infinix XOS 13 which is based on Android v13.

To start with, we conducted some prominent benchmark testing on the device to understand where it actually stands with respect to performance.

Here are some Benchmark results –

The smartphone runs day-to-day apps such as Facebook, Twitter and Tick Tock very well as expected.

However, for all gaming enthusiasts, we are sure most of you would want to know about its gaming performance. To get some answers, we tried playing multiple games on the device and rarely felt any issues with respect to the response or otherwise device behaviour.

We also conducted a 3D Mark test to check the gaming capabilities of the smartphone. Here’s the result of 3D Mark testing –

As for heavy gamers, we’re happy to report that it overall smoothly runs graphics-heavy games such as Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail.
The only drawback when playing such games on this phone is that you have to tweak the graphic settings for smoother gameplay. Also, we did notice some lags and frame drops with Star Rail especially when you speed up battle.

Overall, we are quite happy with the performance of this phone for the price and to give you a better idea of how it performs we tried running some basic benchmarks.

Infinix Note 30 5G Camera

The aspect that really surprised us about Infinix Note 30 5G was the camera integrated into this device. You get a 108-megapixel main shooter paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor and an AI camera. On the front, we have a 16-megapixel selfie shooter that works smoothly for video calls.

We tried taking some shots and found the camera works great during the day or in well-lit environments. Here are some shots taken at different times of the day –

The 108-megapixel main sensor produces images with nice details. When zoomed in on the other hand, results remained underwhelming. What was impressive was how the camera worked in imperfect lighting conditions.

However, as was noticed in many sample photos, the colour reproduction can be inaccurate at times with reds turning pink in some areas when in low lighting conditions.

Another thing we noticed is how the standard mode was the best option as most of the shots taking in standard mode had the best results compared to other camera mode options available.

Similar to the photos, the videos we tried shooting were great in well-lit environments too. However, it’s not the best in low-lighting conditions.

The main lens can shoot up videos to a maximum of 2K at 30 frames per second. Here’s a sample video we shot in the daylight.

An issue we noticed as we tested the video shooting capabilities, it did not seem that stable when shooting at 2K. Although there is a stabilized function, its use is quite limited as with stabilization turned on it can only record video at 1080p at 30 frames per second.

We also tried recording videos using the selfie shooter and the results seemed good enough for social media. Obviously, it’s not the best but considering the price point of this device, it’s definitely good enough.

Infinix Note 30 5G Battery

Powering the Infinix Note 30 5G is a 5000mAh battery, which is more than enough for day-to-day use and even gaming by today’s standards.

From our experience of testing the device, it lasts almost an entire day including some light gaming hours. However, you still need to charge the phone at the end of the day almost like any other phone in the market.

In our PC Mark work 3.0 battery test, the phone lasted 14 hours and 14 minutes.

Infinix has packed a 45-watt fast charger with the Note 30 5G, which although is not the fastest out there it’s definitely better than the 5-watt we usually get with smartphones in this price segment.

Infinix has also tried to push for battery technology innovation this time around. The Note 30 5G comes with some unique battery features that we hardly get to see in this price segment. Here are some additional battery features –

The OnePlus Nord 3 has been a part of the rumour mill for quite some time, and it appears that we are close to its official launch. Last week, a tipster claimed that the phone might launch “on or after 16 June.”
Now, a leak includes its “official images” that look similar to the OnePlus Ace 2V in China. OnePlus is yet to confirm the launch of the OnePlus Nord 3 in India.

The renders come from the German blog WinFuture, which has a decent track record in leaks and specifications rumours. The renders suggest OnePlus Nord 3’s two colour options, including lime green and black.

The phone looks significantly different from Nord 2 as the rear cameras are not housed inside a square module. We can also notice the OnePlus alert slider to manage audio modes on the smartphone.

In terms of specifications, WinFuture suggests the Nord 3 will feature a 6.74-inch AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 2772×1240 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The phone may draw power from the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 octa-core SoC and a 5000mAh battery. The battery may have 80W charging support, which could power up the device from 0 to 100 per cent charge in less than an hour.

Although the back includes two cutouts, there are going to be three cameras. The Nord 3 will reportedly include a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
Other rumoured specifications include Android 13, 5G, under-display fingerprint scanner, up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

This variant of the Nord 3 5G will be priced at EUR 549 (roughly Rs 48,800).
The device is likely to be priced much lower in India.
It is possible that the 8GB RAM variant of the Nord 3 will be priced under Rs 35,000, whereas the higher storage option with 16GB of RAM could be priced under Rs 40,000.
That way, the phone will continue to sit below the OnePlus 11R 5G, which has a starting price of Rs 39,999 in India.
Quandt had also revealed the design renders of the phone.

The leaked details confirm that the Nord 3 5G is essentially a rebadged version of the Ace 2V, which was launched earlier this year in China.
The tipster claimed that the Nord 3 5G will launch globally in two colours — Green and Grey.

In addition to the design renders, the tipster revealed that the Nord 3 5G will have a different primary camera compared to the Ace 2V’s main sensor.

The OnePlus Nord 3 renders shared show the same design as the OnePlus Ace 2V. So there are dual cameras at the back, and a punch-hole display up front. The smartphone also comes in two colour options of black and green.

While this isn’t official it still corroborates past leaks and rumours of the OnePlus Nord 3 launching as a rebranded OnePlus Ace 2V.

Meanwhile, the WinFuture report confirms that the Nord 3 will be a rebadged Ace 2V from China. Design renders shared by tipster Quandt reveal that the global variant will launch in Green and Grey colour options.

The design is pretty much the same as the Ace 2V in China. The phone has two circular cutouts on the back for the triple-camera setup.  There are also two LED flash modules next to the camera cutouts.

The flat frame seems to be made of plastic and houses the power button below the alert slider on the right edge. The volume rocker is on the left edge.
At the bottom edge is the USB Type-C port sandwiched between the primary speaker grille and the SIM tray. The top edge has cutouts for the microphone and possibly an IR blaster.

The OnePlus Nord 3 5G is expected to launch later this month or in July in India. The phone has been spotted on Geekbench ahead of its launch.

The leak shows the upcoming mid-range smartphone from all sides and hints at a major change from the Ace 2V on which the Nord 3 is based.

Roland Quand and WinFuture have shared official images of the Nord 3, a follow-up to last year’s Nord 2T.

In short, it appears that the Nord 3 is the global version of the Ace 2V, a mid-range option that OnePlus sells in China. Seemingly, OnePlus has not made any physical changes to the Ace 2V, with the company’s regular black and green colourways returning.

Likewise, the Nord 3 is said to feature a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 2,772 x 1,240-pixel resolution. Presumably, the large display sits within a 162 x 75 x 8 mm chassis and is supported by a 5,000 mAh battery.

Quandt adds that the latter supports 80W wired charging, matching the capabilities of the Nord 2T. Additionally, OnePlus will maintain the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset from the Ace 2V, which it will pair with up to 16 GB of RAM.

Moreover, the Nord 3 is expected to offer 8 MP ultra-wide-angle and 2 MP macro cameras. Conversely, Quandt claims that OnePlus has swapped the 64 MP primary camera in the Ace 2V for a 50 MP sensor, matching the Nord 2T.

Also, the leaker states that the Nord 3 will start with 8 GB of RAM and 128 of storage; the Ace 2V is configurable with a minimum of 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. There will be no 512 GB of storage option, either.

Instead, the Nord 3 will peak at 256 GB of non-expandable storage. Pricing and availability has not surfaced yet, although OnePlus still remains barred from selling devices in Germany.

The OnePlus Nord 3 India launch is tipped to happen in June. The handset is expected to have a starting price of Rs 30,000/Rs 32,000.

Alleged OnePlus Nord 3 Live Images

The OnePlus Nord 3 live images have been shared by a Twitter user @realMlgmXyysd, showing off the complete design.  The phone looks identical to the OnePlus Ace 2V, which makes us believe the Nord 3 could be a rebrand.

While the live image shows the design completely, the source appears to be dubious as we see the Chinese variant and not the global model, so it may very well be the OnePlus Ace 2V.

The handset has a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter, flat edges, and narrow bezels.

Flipping the phone to the back, we are greeted with two circular modules that house triple camera sensors and an LED flash. We see OnePlus branding as well.

The power button and alert slider are on the right edge, while the volume rocker could be on the left side.  Interestingly, one of the images shows the ‘About Phone’ page of the phone.

A centered display camera hole is placed at the top of the display, while you’ll see physical buttons on both the left and right sides. On the left, a volume rocker is placed, while the power/lock button and an alert slider sit on the right side.

Now, as mentioned earlier, this phone will be a rebranded Ace 2V handset. That device already launched in China. The OnePlus Nord 3 won’t only look like the Ace 2V, but it will also utilize its specs.

The phone will feature a 6.74-inch 2772 x 1240 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC will fuel this phone. You can also expect to get up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
